Lots of very expensive pots, all were just plain colour, there were some nice coloured jugs, mugs, bowls etc in the shop, wouldn't rush back

I don’t normally leave reviews but the coffee here is amazing. The lady who works on Sunday is so lovely and the cafe is incredibly cute, colourful and full of pottery. Unlike anywhere else I have been. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a coffee and a slice of cake!!

A fabulous little eatery in the Pots and Pithoi shop. The service was so friendly and helpful it was reminiscent of something imagined in a PG Woodhouse novel. We chose the quiche and when asked if it was substantial, as we weren’t particularly hungry, we were told it was hearty. They were more than happy to split it. We sat at a quaint table and were very pleasantly surprised that it was served to us on two plates already halved and each accompanied by a very well dressed and delicious salad. The quiche was simply a triumph. The kind of quiche you would marry if your were single. Unctious and flavoursome with crispiest pastry; it was a joy. We live 30 miles away and only went there to choose a big pot but will be back. A destination quiche indeed.

Delicious salads and fab chicken souvlaki. Coffee is good too. Lovely atmosphere and you feel as comfortable eating solo as you do with a group of friends. As nice in the winter as summer. Lots of interesting items for sale. Yovi is always so helpful and it’s always great to see her welcoming smile

Met friends for coffee and cake and were very impressed. Very relaxing, caring staff and great cakes. It was raining, so we didn't get to see outside, but will certainly be going back again in better weather and perhaps having a meal. It all looked so good.

Search out this cosy, pretty little cafe which is part of a friendly, family-run business mainly selling Cretan pots, as well as homewares and gifts. The heavenly home-made scones are enormous, served with clotted cream and the most amazing home-made jam; we chose blackcurrant and it reminded me of my grandmother’s!

Visited this lovely place again with a friend for a catch-up, we’ve been coming here every few weeks the last four months. We love it for its friendliness, it’s coziness and it’s yummy cream teas! Bit disappointed to find this time that the price of two cream teas has risen from £8.95 to £10.90 which is almost a 22% increase! Realise of course, that costs are rising, but this hike seems a bit steep. It won’t stop us visiting but we may not be able to do so often.

Visited for a light lunch with family after a walk across country. Staff were welcoming, the courtyard was beautifully laid out and shady. The Cretan salad was the best Greek-style salad I have ever had; gorgeous olives, large chunks of red pepper. In addition they provide your own olive oil and balsamic vinegar so you can add just the right amount of dressing. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again. So good I told the kitchen staff!

I took a small group of walkers here for lunch. (6 of us). The whole place is beautiful. The large earthenware pots on sale outside look amazing, the gift shop is an upmarket Aladdin’s cave, full of goods in bright Cretan colours and many aromatic goods there too filling the gift shop with their aroma. One can eat lunch inside or outside in the very pleasant courtyard. We chose inside because we had been walking a couple of hours in the sunshine. The cafe is small and intimate and very relaxing. There are quiches, salads, chicken souvlaki and soup on the menu. Our meal was delicious and looked attractive too. We didn’t have cakes but they looked amazing on the coffee counter. Don’t eat here if you are in a hurry, the food doesn’t come quickly but that is part of the true Cretan atmosphere. Will definitely come here again.

We’ve been here as a family a couple of times and each time we are in love with the place. The tea rooms are gorgeous and are a real showcase of the items Pots and Pithou has to offer. The service is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We’ve bought a number of beautiful ceramics and they work so well in our home. The water features are also original and elegant. There’s a lovely atmosphere to the site - couldn’t be better. Worth a visit!

I recently visited Pots and Pithoi with a friend on the recommendation of my ceramic mad father! My experience was delightful, served with delicious food by a wonderful young waitress Emily who held a lovely conversation with me and really took the time to make us comfortable. I bought my pot and enjoyed a well earned meal - I would highly recommend the hummus mezze! My friend and I will certainly be returning for a repeat of last time.

Met a friend for morning coffee- and got to try the new autumn menu......and it was delicious. We both had the avocado on toast with feta. Delicious. We had to try the cakes afterwards- they were also of very high quality. All the staff were incredibly welcoming, warm, friendly and efficient. Everyone that walked past our table greeted us friendly and wished us well. This is the sort of 5star treatment that so many other places lack nowadays. It doesn’t take much to make a customer welcome- and everyone here does. I will be back and I will recommend it to everyone I know. Lots of mums on the runs coming your way for an hour break with a drink and cake. Thank you

This is essentially a retailer of Cretan Terracotta pots - and wow do they have a variety! However, on this occasion we decided upon visiting for mid-morning coffee and cake. We received a very warn welcome from the moment we parked the car and were served quickly and efficiently. Coffee was very nice and the cakes were as delicious as they were fresh. On this occasion we had a chocolate brownie and a (massive) slice of carrot cake. Prices are very reasonable. There is seating inside and out but as the sun was shining we decided to sit amongst the terracotta pots and olive trees. An absolute delight. There is a small farm-type shop with an eclectic selection of goods for sale. We actually told some friends about our visit and they decided to pay a visit. They also gave Pots and Pothoi Cafe the thumbs up.

We walked over from Turners Hill and had a lovely welcome and fantastic service from start to finish. We sat outside for lunch but then preferred to move inside for our delicious cream teas - the waitor carried our teas/drinks/plates inside and laid them out for us. Our lunch of panini's and soups were very good and the cream tea great. The environment to sit, listen to running water and amaze at the large pots is lovely. We will be back.

A couple of friends introduced us to this place a few weeks ago and we were so impressed we visited again this last weekend. Really this is somewhere to buy Cretan pottery but the way it's laid out feels like sitting in a garden on a Greek island listening to the water fountains and enjoying excellent if simple food. The entire staff are all so fiend and helpful; cold water served without asking and food freshly prepared without undue wait. Even if we did have to wait it would have been well worth it. This really is a place to visit even if it is off the beaten track!!We ended up spending more than anticipated as we also purchased a large Cretan earthenware pot which then required us to purchase some more plants from a craft fair the following week but that's another story!!

The pots are wonderful, the shop amazing, the staff lovely & the food delicious - but the prices??? They wanted £8.95 for what was basically a plate of posh lettuce & rocket, with about half a dozen small slices of beetroot, 6 halves of walnut & a tiny bit of bulgur wheat. When I quibbled I was told, well you had walnuts & bulgur & cranberries (did I??). Honestly, the food tasted great but it was a tiny salad compared with last time I was there. My companion had mozzarella with orange & olives - that is, six tiny bits of zested orange & four or five olives cut in half. None of this was worth the money they wanted (but I did quibble, so .......!). Sad, because after last time I was really looking forward to it.

Stopped for lunch because the smell from the cafe was wonderful and the limited and straightforward menu implied it would be quick. Our waitress very helpfully enquired how long the main courses would take and told us 20 minutes, so we opted for soup and mozzarella. This still took 15 minutes, but was tasty (the soup had lovely cumin-spiced pittas). My advice - place your food order before you browse the huge array of pots and your lunch will be ready at the same time as your pots.

Overall staff are very nice, beer is good, food portions are embarrassingly small, this was £18, the staff said they have used cod rather then haddock that’s why it’s smaller and thicker, it was tiny…. I’ve actually really enjoyed coming here over the last few years but probably won’t eat here again.
