Papi’s Pizzeria in Swansea

Although we have some nice pizzas from here (toppings quite sparse) the last two have been burnt. Surprised they have been served as they were black and inedible. Staff can be quite rude if theres an issue.

Waited for nearly an hour for a very bland meal, and I don't plan to return here in the future. Not even a real attempt to apologise or offer something to compensate for waiting nearly half an hour longer than they had said it would take.

We ordered a takeaway and were told it would be ready in 40 minutes. It actually took 55 minutes but all is forgiven! Really tasty pizzas, pretty good value too! Would definitely wait the extra every time!

Best pizzas I have tried in Wales, this place was so needed. I wish there was one in Swansea but the Mumbles one will do for me.

I absolutely loved the pizzas from this pizzeria. There was confusion during the making of the 6 pizzas we ordered but thats ok. The pizza was fresh, tasty and overall very nice. Thanks Papi’s Pizzeria!

Having read and heard great things about the pizzas decided to cycle to mumbles to try it out and i must say i was not disappointed! Ordered the pizzas and collected without any issues and sat on the front and ate the pizzas. Lovely and fresh and great value for money, yes you can get cheaper pizzas from other places such a kebab shops but the quality really does not compare. The pizzas had perfect amount of mozzarella (which was delicious) and tomato sauce. Will definitely return again.

Funny how you can’t comment on the main page. Disgraceful delivery. Paid for extra cheese - put on base too so really chewy. Paid for lots of chillies. Got half of one sliced. Paid for extra mushrooms. Got less than half of a sliced mushroom. Disgraceful. Never again. I’m a local and will never use them again. I will buy from town.

We have had quite a few deliveries under the current circumstances. I must say the quality Is brilliant. The pizza is delivered with a smile and piping hot. All with a great authentic tasting pizza. Thank you.

my mum went on their app and did an order and it went through and it was £50! she then recieved an e-mail saying that the order was not succesful but will still keep the money. We then went to the shop and it said it was open but none of the lights were on and nobody was there. It is disgraceful! My mum has not got her money back and it was a treat for my sisters birthday who is 24 and we are in isolation.

I used to eat here a lot. Always poor service so I have stopped going. Staff can be friendly but rude if you aren’t happy with something. Never expect an apology. Long wait times even when it isn’t busy. A really good pizza, but does not justify the terrible service I’ve had multiple times.

Called into this small Pizzeria for a coffe but ended up having a meal.This is a small pizza restaurant which was big on friendlness. I needed a coffee while I was walking my dogs through the Mumbles and saw that it was dog-fiendly establishment. Canines are restricted to the two tables at the front of the restaurant but that was no problem on the day I called in. Decided to try one of their pizzas while I was there was was impressed by the service and the taste of the meal.

Quirky little setting in Mumbles with a delicious pizza menu to select from. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the friendly staff and the first thing you notice is the wood fired pizza oven! You know you’re in for treat straight away! I had the ham & pineapple pizza with spinach! Lots of toppings on the menu to design your own. Vegan and gluten free options available too! Win win

This is a good little pizzera in rainy Wales. The pizzas and trimmings are made in a traditional, wood-fired oven and taste really good. The decor is a bit basic and limited but this is easily forgiven. The wines are all, appropriately, Italian and the place also does beers from that country and very acceptable coffee. The toilets are clean but would be difficult for mobility impaired folk to negotiate. Service is friendly and you don't feel at all rushed.

The food was amazing and really worth the value! Me and mum had the antipasti to share, then two pizzas each, along with the fried zucchini and side salad. The pizza dough was light and crispy. The antipasti was a very good size for sharing. Would recommend and go again. The service was very friendly and quick. We were there for their lunch service.

Food was slow and the gluten free menu was appalling, we were charged £9 for a plain dish of tomato pasta which came significantly before everyone else’s meal. I had asked for vegetables on my pizza and was given a plain pizza with just cheese and tomato. We were not told when we booked that we had a limit to the time of our meal as our table was booked after us. We were then rushed out quickly and weren’t even given an option to order desert. We will not be returning

We both went off the Lunch special menu, wife had Margherita pizza and i had the pasta Siciliana which included freshly made bread. What a lovely vibrant fresh tasting lunch, will not hesitate to go back.

We wandered along Mumbles prom and tried to get into Prezzo. We couldn’t so went round the back of it and found this pizza restaurant. We shared a Piccante and a bottle of red. Lovely ! Great service great food , so glad we supported this independent restaurant and not a chain.

Music was not relaxing. Food okay, child friendly, and service was pleasant. Cut down on the garlic!

This was a delicious restaurant with great service There were vegetarian and gluten free options and the food was great!! They gave my daughter extra bread sticks to take for a snack. I would highly recommend this place!

Appalling food only topped by the price and the service! Do not go unless you like small sloppy pizzas at extortionate prices!

We’ve been here several times and did have some better pizza on our previous visits. At least the service was just fine as in one of our previous visits the waitress brought the can of Coke inside of the empty glass and left it there to be opened by us???

Such gorgeous food, the best pizza and carbonara we have ever had! Really great service and lovely friendly staff - feels like you're in a local favourite in the heart of Italy! Great value for money too.

The food was amazing. However, on a not too busy evening and having to wait 25 minutes for drinks, a further 15 minutes for olives and then half an hour for pizza was unacceptable. To top it off, they forgot our side dish, then I waited a good 8 to 10 minutes to pay. Poor show.

Had been meaning to try for some time and was not disappointed. It may not have the sea views but what you do get is authentic soft dough pizza. Absolutely delicious. We shared a capricciosa with polpette meat balls and zucchini fritte. Glass of house red was fine and I’m happy to add this little gem to my list of Mumbles favourites. Have a drink in the big chains round the corner, but come and eat here.

The pizza's are to die for, freshly cooked and just like you'd have in Italy. The garlic bread is the best I've ever eaten. The house wine is divine, the Nero D'Avola was delicious. Nice friendly service. We went back several times - the best place I could find in Mumbles.

I feel sorry for the people who spot mega-chain Prezzo on the seafront, and automatically go in there because “you know what you get, you know what you get” and so miss this fantastic authentically Italian pizzeria. For the same sort of price as you would get in Prezzo, you get utterly delectable pizza, freshly made in front of your eyes in a wood fired oven. It’s exceptional!

29 of us descended on the lovely family run restaurant for my husband birthday, we are a loud fun loving crowd, and we had such a lovely welcome, the food was delicious, and they catered to every thing we asked, thank you for such a great time x

Called in without a booking, they were busy but managed to get a table I had the lasagne which was extremely tasty and my partner had a calzone (meatballs) which he said was amazing, and I must say the meatballs were amazing!! Would definitely recommend this little gem!!!

Popped down for a last minute night out. Rocked up without booking and despite it being busy, we had a table in 5 mins. Staff are pleasant and service fast. Food is amazing and we'll definitely use the takeaway service in future! Knocks spots off the place behind it, even if they do slightly cheaper food.

Visited recently for a meal with friends and some family to celebrate a birthday!

We called in around 3pm, when we were wandering around Mumbles having missed lunch. I'm really glad we decided to try this place. We shared a pizza and it was lovely! Wood fired and it came out really quickly. We will definitely be back!

I live locally so have visited the restaurant a number of times since it has opened. There are a number of pizzerias in Mumbles and although I haven't visited everyone in the village, so far this serves the best pizza. Real wood burning stove, great pizza bases and top quality authentic Italian toppings what's there not to like, one thing the price. There are a number of other really good pizza places nearby such as Prezzo just round the corner and Castellamare a short walk away who both offer deals and discounts at different times and sea views so although Papi's might have the best pizza there might be other factors you might want to consider in your choice of places to eat.

Booked for a large group, great food & wine - service was good. Excellent value for money, we had a fabulous evening, well done Papis!

Had pepperoni pizza Saturday really liked the soft crust and the pepperoni is spicy just the way I like it.🍕

Recently visited Papi's for dinner with a friend - it had been on my 'must try' restaurant list for some time! We visited on a Wednesday evening and it was quiet. We both opted for a 'choose your own' pizza and there was an extensive list from which to choose toppings. The pizzas were a great size, tasted authentic and toppings were generous. There are also a couple of pasta dishes on offer which was good to see. We did want a dessert but there is only one option available (nutella dough balls) so as neither of us liked nutella we had to miss out and settle for coffees. That being said, I would definitely go back as the pizzas were great and service was friendly. A great addition to the restaurant scene in Mumbles.

Tried to phone for a takeaway pizza but couldnt. went down and waited and not a big wait. found it was an expensive place for a pizza. would only come on a special occasion

Had such an amazing experience at Papis this week. Everyone had the calzone and all were packed with filling, large in size and authentic. Service was excellent. Definitely try the Nutella doughballs!

Enjoyed our visit and got table easily. Service a little slow for initial drinks but that was just timing as 3 people working and big group arriving. Nice people and great to hear italian conversation. Mangiamo!

set lunch menu is very good value for money..

5 of us, previously booked for dinner, warm welcome and nice atmosphere here, excellent and very big pizzas made in wooden oven. We also had bottled lagers, Italian and the Welsh one.

we had a take away from this pizzeria on Saturday night. they were freshly made and were still hot when we had them. We think a delivery service would be helpful though.

I think its quite authentic. As close as it gets to Italian in Swansea. Pizza is good. And the staff is nice.

Start with the bad, the service was slow and a little bit disorganized possibly because we were a party of seven adults and five children.

We visited Mumbles in South Wales from Scotland recently for a fantastic summer break and stumbled upon this superb little find. The pizza here we thought (2 adults 2 kids) were as good as we've tried anywhere in this country, with the base crusts not going to waste as the tomato sauce from the meatballs we had was so good it needed mopping up!! My wife also really enjoyed her lasagna and the kids choices perfect for our 4 and 5 year olds. We'll definitely be returning asap!!

I've been going to Papi's since it opened in Mumbles around six months ago, for both eat in and takeaway. The pizza is always spot on and easily the best in the area, and the service is faultless. Last night's takeaway was the best yet and prompted this review.

When this place opened I was excited as I love authentic pizza! First 2 visits were AWESOME, thought I had pizza paradise 15 mins from home.

I was down for the Swansea 10k road race over the weekend. After the race I popped in to Papis for pizza and lasagne and have to say it turned out to be a good decision! The food was absolutely outstanding and worth the wait. Definitely recommend and will be back next year.

Been here before and enjoyed the fact that it was BYO.... but that has now changed. Unfortunately we weren’t told that when we booked adding considerably to the bill.

My offspring is extremely fussy when it comes to pizza. The marguerita pizzas which we ordered to take away hit the spot with a perfect 10. Great window to Watch the world go by whilst waiting. Would recommend.

Looked forward to this visit as we had heard a good review. I booked a table over the phone and was surprised to find on arrival that it was a ‘bring your own booze’ place. This had not been mentioned, so after a quick trip to Tesco we were seated. The order had to be placed at the till, and again, this wasn’t mentioned. The bruschetta for starters was lovely, but the pizzas were very disappointing. There was little flavour and the consistency was extremely chewy. Reading earlier reviews, something has gone very wrong!!

We had a table of 7, ordered a mix of pasta and Pizza, food tasted great, but let down by the service, my pizza turned up much later than everyone else's food,had to ask for knives and forks, had to ask for pepper, but received salt which we proceeded to empty onto our already salty pasta. Ordered 3 orders of meatball starters all of which were cold and had to be returned, so they are not temperature checking the food. On the bright side no licence yet so you could bring in beers without corkage, £3 corkage for wine.

Food was excellent, great pizza, friendly service. Kids meals are great value, freshly made, could have happily had the child’s pasta myself...in fact, think I did! Love the idea or bring your own booze. Next time I’ll leave the car and pop into Coop next door and get some bottles.

I ordered a pizza to take away over the phone at 8:00pm and was told to call at 8:20pm to collect it. Got to Papi's at 8:20pm and they told me there would be a 30 minute wait. Waste of time, won't bother ordering from there again.

All I can say is, AMAZING! Authentic, thin crust and tasty! The only place I've tasted a real authentic pizza in the Swansea area!

Our first time here. We saw from the outside a good big wood oven and the pizza always taste better this way. We had two pizzas and a mixed salad and everything was tasty. The only thing is that we wait more than 50 minutes and it was far too long for 2 pizzas. I think that our order was messed up and I asked the waitress to check it out after so long time...

Had some tasty pizzas as a takeaway. This is competitively priced for an eat in pizza rather than your standard pizza takeaway. Staff really friendly and good trendy decor. We were asked to wait 30mins and we were asked to comeback after a further 15min but other than that I’d recommend.

The answer is a big YES, their clay oven baked pizza is Italian to the last details, thin and not over powered with daw taste, full of flafour, well balanced and so morish. Well worth every penny. Well recommended. Down side is just 1 item on the desserts section, might want to add a couple more.

We had our dog with us so we decided to get a takeaway instead. We waited for our order at the foyer and they didn't mind that we had the dog and the staff were friendly. We had calzone, pepperoni pizza, zucchini fritters and Mamma's potato salad. One of the best we've had. I highly recommend this place.

Visited with 3 children who were all very happy with their pizza and pasta choices. Kids meals are decent portion sizes and you can take dogs into the front area of the resturant which is ideal on a sunny Day.

Quite basic surroundings but more than made up for by the stunning authentic Italian pizza. Byo wine helps the value too....nice service too 😄

Wow, based on the welcome alone you knew it was going to be good. An Italian family that cares about the food they serve were working the pizza oven and it was a lovely 'traditional' sight to behold. And we were not disappointed - the Calzone were outstanding and everybody's pizzas looked and tasted amazing. Expect large portions, a friendly family-orientated atmosphere and an immediate desire to repeat the visit as soon as possible. Forget the copycat chain restaurants, this is the place to eat in Mumbles.

This is new to Mumbles, and it’s a treat. Proper pizza, tasty stuff, nice & simple, really friendly staff, great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
