Went for date night and we both had lovely pizzas. Diavolo for hubby and proscuitto funghi for me. Great food, great service, great music. Perfecto!

Friendly service and amazing food! A must-try in Whitley Bay.

An excellent meal in a very family-friendly environment. We had an amazing smoked cheese starter with pizza and pasta as the main feature. Everything was fantastic and very delicious. All of the staff were very polite, professional, and friendly with a special mention to louise who was great and entertained our girl whilst doing a great job.

Arrived just as they were closing but they managed to squeeze us in (the service was exceptional as was the food) One of the best Italian restaurant I've been in - and that includes Italy.Friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

I highly recommend this restaurant in Whitley Bay, just a minute or two walk from the Metro station. The food is excellent especially the tomato, garlic bread and the service is friendly and efficient. I think other Italian restaurants in the NE can learn a lot and be inspired by this restaurant.

Very good, can't think of a better place to go to, unless you like Bologna, as l do, for Italian food. Pizza is always lovely. Carbonara is very good, no cream and has Guanciale as well. Roll on the next visit.

What a lovely place to eat. Friendly atmosphere with professional service and fabulous food.

Food and service were outstanding. Burrata was smoked to perfection, served with sun-dried tomatoes and a wonderful salty prosciutto that complimented the cheese. I had the osso bucco, which was delicious and melted in the mouth and was served with a unctuous cheesy polenta. I was too full for pud, but greedy enough to take home a pistachio canollo for breakfast. The wine list was very good. We had a sparkling rose.

Food was excellent - a good selection and good quality at reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly and were attentive - not too much, not too little! This is a great restaurant to visit and I would certainly recommend.

This place is a true neighbourhood gem. The service is warm and friendly. They are committed to authentic presentations of fresh, delicious Italian food from all the different regions of Italy. We feel so welcomed here - they accommodate children brilliantly with colouring books and games provided. It feels like a real family restaurant, but with truly delicious and adorable food. We went for Sunday lunch today and I will dream of that porchetta from now on. It was one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in ages.

Brilliant place for a family meal with a 3 month old baby and 4 year old. Staff were lovely and really helpful in making everyone welcome, moving furniture to make space so we could all relax and enjoy the food, which was excellent

Absolutely superb wine tasting event tonight (Tues 5th March 2024). Prosecco on arrival, 4 glasses of superb whites and 4 glasses of equally good reds. Four fantastic food courses; divine! Finished off with a glass of limoncello. Great service from friendly staff too. Thanks to all involved; a really enjoyable evening.

Excellent hidden little gem of an Italian in Whitley Bay!

2nd visit to this wonderful Trattoria and even better than the 1st time with a wider menu choice and of course a fabulous choice of wines , amazing family history with memorabilia adorning the walls, looked after by very knowledgeable and helpful staff, and then of course the food , wow , its easy to see why it has been voted no 1 restaurant in whitley bay and it fully deserves the accolade, looking forward to our next visit, ideal for couples and families alike everyone is made very welcome 😁

Been twice. Nice wine and puddings. Wasn’t that overwhelmed with the carbonara, frankly. Even though it was done properly, without cream, which is how it should be. I was a bit underwhelmed with my main both times. The frosty service from the owner didn’t help. The waitresses were nice enough though. We felt hurried out. Probably wouldn’t go back based on the service.

First time visit today after a recommendation from a friend and certainly exceeded expectations. The food was amazing, from the starter to the authentic Italian pizza. 10/10 to the chef, great vibe in the restaurant and the service was just great, the team were efficient and attentive. Pranzo is mine and my husband’s favourite place to go for food! Celebrations or just because we want amazing food and great wine, it’s always our first choice! The food is soo good, with a great choice (even if we have our solid favourites) as is the wine which we definitely take advantage of. The addition of the regional menu always adds an exceptional alternative, so you can never run out of options. The service is always friendly but professional and there is always someone happy to help you make a decision/recommend some wine! The atmosphere again is always friendly and whether it’s a little quieter or really busy you feel at home yet very well looked after. Always recommended to our friends and family! Please visit, you will not be disappointed.

Best Italian trattoria in the North East ! Pablo is so welcoming and his food is very tasty.

Pablo and the team have created the perfect, family friendly, Italian trattoria in Whitley Bay. The food, from the standard pizza menu to the weekly destion themed specials, is always delicious and high quality. Service is warm, quick and welcoming. The new addition of Italian style Sunday roast is the icing on the cake - go go go!

WOW....a must! If you want the real deal, authentic Italian then this the place to go. Our first time today, could not fault the exquisite food, the most friendly staff,who know what they are talking about, (listen to their recommendations) and an owner Pablo who is the best of Italy personified in whitley Bay! I can not recommend this restaurant enough and we shall certainly be returning. Thankyou for such an enjoyable experience.

Bit of a mixed one. We had a booking for two on a Friday night. Lovely buzz about the place, service was amazing, all staff very friendly. Probably about 20 minutes after ordering, we were informed that because of some technical issue, our check hadn’t gone to the kitchen so there would be a delay with our food, they assured they would make an effort to get it out quick because of this. We waited for a while longer and shared starter came, we enjoyed it and then began our wait for the mains. For a simple pasta and pizza it took absolutely ages, around 45 minutes. Quite annoying as another two covers next to us who arrived later had three courses and left before we even had our mains. There was no offer of a complimentary dessert or drinks despite us having to wait so long on account of a restaurant error. Frankly the pizza was great but the pasta was just okay, fairly bland. Certainly not worth the price which is on the high side. Sadly we left feeling a bit deflated given all the great things we’d heard about this place. All in all, an okay experience. Likely won’t be returning though, pity as we’re both lovers of authentic Italian food.

Our third visit and still fantastic. Fabulous food, staff and venue. Very accommodating for kids too when we’ve taken the little one. Can’t wait to return.

Had carbonara in Rome a few times and pranzo made better. Proper guancale and the sauce was perfect. Starters and tiramisu also top tier. Service great too

Been to this incredible restaurant perhaps 4 times now. Every time we love it. Staff and owners are amazing and especially fantastic with our 3 year old who now gets excited at the prospect. Fantastic to find somewhere who care so much about what they do. Already looking forward to the next time.

We’ve been going to Pranzo’s for the past year and all I can say is that it is so relieving to have an authentic Italian restaurant in North Tyneside! The food and service is incredible. The pasta menu is fantastic, with a personal favourite being the proper Carbonara (no cream, and guanciale being used instead of pancetta). Service-wise the staff are friendly and always go the extra mile – we take our baby a lot and they help by having iPhone holders which help us show nursery rhymes to her so we can enjoy the rare chance to eat in peace. Posto fantastico!!!!

Really nice place and easy to get to. Friendly staff, lovely foccacias and mains, reasonable prices (including pints) and a bit of an identity compared to other Italian places. Mostly pizzas with a few pasta dishes. Music was on low when we were there, which i always prefer

Really amazing authentic Italian food. Me and my friend dropped in for lunch on wednesday about 1ish and were seated easily, although there was still a lively buzz of people inside. I had been eyeing up the place online and noticed they have specials covering lots of regional pasta dishes from Italy, instead of the usual fare - the same old dishes done everywhere else - and I had high hopes. Saying that, we both had the carbonara which was divine. Cooked without cream. The crispy guanciale, with its fat forming a silky sauce with the pecorino and egg. We had one of the special focaccias to start with fior di latte, artichokes and sausage with a truffle oil which was amazing and a perfect size for 2. We were too full for dessert but everything in the fridge looked amazing. I will be back!

Amazing authentic Italian food in a wonderfully welcoming restaurant. Very friendly staff, great location and love the changing Italian regional menu. The pizzas are also bloody fantastic. A real gem and very lucky to have this as one of our local Italian restaurants.

This is the best Italian restaurant we’ve been to outside of Italy. We love Italian food and we like it cooked using traditional Italian ingredients. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting. The staff couldn’t be nicer, and even assist with the correct Italian pronunciation of the dishes which we appreciate. The menu is fantastic, it ranges from regional dishes to family favourites, there really is something to suit all palates. The pizzas are the best we’ve eaten in the UK, I can’t recommend them enough. Once you’ve tried one you won’t want to eat anywhere else. The quality of the ingredients used shines through, so much love must have gone into planning and executing each dish. We feel so blessed to have such an amazing place to eat near our home.

Loud and bustling with a cramped but homey atmosphere, food is excellent and the service was funny. Glad I overbooked my car in the parking outside as it took half an hour to waddle back after stuffing myself on the best authentic Italian cuisine in Whitley bay. The price may be steep but the quality is steeper I feel like I underpaid at the end for what I received.
