Amazing food, will be going again

Fantastic! Very yummy food and delicious with great service and sanitariness with kind staff and nice atmosphere.

On a visit to Cardiff bay and was just passing when noticed the menu in the window and saw quite a few vegan choices - which we can’t get in our part of Cornwall - so decided to try the vegan chow mein and my partner had the vegan special rice. Wow, the food was delicious - the chow mein especially, with lots of seitan and vegetables, I was in food heaven! My partner’s rice was a bit too plain, so we swapped some of our meal and mixed it up and it was really good together. Back home now, but we will definitely be stopping here next time we’re visiting our daughter again. Yum!

I have always been a fan of Chan Noodles’ beef brisket noodles, and this time it was even more delicious with my favorite chili oil. The food on the menu is very good with added style. I still want to eat her roast duck, but unfortunately it is not available at the moment.

Please don’t eat here. Absolutely disgusting food and behaviour from the staff and delivery driver who threatened to come back with the boys, whatever that may mean. Over 100 minute wait on a delivery despite living 10 minutes away. Just awful. Food, when it arrived was terrible . Just please don’t bother.

First time down to Cardiff Bay, three of us were looking for somewhere to eat. The menu here looked good, with some very authentic dishes you don’t see too often which had us intrigued. We were not disappointed. We went for Szechuan beef, chow mein, a box meal of beef and black beans, chicken balls and egg fried rice, some meat dumplings and some fried rices, plus three drinks. At £45 it wasn’t necessarily cheap, but it was good value for the quality and flavour, and there was enough we took a whole person’s meal worth home. I liked the fuss-free decor, speed and friendliness of service, and the music was decent. Some reviewers here have commented on cutlery and cleanliness, but neither were a problem for us - clean tables, chopsticks, and metal western cutlery were all there. Will come again to try other dishes like the hotpots, meat soups, and many others.

We were walking around Cardiff bay nearing midday and noticed Chans. The words "noodle bar" undersold the menu, which on closer inspection had some interesting and spicy Chinese dishes typical of Sichuan and Hunan cuisine. There were many of my favourites on the menu including spicy and fragrant fish (S3), Mapo Tofu (S18) and red braised pork belly (S9) which could all have been contenders but today we ordered Spicy Beef Brisket (S17), Stir Fried Ho Fan with beef (S7) and Kung Pao Chicken (S15). The restaurant was clean and cutlery including chopsticks as well as serviettes were on each table. The food arrived in a reasonable time and the serving size was ample. The taste was authentic, tasty but not too sweet or salty. Perhaps a little less chilli than we are accustomed to but it has probably been toned down to cater for the local palate. It would have gone down well with a Chinese beer (which incidentally the manager told me will be available soon since they have just had their license approved). It was great food at a reasoable price (see the menu photos and photos of the dishes).

Cheap and cheerful option in Cardiff Bay. Food was good, the only down side was the barbecue pork was too chewy.

Once home I had been given wrong order. Returned shop shut. Emailed. They offered to replace but return order. I did this .. I swear they refried chicken wings someone else had returned. Avoid, expensive & food too bad to eat, even the dog refused

Spent the evening in Cardiff bay and was a little overwhelmed at all the eateries. We decided on chans and we were NOT disappointed the food is outstanding we had my very fussy daughter with us and even she cleared her plate! It was fresh and delicious. Lovely little seating area and it was a great price. Honestly couldn’t fault it. Great atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately even with the directions on the packets I still couldn’t work the chopsticks 🤣 please open a store in Shropshire we have discussed this meal more than a few times since we got home!

Apparently this restaurant has been here as a takeaway for a few years . They recently changed the menu to include more authentic Chinese food & their business has gone up. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The portions are massive. My goodness the food is amazing. My best friend is Chinese & I eat both at hers & out with her. The food was as good! Thank you so much , you made me very happy & I can’t wait to revisit.

Stopped in for a quick meal during a trip to Cardiff expecting the sort of food you get from a chain noodle bar (reliable but nothing special), but this was so much better. The place itself is clean and attractive, the service was good and the food was fantastic. We had noodle boxes to eat in, the portion size was very good and the prices reasonable. We will definitely return.

Authentic Chinese food I am surprised they serve pork trotters, in such high standards as well! Definitely worth a try I think if they renovate the shop a little bit, they can definitely pass as a middle high class restaurant simply by the food quality alone.

The vegan food was extraordinary! All the food in the photo was vegan.

Absolutely delicious. Had the duck with sweet and sour and fried rice. Barking dogs were very annoying. Dog owners are so selfish and ignorant. Shouldn't be allowed into the bar. Besides that would definitely call in again.

The service was fantastic! The counter was above and beyond helping us. It’s the worse noodle box I’ve had tho, same goes with the laksa (the soup was okay but noodle itself no) I certainly wouldnt order them again.

I was excited to try the food here after reading reviews but unfortunately the food not good. The noodles were too greasy and a bit over-cooked and some of the beef was just chewy - basically quite tasteless. I had some starters that were just average really and were kind of tasteless too. I left feeling sad that I’d paid quite a lot of money and really not enjoyed it. The tables were clean but the mats at the table needing wiping. Shame.

Overall, much fresher than most noodle bars. However, vegetarian / vegan options disappoint. The vegan ribs are now replaced with spring rolls and the vegan Cantonese - the soy protein feels like it’s frozen and deep fried. Completely hard and inedible, chopstix do a much better meat alternative.

The food was excellent, really. The red braised belly pork was perfect. The service was also good. The music was too loud and not to my taste but they’re catering to a younger crowd, I get that. But one star lost because of a couple of small concerns - a sticky table and awful cutlery (a mixture of wood and single use plastic, which is probably not even legal now). Wooden utensils are ok for take-away, but for eating in, they’re really not ideal. I’d eat here again but I’d probably take in my own cutlery and maybe a wipe for the table

Lovely food at a decent price:. It was a nice alternative to a regular sit down restaurant, and good to see lots of vegan options. I just wish there was non disposable cutlery to use when eating in, as it seems such a waste.

Visited here due to its 4.5 stars review. It's quite disappointing that the noodles tastes terrible, black bean sauce noodles tastes watery. I asked for tap water and they forgot my order, I have to let them know twice 🤦‍♀️

Originally from Hong Kong and whenever I feel homesick, I have Chans. Really delicious wonton noodle and beef noodle soup, tastes authentic. Their Wings, Ribs and Fried Rice are also stellar.

Excellent to have a quick and easy noodle option in the bay, convenient for Millennium Centre performances. Though no roast meats were available when I was there, the laksa was on point, with two mussels, other appropriate seafood, and only rice noodles—even the somewhat flabby pieces of pork skin were welcome as authentically present and correct. The front of house is a beleaguered youth, but the Uncles manning the woks know what’s what. Tidy in every way.

Superb authentic 'Asian' cuisine. Me and my mate had 3 dishes each and left best part of 1 each. Both had the beef noodle soup which was huge. I had the soup, dry ribs and house chow mein. He had the soup, sesame bread and another dish I can't remember!!😂. 2 each would have been enough. Beautifully flavoured and plenty of beef in the soup. Would definitely return. 5*.

Yummy food, great prices and service, friendly staff! The food was delicious and satisfying, in this photo there are two ABC meals: A for the base (we chose egg fried rice), B for veg spring rolls or chicken balls (we had one of each), and C for the side dish (we had chicken with mushroom, and mixed veg in oyster sauce). Nice place, would recommend :)

Myself and my partner have just stayed in Cardiff Bay for a few days. We had a takeaway with a friend of ours and loved your food so much, we ordered again the following night. Highly Recommended and will be back again :)

Beef brisket too oily, make me feeling bad

Food is is average, however, i feel it’s quite expensive for what you get. Also, recently I’ve noticed the portions are now a lot smaller than when they first opened, however, price has remained the same (I’ve always thought it was expensive here)

The first day we arrived in Cardiff, we had dinner take away from Chan's Noodles, the food was so good. We came back the next day to try more dishes on the menu, and it was delicious too. Well done guys!

These are probably the best noodles I've ever had from a noodle bar £9 is not cheap, but there was a load of them, easily enough for two meals, and the chicken was incredibly tasty. Would definitely go back.

Chans Noodle Bar is a great addition to Cardiff bay. Inside has great Air conditioning, comfortable seats and clean tables. You can see the kitchen from your seats as you wait for your food. Food came quickly to our table, portion sizes are larger than expected which was welcomed! The 123 noodle box and the stir fried ho fun with beef were both excellent.

amazing food! i ordered the chicken noodle soup as i had a bad throat and i was expecting it to be bland but was very pleasantly surprised! it was so flavourful and the portion size was massive i couldn’t finish it all. the person at the front desk who took our orderwas super nice, she was really helpful and attentive. overall i’m shocked i hadn’t been here before! will be returning very soon. p.s they were playing sabrina carpenter on loop so that’s a plus!

Best Chinese in Cardiff. Not artificial mass produced rubbish like some Chinese restaurants. The food is always outstanding from here, freshly cooked and delicious and really generous portion sizes. It isn't the cheapest place but it is worth every penny on the monthly treat night. Highly recommended.

Had the Brisket beef. Looked nothing like website photo. Served in a tupperware plastic box. Horrible fatty beef chunks. Sauce was very bland. Very tasteless. Rice was awful. I couldn't eat it. It looked a busy place but my experience was very poor.

There is no better takeaway in Cardiff/Cardiff Bay than Chans. Hands down. The service is always on point, super polite, speedy and professional. The food is always fresh, clean, never greasy and cooked with great care and attention. This place is insanely tasty and I won't hear anything bad said about these legends. 10 stars.

Ordered from the 1-2-3 noodle box menu for lunch. For £7.50 (had chicken in mine) you get an awful lot of food that tasted great. Not too oily and all well cooked. A good choice of cutlery (fork or chopsticks) to take away if needed. Will happily eat here again next time I'm in Cardiff

Preis okay, Essen sehr lecker und ganz frisch. Leider stand die Tür die ganze Zeit offen und es war sehr kalt im Restaurant, sodass wir unsere Jacken und Mützen tragen mussten. Ungemütlich! Die Toilette war ungepflegt.

Lovely noodle place, a welcome addition to local Cardiff Bay. I went here with a friend on his recommendation and it was great. We ate in. I had a 3 step tray meal, chicken curry, chicken balls and egg fried rice. Delicious and very good value for money. Really nice lady taking the orders who helped me navigate the menu since I was a first timer and made recommendations. Food came out quickly and it's a really chill vibe inside to eat in.

Ok, I loved the food!!! You can feel the love in every bite. In my opinion the best Chinese in Cardiff. The braised beef noodle soup, was so delicious, the meat was tender and there was a lot of it!! The Dumplings in chilli oil, the best I ever tried, wished the noodles had the chilli oil from the dumplings in… it added so much more flavour to it… (just saying 👀). My issue is that my order took 3 hours to get to me (it was 11pm when I got my food delivered. I ordered around 8pm).Which made me very frustrated and upset as I’m pregnant and the only thing I could eat the whole day was the food I was craving… which took 3HOURS TO ARRIVE. For that reason I’m giving this restaurant 3 stars. Service is as important as the food.

Delicious food and fast service. Clean tables and I love the ceiling. Excellent playlist too if you like BTS, but for a place called Chans it has a shocking lack of Stray Kids songs playing 😆

First time visiting here! First walking in your get this aesthetic ambience, ordered the noodle box and dumpling with hot chilli sauce. Probably the most nicest thing I have ever had. Didn't wait long for the food and staff were very polite and chatty. Good parking nearby and seating available inside and out!

Absolutely disgusted with the customer service. Except for 2 staff members. We came to stay in a holiday let and on our last night we spent nearly 50 quid on a delivery from Chans. We planned to eat and go out after to enjoy Cardiff bay on our last night. We ordered at 8 pm via the businesses OWN webpage and by 9.30 had no food but a text message to ring the restaurant. We phoned the number that had been text to us, only to find the number was for one of their other outlets. It picks up a little here as the Welsh lady that answered the phone was so amicable and helpful and did everything she could, she gave us the number for the right shop and said any other problems to ring her back. We phoned the correct shop and all I got was passed from one woman that couldn't understand to another woman that couldn't understand and after the 3rd time of saying we ordered over an hour and a half ago she yelled what was your door number!! After telling her she shouted it's on way and hung up. Gave them an additional 10 minutes to see if it would turn up. Ended up calling the nice Welsh lady back and she was about to call the other shop herself when the driver turned up. The driver was a very nice guy and I had a quick chat with him. Turns out they have opened up this shop but haven't staffed it very well. Only 1 driver on to deliver all the meals??? He said he had even told the owners that they are going to lose customers if they carry on like this, but, carry on like this they do! The food was passable. Some of the sauces such as the black bean sauce had more watery that your average bath and the batter on the chicken balls was no where near crispy. I come to Wales as much as I can as I love the place and this is the 1st time I have encountered such a shoddy and pathetic excuse for management or a business in Wales. The driver and the Welsh lady I spoke to would be an asset to any business. Just a shame that it cannot be said for the owners!

Visited today ordered black bean box with beef good portion size quite tasty.second order was chicken curry box.lacked flavour very little taste.third item ordered was wonton noodle soup,instead of pork dumplings requested tofu,the initial smell of the meal when lid removed was simply not right,only way I can describe it dish water smell..during our time there the restaurant was quiet one table left leaving ourselves and one other lady however we did notice that the two gentlemen in the kitchen and one lady at the desk were continuously looking and watching us which wasn’t very comfortable.at the end I simply thanked the lady and we left.truthfully disappointing as we had been planning to visit for a few weeks

I had a noodle box. Noodles, chicken, prawns, broccoli and mushrooms. £13.00, well worth the money for sure. Massive portion, tasty and fast service.
