Stopped for coffee and cannoli. Best coffee we have had for a long time. Other half normally has sugar. This coffee was sooooo smooth and flavoursome it needed nothing added. Lovely waitress explained ‘cannoli’. Decided on lemon - wasn’t disappointed. Nice quaint, atmospheric venue.

Fantastic fresh pasta, waitress was great, they really put the effort into the small details. Lovely atmosphere, and an open kitchen with the chef in.

A lovely evening at Prego. I had read the reviews and this was the first time I had been here. We chose from the specials menu, one of the dishes on the advice of the helpful waitress, and both mains were excellent. The cheesecake (one pistachio, the other caramel) was amazingly light and tasty. Good wine, good coffee. And a chat with each of the co-owners, Dave and Mandy. It's lovely to see entrepreneurs having an idea and then making it work, and these two have done this beautifully. We shall certainly be back.

Really delicious food, lovely friendly service, great choice of pasta. Dishes priced around £12-£18. This is a delightfully small independent restaurant full of character. I'll be back!

We popped in for a snack when having a mooch on Stockbridge High Street. The food is simply outstanding. We cannot recommend it enough. Modifications can be made to all meals. They also have an excellent selection of wines. The staff were welcoming and really knowledgeable about the food.

Our first visit to Prego last year (when on holiday) was such a great experience we just had to come back. We live 1.5 hours away or we’d be regulars, because of Dave’s wonderful food and Mandy’s joyful service. This couple clearly really care that you have a great time, and enjoy good food, made to order with skill and the best ingredients. Today I had the corbonara, and I can honestly say that it’s the best I’ve ever had (and I’m not young!!). One companion’s need for gluten free pasta was met without fuss, and the other, who wanted a vegetarian meal, had plenty of options but was also told she could choose any item from the menu and it could be adapted for her. It’s such a joy to visit a place where it’s all about delighting the customer. We couldn’t have been happier - and we’ll be back.

We alway visit this lovely little restaurant when in Stockbridge, depending on our time limit. The host's are fantastic and make you welcome which you can see for yourself by the amount of return custom. I'm a chatter and love talking to fellow customers, most of which are return trade! I'm not a religious person but if there is such a thing as heaven on earth i think i may well have found it!!!!!!!

Dave and Mandy never fail to disappoint. They really helped make a special birthday celebration exactly that, special. We had a wonderful meal, as always. Mandy & Dave are the most hospitable of hosts and the food, freshly cooked by Dave, was utterly delicious. The coffee is also one of the best you can buy. I could not recommend more highly.

Stopped by for gelato for the kids and had a coffee with my friend. The ambiance was magical and we received a warm welcome. There was elegance and charm in the restaurant, and the energy about the place was comforting and as if we’d been transported to somewhere other than England. The kids were delighted with the experience too.

Had an excellent birthday lunch. Perfectly cooked lobster and crab tortellini. They have a great selection of wines personally selected from the Garda region. Their choice and section makes the experience special.

Prego is the best place in Stockbridge for hospitality and good food. Mandy and Dave put their heart and soul into giving customers the very best experience. I would highly recommend anyone booking a table and giving this place a try. My absolute favourite is their tiramisu.

We came to Prego hoping to say hello to the angry abusive chef and we were met with fantastic warm hospitality, smiles and amazing food! We wasn’t even chased down the street!! Most disappointed :) We will be back!!

A regular spot for me on Saturday mornings. Coffee and scrambled eggs. Delicious and all with a warm welcome from owners and staff. Have also enjoyed the full dining experience here and such is the Italian restaurant's popularity that it's best to book a table and it's worth pointing out that this is not a pizza joint.

My wife and I have been going to this delightful little Italian restaurant for over 5 years and have always had excellent and delicious food. We cannot fault the service, although when it gets very busy you may wait a little longer. All food is cooked by Dave and the excellent standard is always consistent. Dave and Mandy are the perfect hosts and we would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. All we would say about any negative review is, just simply ignore them!

I went with my elderly mother and two teenage daughters. My mother had heard from a friend that it was supposed to be good so booked a table. Upon arrival we looked at the menu, which was very dated, all day breakfast or pasta - no vegetables or salads, and decided it wasn’t for us. We hadn’t ordered drinks or disrupted the table setting, so we stood up to leave. I told the waitress thank you, but it wasn’t really what we were looking for. She grunted at me but then the man interjected and started shouting at me. He told me they were very busy and we couldn’t just leave. I reminded him that it was the customer’s prerogative to do just that, especially if they were unimpressed by the menu. The man started shouting at the four of us and told us to get out and never come back! My mother was very upset by the experience, especially as the man continued shouting at us once we were on the high street. We went and had lunch at Time & Tide, which was lovely and more what we were looking for. Afterwards, as we walked back to our car, the man saw my daughters walking past (my mother and I were over the road in a shop) and he ran out and started screaming obscenities at the two girls and followed them menacingly down the street. They were extremely shaken. I can only guess that this man is extremely stressed, why else would he behave in such an aggressive and intimidating manner to two teenage girls, and why would he have such an extreme reaction to a table of four customers simply deciding to eat elsewhere. We were not rude in any way, in fact I thanked them and explained that it simply wasn’t what we wanted, but the abuse we had to endure was shocking! Steer well clear of this place! Rudeness doesn’t even begin to describe his behaviour - it was downright aggressive and bullying. What an absolutely horrible, frightening and intimidating experience.

By far the best restaurant around!! Food is wonderful- service is wonderful - atmosphere is wonderful. Thought twice about leaving a review as prefer to keep it to ourselves!!

Outstanding fresh pasta in this small but atmospheric Italian Bistro. I had the spag bol which had a smoked meat flavour - delicious. My wife had the seafood tagliatelle. The pasta arrived on the plate and the seafood in a copper saucepan - nice touch. Italian wine and coffee both excellent too. A fabulous meal the best we have had outside Italy. Everything was cooked fresh to order- the pasta and sauces were to die for and the ice cream devine. Our two Italian Spinone dogs were made to feel very welcome and were even provided with rugs to lie on. Surprised that the deli was opened on Friday evening (but found out later it was the monthly supper club) we stopped to buy cannoli. This turned into a 20 min chat, with Mandy and her sister who was visiting from Atherton (northerners like us!) with coffee, vino and lemon tart. Despite not being there for dinner, we were made to feel so welcome and will definitely be stopping for something to eat next time we are in the area. If food in a venue you are made to feel so welcome is what you are after then Prego is the place to go!
