Fish was nice as were the battered sausages, chips were ok BUT what spoilt it was the wait. Half a dozen customers in front of us and took literally, and in not exaggerating an hour to get our order. Nippy where I'm from means fast and this was far from fast unfortunately. Not worth the hour wait.

Just had fish and chips from this place, it was delicious, fish was very tasty with crispy batter and flaky fish, chips were great too. Couldn’t fault it ,certainly worth the wait. Lady serving very happy and courteous.

Have been going here for a long while now. Never have we had anything wrong with our food . Liam and Paige deserve every 5 star rating they get for turning such an awful chippy into the best chippy for miles. Well done and long may you continue..

Paige and Liam at Nippy Chippy certainly know how to fry great fish and chips. Lovely crispy batter and flaky fish. DELICIOUS. They also have a van which goes to various villages and caters at events too. We keep coming back because it's so good.

The very best fish and chips I have had! Haddock, perfectly cooked to order, in a lovely batter. The chips are delicious. Don't forget to have mushy peas, curry sauce and a gherkin too. Just walk over the bridge to Nippy Chippy and enjoy!

i visited Nippy Chippy in January .The staff are so friendly and polite.I ordered cod and chips,which was very good and very good value .I would definatly recommend.

Stopped by for an impromptu take away dinner. Steak pie was in fact steak and kidney, which my husband doesn’t like. The chips tasted like they weren’t freshly cooked, I feel like they had been cooked earlier in the day or even the previous day. Sausage was cheap and nasty.

Called in last Friday 13th for tea. We had two large cod and mushy peas. I have to say probably the best cod we have ever had bar none, even better than Whitby's fish and chips and they take some beating. Keep up the standards well done to all the staff.

A real gem on the Norfolk Broads. Been coming to Potter Heigham for 35 years and the 'Nippy Chippy' served delicious traditional Fish and Chips . The Large Cod was fresh and beautifully flakey and the batter was light with a lovely flavour , just the right crispyness. The Chips were just as tasty . Service was very friendly and welcoming. We loved the boxes our food came in - perfect for having on your lap whilst watching the Boats go by. Can't reccomend highly enough . We like to think we are Fish and Chip Veteran's this was our 3rd Chip shop on holiday and the 'Nippy Chippy' knocked spots off the others. Certainly be returning 😊

Having a week on the broads we'd decided before hand that we'd have 2 days relief from self catering. After reading recent reviews we thought that fish and chips from the nippy chippy on the broads would be one of those days. It didn't disappoint. Greeted by a cheery & breezy welcome despite the fact that they had issues with 2 of the friers and were operating with just the one. Due to this we were told our order would be in the region of a 10-15 minute wait. And to be fair that's around what it took. The fish & chips were spot on. Piping hot and generous sized portions. Nice light batter on the cod which just flaked away as it was cut into. The peas were really flavoursome too. Appeared to be very popular as there was a continuous stream of customers.

We called in while staying in Potter Heigham and we weren't disappointed! The lady serving was really polite and helpful - they removed the skin off our fish and cooked it fresh which was great. The chips were lovely and the portion was a good size for a reasonable price. The kids meals were a really good portion too. Really tasty fish and chips, we'd definitely recommend!

What a pity. We had read the reviews and had expected fantastic fish and chips. Sadly the chips were overcooked dry and brown, and the fish batter was greasy soggy. My husband was generous giving them a c+. We will not go a second time.

Eight of us ordered fish and chips from here for pickup. Dealt with this via email, efficient pleasant service, food nicely packaged, on time and lovely and hot. Standard of food excellent. Will visit again.

The worst fish and chips I've ever had. We went at 4:50 on Friday 8th June, 20 minutes after opening, thinking everything would be fresh. Chips brown and dry, obviously re-heated from another day. Fish had dry flash and batter dark brown, obviously also reheated....

Stopped for some lunch, we were told it was a very good Fish & chip take-away and it was. Very handy for people on Broads Cruisers as well, all you have to do is moor up nearby either side of Potter Heigham Bridge.

This village Chippy serves excellent quality fish and chips. Great value for money. The batter on the fish melted in the mouth. The quality and quantity of chips matched that of the large (sold as medium) cod fish. Staff warm and friendly. Well worth a...

Went over the old bridge on foot and well worth the effort . Parking at Lathams is okay as long as you use the shop . Ordered Haddock and Plaice which were excellent as was the chips even in late november and thoroughly recommend

It is worth walking over the bridge to this chip shop. The quality of the food is really great and we had pleasant service.

Just had a large cod and chips twice it was the best ever that I have had. I have had fish and chips in wroxham and just before the bridge but this is far the best ever due at Christmas time around 27 th December...

On a warm summer evening there is nothing better than a nice portion of fish and chips and sitting by the river in the lovely village of Potter Heigham. The sausage and scampi were very nice too. Lovely food and good service.

Fish was totally tasteless, well apart from the greasy taste. Large portion of chips certainly was not large but glad in the end as all you could taste was grease. The battered sausages my daughter had were truly horrid - over cooked and inedible. So disappointed.

Family wanted fish and chips on last night on boat, so we decide to use the takeaway, only problem as we was low on cash, it would have been a card sale. But there machine was broken, and only reply wa sit bene broken for sometime. So we went to othe cafe/takeaway back across the bridge

We stopped here as it had a dog friendly area and looked nice. Service was a bit slow as it was busy but food was very good and fairly priced

Come here regularly and always love it! Had Takeaway cod and chips was lovely fresh and good crispy batter. Huge tray of chips and fish bigger than the tray itself. Lovely portion for £6.90. During the current circumstances had floor stickers in place for social distancing and a plastic screen by tills. While I was waiting for my food the lady behind counter wiped down the surfaces twice and somebody else went outside to clean door handles and tables and chairs. Would recommend

Was driving past fancied something to eat so we had Cheeseburger with chips and sausage & chips. They were the best we have tasted for ages! Wonderful friendly staff. The chip shop was very clean!

Read some of the reviews and wasn’t expecting much but gave it a go. Glad we did as the food was amazing best we have had. Fish was fresh and cooked in a nice crispy batter. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Me and my wife were out for the afternoon stroll. The chio shop was open so we grabbed some food. It was amazing. They have social distancing in place and whilst i was waiting for my food the lady behi d the counter cleaned down the counter twice and went out the front to clean the tables, chairs & door handles.

Arrived on a cold, wet evening and decided to eat in. We were the only ones in there which should have given us a clue to leave!! We ordered 2 x fish and chips with one slice of bread and butter and 1 x mushy peas . .. apparently run out of sliced bread (there’s a shop 50 yards away!). Tried to order a beer (it’s on the menu) and told they have no licence so we asked for a tea and a tap water instead.Toilets really grim with only one light working and filthy (if you know what I mean!). We left the peas which were only lukewarm, the chips were undercooked and barely warm ... then when the bill arrived we’d been charged £1.85 for tap water - it actually said ‘tap water’ so no mistaking it. Total bill £26 for cold food for two.No care or niceties, two women working there just spent the whole time chatting and we felt like an inconvenience.Avoid this place if you can ... pop to the shop a few doors down and cook yourself something instead. It’s bound to be an improvement.

Found this fish and chip shop by chance, ordered cod and chips for two IT WAS LOVELY best we’ve had in ages , well worth a visit really friendly staff as well.

Firstly got to complain about the woman serving, rude and abrupt. The chips were very greasy, which came as a bit of a shock as we walked past at lunch time and saw the food being served and it looked very different to the food we got. Wouldnt visit again or recommend to anyone

We had moored up and walked to Latham’s and looked for a handy lunch venue. This was it. Chips were a bit soggy compare to some chip shops but they were ok. Fish was nice, the kids liked the burgers and my brother liked the sausage.

Sat in the restaurant with a few friends after a nice walk along the broads. We all ordered cod and chips and presentation on the plate was great! Crispy golden batter and fish lovely and soft inside. Chips cooked fresh and crispy on the outside. Staff polite as anything and always ensured everything was up to par! Will definitely be visiting again!

After a ride around the coast on easter Saturday we stopped off here for some chips for our tea. Having been before we were looking forward to visiting again.However this time the chips were not great ,Luke warm with a taste that was unpleasant ! Maybe the oil was old or the potatoes were old but it has put us off visiting again.

Miserable staff... miserable fish and chips... only went there as the best chippy had just closed the kitchen over the bridge... avoid if you can and go to the Cafe on the North side.

Was in the restaurant for a meal with my friends very cosy and amazing service. Fish was cooked well and batter was nice and crispy, chips were soft and piping hot and on a Sunday the regular fish and chips are buy-one-get-one-free which made us even happier with the price.

Cannot understand why the management.serve such poor fish and chips batter is so thick and undercooked oil doesn't seem to be changed often

We stopped here this week as we were on a broads boat and fancied fish and chips, I agree they are very expensive but I guess it’s to be expected with a captive holiday audience, they were cooked fresh and were acceptable, not the best but certainly not the worst.

We chose to sit in the restaurant, 2 OAP meals and one normal. The fish and chips were delicious, hot and beautifully cooked. I can't recommend this enough. Service was first class.

Went here as weather little cloudy but fancied fish and chips . We went in there and the place was very busy . Always a good sign . we soon found a table and ordered quickly . our food came rather fast and was pipping hot . My wife had Cod and I had Haddock both with Chips . I had mushy peas and a pot of tea for two . We will be calling back there again next year . Not bad price either for the quality of food.

Food truly awful, greasy, floppy and devoid of taste, my Husband had almost finished his food, not being able to stomach the batter anymore, picked it off only to find that the fish was hard and black in places, we threw it away and prayed we would see the morning, bad fish + port a potty on a board = OMG. Thank God we didn't find out.

Over priced, small portions, rock with small bones and no large bone! Couldn’t eat it but the dog didn’t say no, thankfully won’t be going back. If you want excellent fish and chips or fried chicken/burgers at very good prices Go to Broadlands you won’t be disappointed only went here as Broadlands was closed

I read the recent reveiws and can't beleive it's the same place when ever I go there.

I cant really remember having a meal from a chippy that was really not nice. Usually varying degrees of nice. but this was not nice. Chips had a weird taste which seemed to be the fat. Fish batter too was a funny taste. Fish inside was ok but a bit skinny. Children's sausage overcooked. Staff were really nice and nowhere much else to eat in Potter Heigham at night so a real shame.

I don't beat around the bush when it comes to reviewing a restaurant and having walked into Potters Fish Bar as one of a group of seventeen I was pleasantly surprised we could all be seated. However, having sat down today to review this restaurant on TripAdviser I am shocked at its poor level of reviews. All of my party had excellent food from Home Made Chilli and a Curry through to excellent Burgers and a fantastic portion of Fish & Chips. Milkshakes flowed in abundance and the service was excellent. So don't know why folk have given Potters Fish Bar & Restaurant poor reviews in the past but I can thoroughly recommend this place......and it's got an arcade where the kids can loose themselves with a bag of 2p's.

Have eaten here a few times and has been terrible, thought we would give it one last chance. We won’t ever eat here again, it’s shocking! Walk to the Falgate arms, you won’t be disappointed.

Don't be put off by the adjoining amusement arcade; it was quiet when we visited for our dinner. The restaurant may look a bit cafe(ish) but the food and the table service is excellent

Love this chippy! Came back on holiday. Chips are as brilliant as always! Cooked from fresh every time!! Homemade chutney made too. Was totally outstanding!!

Popped in here for cod & chips whilst boating on the Broads, lovely piece of fish & good sized portion of chips, cooked well & not greasey at all.

What a cosy little restaurant, hidden away behind the fish and chip shop, my partner and I popped in for tea and cake, I had a scone with jam and clotted cream, my partner had chocolate cake and we had a pot of tea for two. It was very reasonable and very well presented, I recommend this charming restaurant to everyone, we will most definitely visit again.

Blue plastic flower arrangements on the tables inside and the pervading smell of old chip fat / grease should have been warning enough. Not the best Norfolk has to offer as far as fish and chips go. Avoid.

Paramos aquí para conseguir la cena en el llevar de vacaciones familiares. La comida era todo típica variedad chips (aunque no inusualmente tartas caseras). Porciones de bacalao no eran tan grandes pero Skate era de buen tamaño y los niños estaban contentos con las salchichas....

Estos son los peores peces n Chips que he tenido. A la izquierda una grasienta y horrible gusto. Muy caro. 15 libras por 2 x 1 patatas pescado n parte de los guisantes. Nunca me alojaría allí de nuevo. 😯

Chips a soft mush, anemic and white, absolutely dripping in oil. Terrible. Definitely not : hot, golden brown, dry, crispy on outside. Inedible.

Very small portions, with high prices. No vegetarian pies. Beware the children's meals, which seem to be even more expensive than the adult meals, and also very small in size. Left feeling hungry.

We have never been disappointed with the fish and chips in this restaurant over the last 6 years of 3 or 4 visits per year but the quality of the fish at our last visit 8/5/17 was spectacular. The battered Skate was fresh, thick and large and the grilled Plaice was filleted perfectly and was also as thick as the Skate. Amazing value for money. Well done to those who source and cook the fish and we highly recommend the restaurant.

Came here for a meal with my family and boyfriend and we were greeted by a lovely lady in the restaurant who showed us to our table and gave us menus. Not only do they serve fish and chips, but also home cooked meals such as lasagne and cottages pies, burgers and gammon steaks! Between us we had cod, gammon, bangers and mash and a 3/4lb gutbuster burger which was huge! All food was cooked to perfection and lovely and hot. There is a good selection of desserts including puddings and cakes. We had homemade bread and butter pudding which again was lovely and chocolate oaties just like I had a school! We also noticed they offer a tea and cake deal for just £2.95 and will be coming back soon to try this! All staff were polite and friendly and couldn't have had better service!

I bought fish and chips from here while visiting family. Fish cooked fresh while waiting. Friendly staff great take away, looked like it also had a small restaurant to the side. Small parking area at the front but plenty of pay and display a short walk away over the bridge. I would think because of its close proximity to the river and boat yard it would be advantageous for boat users.

Sorry to have to write a bad review but I'm afraid the fish and chips were the worst I have tasted.I Would not consider myself to be a picky eater but I ordered Huss and chips and have never seen Huss like that before!!Quality was poor,batter a nasty texture and colour.Chips ... Bland.What a pity as we were looking forward to our fish supper!!

A quiet like chippy with back restaurant. Nice for family with a baby. Helpful lady working, nice food greasy as you expect for a chippy. Ok priced. Possibility for a little more option on dessert menu.

Popped in for takeaway, the new lady serving was very chatty and polite the guy cooking the food done a very nice job abit it was only battered burger and chips but as I say very nice.I'm like others I've been coming here for over 20 years on an off as I've been passing or fishing near by, and every time iv'e had food here iv'e always been happy, that's why I keep using it.But warning to any business owners who slack or drop their standards the customer will just drive by.

Nothing in the cabinets, have to order and wait for it to be coioked and then when you get it, dissapointment. Admitedly not the most expensive in the area but there are much better for not too much more money.

Dirty over priced and staff looked like they did not entirely understand the concept of customer service..I cane to see the broads for a business opportunity and it needs something to give this area a good place to eat and drink!

visited today for takeaway chips as we were visiting the area. We have been here many times before and would rate as average but today they were awful. We only had the chips and glad we didn't waste any more money as they were terrible. The chips had obviously been cooked earlier ( maybe a day before...!!! ) they were very dark in colour and been reheated yet were only lukewarm. Yuk yuk we gave them to the seagulls tomato ketchup too. The lady serving us was very pleasant and funnily enough when we commented on the large sized portions she suggested we gave the leftovers to the seagulls but I didn't expect to give nearly the whole 3 portions to the poor seagulls. Wish we had driven a few miles down the road to a Great Yarmouth and bought proper seaside fish and chips.

Great fish & chip shop for takeaway serving various different products with small range of chutneys & other home cooked items for sale. Most items cooked to order & can get very busy. You often see folks queuing outside the door to even get inside!I think the same cooking ranges service the takeaway & the restaurant. I have always enjoyed the food but the service is sometimes a bit dubious. That said I will no doubt go back here again.Parking can be difficult as it is a busy place & is attached to an amusement arcade so sometimes you will find crowds of 'rowdy' younger people just outside the entrance.Nice on a Summer evening to buy from here then find a seat opposite to watch the pleasure cruisers, swans & ducks etc. Very relaxing after a busy day.

Went here after seeing the kids eat free with an adult sign outside but after ordering and paying told it is for the restaurant not the takeaway but not said that on the sign. Chips were nice and fresh but very expensive. Why do they feel the need to rip people off just because it is in a touristy place. Arcade next door but restaurant was empty. Not the best service. Will not waste money here again sadly as we do like Potter Heigham. Very expensive.
