As someone who has experienced a number of Premier Inn hotels I can say that this has been my most disappointing experience. Sadly at least a few if the rooms reek of mould and dampness and even with that aside. In need of desperate need of a major refurbishment. It is a sad demonstration of the Premier Inn company. The staff are polite and professional but that can only go so far to create a pleasant experience for guests when the smell lingers and the sight of cracked mirrors, tiles and dark rooms with very limited natural light due to small windows doesn't leave a feeling of wanting to return when other hotels nearby offer a very competitive rate and much clearer experience.

Great location, good breakfast in the beefeater next door but the rooms are really dated and tired. Was expecting a knock on the door from the 1980's asking for it's decor back. Worn carpets, old tired headboard and pine bedside tables. No sockets anywhere near the bed just a couple on the same wall as the tv. Thought we maybe in for a vintage experience when handed a door key instead of a card. Overall it's ok. clean enough and reasonably quiet just majorly in need of modernisation.

Upon our first impressions the hotel was quite disappointing. The rooms were in the high 20s with no air conditioning, the water pressure in the shower was non existent the room was also extremely dated. There is rust and stains all over the bathroom as well however the beds were really good for me personally. There is an unpleasant smell in some parts of the corridor but fine for the most part. At 8 AM we were awoken by very loud crashing sounds and vehicle noises outside of our rooms and it contributes for about 30 minutes, leaving us to decide between a slightly colder room or a bit of quiet. The location I must say is fantastic however it is nowhere near necessities, costing me £15 in taxis just to get some water so keep that in mind. The building certainly needs a lot of work. EDIT: Please enquire about the portability of the water in the rooms as it had a very “off” taste to it.

Looks like one of the oldest ones in need of refurbishment.

The staff at this hotel were excellent—special thanks to Angela (I believe that was her name), who went above and beyond to cater for us. When we arrived, the Wi-Fi was down, so we couldn’t check in, but she made sure to send us to have a complimentary drink. Once the Wi-Fi was back up, she personally came to get us from the restaurant. She also gave us a spare key when we couldn’t find ours. A massive thanks as well to the two gentlemen who worked in the evening—they were so polite and welcoming, always checking if we needed anything. As for the actual hotel, the best words to describe it are disappointing and outdated. It’s incredibly old, and our room was filthy. There were pubes in the bath, which was stained yellow, clearly from years of use—absolutely disgusting! The linens and towels had a strange vinegar-like smell that was very unpleasant. The carpet was grimy, and I didn’t once walk barefoot. This hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment—and soon.

Very busy hotel with lots of contractors in big vans coming and going at all hours, leaving engines running whilst smoking in vehicles. Very noisy with doors being slammed, loud voices and banging about throughout the night. Not recommended if you want a good night's sleep. Will not be staying again.

Stayed for 2 nights with family. As premier inns go it’s a bit tired and needs a refurb. Toilet didn’t flush very well and there are lots of scuffs on the wall. That said the service and location are excellent. Plus lots of parking. Overall it’s fine for a short stay.

Great location with the lake and walks play areas and restaurant. Great friendly staff extremely helpful. The only let down i would say is shame key system is outdated and meant with one old style key between both of us became issue when not entering/leave together for any reason. But will be reusing

Great for a one night stop off. Handy being next door to a beefeater as well.

Not up to the standard of the usual Premier Inns, very disappointing. Hotel was grubby and dated. The carpets smelled of damp throughout and the room had a distinctive damp smell. Some fixtures in the room/bathroom were dirty or in need of replacing. I usually love a premier inn bed and although the bedding was clean, the bed was uncomfortable and dipped in the middle. No plug socket by bed. We had an evening meal in the attached restaurant and my partners meal was very poor quality. The staff were friendly and breakfast was nice. But would definitely not stay here again.

Issues claiming refund on double booked room in error as names weren't loaded correctly on Premier Inn's side (so they have no name), who are now refusing to help despite having reference number and paying from credit card. Will be pursuing further if no response. Very unprofessional
