Extremely well kept and clean Premier Inn. The room was very nice and bed as usual for Premier Inn's was very comfy. Cooked breakfast was, as usual again, excellent. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Only negative was it's location, it is tucked away down the bottom end of the town and has a strap hill to climb to the high street. The room I stayed in had a broken bathroom extractor fan and a leak in the shower which made the floor wet. Other than that, an excellent stay.

The hotel appears to be used primarily as emergency shelter by the council, or similar - as such there were a number of other guests smoking illicit substances outside, the smell from which then wofted inside the lobby and elevators, and there were lots of small children running riot (as presumably they would otherwise be cooped up in the rooms). The room was fine. Not the most modern, but clean and pleasant. Service was relatively bon existent - self service check in and out. we arrived around 8pm on a Friday and the restaurant was already closed. Breakfast was fine though.

Stayed for only 1 night after a friend's celebration. We arrived at 10pm and was greeted by a member of staff on reception to give us our room key, the room was very clean, smart and very comfortable, was a bit chilly but the heating took care of that but it had all that we needed. In the restaurant again we were greeted by a friendly member of staff, so much variety of breakfast food to choose from, nice friendly chef too. The hotel has a small carpark (27 cars) but there is an NCP about 5 mins walk away, make sure you download the app and enter the discount code before you go in, generate a QR code in the app to enter and exit the car park. Great location in the town centre, would definitely stay again, highly recommend.

After covid, I suffer anxiety and just want a quiet vacation by myself. I decided to take a small vacation and decided to stay in this hotel. I'll start with the positives. It's quiet, the bed is very comfortable, and the heating's good. I walk through Castle Park to enjoy the sights and get food from the town centre. The negatives were on the first day I stayed at the hotel. A man (probably sent by security) opened the door without knocking. Luckily I was eating and wasn't changing at the time. I wasn't happy; he tried to make conversation, but I gave him none of it. Another was this lady security staff member who put on a smile that made me very uncomfortable. I would often rush into my room to avoid her. I understand that they're doing their jobs. I've stayed in many premier inns, and this one's my least favourite. The rooms are superb, but I will be very unlikely to return to this hotel unless it's necessary.

Oh dear.. can be pricey for one large towel and cheap n cheerful breakfast. But good location. If you grab the cheapest night it's good value....

After locking myself out of the flat, they accommodated us. Very friendly staff, and they even gave us a charger so we can charge our phones. Exceptional service from Himarshu - kind, courteous, went above and beyond to help us! So thank you!

It is your standard premier inn, comfortable beds and decent curtains blocking the light. Air conditioning in our room worked very well. Rang the bell for assistance, they sorted my request straight away ( we need led extra pillows). Down side is the constant thumping of feet above us. Last night and this morning

Rooms are O.K., check-in machines are a waste of time.

Stayed a couple of nights in this Premier inn, received a friendly welcome when we arrived. We had a family room and our daughters bed was not made but we spoke with the manager and she soon sorted it, even tucking my daughters favourite cuddly toy in the bed. In the morning she asked us how we had slept and asked what our plans were and recommend places to visit. Jess really made are stay and nothing was too much for the staff there. Breakfast was good with lots of variety and the hotel was close to the lovely gardens in the castle park and the town centre shops.

Great location, friendly helpful staff, nice quiet room. Just perfect for me. Car parking is limited but you can use the NCP car park across the road as an overflow.

I am very annoyed with my service I have recieved at the restaurant. I waited 55mins to get food, 32mins for someone to check on me. Cmon man, I know there is only 2 at the back and front but was it really that busy? I asked for custard and still got ice cream. Then you ask me do I want a drink. Here I'm thinking it's compensation but no can't even give me a bottle of water. An it happened twice. Otherwise hotel wise. I understand that you want to minimize cleaning, but I do believe hotel should attempt to clean the room rather than us always having to constantly ask them to clean it. Otherthan that a nice room and shower facilities, you can help yourself to tea facilities in the main lobby Parking is £7/ night where you have to pay at the end, sucks that's the staff could've told me at the beginning rather than saying "don't worry we sort it". Location wise is really nice, right beside the castle Park, at the end of the road are some cafe and 5-10min into the city centre and a 20min walk to the station.

Everything was just ok - not great. Wall next to us didn't look clean, table was a textured finish that seemed to trap detritus. Plastic plants, mis-matched decor. Orange juice tasted like cheap squash. Wouldn't rush back.

Went to the Barn today for lunch on my daughter's birthday. There was a mix up with a wrong meal being delivered but was rectified, food was very nice. I was rather disappointed that when we found a cute stuffed toy dog that resembled our recently deceased dog Henry that was priced at £21 on the label the lady on the till said the price tag was wrong and the price was actually £25. I always believed that if an item was labelled with a certain price you should honour it, particularly as we had just spent over £100 on food.

Fantastic cheese counter, helpful staff and super deli and wine selection. Stocked up for an evening in when staying in very quaint Wivenhoe. Will certainly be back.

Went to Timperley for lunch. The food was minimal for the price. The ingredients are cheap and the prices expensive. Coffee was cold. Been here before and it was good. Disappointed so won't return.
