Premier Inn Margate hotel in Thanet

Another excellent stay. Bonny on reception is an absolute diamond, helpful polite and efficient. All the other ladies were superb also but can't remember their names! Well done ladies you are ALL a credit to Premier Inn ! See you soon.

We decided to get away and have a one night stay, we found this hotel clean quiet and the rooms highly acceptable, being a seafront location there was endless places to explore, plenty of places to eat out, definitely be back

Location is really good. Next train station not far from town. Family room £57 sleeping 4 was excellent value. Beds very comfortable and good night's sleep. Room heating working well and nice and warm. Probably after having a bath and overflow cuts the water of, stops flooding. Been good if there was a notice saying this. Went to reception and let us use another room bathroom for 1hr. Just outside some nice stones with poetry and graffiti across the road.

The restaurant was closed for a refeferb, so guests were offered a complimentary breakfast of pastries and fruit. No fruit materialised. No Internet. No water to the bath or shower, I was given an absolutely ridiculous reason by the receptionist that water must have entered the overflow, and it would take 20 minutes for the thermostat to reset!!?? We had checked in at 15.30 and tried to have a shower at 20.30! Tried again in the morning to no avail. Would not stay again.

It's undergoing work so restaurant shut and you enter by he back. When finished I'm sure will be great andi can up the score. Good service but no food and felt empty and like a work zone.

It served its purpose. Room was dated, but the hotel is currently being refurbished, so considering it was one of the old rooms (you could tell from signs of wear and tear), it was fine, it was clean, and a comfortable bed. It's a 3* hotel, and I got what I believe was a 3*, so can't complain. Only spoke to a few members of staff but they were cheerful and helpful and the guy on reception when we arrived gave info on the Dreamland venue we were attending, so I would say based on the staff members the service was beyond 3*, hence going for an overall score of 4 as opposed to 3. Only one thing I forgot to tell them was I asked for some Decaf coffee sachets as there were none in the room, and they obliged, but unfortunately when I was about to make my coffee I realised they had a best before date of end of January 2024. Location was perfect for what we needed as it's literally 2 minutes from the venue we were attending, but if you want to be near the old town then there are close hotels/B&B's, but it still isn't that far away, especially if you go when the weather is nice. Overall, it was fine. It wasn't expensive and I didn't go expecting the Ritz.

Booked an emergency room here after a disaster with an Airbnb and the staff were amazing super friendly and helpful - would defo pick this again!

Hotel is very dated but due a renovation so there was zero WiFi and the restaurant was hardly open with very little in the way of drink to choose from rooms had no usb plugs and again very dated check before you book as lots of building work going on and car park is rammed although it is free if you can get a space. Margate is not great this time of year (October) everything shuts early!

You can pay more for a sea view. It's really near the station so very convenient. Vegan options for breakfast are good, IMHO.

Not one of the better Premier Inns. Reception never manned. Wifi has been down for months and it didn't look like they were going to do anything about it. The worst was the "restaurant" attached to the hotel. Was led to my table with due pomp after waiting to be seated, and then completely ignored for 35 minutes after which I was told by a waiter that I have to go to the bar and order. Something not quite consistent here. Location is great - near the station and the beach - all within 3 minutes of each other. You'd be hard put to find anywhere as cheap and with as good a location. Just walk 5 minutes down the road and get a meal at Spoons.

Unhelpful staff as we found there’s no warm water supply with shower mixer tap problem after check in. We have tried to ask for another room as we are family stayed which also affect our child health issues but receptionist refused and explain it will happened in every rooms in this hotel.

Breakfast unavailable for non geasts is a disgrace they will take your money any other time

Booked for an event at Dreamland so this hotel was super expensive for a premier inn! Parking is very good, room is basic, but really hot! Had a large fan in there that didn’t do much, no air con. Reception team were really friendly. Breakfast was ok, had much better at premier inns. Hotel needs a return.

I have been to various Premier Inn locations, and they do not disappoint! This one especially! The location is absolutely amazing. Right next to the Margate Railway station and two mins to the dreamland amusement park, the margate beach. The service was amazing as well, Jamie sorted everything out for my sister and I, and we could roam around freely without any worries! Definitely recommend this 💆🏻‍♀️

A decent night sleep in a fab location in Margate. Right next the station, Dreamland, and opposite the beach. The bed was comfortable and the shower strong and hot. There is free parking for hotel guests and the manager, Jamie, was very helpful on our checkout day.

Went for a long weekend. Experienced bad service on the first 2 days. The staff was rude and very unwelcoming on the weekend. The weekend staff was just unbothered. Asked for a room clean and didn't get one and the staff did not even offer any compensation instead offered sarcasm. The place seems to be understaffed which is prolly why they were grumpy. The weekday staff was sweet polite and pleasant. The place is in good location close to the beach and station, but not very central. The room was decent but no ac so in hot weather could be a downside. Overall good premier inn but not good enough service to hold up the brand name.

Great location. Food was good and not expensive, staff generally friendly. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, it had a weird urine smell.

Excellent convenient location, smack bang next to the beach and attractions but also the fairly busy train station. I was unfortunate enough to be given a room at the back of the building so heard every arrival and departure. The staff were all lovely but the first night there was only one till working in the restaurant/bar (technical issues) so ordering was long winded, and the second night the restaurant closed at 5.30 as there was no manager to oversee things; now got a two week wait for a refund on the meal deal packages we booked. The food was very good, the best we’ve had at a premier inn, breakfast was a bit mad (half term, our own fault) but they coped incredibly and nothing ran out. The location is convenient, the staff are really lovely but the hotel is looking and feeling tired. I had very little toiletries in my room (no hand wash and a very small amount of shower gel - I had brought my own so was ok), some of us only got one towel for a couple, and the place just feels a bit overlooked and unloved. Also make sure you check the price given at booking and the price charged at check in as some of ours didn’t match and again, awaiting a refund on the extra charged. And if it’s a windy night, you’ll hear every gust and breeze as it whistles round and through the hotel. All in all staff super, food excellent, location does the job, parking good.

Excellent location, room was large, comfy and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful, only downside was room 121 overlooked refuse bins and air conditioning units so with the window open it was very noisy!

Absolutely disgusting I wanted to enjoy my birthday here it's soo dirty we couldn't stay the two days poo on the hand wash bogey on the door. I didn't want to even touch the remote checked out early was told ill recieve my refund still not received it everytime u call them to complain they hang up worse service I have ever received would rather book an Airbnb next time still fuming

Typical Premier Inn. Good VFM, and a good spot right on the beach and next to the railway station.
