An excellent selection of meals, I had a potato and spinach curry with rice. Great service, meals cooked to order. Prices to suit the pocket. Also available is a great selection of sweet and savoury delight.

Nice place in Cardiff for Indian sweets & snacks. Their services are getting worse, especially their behaviour with Asian customers is not good. They should treat all customers fairly.

This place is a glaring example of blatant discrimination, particularly racial bias. The moment I walked in, it was painfully clear, individuals who were not people of color were being prioritised without question, while others were unfairly overlooked. This isn’t just a suspicion; it’s a deeply unsettling reality that many have likely experienced but remained silent about. Such injustice cannot be ignored. This is not just unfair, it is unacceptable, unethical, and must be confronted immediately. No one should be treated as less deserving simply because of their race. This issue demands urgent attention and action.

Very bad customer service, they have very bad welcoming atmosphere and rude behaviour. Shows attitude and service is very poor. Even the employers at the place are facing abuse from the manager when I walked in, overall creating an uninviting environment.

Truly wonderful place, great choice, very flavoursome savoury vegetarian food that is very different from what you'd get in an Indian restaurant. Staff very welcoming and helpful too. I've been telling my friends about it, and they all say it's already one of their favourites!

I usually come in with a friend. We sit inside and talk while having pink kashmiri tea with pistachio, piping hot. It's lovely. We usually order their lahori flavour samosas as well and watch the range of customers come and go. We nickname the place the wonky TV for fun. I've always liked the tea and samosas. Ordered a few boxes of sweets and they've been very nice. Not tried the chaat but looks very good. I don't understand people saying it's expensive because it's actually very reasonable. I used to go to the '...green' place across the road (which I have reviewed) but that's more than twice as expensive for smaller portions. I actually like the badly spelt words of some food inside pooja's. They are stuck in a time warp but over the years i have discovered places that are tend to be very good with food. I've always found the staff to deal with me nicely. It's a busy shop but the food is priced very reasonably and the food is good. The two of us get change back from £10 after pink teas and samosas. This place is a special find. Like it 👍🏼

Stopped in for savoury foods. Had a paneer curry with rice, and onion bhaji pakoras, my friend had vegetable biryani and medium spicy samosas. All delicious, and incredibly well priced. I haven't rated the atmosphere because we didn't sit down to eat, as it was full (which is a good sign!). When I go back and sit down, I'll rate the atmosphere then. Can't imagine I wouldn't give it five stars though!

Bought a box of mixed barfi/mitai costing just over £17.00. Went straight in the bin as it was ALL extremely dry and hard. Only chum, gulab jaman and jalebi are worth buying from here.

I need to address a serious issue. Every time I come into your shop, it seems like white customers are prioritized over others. This is the UK, where racism shouldn't exist. People here believe in justice and equality for all. I suggest you educate yourselves on the laws surrounding discrimination and treat every customer with the respect they deserve."

The quality of the sweets is not the best but prices are extremely high and unreasonable. Plus when buying certain sweets e.g Gulab Jamun and Rasgula he will add more sugar liquor to increase the weight, hence not an honest fellow sorry. Seems like he has already made his money and now towards a decline now! Honesty is the key in any business! Won't go there again!

Samosas were like 5 days old. Make an effort and serve your customers well

I went to have Indian food like chana bhatura and samosa chat but the food wasn't up to the mark. I thought it was money wasted. Staff was good but need to improve the quality of food.

Lurrrrve the quality of mitai here. The kaju katli is slightly on the thicker side however its not overly rich or sweet. Perfect piece. The soan papri with sliced almonds is just yum. Perfect texture and moist and crispy. Love it ❤️

Bought sweet twice in one week gap . They were hard like rock uneatable, and staff become rude when compliments verbally.

Don't buy sweets from here. They use vegetable oil instead of ghee. Horrible experience overall.

Recently, the service and food quality have deteriorated. I've noticed that whenever a lady is serving at the front, the savouries are not prepared correctly. Today, I ordered bhel puri, and it was filled mostly with onions and potatoes.

I am a regular customer of this shop had many more dishes like pakora, rasmalai, laddu,samosa before. Yesterday we had laddu, alu tiki, samosa and pakora. I would say waste of money coz it was not fresh at all . Pakora tasteless , samosa spicy and lacks salt 3rd more disappointing alu tikki the filing of potato omg what totally white potato never had that sort of alu tiki in my entire life . Very disappointing.

Lovely food, I had a spicy paneer curry meal and made sure to return the next morning to buy some savoury and sweet treats to take home with me. Lovely guys who work there, happy to give suggestions and let me try one of the sweet treats before buying it. I wish they had a shop in my town!

Food is good but you don’t need to rip people off for a few pounds. !! You know you do it so please stop !! It’s happened to me before a few times so stopped using you and starting using Nafees in City Road . But got to be honest your sweets are more prefered in my home !! So each time I think ok let’s go again Next time it happens to me I will embarrass you in front of your customers !!! Only indian sweet shop in Cardiff if im not wrong. Its very average. I tried the pani puri, mysore pak and kaju katli. Pani puri was just puri with green water. Mysore pak din taste like mysore pak. Kaju katli was good.

Excellent quality food, clean and Satvic place. Whenever I've placed an order, if the item is not available, they are so proactive in calling and offering a substitute or refund. Food is always fresh, nicely packed and hot. An excellent local business.

Sweet section is good but food was not up to the expectation. We ordered chat which had no real Indian taste and when ordered paneer, they served Tofu(although quantity was good but quality wasn't). Will not recommend unless you are starving for Indian food and you have no other option to eat.

Their jalebi is very tasty and also the masala chai was awesome. Highly recommended, they are selling completely vegetarian items.

Frequent lunch stop for tasty savouries. The samosas, paneer rolls and the freshly made aloo parathas are a staple order for us.

Worst experience ever!! Ordered on deliveroo waited for ages more than a hour then they cancelled the order, we have been waiting for so long and then got to know it's been cancelled by them.

Absolutely appalling behaviour. We paid 14£ for food that had gone off. No wonder they were piling it into the tupperware for us. They clearly wanted to get rid of it. This shouldn't be happening as we are paying for good food. We heated our food up and it went straight in the bin. Disgusting doing that to people. You guys should be ashamed. Happened to us let me point out, I thought I'd give you guys another chance and no I'm left infuriated.

If I could give no stars, I would. I ordered 40 boxes of Indian sweets to give to my party guests. On opening a box we found a long hair in a laddo. Then another box was opened and we fould a small black hair on the barfi. I couldn't give out the boxes for fear that my guests would find hairs in they,re boxes. I asked for a refund as I paid £240 but just had a rude owner talk me down saying sometimes you do find hairs in the sweets. How disgusting. I will never use POOJA SWEETS again.

Ordered 40 boxes of sweets for guests found hair in 2 boxes so far rest been given to family will be very embarrassing if they come back with same problem to Adele shop owner he refused to help or give refund will take matter further

The main owner is not always around. Thats when Customers are not welcomed by the staffs.

The Samosas, sweets and savouries are amazing. But….This time we sat in house and got the Pani/Dahi puri plates which were absolutely disappointing. Just plain puris given with minimal sides of dahi, some chutneys & potato filler. Disappointed with the chaat. Stick to the samosas and the takeaway stuff.

I had bad experience with their online service because I ordered online 1 kg kalakand ,it was very expensive ,it cost me £50 with the vat and tax including delivery fees but that taste of barfi and quality of sweets was very bad and I did not even receive full refund ,they charged £24 just for the delivery fee .i do not recommend Pooja sweets

Been here several time the samosa is good when they are hot but it can be cold and soggy. The owner of this shop is extremely dishonest. He either chuck in a bharji or some small items to charge you for it without asking you. He also charged me more than what I buy and when I ask him why it cost more that what it should be he said that's minimum charge for using a debit card, he should have said that so I can pay with cash but he didn't he just charge minimum charge for whatever you buy. There are better options in Cardiff

Don’t know about samosas and sweets, but never ever take curries and rice from here. It’s all old stock. I have taken curry and rice from here. Almost ate the rice but the pungent smell helped me not to. The curries were spoiled within hours.

The range of sweets and mixtures they offer is tremendous. There are dine-in options available but the place cannot accommodate more people. It's small but sweet. The samosa is mind blowing. You can have a mix of sweets for kg units. There is a chaat section which reminds you of the street food of india. The price of dine in and take away differs. The masala tea is fabulous.

Overall good experience. Delivery person went to different entrance even after mentioning it in notes and he was not ready to listen to what I was talking about the entrance and he said you first come down we’ll talk later which seemed a bit rude. But anyway, happy with the food :) so can ignore the issue once.Thank you.

Four times I've been in. 1st I bought some savouries, and they were OK so I thought I'd try it again. Next three times I've gone in, waited patiently, behind one other customer and each time someone else has come in behind me and got served straight away in front of me. If you want to be ignored, go here. Customer service, 0/10. Lost for words, except for "Never again".

We have been a regular customer for last 8 years and continue to do so for authentic South Asian sweets and mouth-watering cakes and snacks.

Our experience was amazing. We had travelled from Leeds. The food was fresh and authentic. It's the first time in a very long time that I had fresh chappaties. Do not leave Cardiff without trying this place.

Customer service is fine. Food is very cold for takeaways Chat and Curries are not tasty Dokla Taste is not similar to actual Dokla Not tasted sweets so not sure about them.

The driver was rude on phone he was like can you come to Road to pick up your food …. Can we please train the riders to be a bit polite rather than swearing to customers

Banana Chips and Bombay mixture is my favourites here. But sweets are little too expensive.

Love all the savory snacks. Excellent samosas, Paneer roll, Bhaji, Aloo tikki. Everything is great. Not tried any of the sweets yet though

We went into try the curry after recommendation from a family member, but was disappointed by the Chana Masala, which was mostly oil, a little sauce which was quite watery and very few chickpeas. We ended up adding a tin of chickpeas to bulk it out. However I enjoyed the Sag Aloo and the bread was very tasty.

The sweets are some of the best that you could try for a traditional taste. But I am very dissatisfied with both the quality and quantity of their curries, rice and portions. Overpriced and felt like a day old curry kept under hot holding longer until sold out.

What a great place. Excellent friendly & helpful staff too. If you'd like a change in your savoury and sweet it's a must. Well worth all the stars.
