Stayed here on Mon 21st. Location was perfect, near weaverly Station, Checkin was quick, room was on the 5th floor and was absolutely spotless. It was very quiet, had the best nights sleep in a long time. Had evening meal which was fantastic, staff were great, very friendly and efficient. Breakfast the following morning was the standard buffet, but everything was hot and delicious. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Check out was also quick. Will definitely stay here the next time I'm in Edinburgh.

Is your staff prone to hanging up mid conversation with costumers? Was on the phone with a member of staff with an Indian accent, and I was asking if u Do the blue light card, he rambled on fast as anything about a blue card. Which was not what I asked about and then I said blue light, oh no we don't do that, line goes dead, I can see why ur loosing customers premier inn and having to close places down

Location is great. Premiere plus room was quiet and comfortable. However, most interactions with staff were not super friendly or helpful. Especially a staff member named John, who was especially rude to us a few times. Glad I didn’t interact with him more than I had to.

If it wasn’t for the location, it would have been totally unacceptable. All I can say positive about it is it’s in a great location, the bed linens appeared to be clean as did the bathroom (except for some mold around the tub). But the rest of the room was in disrepair. The room needed to be refurbished as did the entire hotel. The furniture was falling apart. The carpet was worn and dirty. I was afraid to go barefoot on it. Although the bathroom was clean, the shower was an accident waiting to happen. The old tub was at least 2 ½ feet high and dangerous to enter and exit. I had to hold on to the towel rack to be able to get into to it. I’m short and lifting my leg high enough to get in and then trying to get out was difficult and dangerous. The tub was slippery and that certainly did not help with safety. If I had slipped and fallen, I would have suffered terribly. The fact that the room had no telephone bothered me. Had I had an emergency there was no way to reach anyone. No refrigerator; not even an ice machine and bucket. Totally unacceptable. 99% of the time I came down to see a receptionist, there was no one at the desk. They were helping in the restaurant. I rang the bell repeatedly and no response. I finally had to go in and get the desk clerk. What kind of customer service is that? I guess you don’t feel the need to give acceptable service and a decent clean and well-maintained room because of your location. In my opinion that is totally unacceptable. There is nothing “premier” about it.

The hotel is very conveniently located near many places of interest and shopping. However the first room we were given had an offensive moldy mildew smell from the bathroom. The 2nd room was a little bit better but you can tell the mildew smell is also there. The furniture surfaces were peeling and stuff needed replacement and upgrades ASAP. Front desk was poorly staffed and they didn’t seem to know answers to common questions that visitors ask about eating places, transportation etc. Front lobby and rooms have old worn-out carpets, and the bathtub is too high and is a potential safety hazard. Hotel generally needs refurbishing.

Another business trip 27/08/24 was charged £237 for the same room 1 x premier room for 1 night really don’t understand the pricing on rooms ? Just shows they profiteer and RIP you off when anything is on in Edinburgh ? Started at £145 now paying up to and above £250 a night for a room ? Not what you call value for money ? Not good value when Considering 5 nights all inclusive in Spain only cost me £695 🤯 Another business trip 05/06/24 was charged £256 for 1 night 1 person 1 room ??? WHAT COST OF LIVING CRISIS ??? Absolute should be renamed The Budget Inn ? Book premiere room, internet absolutely rubbish, dirty bathroom with hair still on condiments, made a cup of tea more milk floating on the tea horrible, that’s after I had to get some more as the tray was basically empty ? went for something to eat, came back and unable to access room as key card didn’t work ? Complained staff ? not interested ? Absolute crap hole of a hotel for the £145 spent & the staff are no better,

Friendly and accommodating staff greeted us upon arrival. We had a premier plus room and it was everything we needed including a mini fridge to store items for our baby. Rooms were large, bright, quiet and the bed was so comfortable. We were travelling with a baby and they provided a travel cot (crib) which was an amazing complement to our room. Every staff member we encountered was kind, thoughtful and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Our only minor complaint was that in the evenings the wifi did not work well, or at all (despite having the ultimate wifi package). Great location on the Royal Mile. Overall, I would gladly stay here again and recommend to other travellers!

So we just been here for from 12/5/24 until 15/5/24 we got moved from 120 because of the path outside are window with people and workmen looking in this made my pregnant wife so uncomfortable having people looking in. We got moved to floor 2 room 204 who ever cleaned this room didn’t do a good job on the outside of the wasn’t clean still could see human faeces and the room had a black mould issue around the window on the curtains. When talking to the manager manager on the reception he said well all you do is clean it and wash the curtains and asked him about what black can do to him. He did not know anything about what black was. After my black walking in duty him lungs he just smelled and just carried on talking. I have contacted health and hygiene about this matter. To my horror, particularly when I reached the room, my booking was for a Premier Plus room. At reception I did not challenge this, merely because the price I had been asked to pay matched what I remembered of the booking. From the room I rang down to reception and later went down to highlight my points... 1) there was no long couch on which to unpack my suitcase. On the floor it would have been awkward on my back or on a particular stool the case would have blocked my way to the bathroom, particularly awkward overnight. 2) there was an ironing board along with iron blocking the only suitable place to hang a wet coat such as it was when I got there. 3) there was a plastic screen alongside the bath. Though hinged, it would have created a health hazard with water dripping and creating a slippery floor. I've mentioned this to the group before though it seems to be a new move by them. 4) the sight of a coffee machine appalled me. I have always been happy with instant coffee being available in hotel rooms. 5) there was only something like a two inch gap between the top of the padded chair by the table and the underside of said table..... ??????? How could anyone sit there? I had already booked dinner for 6 p.m. before going to the room. I had been told that no other room was available but it was. I was given the new key but by the time I got back downstairs it was around 6.10. Someone in front of me was being told that because his party of six had missed their booking slot they could not be seated till 7 o'clock. I asked if I had missed my slot. I was told that I had. They could fit me in at 6.15. A short wait of one minute but no sign of consideration for the guest. I had only been late because of the actions of hotel staff sending me to an inappropriate room. I later saw that the upgrade to Premier Plus only took place when I was on a train and about half an hour away from Edinburgh. A confirmation came about an hour later but at a time when I was stood at the exit to the station to avoid a downpooring of rain. Despite her anxiety at the bookings for the restaurant, it looked to have plenty room for more guests. The food was to the high standard I had become accustomed to see at Premier Inn but it was sloe on coming out from the kitchen. When I got downstairs for breakfast, the receptionist was taking ages sorting out the cash payment from the group of three in front of me. As soon as she took them to a table, I headed for one of my choice and told her my surname and room number when she came back. I later saw her toss some cutlery into a cutlery tray then flick a chair leg with her foot to get the chair back in place. With all three chairs askew down that side of the table it would have looked most uninviting to later guests. Notice that my photos are of the food or looking towards the outside of the hotel.

Every staff person we encountered was friendly, incredibly helpful and always made us feel welcome. A very clean hotel including rooms and their restaurant. Special mention to Aldonna who was beyond a doubt the most courteous, friendly and kind person we've ever encountered in our travels. An absolute asset to the Premier Inn. The premier rooms were quiet and we could sleep comfortably. The mattresses were soft and comfortable. The room size was satisfactory. The hygiene was good. The position is perfect, very close to the Royal Mile AND the main railway station. The only low point is that the receptionists seem a bit chaotic and we noted that at different times of the day there are people complaining in reception. The "Ultimate WiFi" was included in the premier room but we had to ask every day a code in reception as each code would give access to the WiFi only for 24h (we were there three nights). Also, we weren't impressed with the so-called "Ultimate" WiFi as it didn't really work and kept disconnecting.

We have stayed in several Premier Inns, first time at the Royal Mile. Not impressed, worst experience. We have never had to ask for our room to be cleaned, this is a ridiculous new feature. This is a Premier Plus room, its damp, smells very musty, window ledge is covered in water every day running down the wall onto the carpet from the humidity, never wiped down by cleaning staff. Tonight we found water running out the fridge, the room is only ever half cleaned, you need to have your towels changed each day, they stay wet after use because of the humidity etc etc etc. The wall by the window has signs of the paint peeling off, expect to see mould there. Even the bottled water that should be supplied each day as part of Premier Plus, you are also chasing that up. Its just everything here, it's ridiculous, and the rates for a 3 star hotel are way over-priced. The staff, with the exception of a few of them who were helpful, are not trained properly. Their manner is so rude. The cleaning staff come knocking at the door asking when they can get in, so frustrating. Their signs clearly state no one will knock or come into your room, they will wait until the sign is displayed. We will never stay here again, certainly no recommendation, avoid this hotel. Can't believe how bad this is. Checked the reviews, this damp thing as well as the rude staff weeks to be the norm here.

The rooms and facilities may be familiar at the Premier Inn but that doesn't diminish their comfort, cleanliness and value. The bed is always surprisingly comfortable and the decor tastefully done, making it a step up over most budget options. This one scores bonus points for two free chocolates on the bed, and being almost next door to one of my favourite cafes in town, Room and Rumours, plus the Royal Mile runs right behind the building.

The room was great, was a good size and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The only issue we had was the circulation, while it worked it was difficult for one of us to breathe well due to the humidity. But the hotel staff found us a fan and all was well. The restaurant was great for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Anna was a great bartender and recommended some whisky for us to try and it was really good. Great location, super easy to walk to all major attractions and the city centre from the hotel. There is also a new Loudons across the street which is pretty quiet for breakfast. The room was really small but since I was traveling solo it was fine but anyone else it would have been a tight fit. The bathroom was also tiny and I wish they had put a shelf in the shower. There was no kettle in the room but they had drinks in the cafe which were free and alway stocked. For me this place was ideal and the price wasnt bad either. I would suggest booking as far out as possible I booked about 5 months out and got a really fair price. I would definitely stay here again if I was going solo and getting a bigger room if I was going with others.

Stayed here for 3N.. First timer in Scotland. Best decision ever.. Rooms are new and clean. Service is friendly and fast. Best of all was the location.. Smack middle of the city center.. 10min walk to the castle and a 5min walk to the waverly station. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Water pressure is strong and hot. Appreciate the long bath.. Perfect for a hard day's walk exploring the city. Note reception is mostly unmanned thru the day. Use the self service kiosks. Free parking at waverly station for 20mins if you validate the parking ticket at the reception desk. Small downside was the room walls are quite thin. You will hear people talking outside in the corridor and doors opening and closing.

We enjoyed a comfortable, couple days here. The hotel is ideally situated very near the train station and the best tourist sights.

Rooms were okay but smelt a bit musty. 2 out of 3 lifts not working. Walking down east castle road late at night wasn't great. Nowhere near as nice as the Premier Inn at Yorke Place so I'll stay there in future instead.

A piece of advice to the male staff who worked today near the front desk - maybe don't serve the person behind me when I'm clearly next in line in the queue to be served. Was it because he was a white male, because he looked like a businessman, or because I was an ethnic minority? Either way, you didn't come across as a decent human. Learn a simple lesson and treat your customers equally. It's really not that hard :) P.s. Your women's toilets were pretty gross.

Tiny place on the Royal Mile, you would think it below average tourist fare. Anything but….. superb Small plates, everything was fantastic Monkfish satay I could eat many every night of the week One area for improvement - pacing, all the dishes came at once, filling the small table and some became cold. Highly recommended

It's right on the river walk. So very picturesque. The room, need, towels very polish. Towel heater was a special touch! Met some wonderful people, great breakfast and dinner was fab.! The people working there are the best made our stay very comfortable and we can't wait to go back!

The menu is out of date, up to date prices are not displayed. There is no takeaway menu. Whilst the food is reasonable there is need for an alternative within South Queensferry. Here is hoping.
