Premier Inn Gloucester (Barnwood) hotel in Gloucester

Stayed Friday 27th December. Checked in by a lady who clearly didn’t want to be there. In room 228. Freezing cold when I entered it and after fighting with the very old heater on the wall for 15 mins to get it to work had to sit in my coat for the evening!! Slept in clothes. Breakfast staff were very helpful and food up to Premier Inn standard. Don’t stay here go the other side of the M5 to Gloucester Business Park

Rooms are as expected from a Premier Inn, ie. clean but fairly basic. We were warned on the website that the lift wasn't working so that was expected. We were given a room on the same side as the road which I was a little worried would be noisy. But the double glazing was great and you could barely hear the road. There is plenty of parking and the location is very convenient from the motorway. Service from the staff was great. Nice friendly welcome and same from the girl at Breakfast taking us to our seats. The food however wasn't fab. It was even by Premier Inn standards not great. Very bland. And to cap it all off, on the first day the coffee machine had broken down so we couldn't get a fresh coffee. You'd think they would have a second machine as a backup but nope. Only instant available (Yuk!)

Lifts weren't working on two of the days we were there. Service in the breakfast bar was adequate at best!

Lovely place. Comfortable rooms, easy to access, nice pub nearby, free parking with plenty of space and friendly staff. Everything you need for a short stay in Gloucester

Great place to stay. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fantastic. Rooms are really clean and bathrooms are excellent and of course the beds are excellent.

A lovely welcome. The receptionist was a star, adjusting to my deafness. And responding to my request for early check in. Later they gave me a fire alarm kit.

Our room was clean if a little tired but it was extremely noisy during the night and very early morning, doors banging at all hours hardly got any sleep at all. Room was far too hot! And the air conditioning was very loud so we couldn’t put it on. Not an option to open the windows as we were right next to the road so traffic was extremely loud. The receptionist asked if we would like to book breakfast, I replied that we may book it later as we were going to have dinner at the pub next door, and we were going to see what they offer before making a decision. She told us that they don’t serve breakfast at the pub so our only options were to eat breakfast at Premier Inn, so we paid for two cooked breakfast from Premier Inn. Only to discover that they do indeed serve breakfast at the pub. So we were blatantly lied to!! I was furious. Anyway putting this aside we ventured down to breakfast the following morning with yourselves, I wish we hadn’t bothered. It was one of the worst breakfasts I’ve ever eaten. The cheapest sausage and bacon also I think everything had been deep fried it was so greasy! I ended up with just a banana and a yogurt. For £11 whatever each. So overall it was a very bad experience all round.

Had a warm welcome from the staff on reception. Very clean room and a good nights sleep. Well positioned for Gloucester and the surrounding areas.

Very rude receptionist upon arrival. Not welcoming, tried to talk over me. She said I owed money when I didn't and I when I showed her proof she wasn't prepared to look and told me I wasn't listening to her. This lady should be removed from the Meet & Greet role. All other staff were nice, the breakfast was the best Premier Inn Breakfast I've ever had, but this receptionist put a downer on our stay. Even my daughter was scared to ask her to enter the colouring competition

Stayed here on a stop over while on a tour of the cotswolds, I had a friendly greeting on arrival, and the room was nice and clean with a comfy bed .I had breakfast in the morning, which was well set out, and the staff were. really friendly and helpful,I had the contential breakfast which was good and plentiful.

Great staff room ok adjoining pub/restaurant good food friendly staff would score higher but hotel not close enough to walk into town

As expected the service was as good as ever. Rooms clean and well equipped

Had the greatest one night stay at Premier inn Barnwood, with my two children. The room had enough space and bedding for all of us, and the service throughout our stay was PERFECT! Location great, next to Tenpin bowling with arcade and a soft play area for my little ones, plus it was super close to a pub, KFC and NINJA WARRIOR! best 24 hrs ever spent!

Checked in, in the small hours for a short overnight stop. Night staff member professional and polite, rooms clean and with tea and coffee making facilities. Good to see a room with a bath too. Would stay here again if ever the need arises.

Great premier Inn, breakfast on site-top marks to the chef, staff helpful and friendly. Pub next door was a bonus too. Food fantastic

5 star service all the way, Amazing team. Excellent customer service. Nothing was too much trouble . The staff did their utmost to accommodate every request. Surpassed all my expectations. I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you so much for all your kindness! Sue xx
