Honestly the best chinese in Hemel. It's what I call 'clean' food. Non greasy. Tasty. Good portion sizes. And at a very reasonable price.

After 2years of searching for nice Chinese food in Hemel Hempstead, FINALLY! Hot, fresh, tasty, good portions, not drenched in oil. Didn't make me feel rough for days afterwards. Will definitely be going back. AND, reasonably priced. So so glad I found this place.

Never ever had an issue from Great Wall, so when I ever am in Hemel, this is always my go to Chinese! Food always arrives piping hot, and price is competitive. High recommend this Chinese 👌🏻

Food took over an hour to come. The Chow mein was terrible … dry, and a few bits of chicken thrown in. Prawn toast greasy and tasteless. Very disappointing

Best take away in town! The only place who do vegetarian duck! This place was Highly recommend to me! And i highly recommend it too! The food was great, gave a call when food was ready, kept it warm, the service was the best. I am definitely going back!!

Ordered hors d’oeuvres for two and set meal B for one, which made the most amazing platter for 2 people. Not had a Chinese in years and this exceeded my expectations! Proper chicken balls, generous prawn on toast, succulent ribs and large satay chicken sticks. Ordered and paid in advance on the website and it was ready for collection. Fantastic food and excellent service. Highly recommended!

Gave me horrific food poisening then when I rang the restaurant to request a refund they were sarcastic and rude.

Always get my food from here , always hot and fresh my children especially enjoy the salt and chilli chicken pieces also being gluten free they make me rice noodles with no soy sauce also lovely and always hot also great customer service !!!

Just had Sweet and sour pork HK style, house special Chow Mien, a.d egg fried rice. I can honestly say it was one of the best takeaways I've had and it was 5 mins early. First class

This place has the most excellent vegetarian crispy aromatic "duck" - when I ordered it I was expecting something prepared but was very pleasantly surprised.

This place has improved dramatically over the years. Had a fabulous takeaway last night, reasonably priced, quickly prepared. Only does delivery via various apps, so we just picked it up instead!

Kitchen very very tidy…Rice and chicken noodle is smell like burnt .they use the water clean wok and use again tidy water. Oh my god!!!!! Ministry of Health Should be come….

I do like this chinese, the food is cooked very well and the staff are friendly. The 3 star rating is because its cash only can't use cards delivery is available but is a long wait depending on area you live in.

Great food, quick and friendly service. Order then 10 mins later pick up, very happy and friendly staff. Happy to order again and again with no worries, food is filling and plentiful and very tasty.

Ordered online at 18.25 specified delivery time for 20.00.... Bloke shows up just before 19.00 so I sent him away. Phone the shop, sorry didn't see what time you wanted it. We will cook it fresh and deliverer again..... Watch this space for a comment

Weak portion size for what you pay. Flavours aren't really that good either. The only upside was the vegetarian duck.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery to celebrate a family birthday. It took over 90 minutes to arrive and we had to reheat some of it! A few hours later & I had a really bad upset stomach! We have ordered from here before & the quality was good, however it's poor now! We won't be ordering from here again! Avoid!!

Ordered takeaway came on time food was hot, but the quality was very poor, spare ribs were very dry, pork balls the dough was raw inside, lemon chicken was dry and greasy. Sesame prawn toast was very greasy. First and last order from Here

The Thai noodles were congealed and tasted overly of smelly fish. The chicken balls were okay but had slight whiff of fish. The ribs were just about edible and the chow Mein was rubbery and flavourless. Won’t return.

Hadn't used Great Wall for quite a while. Happy that the quality of the food is as good as ever. I will be using Great Wall regularly from now on as I regard it a one of the best Chinese takeaways in the area.

Portions are small. Ordered Singapore fried rice which had like 10g of meat inside disappointed. Not even a prawn inside. Would never order here again. Do not recommend

Place is stinking, food is sloppy, they regularly give the wrong food, the staff are rude and don't know the meaning of customer service, they have never ever had a food rating by the local council, speaks volumes, oh they only except cash which is wrong

Never had a bad meal from here, the Ribs are really nice. Good value and have now fitted screens to help with distancing measures. Latest meal was as good as ever.

Ordered some food tonight for the first time. The service was really nice. Fast and friendly. I had to write a review after tasting the food when I was at home. Best Chinese takeaway food i have ever tasted.

Food nice but very tight I go there all the time spent loads money there and they couldn't do a tiny favour back and let me off 60p I was short ... I mean come on they made me put the chips back how tight is that

Food quality is good never had a problem but the last 3 times I have ordered they have always been 15-20 minutes late! They used to always be dead on time but it's getting a bit silly now

Good food and very friendly staff, never had a problem here yet, don't understand what others are fussed about, has passed all relevant hygiene and food safety checks. I've never had any problems here and been eating grub from here for over 20 years

Cant even use a star to describe this shocking attempt at cooking this evening. 1st off the food took a little over 1hr 30mins to arrive. The spare ribs were warmish then still red and cold in the middle amd full of fat!!!! The curry sauce (told by staff it was meant to be thick) but having to cut it out from the cup with a spoon because it would even pour out..... gonna go make some cheese on toast now!!!!

Cockroach found in chicken balls. Will never eat there again. Chung wah in London Rd much better

All main dishes were noticeably watered down to stretch serving capacity, reducing any distinguishing flavour. Dishes that weren't watered down (chow mein) were actually really flavoursome. Delivery was almost twice what was initially quoted.

When food good it's great, but too inconsistent. Food was not fresh, tasted strange. Sorry but I can't take the lottery re quality anymore. It seems that food tastes off or old sometimes, guess it depends how busy they have been!

We ordered through just eat because we couldn't access cash at the time so we couldn't use our usual Chinese takeaway. The Great Wall Chinese in bennetts end was awful. The food was delivered on time but it tasted disgusting. I had a rice dish that tasted like a kilo of salt had been used. Will never use them again

We were starving and after a very long day, wanted someone else to cook for us. It took a long time to get our food. We wish that we had gone out. The food was just average and we have tasted better from several other places.

Not happy with the service, never ordering from here again. False delivery time on the justeat website... They were around 2 hours late and the first time I called the guy told me they haven't even cooked it yet and told me if I'm not happy I didnt have to order with them (I had already paid) and when they were still an hour late, I tried to call them (about 12 times) and they purposely ignored all my calls.

I have been using the Great Wall for almost 30 years, it is our local and would have always classed it as the best Chinese! However there are new chefs in and the food just isn't what it used to taste like, it is hit and miss! Tonight's Chinese was absolutely awful, which is a shame because after a bad run previously with their food we decided to give them another chance. Delivery took an hour and it was cold. I asked for curry extra hot and it came milder than usual. Maybe Wednesday night is the night of the bad chef!
