Lovely food but really really slow service. We had to ask for drinks and for each course. It was 2 hours before we got our main courses. And it was so cold in there. I asked them to turn the heating on / up twice.

Just picked up our takeaway over an hour later than the stated time only to find the order was incorrect, this was giving this establishment a second chance after a disappointing visit with friends before Christmas, needless to say we won't be using them again.

Seriously excellent meal, the Kasmiri lamb shank was wonderful and the Bhindi bahji superb with sliced green chill included. Asked for it Asian style and will be revisiting them. Very seldom do I find a curry around here that is anything other than passable, this was a delight!!!

As none of the email addresses work and no phone calls seem to make a difference please see our formal complaint on here: Good afternoon, We decided to order a take out from yourselves on friday 9th july at 18:30. We were advised it could be 1-1:30 for delivery which we were happy with. Gone 8pm we rung again to be asked if we ordered via just eat... not sure what difference that should make... and advised the driver should be outside. 15min later we rung again and we were told it will be another 5 min (clearly the first update was a lie, why?). The second update was also a lie as the order was nowhere to be seen. Another phone call and so on. We finally were told there would be no charge for our order and food arrived luke warm 3hrs since ordering. By then I put another dinner in the oven as couldn't deal with lies any longer. What really annoyed us is that part if order was missing, 3 large beers we asked for. So you felt that after 3hrs of wait we didn't deserve to have our full order given to us for free. I then spoke to lady manager who apologies and advised was sending driver with those..... Following day I rung at 6pm and spoke with another manager who has heard about our experience the night before and didn't apologise but advised he would send beers out after 8pm as they were busy. It's now sunday, 24hrs since we placed the order and guess what you still haven't fulfilled the promise of me getting my order for free as the beers have not arrived. It is completely out of order. Why were we not told upon the chase no 1 that you were so busy would be better for us to cancel the order. Why have you promised our order free of charge then decided not to deliver alcohol. Do we not mean anything to you as customers? Why I had to speak with two MANAGAERS to be promised delivery and still waiting? Again, how can you run a business like this? To be fair I am not sure if i will hear back from you and certainly whatever you say or promise won't happen anyway. We will not be returning ever again and we will be telling everyone locally how have you treated us.totally u accepted how you made us feel and ruined our evening

Went to collect a takeaway order. There was a bottleneck of customers waiting to enter through the small entrance hall whilst customers leaving had to squeeze past. Very unorganised. No markings on the floor to tell you where to stand and no staff on hand to help. It was actually busier than pre pandemic times. Nothing in the way this restaurant is run has changed since before the pandemic. There are still the same amount of tables with the same distance between the tables. Collecting food is just the same as before. The owner of the restaurant was present while I was there so is fully aware. People like this are responsible for spreading the virus. For my own safety I won’t be returning.

Went to this place last night and was shocked. Once my favourite eatery but I will not return during this pandemic. I felt that they put their clients at risk. I did nor witness any sanitising between sittings. Only one waiter wore a mask. No attempt was made to keep as much distance as possible when serving at tables, in fact they leaned right over diners. Only the slip cloth was changed after diners left with the under cloth remaining in place. Menus were standard - not disposable. The most shocking thing I witnessed was the Owner greeting dinners with a hug as they entered. The food was excellent as always but - A curry to die for ? I hope not

Have eaten here many times previously and have always really enjoyed the food. As I was staying in the area, I thought I would order takeaway for delivery. It looked like ordering through the restaurant app would be easy, so did so, noting that our address (7 miles away) put us in the ‘£5.00 for delivery’ bracket. Thinking that was fair enough, I placed the order, only to get an email, not a phone call, to say the order was rejected. When I called to enquire why, I was told they don’t deliver to my location. I said quite clearly that the map on their app said they did and the property was within the £5 delivery boundary on the map. Disappointed not to get the food I know would have been very nice, but more disappointed with the poor level of customer service shown, in all honesty. Has left a pretty sour taste in the mouth but have now placed my order at another St Ives restaurant, who will deliver to my location and for only £2.50 via JustEat, so every cloud and all that.

I have used PR Masala as a take away and we dined here previously. The food has always been good. The reason I am leaving 1 star is we ordered a jug of mango lassi which came chocoblock with ice so much that we could not pour out the lassi without it dripping down the side of the jug. I asked a waiter to pour it for us. He was determined I will give him that - his hands were covered in lassi and our glasses were a mess with it too - dripping down the side. He admitted there was too much ice in the jug but nonetheless made a mess of the table and our glasses. The only reasonable thing to do would have been to get a fresh jug - NO ICE - so we can pour the damned stuff into our glasses. All this to save a few pence and give us less lassi for our money. Very amateurish and frankly disgusting. The lassi in fact was poor - could barely taste the mango at all. If you come to PR Masala ask for lassi with NO ICE. Apart from that the food was good. Shame about the lassi fiasco.

We visited this evening. The food was fabulous and portion sizes huge compared to SE London where we live. REALLY tasty. Beautifully presented. The waiters were ok but I completely ‘get it’ that not all cultures want to be chatty chatty with diners. The only downside was there was no soap in the toilet. Maybe they would have addressed it if I had mentioned it so I can’t complain. Would definitely visit again if we come up for another visit

Hadn’t been here for a year or two, due to really slow service but decided to give them another crack. Quickly seated, poppadoms arrived with speed, as did drinks. Food order taken, poppadoms consumed and then we waited.....and waited....and waited. As did other diners around us. For about 50 mins. When food arrived it was delicious, flavoursome and really enjoyed. The waiting staff are friendly but paying at the end was disorganised due to orders being randomly spread around the bar area and extra drinks written on post-it’s. This restaurant could be excellent, with its tasty food but needs to speed up service and organisation to be anywhere near.

Third visit...was looking forward. The food is always, good and no disappointment here. Unfortunately there were 2 larger parties in and took all the staff to serve them. Our chapati was forgotten and we had to ask. At the end of the meal we are usually offered dessert menu and coffee/liqueurs but nobody bothered so we got our bill and went to Wetherspoons for shots! Something not quite right there which is a shame. Next time we will try somewhere else.

I get the impression that new staff or management have taken over. Once our favourite Indian in St Ives on our last two visits we have been disappointed with the food and the service. Last time we dined in whilst the food was good the service was very slow and spoilt the occasion. Yesterday’s visit was for a take-away and we were told an hour, which turned into 90 minutes when we arrived to pick up and even then when we unwrapped on our return (5 mins drive) the food was barely warm (naan tandoori) There are at least four alternative Indian restaurants in town and if PR Masala don’t quickly up their game I’m afraid people with start to vote with their feet - me included! Come on PR - great decor and position in town and sometimes the food is great but the service needs to improve!!

I was looking forward to a traditional Curry, after a gap of about 2 years', 3 of us went with high hopes of having a good wxperience, but were bitterly disappointed, firstly, one order was for aubergine, lady fingers were brought to him, they did get the aubergine dish eventually, the dips' for poppadoms. were really watery, yoghurt liquified, Mango, just a slushy mush. Then my Chicken Bhuna sauce was also a watery, red liquidised mush, with hardly any taste. We left feeling very disheartened by the poor standards' of the Restaurant, and won't be returning.

Had a lovely meal here. From the outside it does not look like much, but once inside, the restaurant is much larger than one would imagine and is very tastefully decorated. It has an extensive menu with many dishes I had not heard of before. It was very good value for money, and offered a good wine list that catered for all tastes and budgets. The food was very tasty, not necessarily the best I have had but no complaints. I would certainly go again and would recommend this restaurant to others.

Ordered take out over the phone. Very helpful chap, advised delivery would be over an hour so decided to collect. As we are only 3 miles away the food was piping hot still and the portions ample. We ordered a variety so we could graze at it and it was very satisfying. The chicken tikka madras was excellent in flavour, although for me could have had a bit more kick to it. The veggie curry and accompanying side dishes were a winner, we had a lovely meal. My wife is a bit fussy with food but she cleared her plate twice!! Lovely.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staffMenu choices looked good, however we all decided to go for their set Christmas Party menu, which consisted of Popadom and chutney appetizer, four different starters each (all of them), choice from 6 dishes for main courses, with Pilau Rice and Naan bread and 2 side dishes (which they forgot, but we had plenty and didnt really miss them) all for £12.95, excellent value, and no compromise with quantity and quality. If the beer prices weren't so high, would have probably given then 5 starsHighly recommended

Having eaten at the restaurant before and been served the wrong food after a very long wait I ordered takeaway with trepidation but willing to give them a fair chance.I was told it would be 40 mins to an hour. After an hour and a quarter I rang to be told it was on the way and would be leaving in 5 minutes. Not sure how that works. However after another 10 minutes it turned up cold and I was charged more than the website listed. The food was average no doubt having been spoiled by having sat around for ages prior to delivery.I will not be using this establishment again

We booked a table for 7 for an early evening meal and were efficiently shown to our large round table and soon given menus and our drinks order taken. The waiter got a bit confused with the order which was not surprising as no notes were taken. That got sorted out swiftly and we got on with the job in hand which was to order the food. We nibbled on pickles and plain poppadum while waiting for our main order to appear. We tried to have a selection of individual meals that included items such as Chicken Tawa Masala , Tandoori King prawns - I had Tandoori Chicken. We all praised the food especially the sauces which arrived bubbling hot – as good food should be not the disappointing lukewarm plate which has recently been the norm in some establishments. My Tandoori Chicken had that wonderfully red dry cooked appearance on the outside but inside it was succulent and flavoursome and served on a bed of cooked onion - full of that superb sweet onion flavour but somehow still maintained an al dente texture. The accompaniment was Aloo Gob (cauliflower & potato) again perfectly spiced and perfectly cooked with a Peshwari naan instead of rice as a side dish. This was a wonderful! eating experience especially if you enjoy good food well cooked and especially so if you enjoy an authentic curry.

If Indian is 'your thing', then I think Pr Masala ticks most of the boxes. Great venue, much bigger than the facade suggests, great food and choice at very realist prices. After 3 visits the only negative for me is the food once ordered comes 'thick and fast' not always alowing for you to 'graze' for as soon as your utencils are still the waiter arrives to clear your table.. minor issue and would definately go back.

We had chosen this restaurant over other Indians because of it's TripAdvisor rating.Upon arriving we entered a lobby that was not really appealing and it gave no real clue as to where we should continue onto other than a set of closed and wooden double doors. Taking a chance we went through the doors - result - we were in.We were greeted by a sour look from a young lady who was on the telephone talking, rudely in our opinion, to a take away customer. We were in St Ives for my birthday and only for the weekend, so we hadn't booked. Seeing that the place was half empty I assumed that the two of us would be greeted with open arms. Wrong. The other surly member of staff that was visible advised that it would be at least an hour and a quarter until a table would become available!!?? Baffling - but due to the non-explanation and the unwelcoming atmosphere we turned about and went elsewhere.Would love to have reviewed the food but alas - it would take a lot of coaxing to persuade me to set foot in the place again to sample their wares!

Went to PR Massala on Saturday evening at 9pm without booking as I know that it is a large restaurant with a good reputation. I had not taken into consideration that it was one of the last weekends before Christmas and that the restaurant would be busy with works parties and the like. However, it was @9pm and there were only two of us and I am convinced that with a little bit of willingness they would have been able to accommodate us. There was no way we were being considered apart from that we could wait for 45 minutes. Well with excellent alternatives available in town, we decided to go elsewhere and it was at the PR Massala's loss.I am usually able to negotiate a compromise by using my charm and politeness and would not have minded waiting 10 minutes or so, but I instantly knew that I was wasting my time as the proprietor was adamant and did not care. We were both dressed smartly for a Saturday night out and had not been drinking, are both respectful and polite and mature enough not to be considered problem diners.I am not convinced that more could not have been done to slot us in. I am not bothered as they obviously did not care whether we stayed or not and obviously did not need our custom enough to find a table for us - afterall, it was only the two of us and it was only 9pm.

The staff cater well for all size of groups and food arrives for all diners at the same time, unlike in some establishments where you can be left waiting while others are forced to begin eating or end up with cold food. The food is cooked to an excellent standard, staff are knowledgeable about their menu and can advice if required. The food appears to be cooked to order, not the usual slop that one finds in Cambridge City. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! Honestly if I could give this place 0 stars I would, I ordered a full vegetarian meal, as I was eating my samosas one was fine, as I bite into the second I realised it had meat in and it made me physically I’ll, So I decided to drive to the actual place only to be met with RUDE and DISGUSTING behaviour, I was told it’s my fault as I was eating the samosa wrong and I would have known that one of the samosas had meat in it I had pulled it apart! I would never usually leave a bad review but I understand mistakes can happen but this isn’t just a small mistake! No attempt to even apologise.
