Prego Bar & Eatery in Sunderland

We visited on Saturday, there was 12 of us in total for my mams 65th birthday bottomless brunch The only disappointed thing was the bar had apparently ran out of Prosecco, which is hard to believe when it’s advertising Prosecco on the bottomless brunch. I asked for some little bottles, for a toast & was given the last bottle plus 2 small ones, it still wasn’t enough. The cocktails were lovely, a few wrong orders but luckily we aren’t fussy. The food order was taken, one of the party waited a lot long than the rest of us. I would recommend the pizzas. The staff were lovely, just wouldn’t like to see them under pressure, it took a while for the drinks order & the place wasn’t busy, I would recommend it, it wasn’t the best we’ve been on but it certainly wasn’t the worst Good choice of cocktails

Lovely evening with extended family celebrating the expected arrival of a beautiful new baby girl. Great to meet everyone, lovely staff and great food.

We had a lovely weekend at pregos. We booked a table for my friends birthday, it was first time we'd been. Honestly we couldn't fault pregos. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially the young lads who served us. One lad helped us split the bill, so we could pay for individual meal and another gave my friend a pizza box to takeaway, as he couldn't finish all his pizza. The food was delicious too with plenty of choice at affordable prices. Definitely will be recommending this place to more friends and will be returning.

Best Sunday lunch we have ever had, service was excellent and staff were very polite and couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely be back!

The food was absolutely delicious. Ordered from the’ ‘happy hour’ - 2 courses for £14.95. We had potato skins with garlic mayo and the Kiev pizza and we were surprised at the large portion sizes for the potato skins and the size of the pizzas. Staff were really nice. Definitely be returning with family and other friends.

Came for my partners mums birthday, service was flawless and chloe went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect. We laughed hard, food was amazing and atmosphere… despite being a Monday night, was great . Would go back again without hesitation. Thankyou

Went in for a ‘quick coffee’ with the family after the Boxing Day dip. It was not to be however. It was quickly busy with only one guy serving in the bar to begin with. Getting three hot drinks took 40 minutes. You couldn’t order food, then they ran out of milk, then they ran out of cups and had to use paper ones. We ordered our drinks four times because their ordering system didn’t seem to work, and having paid for them once was asked to pay for them a second time. People who ordered their drinks after us were served before us, and the staff said they’d no idea it was Boxing Dip day. Just to make things worse the manager breezed in to tell the two staff they were doing a great job. Hate to see a bad one?

The food was blunt, service very slow, very rude waiters, wouldn't recommend to anyone, used to be our favourite place to go they must have change chef because the quality as went down, really disappointed, very unprofessional floor staff

This is our third visit to Prego and we have never been disappointed yet! On this trip I had the 8oz rump steak, cooked medium and it was perfect, actually looked bigger than advertised. My wife had a chicken dish for main and sticky toffee pudding as a dessert and said both were lovely. There was a large table of around 20 there for a birthday party and the friendly staff coped well and on both previous visits, they bring out a birthday cake and all the staff join in singing happy birthday! Would highly recommend .

Waited an hour and half for a bowl of pasta, chips and a burger on a quiet evening. Food was mediocre at best. Chips greasy and the rest not worth waiting the time for. Not the bar staffs fault but they get the brunt of the complaints. Tried to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt a number of times but not again. Poor poor poor.

We (7 of us) ordered our drinks at 6:05 pm, the waiter didn’t look like he could be bothered☹️ Our starters arrived at 6:40pm,two ordered potato skins and received sliced potato that was barely cooked, we asked for our 7 year old pizza to be served with our starters but after we asked where it was they had forgot it, at 7:30 pm the waiter came to us and said, we are closing next week for 7 days so the kitchen has no cheese, no pizza bases, and no salmon which were all required for our order 🤷🏼 we eventually found out what the kitchen had left and ordered accordingly, The Moratti beer was flat! To say this meal was poor would be the understatement of the year!!!!!

We visited as a group of 9 for lunch. The food was beautiful the service 5 star. We had a young girl serving us she so was lovely and friendly. We will be back.

Came to Prego on Saturday afternoon , very quiet , had 2 calamari which were over cooked so were ruined , mains were sea bass and sirloin steak which were lovely . Will try again with the calamari .

Really poor food and not as per the menu described. Even the waiter agreed !!!! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Bland and no taste after waiting over an hour to have it delivered. So disappointing.

Yesterday 1st August I went to this restaurant for lunch with my wife. At first everything seemed fine until we both ordered two medium rare fillet steaks as main courses, the first time they came out, they were like a stone, they were overdone. They offered us to changed it, then the problem came when the second time the steaks came out I had to leave more than half of mine because it was raw, so raw that it was even bleeding, literally disgusting. To all this I add that it was a bill of 90 Pounds in total for the two of us, I paid and left after the bad meal, thanks god they offered us a discount at the end. Really good service

mixed review ,ordered 2 pizzas 1 calzone and one Kiev . the Kiev was decent enough but the calzone was literally stone cold in the middle ,outside was overdone ,possibly far 2 much on the inside .was took back and reheated but just not enjoyable at all and majority was just left ,shocking that it come out like that tbh . no refund or discount offered very poor realy . staff were nice enough and did apologise but the chefs had a bit of a nightmare on this occasion

Visited last night and was very impressed overall. Bit of a strange place and wasn't sure when we first entered having walked past a games room then a diner style area with kids running around. However, there is a separate restaurant area which was much closer to what we were expecting. Service was good but the food was exceptional. Really good value, huge portions and very tasty. Went for the black pudding and prawn cocktail for starters followed by the penne pesto and seabass for mains. All really lovely and washed down by a very nice bottle of pinot grigio too. There were a couple of birthdays being celebrated too with the staff getting involved in full on renditions of Happy birthday so if you're looking for a quiet, romantic evening, this maybe not for you but otherwise, definitely worth a try.

Having just got back from Spain yesterday we booked the restaurant in advance with another couple to beat those holiday blues . So pleased we did seen as it’s been a miserable day. The food was absolutely delicious, I’d say the best garlic Bread and tagliatelle carbonara I’ve ever tasted l! My husbands friend got the double burger from the 2 course special menu it was huge and he said it was very tasty . Beautiful , funky decor and excellent service from the waiters who made us laugh and brought the food out promptly. Really could not fault any of it . There’s also a bar area too which does walk inns But I’d definitely suggest booking a table in the restaurant section as it really is lovely.
