We visited this place for breakfast and the lady who served us was amazing. Such a hard working woman, with so much patience especially because I was with my kids. Thank you for your awesome service Joanne. We shall be coming back again.

A modern pub/restaurant with a limited but adequate menu of popular pub-grub. Friendly and pleasant staff and competitive prices. A good sized car park and inside and open a is r table service.

Took my 3 grandkids for dinner they had the kids meal,popping chicken,spaghetti bowl & mac n cheese they left virtually all of it,I tasted a bit of each & quite honestly my dog gets better food than the muck that was served up to us,the chips were hard & cold,the mac n cheese stodgy & the spaghetti bowl stated lije plastic,please don't bother darling here,go to the moorhen food lovely piping hot & friendly service Total waste of time ; money ps 3 small fruits hoots £6.30 Really!

Great value for money, staff helpful

Potters Arms had a hard time a while ago with staffing and we'd often turn up for dinner to find the restaurant closed. They now have new management and it really shows. They are always open, the food is cooked really well and arrives promptly and the staff are honestly so lovely, particularly Jo.

Friendly service and a great pub atmosphere. We enjoyed the Smothered Platter, a very complete dish with plenty of meat. Good value for classic pub fare.

May as well close! Always understaffed and have been for months, with the kitchen closed or restaurant shut every other week yet never seem to be any tables full inside!

We arrived at 20:00, in our section we had 8 tables, including is 4 tables full (meaning 4 empty). We were asked whilst sitting down if we’d like to order drinks, we asked for a couple of moments to have a sit down and look at menu. After 15 minutes later someone came back to us, maybe a little too long considering it wasn’t full however it wasn’t a problem, so we didn’t raise it. We got our tasty starters in a fair time. Took a little bit too long for the mains to come in between starter and main but my my it was worth the wait! 3 pies and cute amount of mash under each of them. A good portion size, maybe if you want picky; I could have done with a tiny bit more gravy but as a whole 100%! My partner did have an issue with a product not being cooked to standard which was explained to the waitress and forwarded to the manager and was handle effectively and efficiently. Desserts were lovely, a sundae with caramel bites and a Black forest Crownie, both a good portion size and taste was class! Thank you for a really positive experience and this location is somewhere I will certainly be passing on my recommendations and will revisit again.

Good all good. Cheerful 'girl' that served us. Food hot nicely presented. Atmosphere was fine just a rather noisy next table which is not the eateries fault!

Food has improved but as I only go there once a year due to its dire ambiance and sticky tables I cannot say much more.

Been coming to the Potters arms every now and then when I visit Church Langley and there have been quite a few changes to both the service and the menu over time The service used to be slow, one time we had to wait almost an hour for our meal to arrive and almost half an hour trying to get a waitress’ attention for the bill when we finished the meal, we would try and get their attention only to be ignored or responded with a rude remark “Just give me a second” only a second turned into 30 minutes… Anyway that was all in the past, yesterday I was feeling hungry while visiting Church Langley so decided to give it another go, and wow the service has improved a lot since. Our server Olivia was friendly and very attentive, within minutes she was asking us if we were ready to order and what drinks we wanted we didn’t have to wait long. Also when we finished despite serving other tables in the area at the time she came over to clear our plate up and handed the bill quite quickly. I was very impressed with the service after our experience last time! Although I was a bit suprised that the menu had changed and the options was a lot less than when I last went when it was a whole booklet and pages of food to choose from, this visit it was just one page of food. I had the chicken katsu curry it was very nice. All in all a very good experience I would come again.

had a lovely visit for father's day. Our waitress kayleigh was amazing. Very chatty and orders where accurate. Good all came correct l and hot.

Arrived at hotel next door approximately 7.30pm by time checked in and got to room. Was abiut 7.50 went down to the restaurant only to find out they had closed the kitchen! Before 8pm!!. Very disappointed with this as all other restaurants associated with premier inn serves food until at least 9 or 9.30 pm. And had driven from west wales and was looking forward to a nice meal!

Absolute dive of place. Used to be brilliant cheap and cheerful. Now they never have stuff, constantly close earlier than advertised, staff are rude and don’t give a toss. I’ve had a dinner for 8 cancelled and a breakfast for 8 cancelled on me in the last 4 months. Sort it, premier inn should by it, sack everybody and pay people decent wages

Table service very poor and food portions small

Came for an evening dinner with my mrs and son, couldn’t fault it, returned the following morning having stayed in premier inn thought it was more then convenient to get a breakfast before leaving, got there to be told there’s no cooked food only cold breakfast items, this wasn’t mentioned to us before hand when booking. Decided to put some money in the fruit machine that can I add were all switched on and had a rude gentleman come up to me to say “gambling licence starts at 11” The waitress watched me put all the change in and didn’t say anything. This man just walked in and told me so I stated the fact that the other staff member didn’t say anything and he said “she only works breakfast” I won’t be returning as I think the approach to me could have been different maybe introducing yourself would have made a difference as to me you didn’t have any staff badge or anything on.

Had the steak and Ale pie. Very tasty with some good mash. If I was being picky, the peas were a little to microwaved! Right next to Tesco, so convenient. My other friends had a mixed grill, smothered grill, chicken salad. No. Everyone ate up! Cocktails are 2 for £10!

The staff are really nice and helpful, the location is ideal being central and next to tesco. 3 hours free parking, but put your registration in on entrance. Pub is family friendly. The food is alright, but there's nothing to shout about if I'm honest. Probably £2 or £3 more a meal then it should be for what you get, but hey if your looking for a quick fix it will do Cocktails are £2 for £10

As a regular customer at the premier inn next door I’m a frequent stayer… unfortunately I’ve had to write this as the overall standard of service is poor.. a few times I’ve booked for diner and got there to be told no dinner tonight as the chef is not in.. regards to breakfast on a regular basis the cooked breakfast turns up with food missing to be then told they have have run out with no apologising from staff just a we have run out, but only reason I’ve e been told is because I had to ask! Unfortunately this will be my last stay and I will choose another hotel/restaurant this has become a run down restaurant

A decent place to eat if you stay at the nearby premier inn. Good value and service fine. Unfortunately the 2nd day of our stay the kitchen was closed at 5pm without notice, so be sure to call before you go.

Not happy with the food, I had burger with fries and OH had gammon with fries and in both meals the fries were limp and just warm, not at all nice. Did mention to waitress who apologised and said she would tell kitchen staff……doubtful if we will go there again……

Was staying at Premier Inn for two nights. I had both breakfasts and dinners included. The dinners were okay despite the service being slow. Both days I went for breakfast, service was incredibly slow, to the point where today, I have walked out hungry because I don't have all day to be served. I was shown a table and was reassured that somebody would come and take my order shortly, 20 minutes later, the family nearby had been served but I was still waiting.

Had food there on Friday night, all was good until we tried to have a drink afterwards at 9:45pm… “sorry we’ve rang last orders” this should be made aware!… we were at the premier inn and there’s not a lot else there in walking distance, so it was there or taxi!! Disappointment at its very best!!! Breakfast, well I usually enjoy the premier inn all you can eat breakfast but this was a HUGE disappointment, no fresh coffee (ok there was instant but I don’t like instant!) 2 normal toasters that took ages to slightly brown anything, and when my food came out,… well it’s the first time I haven’t eaten every bit of a full English, it was cold, eggs were solid and rubbery- it had obviously been cooked then left on the side for a while before being brought out… that explains the age we had to wait for our breakfasts! Won’t be going there again!!! Only got a second star because the staff were lovely

Excellent value, good food reasonably priced.

No staff one day, no lagers another. Even no kitchen staff on a couple of occasions! Hasn't even been open to regulars over Xmas period. Call themselves a PUB!! Maybe they should look up the definition of the word in a dictionary!! God only knows what will happen over New Year period. Other local pubs must be rubbing their hands.

We had Christmas dinner here and it was awful. There were two waitresses serving the whole restaurant. We waited an hour for our first drinks and another hour for our starters. The poor staff were completely out of their depth. We had our dinner but by then they were running out of food and there was no cutlery! We had to wait for cutlery to be washed. Tables were left with dirty plates etc because there were no staff to clear them. We have been here several time but will never return now. Our table was 2.30pm we finally left at 6pm!!! Such a waste of Christmas day. Well done to those staff that did turn up and did their best. Shame on the company for allowing this shambles to happen.

Booked lunch for Christmas day, absolute disaster, they were so short staffed they were totally unable to cope, we waited 1 hour and 20 mins for a pre ordered patè starter and after 3 hours we walked out after being told our desserts had been given to someone else.

Foods great I am gluten free so there's enough choice for me.size portions are good so are prices.we all love the Sunday roast menu it's great. We used to go to the beefeater but only go to potters Arms.

Lovely place to dine ,the serving staff that they had was very professional, they appears a little stretch ,a long gap between been serve, overall the food was good and I will dine there again.

Food was ok service was not so good 13 of us and took over 30 mins for starters then mains took 40 mins from giving 1st to last then another 30 min wait for starters

Disappointed. It was maybe half empty on Thursday evening and was told that there is only 2 servers one was leaving in 20 minutes so they decided to say that pub is full instead...

Table was booked in October for a nice family pre Christmas meal.when we arrived we was told that we had cancelled our booking that morning but we hadn't cancelled.They found us a table,eventually. We was told that some of the food on the menu wasn't available. Food arrived after a very long wait and was warm.waited a long while for a drinks order. The place wasn't even full. We felt sorry for staff who were there but obviously they were under staffed. I can't honestly say that we won't be rushing back.

Waited 45 minutes for starters and over an hour for the main, no point getting a dessert would’ve still been waiting for it at breakfast. Food wasn’t even warm and chips were soggy too. Can’t blame the waiters at all, they did their job with what they had available but just an awful experience all round. A nice family meal ruined with severe lack of staff and the time we had to wait for food when the restaurant wasn’t even half full. Don’t recommend here anymore it has completely fallen off. What a joke

We was told when we turnt up that the table had been cancelled when it had not been, we finally got seated at 7 and got our mains at half 8, some of the food came out cold and some items ordered didnt make it to the table at all, I think I will need to go McDonald's to get the chips we still are waiting for , I think this place needs it's own special episode on Gordon Ramsay kitchen nightmares

Been here a few times as its nearby and convenient to visit. The food is nice, very typical pub sort of food, which I enjoy. Service is always very efficient and all the staff are happy to help. It even has a play area for the kids to burn off some extra energy which is great. Overall very much worth a visit for low cost tasty food.

Great dining experience, The food was great I was a bit sceptical as we had a table of 18 but hats off to them food was delivered in a timely manner and everything was hot and delicious. Service was great they always checked if anyone needed anything more. Will definitely be returning 👌

Madison was a very efficient and attentive waitress. Generally, a good variety of food to satisfy most tastes and I would recommend the restaurant to other diners.

Popped in the Potter Arms Pub for the first time in years and got a warm welcome. They sell two real ales Boombar and London Pride but only had Pride on which was nice. As I just walked in, there was no space to eat in the restaurant so I sat in the bar and looked to eat but decided against it, all looked a bit tired and the memu all you expect from lower end dining. There are few gaming machines lighting up the area, and big screen TV. There is parking, shared with the hotel next door but remember to resister your car or a fine will come your way. There is plenty of outside seating. One I will be returning too soon

A return to this restaurant and what an improvement. Although the waitresses have always been lovely, the gluten free menu has improved dramatically. Burgers now with gf buns and the banoffee cheesecake was wonderful. A+

I'd heard mixed reviews, but wanted to find out for myself what the food was like, especially as it now has new management. Our waitress was very funny and drinks arrived promptly. I have a severe allergy, and the manager came over to make sure I'd read the disclaimer and that my food was suitable. All of the food was piping hot, and my steak and gammon was cooked perfectly. I'm looking forward to trying the Sunday roast, with a view to Christmas Dinner. The new team have really made a difference and the Cookhouse feels more family friendly. *UPDATE* Tried out the buffet roast dinner. Thought it was really nice. Soft meats, nice roasties, creamy mash, stuffing balls, no shortage of gravy, great value for money!

Usually a favourite place for lunch. Had a Good evening out with a group of friends Everyone enjoyed their choices, salad was a bit meagre, and they had run out of BBQ sauce. The aircon was a bit chilly but otherwise nice atmosphere

As an ex soldier, I was served better food with a better attitude by the ACC. If you love poor and very rude service and frozen style food you love this excuse for a cookhouse.

Average food booked for a sunday roast menu saysserved from 12 but doesn't mention stops at 6pm servie ok but staff cant carry the plates and husbands steak was pealed off off staffs tshirt to be put back on the plate

Booked breakfast for 10 am only to be told on arrival that the continental part closes at 10.30am the waitress was quite grumpy. The Adults were served their cooked breakfast before the children which caused our grandson to cry as he had to wait until last he is only 4yrs old so didn't understand why it took so long, no crayons and colouring sheets were offered to the children to occupy them. Maybe it was just a bad morning to go. Shame really as probably would go more often if it was a better experience.

We had a lovely lunch today with a great choice of good value food. We were served promptly by friendly and attentive staff. I've not been back to the Potters for a while but the new manager Emily has made some noticeable improvements to service, I would definitely recommend.

The food is below average and could be much better. The atmosphere is poor, but I think that is brought down by the staff and not necessarily the clientele, although questionable some evenings. The staff are sullen and even though they throw the word "sir" into a sentence, they are not welcoming or polite in any sense, almost condescending. I have been here many times because of work commitments and every time I visit it is the same. What happened to a smile, or a good morning, or welcome to the cookhouse, how can we help today? Anything at this stage would be an improvement!

Service was absolutely lovely even tho they seemed a bit short staffed. Food took a while and was nice but not great. Nachos were disappointing didn't have salsa sauce or guacamole etc just a fresh salad type thing on top. Not the best choice of sides, didn't even halloumi.

Very good foods excellent service

Thank you to Emily and team. Tescos was closed so we were unable to get dog food so we asked Emily if she could sort out a plate of meat for our lovely German Shepherd dog Diesel and she and her team went above and beyond. Thank you again we will return as usual.

It's OK. Had the sirloin rare was OK, could do with more chips but otherwise it was OK. No fish for one of the party so they settled for a steak rare but found theirs to be a bit more chewy. Mix grill platter got the thumbs up though.

Rude staff. Horrible woman at the door (brunette lady) spoke so sarcastically to me because I hadn’t booked, like I was stupid. All I did was politely enquire if there was a table spare, no need for the attitude at all, I wouldn’t have minded if it was a simple “no, sorry! Make sure to book next time”. Just walked out in the end. Cannot believe the impoliteness of staff. No need for it!

I often eat in the Potter arms and find the food good value and staff polite, however was a bit shocked at the price of a bottle of Jam Shed sparkling rose wine £20.99 average price in supermarkets £6-8 a bottle. Expect a 100% mark up but thought this was a bit of a rip off

Very good value, food was nice. 2 mains for £9.99. We both had fish a chips, mushy peas very nice with crispy batter. The only criticism I had was the slow service. They appeared to only have 2 waitresses, though very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Very mediocre food. Smothered chicken. Waited 25 minutes for food from when I ordered and when it arrived the food was luke warm. The first mouthful of chicken tasted purely of charred chicken (as its chargrilled I believe) and didn't have much bbq sauce on. The garlic slice was only cooked one side and over done. Chips must of been sitting around as they weren't hot. Meal cost £10.95 even though its also in the 2 for £8.99 deal (yes I know I had only one meal but this is a bit cheeky to do). Due to food taking so long to arrive I had no time to speak to anyone at the time as I was on my lunch break and had 15 minutes to eat before returning to work ( so no time for dessert either)

Over 9 years, i have stayed away countless amounts of times at premier inns and ate next door at the whitbread pubs such as chef and brewer, beefeater and table table. I have to say that the attention to perfection was fantastic this evening with my mixed grill!! From the peas, eggs and onion rings to the sausages, steak and gammon.... everything was cooked so perfectly!! I could really tell the chefs timings was bang on and kept an eye on the food to produce i would say in the top 2 mixed grills with whitbread supplied food i have had ever. The steak was cooked perfectly, the gammon chicken and eggs were all mouth watering!! Everything was yummy!! Looking forward to staying and eatting here the next few more nights so will try and test out the menu choices!!
