Positano Express in Swansea

Arrived on Saturday to try the new buffet menu. What more can you ask for? Think we paid £7.95 all you can eat. Loved the fact you just pay one price and then help yourself. No waiting to be served etc Plenty of choice for all... Pizzas Meatballs Bolognese Chicken wings Nuggets Chips Etc. No complaints. we all left satisfied and it didn't break bank which is s bonus. Lovely casual place with good decor. Will be back!

I ordered garlic bread pizza with no cheese and it came with cheese. Absolutely awful place don’t ever come here

Overall I was very disappointed with the quality and taste of the food, service was okay. It was very confusing at first when I walked in so I headed to the bar where 2 servers didn’t seem interested in first. The food was served within 30 minutes of ordering and the drinks took 10 minutes. I order a Margarita pizza and my partner a Penne Pasta Carbonara with a side of Cheese Pizza Garlic Bread and a portion of chips. The pizza tasted okay but it tasted like a frozen pizza with some extra mozzarella on top. The Garlic Bread was dripping of oil so I let my partner eat it, the chips were nice. The Carbonara was a small portion and had no flavour as my partner told me. For the quality and value I cannot recommend this place especially with far better Italian Restaurants in and around Swansea. I went at 7pm on a Saturday and the music was very loud so just be wary if you want a nice chilled meal during this time.

A beautifully decorated venue with a good chilled playlist on the go, our server was lovely and the pizzas were very nice too, although i couldnt quite manage all of mine. Price was pretty good too :)

Lovely staff, chef was genuinely interested if we enjoyed the food and could see him looking over to see if we were enjoying. Prefer to the other site, will be back

Don’t take the risk - one day there’s a chef with passion and the food and service is ‘ok’ and the next day it’s totally opposite - appalling. I have pictures of the same dishes that show inconsistency. When I queried the young girl (waitress) about the inconsistency but she didn’t have a clue despite showing her pics. In fact she slammed my bottle of sparkling water and the glass onto the table. It was a combo disaster. I also mentioned to the young girl that the food wasn’t fresh and tasted like it was cooked from frozen to which she replied ‘it was cooked on the pan’ - clearly not trained properly (a uni student who has no idea about hospitality or life experience) - seriously frustrating, wasting my time and hard earned funds. In fact the only thing professional about that place is the pdq - takes your money rapid (lol) . Anyway as I was trying to articulate the issues I realised I was wasting my time. This restaurant needs to understand that proper experience and qualifications in hospitality is essential - my time and hard earned income is valuable to me - you must consider guests and not just do whatever it takes for their money. Especially on the high street where the restaurant is charging a premium. Poor quality - table and seating was dirty too. Definitely DO NOT recommend this place. Better off going to McDonald’s (honestly) at least there’s consistency, it’s fast and they also have manners - please and thank you etc. No manners here at all - the chef was shouting across to the girl asking if my starter and main course is to be served together - I had to politely intervene and say no. At one point the chef sent a message to say that different chefs cook garlic bread differently- hers was soggy and disgusting - a representation of her standards - also as it was an open kitchen I understood why - all the staff are visible. I sent a message back to say ‘can you pass on a message back to say that the other chef is better quality please?’ I don’t think I would risk it again. I actually paid full price.

It was very busy downstairs so we were sat upstairs and it didn't disappoint. the décor was beautiful and we had lovely views out over the gardens. Highly recommend.

Up there with the worst food I have had. Could not eat it. We originally wanted to go to ASK Italian but came here as it was busy. This restaurant had about 2 people in it. My boyfriend ordered carbonara and I ordered salmon pasta (described as creamy etc) Both pastas tasted burnt, the pasta was congealed, both tasted the same (no specific flavour) except his had burnt bacon chunks and I had what I am certain was a tub of smoked salmon flakes from the supermarket dumped in mine. Mine tasted like pure salt it was inedible. Will not return ever and warn others to avoid.

Went for a meal in this "italian" restaurant and ordered the lasagna, it was big but tasted nothing like lasagna very overpriced and the service was terrible and slow! There's an Ask italian restaurant down the road go there instead.

Went for a meal here with my two daughters and my mother as a treat, they sat a woman and a loud teenager behind us, I was trying to speak to my daughter and could not hear her as the girl was really loud so I turned around and asked if she could, please, be a bit quieter and the woman with her started calling me disgusting, told her to speak louder and was acting like a child herself. All of a sudden she told me "excuse me you can`t talk" and told me to shut the f up! I stood up quite annoyed as I had children on my table as well as my mother and in a loud voice I asked "why are you swearing at me?!" the kitchen manager came to me and took me outside for a chat and as I explained the situation he sympathized with me and said he`d probably react the same way if someone swore at him and his family. He asked me and my family to move tables to keep the peace and maintain a quiet environment to which I obliged because apparently "the other kid was already eating her food and he would not move them" Not even 2 minutes later we are asked to pay for what we had (starters) and leave as we were being refused service, after trying to plead with them to let us stay as the kids and my diabetic mother are hungry they said no, I needed to pay and leave. I tried to push a bit more for their understanding and at this point, the kitchen manager said he was getting frustrated and I was really annoying him showing an almost aggressive attitude by trying to grab my arm and ask me to leave. There was another woman who was the manager too but she was not helpful she kept ignoring me and said that she could not have people shouting in her restaurant, the woman that swore at us got to stay and enjoy her meal with a big grin on her face thanks to a biased and most likely racist management team! I feel for the people that have any issues in this restaurant as they just act like they are doing you a favour by letting you come into their restaurant. On a side note, we ordered two sides and they took 25 minutes to come out and we only got one of them, who takes 25 minutes to cook dough balls and cheesy chips?? Terrible is an understatement, avoid at all costs!!

Popped in on my lunch break and was pleasantly surprised!! Decor is fab, staff couldn’t be more attentive, and food was absolutely scrumptious and so so flavoursome. Have now booked for my partners birthday. Thank you all at Positano. Look forward to see you again soon.

I popped in with my family on Saturday evening. Despite being busy the staff still made me feel very welcomed and the food was amazing! My kids absolutely loved their pizzas and my carbonara was delicious. Staff really couldn’t do enough for you. I’m looking forward to returning!

Lovely little restaurant in the city center. it's right next tot he castle. There is an open kitchen too and you can see the chefs making the pizza fresh by hand. Will definitely return
