Pottys Diner & Pottys Shisha Garden in Hertsmere

Had smarty cookie dough delivered via ubereats. The cookie was so crispy and overcooked that it wasn’t cookie dough at all. The paper was stuck to half the cookie making in inedible. In summary, the wrong cookie dough I’ve had- burnt and clearly not cookie dough

Unfortunately, as it shares the building and is part of a shisha bar, the diner is a Second class citizen to the shisha bar. Although this place advertises to be a diner, Apart from the décor there is no evidence of it being a diner in as much as it has no 1950s vibe, no 1950s, music and the staff are wearing clothes more suited to the shisha lounge and are just running back and forwards between the 2 bars. The food was very nice, but the whole experience as a 1950s authentic diner was incredibly disappointing. No music! No atmosphere! Furniture old and in disrepair. Very telling that they don't reply to ANY reviews

Really enjoyed first experience here and they make the best coffee I’ve tried in ages ! About time you get a top notch coffee when you go to a restaurant

The place is great but the shisha does not last. I've been there a few times now and each time the interior of the lounge gets better and better, but the shisha only lasts from half an hour to an hour for the same price as London lounges where shisha lasts 2h+.

Has gone downhill since we were last there and we learnt that it is going to be closed down & turned into a proper restaurant which is a great shame because it had always been our go to place on a Bank Holiday for their crepes & waffles

The desserts were AMAZING the staff were really kind and lovely and the service was incredible and the white kinder bueno milkshake was unbeatable I would definitely go again the place was so organised and spacious

We chose Pottys to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and it was a memorable experience. We were seated promptly. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time. Their attentiveness added an extra touch to the celebration. We highly recommend Pottys for any special occasion. This is literally the best American diner I’ve had in London and we've been to a few. Can’t wait to come back again.

Loved how these guys looked after us today. Ride from south London, couldn’t bring all our bikes into the restaurant, but they opened the lounge to get tables and chairs for the group and we ate outside.. Thanks, you guys smashed it

Really good burgers and great ice cream. Whole experience was ruined by the guy who served us being very unfriendly and yawning whilst we ordered (sorry if we were disturbing you!) . Took ages to receive the ice cream and even longer for the bill. Happy with the food, not happy with the level of service.

Extremely disappointed, save your money. Unacceptable standards of food, hygiene and customer service. We ordered our food 40 minutes before receiving. Pancakes were flowery and dense. Egg whites were undercooked. This meal was barely touched. Waste of time and money. Ridiculous. Staff extremely rude when informed, refused to cooperate. The waffle was dry, as was the chicken. Surprisingly, the maple syrup didn’t help. Dirty table wasn’t cleaned before seated, and had to ask twice. High price tag, low quality. Sorry will never be seeing me again and will never recommend to anyone.

I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the dining experience my party and I had at your establishment yesterday for Pancake Day. Despite our anticipation for a special meal, we left feeling frustrated and dissatisfied with our overall visit. To begin, I must address the quality of the food. The mixed platter we ordered was subpar at best. The chicken wings, while thankfully precooked and frozen, were disappointingly cold near the bone, indicating improper heating. Additionally, the tenders were severely overcooked, resulting in a tough and unappetizing texture. The use of old oil to cook them was evident, as it imparted a stale flavour that overshadowed any enjoyment we might have derived from the dish. The hot dogs were equally disappointing, with dry and unsteamed buns that disintegrated upon the slightest touch. As for the chips, they were undercooked and lacked the desired crispiness, further adding to our dissatisfaction. Regrettably, none of us were able to finish any of these items. Furthermore, the incessant noise from the blender used to make milkshakes was incredibly disruptive to our dining experience. The blender's volume reached such levels that it triggered a health warning on my phone, indicating a potential safety hazard. The frequency of its use throughout our meal only compounded our discomfort, and the lack of acknowledgement or apology from our waitress only exacerbated the situation. In light of these issues, I urge you to consider investing in a new blender equipped with a sound enclosure to mitigate the disruptive noise levels. Additionally, I implore you to address the shortcomings in the quality of your food to ensure a more satisfactory dining experience for future patrons. While my party and I were left disappointed by our recent visit, we would welcome the opportunity to return for a complimentary meal should these concerns be addressed. We hope that you consider this feedback and strive to improve the overall dining experience at Potty's Diner.

I was absolutely shocked at the rudeness and bad attitude of the manager at this restaurant. He was so arrogant and offensive that I will never ever consider using this restaurant again. What a shame.

Too expensive. Shisha rules are unbelievable. There were 5 of us only 3 wanted shisha but we all had to spend a minimum recommended amount of (£100). We left!!!!!

Good food ruined by appalling staff and service We called up the day before to make sure they had space for 13 including 5 kids On the Sunday morning we turn up early and they open late at 10:10. The decor is great and the place is clean so we sit down looking forward to some great food. At 10:45 they finally take our order (after us chasing them). Then we wait.. and wait .. and wait - Keep in mind we’ve ordered PANCAKES, not complex dishes. Finally the first kids meals appear at 11:15 and it takes them a further 30 mins to get the last order out. In total we’ve been in the restaurant for over 1h 45 and we’ve just finished. In total I counted 5 other tables - keep in mind if they felt they couldn’t cope then they should notify/tell customer prior to booking. I complained but apparently the manager was not on site- so I ended up talking to a very arrogant waiter who insisted I had it wrong. My number was taken and a callback was promised. Guess what; no call. No discount. Will not return and have recommended my friends to avoid - if you have a young family I’d recommend Crêpeaffaire in St Albans.

Fabulously unique, and a really good atmosphere. Completely different from a normal restaurant but great fun.

Food use to be really good, ordered a couple of times recently and was dry and overcooked. Called up and politely told them but got told that no else has complained and they have had 8000 orders today. Uber were helpful and refunded order.

I ordered a vegan crepe with avocado and friend mushroom. The Crepe was cold and the mushrooms were wet slimy and under cooked. Absolutely appalling food quality and taste would not go back for any savoury food. Perhaps the sweets treats are better!

Brilliant diner well well worth a visit

To be fair the dish I had was ok however the lady with Blonde hair (Owner/Manager) was extremely rude and arrogant to some members of staff. I have seen this a few times now when I have gone to eat. Extremely unprofessional.

Food taste and service is excellent as usual would be great if they start replacing vegetable oil with avocado oil in foods (99.9% restaurants NEVER use healthy oils unfortunately so I'm not picking on potty's diner). Abdel always brings a positive spirit, always smiling and displaying enthusiasm with his job, the hard work and patience shown by Vaso, Sofia and Emily is also something I've always respected and appreciated about them all😁

I have been to Potty’s in Potters Bar many times with my partner and the food is absolutely amazing. The staff are always friendly and polite. Today we went to the new Potty’s in Cockfosters and is also amazing. I will definitely recommend it to anyone.The most delicious deserts around!

Really enjoyed the food, we got the clucky cow and the zeus. Both great meals, with a toffee apple pancake to share as a desert. Very lovely, will come again next time we are nearby.

We fancied a changed from our usual places to eat my family and I visited here on Saturday afternoon staff were very polite. Food was amazing but next time we visit we only going to have either a sweet or a meal not both cos it was too much so we all took our puddings home to eat later as they were too good to waste overall lovely place and well worth a visit...

Disappointing celebratory lunch. I came here with my children here to celebrate the end of summer term and spent £55 on food that all went in the bin. Cheap meat, burnt buns (on all the buns) chips tasted very bizarre - like the oil was old perhaps? We used to come here all the time and the food was better quality and looked a lot different. Its a shame its gone so down hill - we recently had another poor experience and put it down to a bad day but it seems that's not the case. On the plus side our waitress was lovely! We won't be back.

We love Potty's! Big portions and mega tasty burgers tick my boxes while the boys love the desert type options and milkshakes. Very much supported by really friendly service from the staff who are lovely every time we've been there 👍

Extremely rude blond lady, just because I was one person on a completely empty restaurant lunchtime, she gave me worst table opposite of toilet and refused to move me to somewhere front. Table was wobbling, chair was terrible. She also lied about plug not being working so that she could have kept me at the back, that plug is working, I have used it recently. Terrible customer service, I am not surprised why your restaurant is empty. That’s a shame you rude people are in our local area. Wishing you all the best.

First time at Pottys Pancakes . We had just off the sweet menu. Food was very good and large portions. Staff very efficient and friendly. Will be back and will make sure i have an empty stomach when going.

Everything was perfect, accept the price. A little steep. The reason these diners are so popular in America is because of how cheap they are! Otherwise thank you was so good!

The decor is very much like a American diner, and our waitress was very nice. Unfortunately the food we had was tasteless over cooked and cheap, I had waffle and chicken- the waffle had no flavour at all and the chicken were little chicken dippers from a frozen section in the supermarket, even the maple syrup was very very weird hot thick like gravy and tasted horrible. My husband had a burger and curly fries The burger was very cheap quality of meat. It was a very very big let down

My friend suggested this place as we had got lost. Nice car park and clean. I had mint tea and well look at photos. 100x better than kaspers. Here it more cozy and comfortable. The waffles don't taste like they fell out a freezer. Disottos gelato is what ice cream. Used to be like. A good ace to come for a treat. Not a day nosh up unless your wealthy and looking for obesity. Staff here are friendly and helpful. Some of the seats are a little tired but we are here to eat ice-cream not chairs. I will be coming back here..

Good service and tasty desserts

Food was lovely, shakes were amazing but the furniture was kind of past its best- rickety chairs, wobbly tables, I love the decor but tge furniture needs replacing!

I really love the vintage decor, it for sure emulates the spirit of an American Diner. The staff was really nice and friendly, always able to help out - but we went there during one of their less busier times. The food is very fullfiling, although the mayonnaise in my Chicken Run Wrap had a bit of a wierd taste to it. The cheezy fries though - amazing (I tried both their curly and chunky ones). The thing I was looking forward for the most was the Pancake Stack. I got the regular one (6 pancakes) with toffee syrup and fresh strawberries. It was really good, but somehow there wasn't enough syrup to enjoy all the pancake. Of course the one on top would get the most, but I think they could add a little bit of syrup in between the pancakes too, to even it out. The strawberries though, tasted extremely fresh - could have eaten them by themselves. 4.3

We drove past here today on our way to turkish restaurant but thought we would try this instead and we was not disappointed. The survive was fab the food was delicious 😋 my only criticism is there was not hot dog on the kids menu and my sons nuggets and chips only came with cucumber not other salad, not that he was complaining. Others than that we will defiantly go back to this restaurant even if it is an hours drive from our home.

The food is fantastic the atmosphere is great and the staff are very friendly. I would really recommend Potty Pancakes.

My first time at Dotty's was a pleasant one. The decoration is a throwback, you'll see pictures of celebrities gone by such as Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. The service from the staff was nice, I ordered a milkshake and it came with cream, I'm not a fan of cream so asked for it to be removed and it was done so without any hesitation, even when I said I didn't want to be a pain. I ordered Southern fried chicken with maple syrup, a combination I've never tried before but was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked together. My partner ordered the Dallas which is pancakes with bacon, sausage and eggs with maple syrup. She was not disappointed with her choice either. We both left with full bellies. I gave four stars because we both felt that our plates were quite empty looking. It would maybe be a good idea to either have smaller plates or to put some decoration around the plates e.g. some fruits etc. All in all a pleasant experience.
