Premier Inn Exmouth Seafront hotel in East Devon

We stayed for a long weekend during early March and we had glorious sunny weather. The location is perfect right on the seafront and staff are friendly. Our room was small but we had a lovely sea view. The negatives were that the hotel looks really shabby from the outside with peeling and dirty paint and black plastic stuck in the middle of the hotel. Our water wasn’t very hot and they said they didn’t know what was wrong, as well as the bathroom being a little bit scruffy. The worse thing for us was the fact that you can’t open the windows, the room smelt musty and like other people, even with the air con on it was stuffy all the time we were there. Compared to other Premier Inns, this one felt like money needs to be spent on it, despite its fantastic location !

It is a real shame that we arrived at reception early, quite prepared to get into our room for £10 extra. This price was made clear at the time of booking and also flashing up on screen behind the very pleasant young lady on reception as we came in. She told us it was now £15. With both of these notices and then charging £15 it is not an honest business practice. It taints a lovely stay. It is not the cost, but it is the principle.

We have just finished our second stay here and wanted to leave a review to say thank you to all the staff for such an outstanding level of service. Everyone was just so welcoming and helpful and cheerful. The hotel is incredibly clean, the location is spot on and the food simple but tasty and reliable. However it was the wonderful staff that made our stay so perfect nothing was too much bother and they created had such a lovely atmosphere. Thank you to you all for making our little family break so special.

Unfortunately our stay for one night wasn't our usual experience of a premier Inn stay. Location excellent, restaurant clean & evening staff attentive & efficient. After that it went downhill. We were situated right next to the stairwell, and at midnight could still hear loud noises overhead. I went to reception, who were very sympathetic & came to our room to listen. Of course nothing could be heard for the 2 minutes they were there. When they left , it started again intermittently until 12.50. by then I was too shattered to go back down and complain. They'd already told me they were full & couldn't offer an alternative room anyway. The noise started again before 7 , so not the sleep I was hoping for. Disappointed as the room was good & bed soooo comfy. However , looking forward to the breakfast I put all this behind me. Gutted to say , we weren't greeted at all, the older lady was on her phone , put it to one side & just looked at us to speak first!!!!!!! Food was cold, yuk. But my brownie points are given to the young waitress , Sophie, who was working her little socks off, polite, efficient & carried your good reputation. Not the stay we had hoped for. We have many more booked in other locations in the coming months. They are paid for upfront, so you have our money in your bank accounts. Invest & make sure you have enough staff available. Also because you know we re arriving( non refundable) put us in a quieter room!!!!!!! Thankyou

Nice hotel, £7 parking. Great location by the beach. Some of the rooms are huge with large windows and a view of the sea.

Fantastic location for walking to the town or the coast. Good value but some small things would improve matters - an additional arm chair as most rooms are occupied by two people. The designer obviously never slept in the rooms as a ceiling light is directly above the bed and nearly blinds you. We should have been warned that there is scaffolding in front of some windows. Having said that, we enjoyed our stay.

Wow, what a room with huge windows. A real shame it was a dull grey January visit. Certainly be back, never disappoint.

They were so friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect, whether it was at breakfast or just around the hotel. Their attention to detail and warm smiles made all the difference. Highly recommend staying here!

Basic, dated rooms. 55 minutes between starter and main course during a very quiet dinner service.

Great sea front location, looking a bit tired but it was November. Staff very helpful particularly Abbey who seemed to be on duty 27/7 and always had a smile and a helpful suggestion.

The flowers were beautiful thank you very much as karen said they were beautiful and thank you to your husband for getting the chocolates as well

We enjoyed our one night's stay in this hotel. The beach and promenade were opposite the hotel.

Great place for a short stay. We met up with family. Only the weather let us down. Nice bar if slightly loud, good food, with reasonable prices.

Great location for a few days break away by the sea side. Location is right across the road from the beach. Restaurants and pubs close by.

Staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful 5 stars for that but not enough of them so everyone was constantly waiting around for everything hence the 3 stars given, certainly not the staffs fault... Premier inn you need to get more staff at this location, the staff you have are brilliant but you will lose them if you don't respect them and help them! Great location, rooms small, bathroom really small but aircon worked a treat. I would stay here again but would drink and dine elsewhere but only due to the lack of staff. Food was nice and tasty 5 stars for that. With enough staff this could be a fantastic location!

Would have liked a disabled room facing sea. But that's my only let down. And no Internet.

Fabulous hotel & location... Definitely worth paying a little more for a Premier plus room. Amazing views.

We were pleasantly surprised on reaching the inn. The location was perfect and although the outside appearance was a bit in need of sprucing the inside was clean, warm and welcoming. A smaller venue with friendly and helpful staff. Food was hot and tasty. Highly recommended.

Room was a bit tired. Staff were vreat.

Very clean hotel right on the seafront.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was very good it was facing the car park but not a problem, we had breakfast during our stay which was great and i could have peppermint tea as well, location on the sea front so it was easy to walk along the promenade.
