Friday night at the place was dead. A couple of people at the bar. No music despite a band listed on gig guide. Dodgy area too lots of drunks

This place is awesome. Amazing real ale brewed on site. Friendly, knowledgeable owner. Regular live music, great vibes. A great change from the dull chain pubs in every other town.

In Bournemouth for a few days and wanted to see some live music on a Wednesday night. So lucky to find Poole Hill Brewery and drop in on their Jazz night, after a search on local Facebook groups. Super atmosphere and the band, Mambossa, were excellent.

Great beers, mostly brewed on the premises. Good selection of alternatives, incl coffee. Regular live music. Update, Dec 2022. Six of us went on the brewery tour during xmas break. It was good fun and we all learnt a lot about the art of brewing & tasting. Update July 2024: Beware content vandals keep messing about with the opening hours stated on google maps. Best to look at the brewery website for true opening hours

Absolutely love this place. Helped us out hosting a party at short notice when we were let down by another venue. All the staff/owners were amazing accommodating us. Bar was fab, great beer. Loved the band and dancing all night!!

Jennifer was a wonderful hostess and the atmosphere was amazing. 10/10 would come again.

Poole Hill Brewery is a rare and beautiful thing...consisting of a micro brewery, producing and selling fine Southbourne ales in what must be described as a 'proper' pub. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, particularly at weekends with outstanding acoustic music where participation is encouraged. It's more than a pub it's a community...a flavor of the days of old. The proprietors have achieved something very special here!

Had to pop in after seeing it advertised on the High Street. I love a micro brewery and it was good fun. I didn't have any food but had a couple of the stouts. I recommend the stroller stout, it had notes of chocolate and was delicious. The bar lady recommended us a drink and let us try before we buy which is a bonus. She was welcoming and I'm just sad I couldn't stay for the open mic night! It seemed like it was getting busier and was a local favourite.

Nice place to have an entertainment as well as a nice pint where you’re welcome by locals as well as staff. Real nice ales, unique atmosphere in a good way, a traditional pub with lovely decor about music. Live music by local bands is really cool touch. Such nice entertainment. It was surprise for me. Had really good time there.

My friend played trumpet with "Fever Street" and we had a delightful afternoon of good music and convivial staff, highly recommend (lovely landlady)

V friendly pub, good beer.great staff. Returned many times now, Jenny the landlady, is that still the right word, is amazing at keeping the beer good and generating a warm feeling throughout the whole place. Just go and be yourself.

Quiet pub, in the afternoon, with lovely brewed beers. Limited wine selection. Live music and comfy seats.

Excellent real ale, friendly staff and entertainment

We stopped by for a drink on Saturday. There was live music and everyone was having fun. Everyone looked pleased.

We went to the open mic night on Sunday and what a fantastic night it was. Beautiful beer ( brewed on site I believe ) lovely staff and some truly superb music - a mix of bands and solo performers.

Great pub with beers brewed on site, best in the area! Live music is a treat and staff are all welcoming and friendly. Did the brewery tour with Jenny which was a great way to spend a couple of hours. Would definitely recommend spending an evening enjoying the atmosphere and (of course) the beer!

Just had a fantastic guided tour by Haydn, very knowledgeable and generous with the beers. Would highly recommend!

Friendly service free wifi. 4 of their own beers on cask, 4 guest taps and some of their own beers bottled. Some cans in the fridge but not sure if they are their own or guest beers. Live music on the night I was there.

Brewing Southbourne Ales, a must for cask ale lovers. Live music venue aswell, in a Victorian themed tap room.

Officially the best real ale pub in Bournemouth. Great beers, brewed on site, and the barman is an awesome singer. Ah, they also have a cinema room downstairs!?! Get up that hill, it's well worth it!

Always good for live music. Great prices. Good for pre-drinks with the music before the local nightclubs.

I really liked being here...it is a bit of a strange place to enter, but the guy at the bar was very welcoming...let us have a taste of some of their more obscure beverages and then served us our choices. Obviously setting up for a nights entertainment (which we were not able to stay for) but was promising! Loved the gents wall decorations....hubcaps from many different classic cars! Quirky!

Such a lovely pub. I came here for a jazz evening which I'll be coming to every Wednesday I can! Staff are always lovely

I've been coming to Poole hill brewery since it opened. I think they have done a fantastic job, great decor and atmosphere and wonderful staff. I just love the beer which is always good and well kept. Add the music to the mix makes for a great afternoon or evening. It's a must place to go if in Bournemouth

Jenny is a first class brewer and she has done all the themed artwork herself! Great atmosphere for friendly chat and loyal clientele. Well managed arrangements for the current situation (July 20) makes more nervous customers confident about safety. Live music again soon (hopefully) livens up the weekends. Great place for real ale on the west side of the town centre.

Went in on a quiet Monday evening, but still received a warm welcome from Jennifer. When we visit again will happily spend an entire evening trying all the beers.

I took my mum and my dad here for a surprise and they loved it! Really good tour guide! Knows what he’s talking about, friendly and really knowledgeable! Good tasting bear, nice little brewery! Would definitely buy more of their bear, it’s great supporting the local area! Would come again and would buy some more beers!

Went to the brewery tour on 4/8/18 with Bill who is an amazing tour guide. There wasn’t any questions that didn’t get answered. Enjoyed all the Beers too. Can’t wait to get back down there to sink a couple more. Cheers

This is a tap house looks like a tap house smells like one. it's a no airs and graces drinking den populated by the CAMRA crowd. Its nit for posers or pick ups ita a straight dinking place. Its not flash but they know beer and prices are reasonable. Comfort is at a premium and sophustication not it's style. But if you like just drinking beer then this is the place for you

The Beer tastes off. luckily they still serve Budweiser.

Very friendly service, have popped in a couple times in the afternoon with my little dog, only a few people there but was made very welcome and were chatting as a group in no time. The Napoleon Dynamite dude behind the bar is a super nice guy 👍🏻

At last a tap house that serves beer that will soon be brewed at the back of the premises but just whilst they get the brewery working they are brewed off-site but there are guest ales and lagers and everything else you would find in a regular bar. Jen the brewer has a great reputation for quality beers and each taste of one confirms that is true. She often comes out to speak to customers to tell them what is going on with the development of the place. Not only that but later another staff member asked if they could get me another drink and bring it to my table. In a pub! Prices very reasonable and cheap for this area, around £3.50. The bar is yet to be finished but a temporary one is in place. This place is big with a lot of floor space and can accommodate any number of people with little snugs if you want a quiet spot. The brewery can be seen at the back through the glass walls that separate it from the bar itself. Downstairs there are private areas that can be hired out and even a small cinema though they haven't decided what to show. Maybe Whisky Galore! Great positive addition to the real beer drinking scene and there is nothing remotely like it for many miles around. Worth a visit even if you are not especially into beer. All the time the place is improving though I'd like it to be a bit warmer. All the main bus routes stop about 50 yards away, which is about the same in metres. Cash point is around the corner at the little local Post Office.

Loved it! New Bournemouth pub and brewery run by locals :) who know their stuff.
