A lovely location and ideal to stop off for a welcoming cup of tea when walking the coastal path. There is a very good selection of food for vegans. We are not vegan so those options were not high on our preferred choice. There was a lot of lettuce under the crab in the bowl. We should not have had to ask for the large dog sprawled out across the entrance to be moved so that we could actually get out. The owner seemed to be oblivious to the obstruction caused.

Came here twice for lunch last week - the building is rather rundown and in dire need of some structural work at the moment (hole in the roof and broken window) but don't let appearances put you off. The inside has real vintage charm and the food is simple yet delicious and good sized portions. My Mum and I enjoyed it so much we went twice in one week (cheese scone highly recommended by my Mum and I loved the tuna, cheese and red onion relish baguette, the small amount of potato salad on the side was also excellent). Staff were friendly and prices reasonable. To sum up you're spoilt for choice with a wide range of fresh tasting food and in a beautiful location. Would be perfect if some money was spent on repairs to let the unspoilt vintage charm really shine.

Friday 25th August 2023, My husband and I went to Mullion Cove and spent the morning sitting on the harbour wall soaking up the lovely sunshine and enjoying this wonderful scenery. I found inspiration here as I wrote a poem called ‘Mullion, Oh!, Mullion’. A quick sharp squally rain shower forced us to the ‘Porthmellin Tea Room’, on the quay for refreshments. We were served by a lovely Cornish Lady, who owned the tea room, which was very pretty and done out in lovely seaside blue and white check. My husband had a nice pot of tea and a buttered toasted teacake. I, too had a buttered toasted teacake and a very nice latte coffee. We spent a lovely hour here gazing out over the harbour and its pretty fishing boats. This lovely tearoom is well worth visiting

Nestled by the picturesque harbour, Porthmellin Cafe is a true gem that offers an exceptional Cornish tea experience. The highlight of our visit was the mouthwatering scones served with generous dollops of Cornish cream and homemade jam. The scones were impeccably baked to perfection, boasting a light and fluffy texture with a subtle hint of sweetness. Topped with the velvety Cornish cream and the luscious homemade jam bursting with the essence of fresh fruits, each bite was sheer bliss. The Cornish cream tea was served in a charming setting, with views of the serene harbour enhancing the experience. The cafe's ambience was inviting and cosy, making it the perfect spot to unwind and indulge in this quintessentially British tradition. If you find yourself in this charming coastal town, do not miss the opportunity to treat yourself to this amazing Cornish tea experience at Porthmellin Cafe by the harbour. Went for a walk along the coast path and bumped into this little cafe. Was surprised at the cost of a crab sandwich (10.40) but indulged anyway. Stood at the take out hatch and had to propmt a young lady to take my order, just put this down to youth and inexperience. Order was simple, one crab sandwich but had to repreat this three times! Waited 20 minutes and when finally presented in a polystyrene box had no semblance of empathy from the same young lady, for my long wait. During the wait I had the chance to see the other staff in action, All the same I'm afraid, clueless in the aspect of customer service. Not their fault, I suspect cost saving by the proprietor and lack of training. The sandwich? OK but no value added from the establishment and let down both the cheap, eco unfriendly packaging and poor service. Probably good value at 5-6 pound, a rip off at 10+

Table needed a good wipe and clean up as crumbs etc from a previous customers food.I dont like this and it put me off. Drinks were ok - would not use again.

No other establishment in Mullion Cove. Table was dirty we sat at. Order for 2 drinks had to be written and repeated!! Nice location. Can't comment on the food.

We were made to feel very welcome when we popped in for a spot of lunch along with our two dogs. The staff are lovely, so friendly and helpful. The crab sandwich was amazing, stuffed to capacity, I’m told that the pasty was good too! We will definitely visit again. Loved it!!

Welcoming and friendly staff; pretty decor; food of good quality and great value. The view from the window by our table was an added bonus. A lovely lunchtime.

Excellent service and very friendly. Went above and beyond to ensure me and my boyfriend were fed. And the food was lovely. Would recommend to anyone. Only a 2 minute walk from where we are staying and Mullion Cove Lodges and has amazing views.

We popped in to this homely little cafe on our coastal path walk. The home made soup was delicious and the warm roll was most welcome. We are not seafood eaters but we heard others saying how much they were enjoying their crab sandwiches. For a Monday in late September the place was unexpectedly crowded probably because the sun had brought people out, so there was an inevitable wait but that was not a problem for us. The staff were unfailingly cheerful and coped well with the rush. Our dog was also made to feel welcome and we would not hesitate to recommend this delightful little establishment right on the harbour front.
