After a busy day shopping we called into Porcellis for some fish and chips. Ordered a large fish and my goodness was it large! Nice fresh chunky flakes of fish I will definitely be back. The girls serving were an absolute delight thank you very much

Discussing service being to fyck off out shop just because I refused to pay £5 for chips with curry sauce wich I get from there every week for£ 3.50, lass behind counter is rude and a liar tried to say I had swore wich i never there was 5 or 6 people to witness this in absolute shock that anyone would speak to customer like that just because I didn't want to pay for something I normally get charged 3 50 the lass behind counter is notthing but rude and disrespectful

Great gluten free fish and chips

Great choice of Gluten free options.

Worse fish and chips I haver ever had in my life. Chips rock hard, like they had a plastic coating. Batter on fish rock hard, almost like it was double layered. Fish inside the thick batter was tiny, fairly tasteless and grey in colour.

The worst chips in Gateshead absolutely disgusting tray full of scraps, used to be one of the best chip shops in Gateshead not anymore

The worst chip butty I've ever had, chips were anaemic,and so hard & more like darts than chips, MVG or Phil Taylor wouldn't have looked out of place throwing these.

Staff are lovely. Best to call in advance as food is fried to order. Large cod and chips is £11.20. There’s lots of parking outside and they take card. It shuts quite early. It was pretty standard quality - maybe a bit greasy. It’s an OK option for the area but probably wouldn’t go back. The tartare sauce is nice. Not a fan of the other sauces/sides though.

Excellent food and staff. The best venue for gluten free fare in the area. Good prices. The only gluten free chippy to offer this standard of food and service for miles. Visit them today (or tomorrow)

Fish and chips for my dinner was beautiful friendly service and quick the food was lovely

Absolutely disgusting! Spent £9 to go straight in the bin fish was off or something. Tasted really bad and when it was open the smell was enough to turn your stomach. My friend got a sausage and after a bite of that it went straight in the bin as well. Chips tasted like old grease. Wouldn’t go back here if I was starving and had a free meal voucher

Just had some food from porcellis and everything was amazing and they went the extra mile to accommodate me as I have disabilities it is probably the best chip shop in Gateshead

Use this chippy when on team valley dissapointed today that the chips were reheated probably my fault for going early

Absolutely fantastic service tonight girls in the shop were very helpful and very knowledgeable about Gluten free, made me feel safe in ordering would definitely recommend to other celiacs.

Recently stumbled across this chippy and loved the fish and chips, much cheaper than most chip shops these days too.

Over cooked hard scrap chips with a mushy soft batter sausage, went in the bin,will definitely not eat from there again

Nice fish. Chips over done..... However 1 hr and 10 mins late on delivery time is not acceptable. 2nd time this has happened to us so they haven't learned from previous good Fridays..... I now have learned ... Sorry

One of the best chippies in Gateshead. Simple chippy menu, always have loads of batter ready.

I'm foaming I ordered fish n chips yesterday for 5pm today. Thinking they will be less busy. Waited till 6 rang them . They havnt got an order for me . Dont order from them unreliable.

I went today at lunch time and the service was terrible, if i had know it would take a hour and a half for 3 Haddock and 2 chips and 2 cartons of curry (that i paid for but never got ) They concentrated on getting the orders that had been ordered on line, at the finish i had to ask if they were still serving the people waiting out side and was told that they got a bit behind with the orders. So many people got sick of waiting and left, i would of done the same but they take your money when you order, when i mentioned this to the girl who was serving she said you cant please every one. Very very rude.

Passed it going along for sandwich at bakers at end,, but been told its lovely but never opens night time, me personally could think of nowt worse than fish n chips doon valley day out at coast different gravy 😄

Best fish cake and chips I’ve ever had!

The large cod would be a medium anywhere else chips not very nice little greasy and soggy when you ask for a small portion of chips they do mean small and had a strange taste very salty even though no salt was put on the fish recommendation no!

Decent fish and chips, if a little greasy. But that comes with the territory. The burgers are the ultimate in low quality guilty food. Curry sauce is very tasty. Proper chip shop curry.

It's a lovely looking place but very expensive

Based right in the middle of the Team Valley Industrial Estate this small fish and chip shop can get really busy at lunch time but it's worth the wait as the food is really good and is reasonably priced. The shop and counters are always spotless and the staff are really pleasant.

Great fish and chip shop, but the opening hours are infuriatingly bad!

This place is impeccable. Just look around the shop while you wait for your freshly cooked fish, the attention to detail and the cleanliness is second to none. Followed up by pleasant service from happy staff, well worth the travel.

Bought some Fish and chips on Good Friday. Very disappointed all batter no fish, fish wasn't flakey as cod should be. Makes me question if it was cod. Won't be going again.
