Best Indian street food in Cardiff, there are better options in UK, but this is so far the best in Cardiff. The only issue is they sometime lack consistency and food quality changes with their Chef being on leave.

Probably the best Authentic Indian street food (sorry Fake Indians - esp Bangladeshi restaurants) Good quality street food- you can’t fault there Chole bature , pav bhaji and paneer butter masala. Keep up the taste and quality - I have been eating there for more than 5 years ( when they were known as Masala bag) Just one request- don’t compromise on the quality, taste or food.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The experience was an absolute disaster. For starters, there wasn’t a single attentive waiter to take our order. Sure, we get that it might be busy, but how long is too long? Half an hour? 45 minutes? At most, an hour? Instead, we waited TWO HOURS. And when the food finally arrived, it was a joke—just one starter came, and the main course was incomplete. On top of that, we waited an hour for tap water, which only came after we had to remind them they’d forgotten. What’s worse is that they couldn’t even handle three tables properly. We were already exhausted from a long day, and the staff’s indifference only made things worse. Not only was the service pathetic, but they didn’t even have the decency to apologize for their incompetence. It was an infuriating and completely unacceptable experience.

I ordered the lamb masala dosa and chicken masala dosa today. The dosas were absolutely soggy, and burnt as seen in the picture, and horrible in taste. Also, they were supposed to come with green chutney, tomato chutney, sambar, and coconut chutney. We only got sambar and coconut chutney!! The taste of the sambar was good, but couldn’t taste the dosas! I thought dosas were supposed to be crunchy. I ordered these as dinner but I had to cook as the dosas were not edible. Not recommended at all!

This is the best Indian food I have had in Cardiff. I have tried several but nothing comes close.. The ambience is average but food is out of this world. Reminds me of home

Absolutely the best Indian food we've had in a long time. Cardiff has finally got it right. Amazing staff, my boys were well taken care of. My husband and I even have enough food leftover for dinner tomorrow night. Yummy. Definitely recommend 5stars all the way ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and an extra star for the delicious mango smoothies ⭐

I had awesome experience at TY Masala. Very delicious food and amazing staff. Really had a great with family. Our kids also enjoyed the food there. Looking forward to go again in future. Neat and calm place for family dinner. Highly recommended to go and enjoy the food there.

I had an amazing dining experience at TY Masala! The food was exceptional, with the chilli chicken and biryani standing out as highlights. Both dishes were bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. I absolutely loved the food at this place! It's exactly what you crave when you're in the mood for some spiciness. Went with a whole gang, and let me tell you, we were all thoroughly satisfied and delighted. The food was not only delicious but delivered the perfect amount of kick that we were looking for. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I left feeling very satisfied. I will definitely be visiting again in the future. If you haven't had the chance to check out this place in Cardiff yet, please don't miss it! They have a great menu, and the prices are just right. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Food was really good. I would say the best Indian food in Cardiff. Proper authentic taste which is rare to find. Gave atmosphere a 3 star as we were the only customers at that time. This place must be a hidden gem. Highly recommend

This has fast become our go to Indian. The food really is exceptional, I reccomend trying the Delhi style Samosa Chaat and veg thali, but it's all been really good. So far we've only got takeaways, the actual restaurant maybe lacks a little something something... I guess I'm not a fan of plastic table covers. But overall this is a 5* delicacy sensation, try for yourself :)

First time here in TY masala. Staff is very welcoming. Food is amazing which I ever had in cardiff. Not expensive. Service is excellent. Me and my partner had saag paneer, chilli and coriander naan, peshawari naan, paneer balti. Ekata is very knowledgeable and helpful. Her smile made our day. One of very few restaurants serving proper north indian cuisine, as opposed to the masses of Bangladeshi restaurants in Cardiff serving Bangladeshi food rather than proper north indian food like you could expect in Mumbai or Punjab. Therefore the menu will be different to those who frequent Bangladeshi restaurants, but different in a good way. As such they have a great range of indian street food offerings as well as a great selection of curries. They have a good but not too extensive range of items on the menu, which is great as they can specialise in the items listed. Service was great and nothing was too much trouble, the place was clean and the food was not oily or ruined with food colouring as you see so often around Cardiff. The Pav Bhaji was a great choice, as was the paani puri shots and the chicken jalfrezi. The naan was also cooked well and went down great with the curry. We'll definitely be back to try the other items on the menu, and glad there is a proper indian restaurant in the city with reasonable prices. They have draught cobra available as well as a selection of spirits, cocktails and mocktails. They are a fairly new restaurant so we were the only diners there, but this is likely to change once word begins to spread

We went for dinner bit late after celebrating birthday, but the staff there, was so sweet special thanks to Dev, took the order and made us comfortable. The food was really fantastic. We ordered chili paneer , chili chicken, paneer sag, chicken biryani, fried rice a lot more I will each one dish has its own flavor and jaw dropping taste. Thoroughly enjoyed food and our time thank you guys We will visit back 5starrrrrre

We had recently been made aware of the Ty-Masala and ordered a Takeaway Curry on New Years Eve being local for us. It was very easy to order and the service was excellent. The meal did not disappoint. It was delicious and now looking forward to the next one. Hope our first experience continues and encourage everybody to follow.

Terrible service. They dont value their customers at all. Picking and choosing what items are on the menu based on how the feel towards the customer. This is unacceptable and i really hope they sort out their ordering system.

Worst experience of my life... called to book a table, asked if they do high chairs and he said what's that, that should have set the alarm bells ringing..... when we got there, the guy hardly spoke a word of English... ordered a thali.. he didn't understand what dishes I could combine, had to spell it out for him.... then after 5 mins.. he came back and said the thali doesn't include a butter chicken... then we made adjustments to our order...then he brought out poppadoms with no dips... I said where are the dips and I'm still waiting for the drinks.. he said "huh".. we honestly had enough at that stage and walked out... employ people that speak english for heavens sake.... BTW I'm Asian myself before you accuse me of being racist.

9/10 Overall Great food, friendly service, good value. Our waiter was great for making recommendations and was super friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food. Mango lassi 👌🏻 Garlic Naan👌🏻 Daal makhani👌🏻 Keema matter 👌🏻 Improvements: - interior could do with a redesign to look a bit more modern and clean - dishes were slow to arrive, but I’m not sure if this was because it was all made fresh

salt. so much salt. 2 stars is generous for this restaurant. i went here on wednesday night with my family as we had heard good things about this place, unfortunately they were wrong. our drinks took 15 minutes to come out when we had all ordered diet cokes and the professionalism of the waiters were terrible. we ordered our food, i got a masala dosa and requested for medium spice and my family got the chicken tikka masala, aloo bhindi and a prawn dish i can’t quite remember, alongside of course naan and rice. the daal(?) that came with the dosa was so salty i could barely eat it, to make matters worse i found a HAIR in my food. we complained to the waiter and he didn’t seem to care, giving me a new pot of dip. the chicken tikka was marinated in some salty rub to the point it was like eating spoonfuls of salt and it was spicy when it wasn’t meant to be? the only good thing was the naan as it was soft and fluffy. we shared out disappointment with the waiter but yet again, he didn’t seem to care. will not be returning.

Main complaint is that the food was extremely salty. It was also very spicy. They asked how hot we wanted it, mild, medium, or spicy, and we said medium. But it was definitely well past that. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and it was inedible. The sauce was alright but definitely not a tikka masala sauce in any way. The chicken pieces themselves were extremely salty. I could only eat half a piece and the rest of the dish, unfortunately went to waste. When we complained they said there wasn’t anything they could do about it. The masala dosa was alright to begin with. But there was raw chili powder sprinkled on the inside which was both confusing and made it very spicy. One of the sides that came with it had a hair in it!!!! The servers offered no apologies even, only changed the small bowl. Service was abysmal. I don’t have anything good to say about the servers. They didn’t look or act like they cared at all about the customers. The only good part of dinner was the butter naan. I mostly filled up on that because really, none of the other things we ordered were good. Either they simply didn’t taste good or was way too salty. Despite the inedible chicken tikka masala and hair in one of the dishes, we weren’t even offered an apology for them. If something like this were to happen anywhere else, the restaurant would have given something to compensate such as a free dessert or taking the dish off bill. Suffice to say we won’t be going back.

Food was delicious. The chicken biryani was good but very spicy. The chicken was really cooked well and good quantity. Channa Bhautra was really good. But what I was surprised that the same channa gravy was used for Aloo tiki chaat. Gobi Manchurian was good but could have been better. I would go back again ...no doubt

Best keema I ever had. Loved it!!

First time trying this place last night and it was delicious! We got a veggie Thali and a Vegan one. Also the veggie Somosa Chaat- that was so good! I've never seen that on other menus so had to try it. It will become a regular now. Restaurant friendly and checked for allergies after I ordered vegan which I was impressed with. Was 20% off collection so was a bargain for a Saturday night treat. Defo going to order from here again . Lots of stuff on menu I haven't seen before so can't wait to try!

I can honestly say out of all the Indian takeaways I've had this was the worse. The menu looks enticing and we drove past the restaurant a few weeks ago and looks lovely from the outside but the food was poor. This is not Indian food its processed cuisine thrown in a microwave. The chicken was not authentic it was processed, the poppadoms were not hand made, the sauces were without body and spice. The chips were like eating salted cardboard. The starters weren't upto much either. The sheek kebab you could tell again just bought in from a cash and carry. The only positive I have to say is that it was delivered on time. My advice if you want a proper Indian takeaway try somewhere else.

We ordered delivery for masala dosa, bombay aloo vada, channa bhatura. Everything was very salted. None of them had a good flavor. I have had these at many different places and I don't think the way they make it is the way it should be made.

We absolutely enjoyed this place with authentic Indian food in Cardiff. My Indian food and street food cravings were satisfied!. Tried the samosa chaat and Chana Bhatura. Definitely will be coming here again to try more items on their menu! The staff was courteous and friendly.

Stunning food, full authentic menu here with some hard to find items on! Definitely my favourite Indian restaurant in Cardiff and if you are after authentic Indian food this is the place to go! Be aware there is no card machine but cash machines are close by!

Had absolutely no idea where to grab food with my partner so gave masala bag a shot. We went for the non veg thali special and it was incredibly tasty. The lollypop chicken starter was absolutely delicious and was really well presented. The main was a mixed platter with 2 chicken thali curries and (I believe) a chickpea curry, with a potato side, basmati rice, naan and poppadom. I was absolutely stuffed leaving the place and I wasn't expecting a random walk in for some food to be such a nice treat. Front of house was lovely and really helpful with suggestions and explanations from the menu, and the food was great. Can't fault it. Thanks guys

The worst indian I've ever had. The mint sauce smelt and tasted like perfume. The nan bread was terrible. The Korma didnt even taste like korma. Lamb sag Balti was vile and I didnt even get my cans of coke on delivery and I paid £30. Absolutlely fuming!!

It's ok, because the food variety for vegetarian is very less and the food is relatively expensive infact its not much tasty as compared to price.

Have been a regular customer coming here weekly and service levels have dropped rapidly, had to ask for plates, cutlery and even dips with poppadoms. Ordered 2 main dishes and they came out very salty, staff said they will make fresh dishes and took our old ones and they came back with water in them and were still salty. Will never be going back!!

Some of their food is nice, but when a obvious mistake is made with a dish, its not accepted by the serving staff and no apology is given. Customer service skills need improving by their waiter.

The order was 2 hours late and no apology was given rather the staff was very rude !!!!!! (Like its actually oki to be 2 hours late as its a friday !!)Waited 2 hours and the food was not worth the wait. I never comment but in this case I had to.They are not at all consumer friendly.
