Pranzo Trattoria & Deli in North Tyneside

This was my first visit to Pranzo and I wasn't disappointed. The small restaurant has a lovely vibe to it, and even though it was busy we didn't feel crowded. The welcome from the staff was warm, the owner (Pablo) taking time to greet guests and make some excellent recommendations from the food and drinks menus. My wife had an amazing carbonara and I had one of their excellent pizzas. Cannot praise this place enough, we will definitely be back.

Enjoyed the Sunday dinner immensely. And the strawberry ice cream. Family meal was excellent Brisket was lovely the Italian Yorkshire pudding an potato were very good

We came here only to have coffee but ended up having so much more. Thank you to the lovely hospitality from the owner. She was lovely. We had a delicious pizza, a tiramisu, profiteroles and coffee. It was the ultimate hospitality for someone who loves italian food and who takes italian food very seriously.

Stopped in on a whim after seeing the high ratings and it did not disappoint! Very lucky to grab the last high table for 2 so pre booking would be advised. Great atmosphere, quick service, delicious food and lovely staff! The burrata and speck e broccoli pasta were big winners for us, fab experience all round!

Arrived on a busy Saturday night and the staff were very helpful in squeezing us in (5of us). Buzzing atmosphere and the real feel of Italy. Very knowledgable staff helped with a great wine selection and knew all the details of the menu. Food was incredible. Definite return visit from us.

Had our first visit here last night and it won't be the last. From the second we arrived to a really warm welcome, the kind help with the menu, the delicious food and the great service, everything was fabulous. It's not the cheapest, but the quality of the ingredients and skills of the chefs make it a very authentic and special experience. Thank you to all, we will be back!

Amazing and "vero" italian carbonara. You can't go wrong on Pranzo. The staff is amazing and the menu always bring amazing and very fresh and well prepared italian dishes. Always a nice choice!

Really lovely spot! Came in by chance after not having been before and we’re both really impressed with everything. Seated so quickly, the staff are so attentive and friendly and really caring about the fact I was 9 months pregnant and we also had a nut allergy on the table (nightmare duo!) but we will absolutely be back with our new baby and our toddler at some point soon and cannot recommend the place more to other people too :) thanks so much all!

Went with a friend for a late lunch. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff when we walked in who was very pleasant and chatty. The place looks lovely, decorated nicely with a cosy rustic atmosphere. Everything seemed clean and tidy too. The food came in good time, was served red hot, and was very tasty. Pricing isn't bad either. I'd definitely return here for some nice food and excellent service.

Excellent spot for Sunday lunch. Pizza, pasta, and beef and pork dishes were all very tasty. Foccscia bread to start with was also perfect finished off with a nice light pudding. Service was excellent and attentive.

We had a fab lunch (pizza and wine) today. Nicola was a great host and Daisy was so chatty too - then we met Puablo who was in their deli across the road (bought some lovely goodies). They specialise in being authentic Italian.

Delicious Italian food and brilliant service!

A taste of little Italy in Whitley Bay. This place is just amazing. Easily one of the best Italians I have ever visited. At first glance you might not recognise some of the items in the menu. Go with it, the staff are super knowledgeable about their food, and will keep you right. Don't worry, they do the most amazing pizzas if that is what you are looking for, proper thin crust stone baked. I had the - malloreddus di spigola. (Small pasta shells with shredded sea bass, anchovies, olives, and cherry tomatoes). Truly delicious! The carbonara is something like you have never had before! Unless of course you have been to a small village in the south of Italy. Ask the staff about the meat in it, pigs cheek, I couldn't do it justice trying to describe how they cook it. Pick any pizza topping you like, and you will enjoy it. It is a small restaurant so book, it is bustling with atmosphere and that and the decor - you could be sitting in the Mediterranean! The ingredients are sourced from Italy and you can tell! Even the drinks are what you would get over there. I can't recommend this place highly enough. A wonderful experience

I highly recommend this restaurant in Whitley Bay, just a minute or two walk from the Metro station. The food is excellent especially the tomato, garlic bread and the service is friendly and efficient. I think other Italian restaurants in the NE can learn a lot and be inspired by this restaurant.

Have just had an incredible pizza, delicious wine and a lovely couple of hours with my best friend. Going through a tough time and it was so good to spend time in a place where the staff are so kind and are so intent on you enjoying yourselves. Perfect

Very overdue review. Pranzo is an Italian neighborhood style restaurant just a few minutes walk from Whitley bay metro station. It was a busy Friday evening, but the lovely staff managed to accommodate us at a window table overlooking the outdoor area. It was so nice, I would specifically book it again! We had polenta and burrata to start, followed by sage and walnut risotto and a pizza from the specials menu. Great selection of Italian wines, the friuli was delicious. We finished our wine in the garden - with nice warm blankets to keep out the chill. A deli has opened just over the road which I'll be trying very soon. Would absolutely recommend as one of the nicest places to eat on the North Tyneside coast.

Phenomenal. Food, wine and vibe. Just perfect.

Always judge an Italian on their carbonara. If they can't do that right there's no point in going back. This is one of the best I've had. Rich and creamy with perfectly cooked crispy guanciale. All achieved, most importantly, without cream. How it should be. I look forward to coming back and trying more.

I just had an amazing sandwich from the deli - I'm really impressed, reminds me of my recent trip to Bologna and Florence and the sandwiches I would eat there. I will definitely be back

Basically a pizza restaurant. No hot starters, poor & very limited pasta choice. The reviews raved about the carbonara, but it's not available on the evening menu, only at lunchtime. They did, however, apologise for the (very long) wait & deducted money from the bill, so grateful for that.

An all round excellent experience for our family meal of 10 on an important family occasion. The food is authentically Italian (confirmed by my Italian sister in law) and the waiters are both entertaining and efficient.

Staff are very friendly and approachable, we had the Torino sandwich (vegetarian option). It was lovely and very filling and reasonable for the price. Definitely coming back in the future x

We visited Pranzo last night with friends and had an amazing night. The food and wine was excellent using local Italian ingredients. The staff looked after us with help and suggestions for our choices for food and local Italian wine. Can't wait for their new delicatessen to open.

An excellent meal in a very family-friendly environment. We had an amazing smoked cheese starter with pizza and pasta as the main feature. Everything was fantastic and very delicious. Top notch authentic Italian food.

Very good, can't think of a better place to go to, unless you like Bologna, as l do, for Italian food. Pizza is always lovely. Carbonara is very good, no cream and has Guanciale as well. Roll on the next visit.
