Premier Inn Cardiff Bay hotel in Cardiff

Great location 2 mins from the theatre and the dock front. Lovely staff and the rooms are clean and spacious.

Great hotel for such a reasonable price. Only 1 negative which was there's no view from the hotel room. Scaffolding and sheets blocking entire window, unable to see anything.

I usually don't have any issues with this hotel as its the one I always book with whenever I stay in the Bay for a duration. But my recent stay I was cut deeply several times by a loose rusty spring in the mattress, I've emailed support several times and have sent an enquiry but I haven't heard anything back at all, other than an automated response. I don't think I should have to spend nearly £200 for a room that wasn't acceptable to be used. I tried putting the spring back into the mattress to stop nipping it but it kept coming back out. Because I was busy and bed bound at one point during my stay due to being really unwell I wasn't able to report it to reception during my stay, not to mention my train was early on the last day and I wasn't able to get another one so I needed to leave as soon as possible. The staff are always friendly and helpful and I've never had an issue.

Good clean hotel but lots of building work going on around. Check in easy. Cardiff bay is nice just a fraction too far out for the main town. 35 minutes to walk or £8 for an Uber

Scaffolding outside window, Terrible Parking service, buzzed for worker and had to wait ten minutes we wanted toilet roll and the we ended up having to put it in the dispenser ourselves, safety hazard outside as front patio super slippy, kept waking up really early.

Clean comfortable rooms of a Good size. Very convenient for the Cardiff Bay attractions. Very helpful staff. Good restaurant.

I’ll start off by saying the price was great. £200 for two people for two nights. I would say the location is okay, a little out the action but not a far walk. However, the room we stayed in had a weird layout and was extremely cold.we had a single and a double room. The single was fine but the covers were far too small for a grown adult, I was extremely cold for my two sleeps and the heating was so far away from my bed. I asked for a double duvet was told yes by one person and no by another so ended up having to sleep with two single covers which was not good.

Had a wonderful 2 nights here. It was so great to be so near to the theatre and it had such a warm, welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Would definitely stay again

Decent place, clean. Staff were fine but it felt like a B&B environment at times rather than a chain hotel. Breakfast was lovely.

We were not advised that scaffolding was around the hotel and our window was obscured ! However the premium room was very good size with coffee pod machine, fridge, usual amenities, with the extras for this size room Check in swift and easy, large car park next to hotel, not hotel owned, but discount is available on checkout. Comfortable stay did not eat in as we had plans outside, the drop of marks purely on the fact no pre advice of scaffold and works with no view see picture

Got woken up at midnight ,by someone knocking on our hotel room door ,my partner went down to complain and the hotel staff didn't really do anything about it ,lovely room and facilities, won't be staying here again if we did it be our last decision, lovely location to restaurant and bars

I stay quite often in this hotel and find it is an ideal location and the staff are extremely friendly on the whole, however last week and I witnessed one of the Duty Managers (Temi) treating both staff and customers like something she had trod on. Her service skills were abhorrent, she was spilling sauces in peoples drinks, she spilled peppercorn sauce in mine with no apology and no mention of recompense, however this was resolved by another member of staff offering to change my drink. Everybody has a bad day occasionally but you should not bring it to work, especially in the service industry. On the whole the rest of the staff at this hotel are excellent.

Our fave Hotel in cardiff. We love a trip to Cardiff and the Cardiff bay premier inn is the best spotto use as a base. Nice spacious,clean, comfortable rooms. The staff are also really friendly and happy to help. The hotel is pretty quitlet also, which is great for a relaxing trip. My son had a pizza from the resturant, which he enjoyed. We had The breakfast every morning during our stay and it was delicious and plentiful. Will keep coming back here to stay, as its a really great hotel!

Changed my review. I had family staying over last week, and they had a lovely time at the hotel & the staff couldn't have been more helpful. What a comeback!

As named a bit off the main city centre.

Initial family room was tiny, and so cramped with the extra kids beds. We have stayed in many Premier Inns and I've never seen such a small room. It also smelt musty and smokey. A quick word with reception and we were given a huge suite at no extra cost. So much better. Very cold due to the size which eventually heated up. Scaffolding up so no view. Really sparse. Could make it look so much more appealing. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Good location to visit Cardiff Bay.

The food was really good we arrived late after a bit of turmoil with the railway upgrading smiling staff very clean room. We have stayed in the premier inn in Headingly and that was good too they both knocked spots off the Hilton in Harrogate def recommend them

A good base for a stay in Cardiff. Evening meals need improvement, the open style kitchen left customers seeing just how meals where prepaired from plastic bags then microwaved, there must be a chef shortage as anyone could do this work.The resturant will close if the food stays like that i hope. The Botanist resturant in the bay area was a place to visit.

Ideally located hotel if you're planning a stay in Cardiff Bay, which is less than five minutes away by foot. There is a car park situated next to the hotel for which you will receive a discounted parking rate. Service was a little slow in the bar when we stayed on our overnight Sunday stay ( we were the only two people in the bar at the time), but this was only a slight negative. Picture show our Premier Plus room.

Very good place and reasonable price, clean and comfortable.

Great location near to the marina with a car park next door. Room clean and a nice size. Reception staff not so welcoming. No 'welcome' or 'your room is on the 3rd floor and the lifts are over there'. Small things make a big difference.

Great parking even with the works in the carpark. Room is a standard premier in room. The only issue is the windows are blocked out gor work so nothing to look at and no natural light

Nice receptionist, but pillows very hard and lumpy, bed too hard. Did not sleep well. Otherwise, room facilities good.

This Premier Inn had really uncomfortable beds and a really weird noise all night possibly from the ac unit (which was turned off) kinda like a white noise sound. The pillows were terrible it wasn't like a usual Premier inn whatsoever

Very friendly and helpful staff . Good and extensive breakfast selection. Unfortunately there is a temporary construction site but nothing can be done about that and everything has been done to ensure a pleasant stay.

Premier Inn loses brand standards What can i really say but probably the worst premier Inn stay in my life. Ive been a great fan of premier inn hotels as you know what you are getting, clean, comfortable rooms with great staff. NOT ANYMORE Our stay at the premier Inn Cardiff Bay was just diabolical, with staff that just didn't want to be there and not even acknowledging that paying guests want service. On check in, the self checking machines weren't working so we asked the receptionist to check us in, however she ignored us as she was too busy on her phone until we interrupted her. We got to the room and it was ok not the normal standard but the thought of going to the reception to deal with zombie girl was too much. We regretted booking 3 nights as we knew it was bad but we decided to continue and ignore the staff. Later on in the evening we returned to the hotel to find a queue of guests waiting for bar and restaurant service. The staff, all 4 of them were sitting at a table chatting and laughing like we didn't exist. Absolutely shocking and disgusting behaviour from staff left a bad taste for everyone who were complaining to the manager, however she was completely uninterested. Paid extra for parking, had a very small piece of gammon (wish I had my scales with me, because there was no way that was 7oz) but it was tasty. Rooms ok, stains on carpet and drone marks on the ceiling where it looks like somebody flew a drone and crashed it into the roof. Crazy scenes. Air con, no window, which is bad for air quality. Shower excellent pressure, however, the thing leaks and when I tried to reconnect, I ended up with black skuzz all over the place. Two out of three friendly waiting staff, the dark haired one was a right nark. It's a premier Inn at a premier price and can do so much better. Premier inn act and price like they're providing Meliá type accommodation. They're more travel lodge though.

It's very much a case of... u know what ur going to get. The staff were nice so that's a big plus!

Fab hotel, whenever we are in Cardiff we stay. Great food and pubs in easy reach with the city center only a 5 min taxi ride away. 👍🏻

Great location, nice rooms and the staff are fantastic, friendly and super helpful. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Location is fantastic just behind the millennium centre so 2 minutes walk to all the bays restaurants and bars.

It's an excellent place to stay...staff is very polite and helping...

Spent the weekend here. Room was very warm so the air conditioning was needed 24/7. Fab not working on the bathroom. No bath mat in a very slippery bath when showering. The bar and eating area was very utilitarian and not at all welcoming so we went and ate elsewhere.
