Ponti's Italian Kitchen - Fox Valley in Sheffield

Hosted my baby shower here and it was absolutely perfect. From the event space to the food and service, it was all so lovely and we all can’t wait to return!

1st time visitor. The exterior is very inviting - outside seating on both the ground floor and upper levels but was a bit too cold for that on the day we went. Warmly welcomed & seated. It's a place with very high celings, well decorated and with authentic features throughout. Very clean as well. Service from start to finish was very good - attentive but unrushed. Didn't go for starters - an Italian burger and a pasta dish for mains. Both were extremely tasty and well presented. I did feel the 'crispy pancetta' on my burger was a bit too crispy though - quite hard to bite into. Only my dining partner had a dessert - they were very much looking forward to the chocolate brownie but described it as quite underwhelming and not worth the price. Sounds petty as well but the plants on the table (which was a lovely touch) were bone dry - so much so that a lady on another table used her water to try and revive hers ! Toilets upstairs - very clean and some interesting nostalgic pictures on the wall going up the staircase. All in all, a very enjoyable visit in lovely surroundings and we will be back - but will probably avoid the dessert menu.

Visited today with family. We were all really impressed with our meal. The service was fantastic and all staff friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Ice cold glasses for alcohol free Peroni beer. Pizza served so quickly even the waitress was surprised. Delicious food and we will be back soon

The food at Ponti’s is always fresh and delicious. I’m vegetarian, and it’s nice to have several options on the main menu. The staff are very friendly, and it’s the perfect atmosphere for everyone; couples, families, friends, at any time of day. Highly recommended.

Absolutely impeccable service, lovely food and a charming atmosphere. We visited Fox Valley on a bleak, wet, and windy day; but Ponti's was a welcoming place to have lunch with the folks. A three-course dinner for four with drinks came to around £180.00 and we all felt we'd had our money's worth. Thank you to all the staff at Ponti's for making Mother's Day lunch a success. We'll see you again soon I'm sure.

This was our first time eating at ponti's Italian but definitely not the last , we went to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday , we were very impressed with our server charlotte she was polite and friendly and more than happy to take pictures for us, the atmosphere was great and the food was delicious especially the pork belly and the tortellini, the tiramisu dessert was amazing, i noticed some reviews said the food was pricey but for the quality we thought it was well worth it and we will most certainly go again.

Called in here for an impromptu meal - staff were so friendly our waitress Ellie smiled and looked after us - food was gorgeous I had pizza and my little one had a choice of menu which included home made lemonade garlic bread & pizza - they even bought me out a home made brownie with a candle for my birthday such a nice experience xx

Great place for events , I had my baby shower here upstairs in the small room. It was beautiful and so accommodating for orders and drinks and allergies. We've also had large family meals downstairs where they're accommodating for children too. I have on occasion when popped for lunch or booked with a couple of friends found services a little slower and staff can forget amendments and sides. But on the whole a lovely place to treat yourself too.

Great Italian food but not an Italian meal experience. An Italian meal is a 4 course (or more) leisurely experience. NOT a 3 course British Meal. But only 3 stars? Why - Staff were good but service model is flawed: 'Antipasto is the traditional first course of a formal Italian meal. Usually made of bite-size small portions and served on a platter from which everyone serves themselves, the purpose of antipasti is to stimulate the appetite' (Wikipedia) - It is not a 'Starter' At Ponti's the Antipasto Bruscetta portions are too large (order 1 for two people) Also they will serve it with your starter course - so if you have ordered 4 courses (like we did) you have to eat your appetiser then your starter straight away otherwise the hot starter goes cold. This means you are too full for your Secondi! Which came only 5 minutes after our starter (We could not eat all of ours) We raised this with the Manager who said this was the way they normally served. He offered us a complimentary desert. But our meal had been ruined. Top Tip - be explicit with the waiting staff that you want the meal as 4 courses with time between courses. Atmosphere - decor is nice, however accoustics are poor which means it is noisy, where we sat was like a corridor and with a private event in the 1st floor that means at least 60 people going passed your table. Would we go back? Probably but not straight away.

Lovely atmosphere on a sunny day sat outside.

The best Italian restaurant we have been to for atmosphere good service and fabulous food. Yes a bit pricey but if it’s that good we don’t mind. We are so lucky to have this authentic Italian restaurant in Fox Valley.

Went today for my early birthday meal... staff were fantastic, so polite and helpful. And food was outstanding! There was a small mix up with the order. But it was handled, and didn't take away from the 5 star service. Mistakes happen. We will continue to visit when ever we want the best belly pork I've ever eaten. Well done 👏

The 4 stars are for the staff that worked their socks off. The restaurant is a nice space. We went out for a birthday party, 14 of us. The ‘only’ vegan main was a risotto which wasn’t as it has cheese in it. The manager could only suggest taking the cheese out which wouldn’t have worked in a risotto. He didn’t suggest or was helpful in suggesting something else. Perhaps a pasta dish with garlic bread? My husbands prawn spaghetti had few prawns in it. I ended up with a pizza with no cheese ( I have an allergy) We thought it was expensive and nothing special whereas most of the other members of the party enjoyed there’s. Except for the other lady who like myself didn’t have a choice really. If you have allergies I think you’d have to be careful. The waitresses did try their best to explain the ingredients but it would have been nice if the chef had popped over to reassure.

I've been to Ponti's a number of times and always had an enjoyable experience. However we recently enjoyed the meal & show experience that has prompted this review. I've never been fussed about the idea of tribute nights. I always imagined they'd be a bit too cheesy to enjoy much less to make a long, dining experience out of it too. I was wrong. FOOD It was a 3 course meal with a glass of fizz on arrival. My wife and I enjoyed every single element of our courses. I enjoyed the meatball starter, salmon & basil mash main whilst my wife also enjoyed the Burrata Croquettes & Tortellini main. Everything served was fresh made (including the pasta) and the desserts were also excellent. DRINK Lovely cocktail menu done to a good standard. It was hard to choose one but we opted for the Whisky sour & Amaretto Sours. Very nice. SERVICE We arrived a little earlier and the staff were warm & attentive. The food arrived promptly & to a high standard which is a huge compliment to any team mass catering for an event. Special shout out to all the staff but especially Arg for being accommodating and friendly throughout, it made the experience feel intimate & personal. SHOW The upstairs room is an excellent function location. Good sized bar, classy décor and has a private balcony. The singer (Johnny Mack) was 10/10 in his singing ability but also his showmanship with the crowd. He created a brilliant atmosphere that got the whole room dancing and singing along. He was still going at 10:30pm when we left! Overall - a wonderful experience. So much so we've pre-emptively booked the Elvis Presley night in February 2024 but I'll definitely return to the Johnny Mack/George Michael one again. Thank you Arg, Jonny & the whole team for a top, top night 🙌🏽

Very bland tortelloni parmigiana in a watery sauce. The only thing with taste was the cheese on top. London prices in a small Sheffield suburb. Would not recommend!

Very good food, but the service lacked enthusiasm. The environment is a bit twee, but overall, is pleasant. Being situated in a shopping centre, there is ample parking.

Considering it was our first time discovering this restaurant and dining here, I have to say it will be our last time, also. For starters we ordered the Arancini Bolognese Risotto and the Meatballs to get us going. When the food came, which admittedly was quick timely, we were met with our first experience with the Manager. As usual she named the first dish so she knew where to place it, standard stuff. Well, we didn't quite hear her due to the music being awfully loud and my hearing isn't the best anyway. This apparently frustrated her for some reason so she very condescendingly stated "Rice" and put the food down to me. Now I'm far from a food expert or a chef, but I damn well know what an Arancini is and do no appreciate being talked down to simply because I couldn't hear what she said. On that topic though, the Arnacini itself was generally alright. Risotto wasn't the best but it was edible. The sauce, however, was so incredibly rich and over-seasoned you couldn't taste the Risotto anyway. Now the meatballs were the real issue. Gristle in the meat straight from the get go. My partner and I both don't like bad cuts of meat and I'm positive most people don't. The first bite she took had gristle in the meat. Not a good sign really considering the prices for food aren't exactly a direct reflection of the quality. Let's call it overpriced because that's exactly what it is. So the starter she had was left untouched so I gave her mine instead. There was a bit of a wait for the main course but nothing extreme. Longer than average all things considered there was about 3 customers there at the time. Out came what I can only describe as the biggest bath of oil and mush I've ever seen. We both ordered the Chicken Rosemarino which comes with obviously chicken, pesto, rosemary and mixed vegetables. What we got was the biggest 180⁰ turn around I've ever witnessed. The chicken was drier than a used boot. The pesto was dumped on top for no real reason other than making it look fancier I guess. Underneath was what I can only assume was the "mixed vegetables" because whatever that was intended to be missed the mark after it'd gone in the blender for a 2 year old on baby food. Absolutely shocking mush all topped off with a plate full of Balsamic Vinegar and just practically a full bottle of oil. It was soggy, mushy and quote frankly sickly to even look at. We didn't touch anymore than a few bites of dry chicken to realise it was poor. After this we had quite literally just had enough after the abysmal starter onto an even worse main. The only things we truly enjoyed were the diet cokes and the Arancini wasn't terrible to give them some credit. On a personal note, the place does kind of give off an atmosphere. I don't think the staff seem very happy and the Manager just seems to not really care in the slightest about the service given or the feedback. The only redeeming factor about this 45 minute slog was the server staff who were actually pleasant to talk to and did apologise for the food. Even though they shouldn't have to... Lastly the bill we got was docked down to reflect the poor food quality and rightly so. The one thing I didn't agree with was the mandatory 10% tip included in the price. It all seems very underhanded to charge that to customers unbeknownst to them. Overall, we will never return here. Not even for a drink. The prices are extortionate for what you get. Food is shocking. The Manager isn't that pleasant either.

Went with family for a meal . Young lady serving did an amazing job . Polite and friendly, nothing was to much for her . She worked extremely hard as there were 16 of us . Another member of staff spent most of the time we were there smoking on the balcony and chatting with his friends , and left her to do most of the work . Food was delicious , fresh and of great quality. Will definitely return , hopefully next time the young lady will actually have some help . It was the first time visiting Ponti’s Italian Kitchen, a small party of four to celebrate a birthday. I ask myself, what more do you want than great company, nice surroundings, where you can either eat in or out. Friendly staff, who were willing to provide a lovely service and delicious fun food? We shared the starters, then everyone chose a different main course, before sharing the dessert. Great parking, free and just a short distance from the premises. A great night and we will be back.

First time visiting this Italian restaurant. The service was excellent and so was the food and drink. Brilliant place to eat in Stocksbridge.

The food is AMAZING! Pizza was on point with cheese, very nice and crispy: there's fresh ice cold drinks, really yummy classic Italian food in general, this really shows Italian food in prime, taste and quality. Huge selection on the menu! Risottos, lots of pizzas, pastas and way more! Desserts too! The place has fair prices for food. On Average 10 pounds for a main dish, or 19 pounds for 3 courses, or 16 for 2. If your looking for a lovely lunch or drink at the bar, I recommend this place very highly to you, this place does live up to its reviews, its everything you'd want it to be! You can easily spends hundreds of pounds in here if your not careful, There's lots of drinks, like fizzy drinks (coke etc) classic Italian lemonade, juices, coffee and way more! The atmosphere is really nice, with brick walls, posh flooring, nice furniture, plants, and loads of nice details! It really gives the Italian vibe, it makes me want to go to Rome and just eat pizza all day. The service was shockingly quick, they made 2 courses in under 10-15 minutes! Drinks were bought almost immediately, staff were nice, friendly, helpful and talkative!

Been here a couple of times and both times have been good. Kids had sourdough pizza which looked well made and authentically Italian. Had burger this time which was well made though fries were slightly undercooked but still edible. Good service from the Italian waitress and the place itself is nicely done out. Look to have regular special night of including wine tasting etc.

I was there as a guest of a birthday party. Waitresses were lovely. Music I found a bit too loud. One Star knocked because the milk offered with the tea was out of date, but this was immediately fixed by the members of staff.

4 out of 3 family meals over the last 6 years have been disappointing. Pontis has a fantastic location and sets its prices quite high so it’s a special occasion restaurant but the meals and service that we have experienced don’t warrant this. For parties...

I called again at Ponti's last night with family and friends. Fantastic food, fantastic service and its really good value too. I have eaten in many. many restaurants around the country - this is one of the very best.

We had a lovely special meal at this Italian with family. With lots of free parking in walking distance and in the corner of the shopping centre. Staff are friendly and professional. Built to a high specification and with a relaxed environment it is the perfect place to have a quick lunch or a big family event. The menu is limited but has something for everyone. Limited for vegetarians possibly. Food is well presented and delicious! 2 options for beer but good selection apart from that. Amazing dessert menu and very nice fresh coffee. They automatically add 10% service charge but do check you are ok to keep it on the bill. Slightly expensive but worth it for the standard. Highly recommended.

Excellent service, food arrived quite quickly. A little overpriced, especially having to pay for a side order to get potatoes or veg with some of the meals. You have to study the menu closely to see exactly what you get with the main course. Still don't agree with the service charge automatically being added. I know you can have it removed but it feels awkward doing that.
