Excellent hotel in Darlington centre

Location, location, location! Couldn't be more true when it comes to this hotel. The entire look of the building - with the stepped terraces overlooking the river - and this view plumb in the middle of town centre. What a location! Combine that with a range of dining options - a number of restaurants next door or 5min walking distance. Add all this to a 10min walk to Darlington train station. And you have a near perfect location. Though we didn't get to explore the town much but the hotel surroundings itself were time (& money) well spent. Despite the gloomy weather (this was the start of a 5 day downpour that brought most parts of England to a standstill), yet the hotel setting and staff were the silver lining. The ever smiling front desk staff who checked us in and came to the rescue when we accidentally got trapped behind fire door while taking stairs (a minor H&S issue) but we walked into it believing it was 1st floor when it clearly didn't have any such signs - so our fault. And in the morning we encountered the super efficient restaurant manager who was overseeing the service and the front desk checkouts - all with a smile and a great service attitude. Having stayed in most of Premier Inns across the country past 12 years or so, Premier Inn Darlington provides the same levels of comfort and amenities but it excels because of its location and most importantly the service orientated attitude of its staff! Well done to the staff, managers & bosses of this establishment - a truly exceptional 4 star experience.

Very helpful staff. Room carpet was tired and smelled of very strong industrial detergents. Bed comfortable, but had major problems checking in with key cards. Room had an unpleasant smell was the biggest downside. Sheets and towels were very clean and smelled freshly laundered. Pity about the room cleaning materials.

No parking space of their own. Any lodger should not be compelled to pay again because they have for for the lodging fees I feel really appalled

Nice staff, close to lots of ameniries

It's a Premier Inn, so awesome beds and all the usual features you'd expect. It's slap bang in the town centre with cheap, secure parking a short walk away. The reception area, however, absolutely stinks, of I don't know what? and it hasn't changed in three separate visits over three years. If you can deal with that, then it's ok 👍🏻 Sort that stink out. How your poor employees even manage to work there is beyond me? 🤢

Giving 1 star and will avoid this hotel because they support the parking racket that is happening in the hotels car park. Shame on you Premier Inn!!

Excellent location nice rooms great breakfast

Close to town, rooms lovely and clean, but stay away from the underground parking, I eventually paid for parking during to no phone signal, unless you have £8.50 to hand, the sign says you have to pay within 5 minutes unless you'll have to pay 100 pound, reduced to 60 if you pay within 14 days, either way the parking must be run by pirates. Apart from that the room and service was good.

As always a great premier inn. Can't say I've ever had a bad experience in a premier inn. I've stayed in a few. It is what you pay for. Clean, friendly staff, easy check in and good food.

Very fresh, very clean, very new. Easy self check-in and check-out. Free overnight parking at the neighbouring multi-storey car park. A great experience for the price, perfect for a stop-off on the way from London to Scotland.

Good hotel at a reasonable price & not far from the centre.

Clean and well presented Premier Inn just 5 minutes walk from the Darlington town centre. You can enter reception directly off the undercover car park directly behind the hotel (not operated by Premier Inn and cost about £9 for 24 hours). This was handy, especially in rainy weather. The staff were absolutely lovely at this Premier Inn! Friendly, warm and very welcoming. I instantly felt like a valued customer. All the staff I interacted with had the same approach, from reception to the staff in the restaurant. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Darlington.

Premier inn was the first priority of accomodation i prefered to stay all the time till i book a room in premier inn Darlington on April 26 to 29 2024.im really disappointed with the stay there.the room that i got was very cleaned and tidy but i think there is no electricians are working there because in my room our heating system was working but to turn the temperature up.The temperature down swith was broken at the place of temperature down swith there was a hole in it i think the customers used to operate the temperature down button with the help of some kind of tools like pen or something but i didn't do anything because i was scared to do that and i keep turned off the heater all the time. This is not exact problem that make me disappointed with the hotel.i came with my girlfriend to stay there.On 28th of April she was fell down on the road and she had a scratch on her knee at that time so we asked for some first aid to the receptionist and that lady s reply was shocking she told me that there is no first aid with them and they teased me and said "add some water on that and put a tissue paper on it".i was really sad with there racist behaviour i am sure that they behave like that because im from another country.This incident was happed on afternoon of 28th April.im really shocked that there is no first aid in one of the reputed and famous hotel.And i think they are not ensuring there customer safety

Just back from staying at this hotel, the rooms where clean the staff where amazing, brilliant breakfast. Can't wait to stay again.

Pretty good for a premiere inn! One of the best ones I’ve stayed in. And the breakfast is really good!

Have stayed at Darlington Town centre hotel numerous times , the rooms are always clean and welcoming and staff are friendly and very helpful nothing is to much trouble .

Brilliant hotel. Stayed here with my friend for a few nights and it was very clean. The hotel was place in a decent enough area, and was overall a very nice getaway.

Rooms/standards are just what you expect of a Premier inn, no issues. Struggled to find the place with a hidden car park. Sadly no electric vehicle charging. Upon arrival, was greeted by very friendly staff. Entered a tombola for Great Ormond Street and won some crème eggs. Staff were particularly happy and helpful; for that main reason I’m giving 5 stars. That service continued throughout my stay. Keep up the good work 👋

One of the better Premier Inns. Couldn't fault it, excellent service

I booked a double room for 3 nights. Today is the second night and I am completely satisfied. The room was big and clean and had a third bed. I had absolute peace and the heating was silent. The view from the rooms was very good. The mattress was comfortable and there were also two pillows for each. The sleep was very good, while I have a problem with my neck,

Wandered in for breakfast. It was very busy but we were seated within 5 mins. Had the unlimited breakfast. Very good, lots of choice, good quality ingredients. The service was superb, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Went to a show at the hippodrome,hotel ideally situated for the theatre and town centre, hotel clean ,comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful.
