Order came out cold after waiting an hour and half, phoned and they said they would send a replacement meal, forty minutes later drive phoned to say he couldn't park so had taken the meal back. I demanded a full refund. Would not recommend them.

Really tasty Chinese food, generous portions and friendly service. We live too far for delivery although have been staying at our daughters so we have only been round the corner and have made the most of it while we have been here. I recommend their Spare Ribs with Chili & Garlic, Satay Chicken is really good too and so are the tempura prawns and the chow Mein. Very happy, thanks for feeding us while we been here ;)

First time trying poons last week & it was very good. Ordered the salt & pepper munchy box & roast pork chow mein. The munch box even though for 2 people fed 3 of us & with left overs as well. The chow mein wasn’t eaten until the next day but was still as tasty & a large portion too! Will definitely order again. I was told approx delivery would be 45 mins - 1 hour & it was delivered just after 1 hour :) The only down side was it wasn’t hot when it arrived but nothing a few minutes in the oven couldn’t fix.

Ordered food for delivery yesterday. Nice and friendly delivery driver!! Very happy with the service, food. - tasty. Would recommend! Duck is amazing, could eat this until I pop !

Absolutely shocking worst in town. No manners wheb I rang terrible cook even the dog walked past it when I put it in her bowl

After 45 mins no show on delivery, called and had very confused conversation and got no satisfaction and asked for money back. Meal eventually arrived stone cold, driver said he was stuck in traffic accident, we live less than a mile from restaurant yeh right....! Never again I would not recommend this take away, very poor food & service.

Ordered food from here a couple of nights ago and it was lovely, super quick service and fast delivery. Had egg fried rice, mushroom chow mein, chicken with cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce. Arrived hot and was very tasty and flavoursome, first time ordering from here and will use them again.

ordered our usual chicken curry etc., was not cooked right. the sauce was watery, thin. we threw it away. very disappointing considering it took 1 hour 45 minutes to arrive. have you got a different cook at Poons, it was good for years now suddenly rubbish.not sure if we will use again unless food goes back to how it was.

ordered a big order . everything was fine except the chicken curry arrived with no chicken - when i called politely they just said there was chicken put in . no good never again

Ordered a Chinese Neal from Poon's waited nearly two hours phoned twice to be told it's on the way and when it finally turned up it was cold so had obviously been waiting while they got other meals ready definitely won't use them again shame because the food is nice at the correct temperature but if you are paying over £40 for a meal you don't expect vto have to cook it when it arrives

Poons is now the best takeaway in Hemel. Now using less five spice, so curry is perfect. Very helpful staff, will answer queries and make suggestions with patience and politeness. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is great and delivery fast. Average less than 30 minutes. Having tried most restaurants in Hemel I now stay with Poons. Highly recommended.

Really sadly did not enjoy our last takeaway from Poons, they deliver and take card payments which is a massive bonus and they’re normally a solid bet. Chicken balls were extremely soggy and undercooked, not appealing or even edible, the sweet and sour sauce was very vinegary and the rice dice I ordered was the total opposite and very over cooked, so disappointing and would have to say it would take a lot to go back again now.

Crispy Duck was cremated and tasted like a bit of burnt toast. Chicken Chilli & Salt was fried to death and no chilli in it! Just a load of raw onions. Rice was stodgy. Landed up throwing the whole dinner in the bin.

3 star Hygine rating. I can see why, I ordered a Chinese for a change, firstly the order turn up wrong not even sure what the price was as was never told at the start , so I call them back , whoever answered the phone couldn't understand a word I was saying as I tried telling them it was wrong , in frustration after slowly 3 times I hang up, just though we would just eat, BUT all the food was awful , chicken in yellow bean was like water the chicken was slimy and no flavour , prawn toast , was burn and just toast, egg fried rice no egg in it, list goes on, I'll just stick to my usual in future Indian night, never use poon's again......

Poons make nice food but I do have one issue. They use too much fivespice. It is way too strong and made my daughter sick. Otherwise food is good deliveries slow usually 1 to 1 and half hour wait. best pick it up.

We were impressed with Poon’s, a friend had recommended them. The portions were generous (double size of the competitors a few doors away). The food was tasty and great value. My husband and I had Chicken chow mien, crispy shredded beef, special fried rice, chicken balls with sweet-and-sour sauce. We didn’t order prawn crackers but they were in the bag when we collected the take away so complimentary. The whole order Came to £18.90 There was easily enough for 3people to have generous portions or to do what we did and both had Chinese for lunch the next day. We would both recommend Poons and will definitely be back.

I loved my first delivery of poons. Couldn't believe how good it was. Second wasnt as great though. Worth a try deffo. And 10pound minimum delivery

Always use Poon's , food is always hot tasty and always get free prawn crackers (knackers as I call them )

Intenté después de vivir de poons zona por un tiempo (podría ser la mejor vuelta) así que fue decepcionante. Yo esperando 1 horas 20 minutos por 3 platos, salsa dulce y agria era como agua y sabía horrible, la carne y champiñones no era comestible. No lo recomendaría! !

Usando Poons durante muchos años y puedo decir honestamente que no puedo recordar haber tenido un plato mal.

No sólo el servicio es lo que se puede esperar de un sitio Chino en términos de ordenar - hay una razón por la cual esta para llevar local no necesita ser en hungryhouse o justeat - y eso es porque siempre está ocupado. De probar otros sitios de comida para llevar en el área local, siempre quédate con Poons. La comida siempre llega bien caliente, que es menos grasienta que otras, rápido en el teléfono, el precio es excelente y la entrega es rápida. No me puedo quejar en absoluto.

Este es el mejor que he probado en Hemel Hempstead hay muchos otros, pero el sabor y la sencillez para que platos es excepcional la carne crujiente de frío es preciosa y los fideos Singapur son las mejores que he probado!! Y es muy buena relación calidad

Poons es uno de los más fiables escapadas en hemel hempstead. La comida es buena y siempre caliente cuando llegue. El personal es cortés y servicial cada vez que uso Poons. El menú tiene algo que ofrecer a todo el mundo aunque tiendo a reordenar las mismas cosas.

Ordered a takeaway, took absolutely ages had to phone up to check where it was, told driver was new, eventually got food, it was cold, king prawn chop suey was watery the prawns were see through, phoned to complain and was told that we could have 2 x king prawn chop suey's free next time we ordered. Won't be ordering again

Buena comida china en un precio razonable. Nosotros usamos esta llevar sobre una base regular y nunca me ha decepcionado.

Hemos comido aquí antes y no tuvimos ningún problema pero recientemente la comida (ordenada a llevar) ha tomado un tiempo largo para llegar a nosotros. Esta es la única mejora que puedo sugerir que se ha hecho. La comida es buena y no tuvimos problemas. Continuaremos a la orden si no es de esperar un largo :)

We have had several take aways from this place and have never been served a bad dish. We didn't use the delivery service as we live quite close by. Shrimp Chow Mein, Veggie spring rolls, prawn crackers, chicken chop suey and meat spring roll plus prawn balls in sween n sour sauce. All served piping hot from a very pleasant lady on the front desk.

Delivery took over 90 minutes, no apology or explanation, I had to call the place twice because they said they would call me back and didn't, then chase when the delivery would be arriving. What arrived was horrible quality. I have no idea what kind of meat was in the beef chow mein but it definitely wasn't beef, and it looked mouldy. The Prawn Toast was soggy and falling apart, the container of egg friend rice was only two thirds full, and the mini spring rolls morfed into 3 large pancake rolls that were absolutely dripping in grease. Worst takeaway I have ever had. Save your pennies and order from somewhere else.

Phoned an order in at 7pm comprising of 6 dishes and was told it would be about an hour which we thought wasn't too bad for a Saturday night, half hour later our food arrived piping hot and very tasty, ok we only live a mile away but even if I had gone there and ordered it myself it wouldn't have been quicker or hotter, free crackers too, couldn't be happier.

It's 30th august and we waited for over 2 hrs for a meal after being told it would take 45 mins and after 5 calls to the takeaway we were told that the food was on it's way they lied to us 5 times. I would suggest if you would like a Chinese with good service , please find a different Chinese in Hemel Hempstead as poons kitchen would definitely not be on the last for Chinese food in Hemel Hempstead. I wish everyone good luck who wants good food and service from the poons kitchen as it is awful and the female manager has a rod up her bottom and will not put the customer first. Very unhappy will not order again.

Having tried all 3 of the Chinese takeaways on that strip of The Marlowes, Poons is definitely the best. Tasty, well priced portions and a friendly service. We get takeaway from here at least 3 times a month and have never been let down. Definitely our go-to Chinese!
