Ponti's Italian Kitchen - John Princes Street in City of London, Westminster

Found this lovely restaurant on Saturday last week and we decided to walk right in. We did not have a reservation, just looking for somewhere nice, accommodating and cosy to have a drink with my mum and friend. Indeed the from the moment we walked in we were welcome with a beautiful smile and the pleasant invite in. I mentioned we had no reservation booked and this was absolutely fine. We were seated and the host was amazing. I also believe her name is Malanie. Am not sure I spelt her name right. Customer services were top notch. She was kind and patience and pleasant all the way through. Will recommend and drop by again. Thank you for your wonderful services!

My mom stumbled upon this gem of an Italian restaurant, and I could not be more thankful she did. The food was amazing, especially the risotto. The staff was friendly, professional, and extremely helpful to our party. As long as this restaurant exists, it will always be on my must visit when I am in London.

The pasta was very good, perfect portion size for me. However we thought that the gnocchi could have been a larger portion as my friend was still hungry after. The water jugs should be bigger as one only has 2 glasses so we felt we kept asking for more. The staff were helpful and friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely and the perfect vibe for a quick lunch!

Went last night with my friends to this Italian restaurant pappardelle with fish and my friend Andrea's pasta with salmon was really good. asparagus Really good. Congratulations chef return again.

Accommodated 8 guests - excellent service - the pasta dishes excellent and the burger & fries was popular. Usually have breakfast here so good to try dinner.

We came to the restaurant for the first time tonight to celebrate a work colleague's birthday. The waiters were polite and helpful, atmosphere buzzy and food good however when one of our group asked for an extra slice of bread to go with their cheese board they were told it was impossible because “the kitchen are very stingy”. Quite unbelievable - the plate of cheese was generous but mainly inedible because of the lack accompanying biscuits or bread. We were told we’d have to pay for more bread. We’d spent over £200 at the restaurant already and yet they were going to charge us for extra bread. The manager came to supposedly apologise for the kitchens decision however was instead quite frankly just aggressive and implied he’d seen one of us in the restaurant before and knew our sort. This wasn’t true as it was our first visit but also totally irrelevant to our reasonable request for extra bread. It was the most amazing non apology ever and resulted in a very strange experience indeed. Needless to say we won’t be returning nor recommending the restaurant.

Fabulous food nice clean interior. Very welcoming first impression then it was disappointing due to the lady serving us who really could not have been less interested if she tried. She did not listen to our request of wanting our cocktails first & having pizza bread with our main course, she did not use eye contact or smile, her body language portrayed she did not want to be there. Then added £52 service charge which normally we would be open to pay as 8 of us however asked for it to be removed & left some cash hoping kitchen staff received as food was hot & very tasty. I’m hoping this was a one off but feel management used to highlight when people are tight with finances customer service is important.

What an absolutely Lovely Place!!..was looking for a great Italian Restaurant in Town..and found Pontis Italian Kitchen-Amazing Location and atmosphere,staff were super friendly and helpful and the Food was out of this World!Def worth a visit:)

Had a great experience here. The food was 10/10. They also have halal food. I have listed some of the food I recommend below: Parmigiana, pizza margarita, bruschetta pomodoro,ceser salad and they have some amazing pasta. This is one of the best italian restaurant i have been to.

I went on Saturday with my friend at Ponti We sat down in front of pizza Section and there was a guy called Elia and we noticed him that he was very addicted in the plates that he was decorating and when we tried the food that we ordered green pepper sauce file, it was very delicious we enjoyed so much! We are looking forward to come with a group of friends to enjoy the delicious food at Ponti😊

Wanted a drink and a light meal before the theatre started so walked in and was taken to a table as not busy. Unfortunately, they had ran out of prosecco so we ordered an alternative, only to be told they had also ran out Pinot Grigio - not ideal for a Friday evening. We ordered some food and was a little disappointed with portion sizes - Antipasti Misto came with only 1 tiny piece of bread. Food tasted ok and service was good. The restaurant was relaxed and nicely laid out but would not be in a hurry to return.

Nice location with reliable average food. Service is not always good. Sometimes quite rude actually. Food is typically served fast and what you might expect. They have wifi but you must give them your email address and the speed is horrendous (see photo).

Disappointing to say the least. They couldn't get the order right, only 1 of the 4 things ordered were what was actually asked for. Then the food was mediocre, don't waste your money, there are far better places nearby. Unless you like food made for tourists.

We went to Ponti's for dinner and found a nice place here in London. Friendly and well-kept restaurant, kind and attentive service. Quality food masterfully executed without any flaw. We will definitely return.

What a great little find. Super atmosphere and a superb menu. Staff friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic - our friend who is a burger expert said one of the best he’s had. No one was disappointed and we all had different dishes. Deserts and drinks a must. Good value for money. 4 people - 4 x dishes 4 x deserts drinks and coffee. £75 per couple with tip.

Excellent experience, we had dinner at a table near the pizzeria, with vegetables and products on display, all very special I ordered an appetizer and then a pizza with spicy salami and a pasta with mixed fish. We will definitely be back with friends, the food was fabulous and the waiters were professional

A great place for breakfast. They do an excellent homemade porridge if you are on a regime like me as well as the usual breakfasts!

Always my go-to place for a little break when I go for a bit of shopping around Oxford or Regent street. It's tucked away from the crowd, quite cosy for a rather big place and both drinks and food are good. Staff is very accommodating

The food was nice but overpriced. I was surprised that the mains did not come with any vegetables.

Restaurant was very lovely and the ambiance as well. However when we were sat at the table they did not pass us any drinks menus. We sat there a good 10-15 minutes until someone came over to ask our drinks order. We then had to flag that we would like to see the drinks menu. Then eventually ordered our drinks and some bread and olives. They rushed to remove the bread even tho we wanted to keep it. Not all of us were finished when in fact one of my friends was still eating when the server already pulled the plate away from her. Would just like to point out that service there needs a lot of work and they should be more friendly. Our waitress looked like she was tortured at the job. On top of that they expected us to pay nearly £20 service when really we barely received any.

Had a super meal out with a friend here. Food was lovely and although there wasn’t a lot for vegans nor any non alcoholic wines or ciders, they were sympathetic to my needs and provides an enjoyable vegan pizza, sicilian lemonade and a cappuccino with plant milk.

Overall an average experience. Food was average. Prices ok. Spoilt by a VERY loud person who had no spatial awareness or volume control. Also didn’t mind swearing around young families. We had to move tables. Later the same guy was then moved near to us, so we got the bill and left.

Whilst the salmon I had was delicious other members of our party had pasta and complained that it was too hard. Also the person who had pizza said it was very oily.

Just wanted to use the toilet, had to buy something to do that. 10€ spent on 2 drinks and they couldn't even give change. The toilet music was terrible and the service brought a negative energy.

Simply the best Italian we’ve ever had. We’ve come away so, so happy from Ponti’s. It’s authentic Italian from start to finish. We’ve been to many, many Italian restaurants but this trumps it. Literally can not wait to come again!!

Absolutely horrible experience with the customer service at this restaurant today. I was there with a big group of friends for lunch. Due to having to make a quick call at the end of our lunch and staying there a little longer, I was first constantly interrupted and made to feel like I need to leave (despite the restaurant being almost empty on a Friday). I went outside after the third interruption and at some point needed to use their toilets so went back inside to quickly do so. Upon returning upstairs to leave, I was told off for having used their toilets as “I am not a customer.” This despite having been a customer, just 25 minutes earlier. Horribly rude management. * In response to the owner's reply below *: Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your prompt response. With all due respect, your manager - if that is the case - was extremely rude to me - and completely ignored me when I mentioned I was a customer just a short time ago. There was zero politeness in their approach. Also, today was not a busy day at your restaurant. The restaurant was almost empty. Therefore a little observation of your actual customers would go a long way, I assure you. Moreover, I did not stay at your table in the corner for an “extended” period of time. If you call 20 minutes or less an extended period of time after a 2 hour meal, then I, quite frankly, don’t know what to say to you. My entire group of friends who had dined with me came to the table to arrange plans for meeting shortly after, in full view of your staff in front of the bar. Again, it would be great if you could take full responsibility for the complete lack of observation, manners and customer service from your manager in particular - but sadly, not surprising after this treatment, that this isn’t the case. I repeat: no one explained anything at all politely to me. Quite the opposite. Luckily I was still on the call when your manager was rude after using your toilet once, hence, evidence they were anything but polite. As an aside, this is the first negative review I’ve ever written so I suppose that is also a testament to how unpleasant this experience was today. All the best to your establishment!

The only thing that saved this place was the drinks. I ordered salmon with a creamy tomato sauce, there was a runny water type thing sloshed all over the plate no cream involved. I ate a few mouthfuls and was so paranoid I would get food poisoning I carried on sipping my drink instead. My full plate was taken without asking why I hadn't eaten. At the end of our meal they just continued to clean the restaurant and put their bags and jackets on waiting until exactly 10pm so we would leave!

Went with coworkers and we were all really satisfied. The pizzas was really good. A little bit of waiting time but an all around a good place. Had zucchini fries and there were cold but good. The carbonara was just average.

Beautiful restaurant however the lasagna lacked flavour, wouldn't say it's worth the money as didn't have much taste... Disappointed for the near £40 I spent for two.

It always seems like the less diners in the restaurant, the less service is available. Had to wave for a server when we wanted something despite the place being half empty mid-afternoon. When someone did come they were very polite and the food was good.

Very disappointed this visit to one of our favourites. Waiters and staff lovely as usual, but a couple of things were so disappointing. Firstly, the chicken milanese was so thin and cooked to a crisp! We should have sent it back but that would have...

When in London we always eat here at least once. This time we brought our best friends with us and as usual we had the most superb meal! It never disappoints. Super staff, brilliant service and of course outstanding food. Really excellent wines to compliment the food just rounded off the perfect evening! It's no wonder Ponti's remains our favourite Italian restaurant in London. You can't go wrong here!

Very nice restaurant.Good choice of food. Attentive staff. Only problem came when settling the bill. Menu said 12.5% added and said 10% went to the team, however waiter asked us if we wanted to give a tip. A conversation ensued but we didn't get any understanding of what was going on! Would have preferred to give my tip straight to the waiter.

Fantastic location and great food and drink, every time. Service is fantastic, orders taken efficiently, food arrives quickly and you can have a good laugh with them too. The place feels warm, welcoming, beautifully lit and the atmosphere is great. I've been a regular guest over the years and the place never disappoints.

Every time that I visit the West End I book a table at Pontis - I just love it - great food and great service. No hesitation in recommending them.

A very good “casual dining” experience…..good, authentic food, comfortable and stylish and exceptional service

Impeccable service and a great atmosphere. The menu and the delivery of the food is terrible. Chicken so dry and chewy it should be listed as jerky, (i'm sure it was reheated) the calzone dough was undercooked. Tasteless, underwhelming and a disappointment. I don't know whether running costs are affecting the overall delivery and lack of choices on the menu. Lots of potential but I couldn't recommend it to anyone who has a discerning taste for food. The price 17-19 fpr a main? Poor value and it pains me to write this because the service again, was excellent. I'd rather top off and eat a frozen pizza at home than dine here again.

Nous nous y sommes rendus le 7 janvier 2024. Le repas était très à peine mangeable. La pizza 4 fromage avait un goût unique, très peu de fromage et très dur. Le steak beaucoup beaucoup trop cuit. Une fois mais pas 2.

Great location , fantastic pizzas, starters and desserts a bit pricey. But good quality Good choice of wines. Our waiter was very attentive & worked well under pressure. Excellent choice for pre theatre meal at the Palladium. Will definitely visit again ,and recommend to friends. Regards Andy

Carbonara was overcooked - egg had separated and I counted only 5 small slivers of meat. Tiramisu was delicious Tuna average Calzone - very doughy with barely any filling so a mixed bag - and extremely expensive for the quality

Have been coming here for nearly 30 years in its various iterations. The last time was several years ago and the young waiter had to ask an older colleague what a "cafè coretto con grappa" was. So imagine my delight that it's made it on the menu.we had several small plates, a beer, bottled water and a carafe of wine. Service was exemplary and if you're looking for a good place close to Oxford St I'd recommend here as a good stop.

Quite overpriced for what it is. Small portions & not a whole lot of choice on the menu. Setting was nice but probably wouldn’t come again.

Nice restaurant but very little disorganised. Order a bottle of wine but charged for a different one. Good menu selection and wine list. Nice atmosphere and reasonably spacious. Toilets down stairs. Would recommend but check what is delivered against what is ordered and charged.

Staff very accommodating for our party. Pizza and breads all delicious and good sizes. Chicken Caesar also excellent. Pasta dishes on the small side but adequate and again very tasty.

In der Nähe vom Oxford Street, ganz ruhig gelegen in einer Seitengasse. Ambiente sehr schön und modern. Kellner waren sehr aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Essen war super lecker.

Pre theatre dining. Food was very good, service was quick and polite but thought menu was rather expensive for what it was. Good variety of courses to choose from. Despite being a little overpriced would recommend and would return.

Good value food and really close to Oxford Circus - fast service but didn’t feel rushed
