Portlands Pizza and Fish & Chips in Liverpool

Been here a few times now perfectly located close to marina were I have my boat Moored, usually have the large fish chips mush peas and even comes with slice lemon and tartare sauce absolutely gorgeous and quality is always the same perfect my other regular favourite is the homemade red doner absolutely fantastic and tasty I have to say this guy is doing great job there and clearly passionate about his business and serving customers with top Quality food I’ve Being in catering for 15 years previously and I would strongly recommend this place also spotlessly clean look forward to my next visit 🤙

Lovely food packed in mostly recyclable packagingZ always well cooked fish. Definitely worth it I’d say.

Under new ownership this place has become a weekly event. The food and service are top notch. The fish and chips are seriously five star. The red donner is seriously good too.

A very warm welcome from the new owners. Quick service, food was unreal, great portion sizes too. Opening hours are far better, they are now open every day.

Lovely welcome from the new owners we’ve been coming to this chippy for years and seen people come and go and the food has been excellent , good and not so good at times Well today we were not disappointed at all, absolutely lovely food of great quality and quantity and served up beautifully. Delicious food, fish and chips the best I've tasted in a long long time in liverpool and try the red donner meat you won't be disappointed, the owners have only been there two months and are a lovely young family,

It is so unreliable, owner opens the shop as and when he can be bothered from the looks of it. Tried to attend this place three times now, states on website open until 9pm.. however as per arrived and no one here and it’s been closed all day. We as a whole family will stay with Steve’s chippy around the corner, just thought it would be nice for a change.

Having passed the chippy many times we decided to drop in and give it a try. We sat in the van to eat but should have drove past as the chips were cold and the pie even colder. This was the worst pie and chips I have had for a long time. If you cannot serve hot food don't bother to open. When traders accept cash only you should think twice. Never again and a complete waste of money.

Worst chippy I've been to in a long time. Dropped in at lunchtime for a take away in-between jobs. I sat in the car looking forward to my chippy meal and nibbled at warm chips and sausage. They only accepted cash which was a little awkward. Would not go back and would not recommend. I put more in the bin that I ate.

Enjoyed the food and the curry was one the nicest curries I have had from a chip shop. When I looked at the menu prices and totaled up what we were charged we had over paid. When I questioned it he pointed to a small written sign on the wall and said that some prices will not match to what is on the till. Leaves a bit of a sour taste in an other wise enjoyable meal. EG can said £1.00 on the wall and charged £1.40. He did not once even say the prices will be different. Maybe I would be less bothered if he had said it when we ordered it just comes across as devious.

Used to come here a couple of years ago. Fish used to be fresh, crispy and served with lemon. Visited again today and shop stunk, staff member on phone while preparing food. Chips were stale and tasted nasty. Fish was ok but looked like a sole of a shoe, flat and bland.

Used this more than once, very engaging young lady behind counter, friendly staff , fish and chips superb, sat outside in glorious sunshine, genuinely felt like we were on holiday, one of my favourite places to visit

We came here for takeway on lockdown 2 so we could still eat outside We have always found the staff lovely especially the lady. On this occasion there seemed to be different people milling out but ordered and opened the box outside. I see on a previous review that someone mentioned the batter. I also found this it had a strange taste to it and was also bright orange for some reason. Sorry wont be going back.

2 staff messing on phones whilst all the counter was dirty even the staff looked unclean. I allways give an honest review but this place might even get a visit from the health and safety

We visited here on a Saturday and it was very busy and crowded when we showed up. The woman that served us was flawless, so professional and friendly and talking to us about our excursion to Liverpool and the neighbourhood. The food was excellent, I may even go the extent that it is the best fish and chips I've ever ate! The fish was fresh, crunchy outside and delicious inside, which is exactly what you want and need from a great fish and chip shop!Would definitely recommend and visit again!
