Average food only four other tables at time of visit. Total lack of customer care and satisfaction refused a cocktail with dessert because of “government rules”. Simply not interested in the owners maximising profit and sales no wonder so many restaurants are coming bust ! Not sure why when mains taken away waitress did not ask if any alcoholic drinks required- owners take note simply happier standing about hoping the customers will leave sooner than later.

Booked for 15th Feb, so not Valentines. Food really very good, staff attentive, checking all was ok. However we booked for 7pm, had ordered by 7.15 and felt we were rushed through our dinner and dessert as we had finished these by 7.45pm at the latest. We then seemed to be left alone for the next half an hour not asked if we wanted another drink or coffee etc so we asked for the bill and went on to another pub. Which is a shame because they were very attentive to start, wasn’t busy so not as if they were rushed off their feet. Will still go back as food was really very good.

Popped in for a quick supper. The waiter was welcoming and, despite quickly becoming busy, gave very good service. We had an issue with one of the mains being swamped in pesto. I was insistent to pay full price as it might have been down to preference. Regardless, the bill was adjusted to reflect my disappointment. I’d highly recommend the prawns!

Very nice greeting and the waiting staff were attentive, however the seating is uncomfortable, i’m Sure customers will not be over staying there welcome. This was a birthday meal, however I was very disappointed with the wild mushroom Risotto, which appeared to be ordinary rice cooked in a stock, it was almost a rice soup as it was swimming in stock.

Visited with a friend between 7:00pm and 9:00pm on a Sunday evening. Most of the time only two tables occupied, later a third. But extremely noisy for the entire two hours. The staff were washing cutlery and glasses behind the bar area, and there was constant excessive banging and clattering of dishes and pans from the kitchen. Definitely not the place to go for a quiet meal! The family at the second table were not impressed with the constant clattering from the kitchen either. Not surprising the establishment up the road was busy but they weren’t. This was a birthday celebratory meal ruined, but I will not make this mistake again. As for the food, it was variable. I had the “rustic” pizza —- something I have had before at other Italian restaurants—- but the pizza base here was very chewy. A disappointment and not up to the standard of the other restaurants I’m used to. But the Italian bread starter was good, and my friend liked the lasagna. But eating out is not about gulping down food of variable quality in an industrial environment. We battled to get the attention of the two waiting staff chatting behind the bar so we could get our bill. Even though there were no tables left to serve. Overall, not great and too noisy to have a quality meal out. Not recommended.

1 hour wait for the bread after being told they forgot the order. This was after it took them 25 minutes to take it in the first place. Had to ask for the drinks twice! The waitress is obviously a family member as she was so useless that no one not related would ever hire her. Now I hear you say that it must have been busy to get this level of service. .. 5 tables out of the whole restaurant had people on them. Wow what incompetence! The only reason I can see the good reviews is because of the low quality elsewhere.

We had a fabulous meal here on 19/5/2018. The Calamari and Chicken Wings were hot, fresh and cooked to perfection. Hubby had the Chicken Calzone which was huge (but he managed to eat it all) with chips which were the best we had tasted. Hot, crisp and fluffy. I had the Crab Linguine which was full of white crab meat and generously positioned. We couldn't manage an afters However it was very very quiet, the restaurant nearly empty and we had 4 waitresses tending to us which became a bit much. Still, we will definately being going back there again .

Mains were a tasty mushroom risotto and a spicy Italian pizza with just enough spice for my pallet. My first visit and I’d heard mixed reviews. I have to say it’s in a good location and has a good ambiance. The staff were very friendly and drinks and food were all served promptly. I had the Prawn Linguine which was tasty and I couldn’t fault, presented well too. However, a friend had the same and found a staple in one of her prawns. That said it was dealt with promptly. An apologetic member of staff, food replaced quickly and cost removed from bill. I only had a main meal but my share of the bill was high considering, which was down to the highly priced drinks. I shared 2 bottles of processco with friends that with my main meal (no starter or pudding) came to £30. I felt that to be steep!

We visited midweek and it was very quiet. Service was good. Had a nice seat by window. Only one beer available and draught not available at Andover. Bread platter very enjoyable, olives were ok but have had better. Can recommend the garlic prawn starter, slightly salty for my taste but not enough to put me off. Steak was excellent but the tomato and red onion salad was a disappointment. It was just tomato wedges (I expected slices) and a few onion rings. It looked as if they had just been put on the plate with no care. Overall the food was good so on that score a success but the drinks are a bit on the expensive side for the selection of wine and beer.

My grown up daughter and I ate here on Saturday evening. We were shown to a table between, and underneath, two very noisey air conditioners and were so cold, we asked to be moved. The next table was fine. My daughter ordered a pollo con funghi, a variation on an Italian Escalope Milanese. The chicken was a bit dry and the sauce looked suspiciously 'ready made.' However, she said it was perfectly acceptable and was happy with the mixed salad and chips which accompanied the main meal. I ordered linguine with prawns. The linguine was beautifully cooked, and the sauce was delicious BUT the prawns were completely raw inside, dangerously so! I sent the meal back, to be presented with the exact same state of prawns second time round, so I compromised and just ate the pasta, placing the prawns on a separate plate to go back to the kitchen. I was not charged for my meal, so all credit to them. However, one staff member got extremely defensive and insisted it was all my fault and that I knew nothing about cooking prawns! I do, I live on the French Coast and eat stacks of shellfish. I understand that in turning pink, they had indeed been chucked in a pan and quickly sautéed, but they were absolutely raw and cold inside, so just the outside of them had been cooked. This is not a safe way of eating prawns and nor is the taste acceptable. The flesh should still be soft, but it should not be cold and raw.It was a dreadfully noisey restaurant, but the tables were generously sized, and the chairs were comfortable .If anything, I'd say there were too many staff, some of whom were rather invasive on our privacy. More training is needed here! I asked for the bill, to be given the wrong one, so that was another source of contention. Not one member of staff I spoke to was Italian. The menu was very mixed up indeed and certainly not akin to an authentic one eaten at three nights earlier in Central London, which was absolutely superb. I lived in Italy for several years, and know good Italian food when I come across it, which was most definitely not at Villagio. It was a disappointment, as it could be great.Would I try Villagio again? Not whilst under its current ownership.

We booked this restaurant for my Mum's 60th birthday. We ate here on a Saturday lunchtime, and I was very impressed. It wasn't busy at all, two or three other tables of guests, so we had excellent service without sharing the waitress/waiter with other hungries. The restaurant has good disabled access, one point to note though is that their disabled toilet was out of service during our visit, not ideal, but thankfully not a crisis. For a British Italian restaurant I was impressed by their menu. More authentic than many chain restaurants, but still very much catering to the British tastes and perceptions of what 'Italian food' should be. They had pizza, pasta and a main meat menu available. It's not what you get in Italy, but it's far better than many I have visited. We started with a garlic pizza bread between us. I followed that up with Linguine Pollo piccante, a spicy creamy chicken pasta dish. I was so impressed by the portion size too. Very generous! The rest of my family had pizzas, which they all really enjoyed. For dessert I indulged in chocolate ice cream, my Dad had vanilla, and my husband had a chocolate mascarpone cheescake (divine!). My Mum received a complementary short glass of Tia Maria as it was her birthday, that was a kind and special addition to the meal.Overall, I was very impressed, and would definitely visit here again. So many other dishes to try. Looking forward to trying their antipasti!

I have been to this restaurant a few times now and find it very interesting. The waitress that we have had always vary but if you talk to them they are very helpful and engaging. I have found that the meals are good and honest priced, they are not looking at anything to fancy and don't price themselves out of the market. If you are looking for a genuine Italian restaurant feeling....this is not hte place to go at all. The food is good but as mentioned, its honest but not authentic. The servers are very sweet and engaging but generally from Eastern Europe, thats not to say they do a bad job because as mentioned the service is brilliant and they are very friendly and its easy to chat to them. Its just doesn't fit with an authentic Italian restaurant. I find that Italian restaurants these days are too easy to open and its to easy to serve 'Italian' food but i will always prefer the authentic over the generic. If you like eating 'Italian' at places like Pizza Express, Zizzi's or ASK then this place will fit the bill nicely.

Villagio are a small chain of Italian restaurants, the Andover branch is in the Guildhall in the centre of town. The Guildhall is a listed building which probably explains the restaurant’s rather anonymous entrance, a small door on one side of the building. Inside the decor is excellent, with a large dining area. We had a table next to the windows, enabling us to watch the good folk of Andover in the high street. The menu contains the usual Italian dishes, and the food is very good, tasty, well presented, with reasonable prices. The wine list is not large, but the Chianti is very good. Service is good, and friendly, the staff are well informed about the dishes. As its nearby I’ll return soon.

. Villagio is inside the Guildhall so the setting is impressive; I wondered whether the food would live up to it. Villagio describes itself as a “convenient, modern Italian restaurant with a classic family menu”. It’s a chain, with a few locations around (mainly) Hampshire that says it offers live music in the evenings – but looking at the website, every single thing they have between now and Christmas is either a Frank Sinatra or a Michael Buble tribute act. So if you don’t like that sort of thing it may not be the best choice! The menu is quite broad as it offers most types of Italian dishes – pasta, risotto, pizza, meat, fish. I love calzone pizza and don’t have it very often, so was tempted by the seafood ravioli on the specials board but plumped for the pollo calzone, containing chicken, pepperoni, pancetta, roasted peppers, tomato sauce and mozzarella instead (£11.50). My friend did ask for the special ravioli, but the waitress returned to our table to say they had run out – surprising as it was only 6pm but I guess they must have served a lot at lunchtime. My pizza was very good – nice dough and stuffed full, with a side salad to accompany. I did think it was a bit expensive for what it was, but maybe the location puts this restaurant at the top end of the town centre choices in Andover. We shared a mozzarella garlic pizza bread as a starter, which was pretty average – I’ve had very similar and often better versions of this in other Italian restaurants. Overall though it was a nice meal with friendly and speedy service.

Excellent food, lovely staff especially waitress Michaella; what a lovely girl she is. Fabulous location too. Only 1 criticism, the tiramisu, although delicious, was a little heavy.

Have wanted to try this place for a while and decided to try today, what a disappointment! Requested hot plates and on arrival were just tepid which consequently made the sauce congeal very quickly on the overcooked chicken. The side of rocket was slimy due to being passed it's sell by date. Frozen chips, not a place I would recommend!

Came here for our daughters 9th birthday. We had kids garlic bread, King prawns and calamari for starters and then kids bolognese, Chicken milanese and pollo piccante pizza. All of it was great and the service was good too.

I have only eaten in Italian restaurants abroad when they were part of the all inclusive alternatives and for that reason I did not really consider them to be authentic, neither the high street fast food eateries. At long last at a pre Christmas family gathering, there came an opportunity to try the local Villagio, one of a small chain. It is located in the Guildhall building in one large room which does rather give the impression of sitting in a large canteen at lunchtime. This was lunchtime on a Saturday being market day in Andover but there were only a handful of other diners at any one time we were there. It did not spoil the atmosphere with some discrete music playing and of course excellent service. I had the Penne Pollo Funghi which was very good and I know the other guests all enjoyed theirs. We took time over our lunch with no pressure to leave and I would dearly like to return, preferably in the evening with perhaps some live music.

We booked in for the live music night (Michael Bublé tribute) and it was brilliant. Food was just as good quality as normal, even though they had a table of 40 in to serve, and the service was great. The singer was so good and we are lucky to have such an old venue as a restaurant. Sitting by the window, looking at all the Christmas lights down the town, listening to live Christmas music and eating delicious food - perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. This place is a gem in Andover & we try to go every couple of weeks to support it, especially now a rival pizza place is established! Please don't forget about it and try to help keep our high street different from hundreds of others!

Food was ok, not a huge amount of taste. Service was pretty slow, took a number of attempts from multiple people to get a beer. Nice looking restaurant, not to bad on price. Get what you pay for i guess.

situado justo en el centro del pueblo, la comida es excelente, y el servicio muy agradable. Una muy buena opción si se quiere escapar del famoso Pub britanico y el típico beef o fish and chips

12 people well looked after on a quite Tuesday night in Andover. Food served hot, on time and with a smile. Try the arancini starter, very nice and the pasta special. The only thing that let it down was the lack of atmosphere which had the live act planned turned up wouldn't of been an issue, something we should have been made aware of as we booked for that reason!

A long overdue catch up was arranged with a meal at Villagio.. First impressions were positive. Clean welcoming staff member who showed us to our table. We had to grab the attention of a waiter to order drinks after waiting for 15minutes.. Slight mistake with drinks order, but quickly rectified.. The main meals were delivered fairly quick, my friend ordered a burger with cheese, which was missing the cheese. My choice was lovely. I chose the Sea Bass, which was cooked to mouthwatering perfection... Desserts: We decided on the cheesecake, a lovely finish to the meal..

Situated in the Guildhall building in the centre of Andover, this Villagio Italian restaurant is one of seven in a small chain. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in explaining the 'specials' that were additional to the main menu. Service was prompt and the food was very good. The menu features a good selection of varied Italian dishes and the prices seemed very reasonable. Would certainly go again and also try other branches.

I've been here a couple of times now and it's been exceptional every time. On a busy Friday night we had a table booked and were seated straight away and the service was great. Alternatively, on quieter nights during the week we've gone in and had a fabulous time. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent.

We dined as a large group on a Saturday evening. I had heard mixed reviews on Villagio, so was apprehensive about both the food and service. I stuck with an Italian themed meal, antipasto starter, that was very good and a pizza light (a smaller pizza) served with a delicious salad. In general the whole group enjoyed their meals, although I did think the steak meal did not look too special. Service was good, but then we were there for the evening. The servers were all very friendly and smiling! I would return, it's a reasonable food and a reasonable cost.

Dropped in whilst in town and was very pleasantly surprised but both the service and the food. The ambiance was relaxing and the waitress who served us could not have been more attentive. Food was very tasty and appeared to have been cooked fresh. Im allergic to shellfish and they went out of their way to assure me that my meal would be prepared away from any shellfish, which I appreciated their concern.

We were looking for an authentic Italian restaurant during a short visit to Andover and we could not have made a better choice. The ambience of the restaurant was very relaxed, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. My starter was baked avocado and it was so delicious I want to learn how to make it myself! We dined here on a Sunday evening and we were the only customers - which can sometimes be a bit worrying - but in general, the town centre was deserted as well.

Been here once and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service and food was fab. It wasn't very populated, not sure why, which meant it was quiet and extra care was taken from the waiting staff. I recommend this place.

The Villagio Ristorante – surprise, surprise – specialises in Italian food, served in generous portions and in a relaxed and informal setting, despite the premises once being the elegant Andover Town Hall. There is a varied menu, covering the usual Italian delicacies and, of course, specialising in large, mouth-watering pizzas. You can eat alfresco when the sun is out, provided you don't mind the hustle and bustle of the surrounding shops in what is the heart of Andover. Service is always friendly, and the food of a high standard considering the prices are not frightening. A very good venue for a casual evening out.

Hmmm sorry but not one of my favs, ok maybe for lunch but never really enjoyed an evening meal here. Very noisy and loud music so much so you cant have a conversation, food not as good as price would suggest and before you finish first course the main course arrives so you always feel rushed, have been a few times as i really like Italian food but this nearly always dissapoints.

The sqiuid and bruschetta starters were a bit bland, But mains of Tuscan Sausage and prawn pasta were both very good. The salted caramel chocolate bar was a bit bizarre like a confectionery sweet, which was difficult to cut with a blob of cream. The staff were friendly enough, after a rather brusk greeting from the manager, possibly?
