I had a great meal here with my wife. The prices are reasonable and the selection of gluten free items is excellent. They mark GF items on the regular menu and additionally have a dedicated GF menu. Even the chips are gluten free (they have a “clean” fryer) which is a nice treat. Our server, Jacob, was polite and enthusiastic. Great experience overall, we’ll definitely return.

We used Pontis for a baby shower over 20+, people and from start to finish this venue were unbelievable. The original day the shower was booked for had to be cancelled due to snow, however, Amy was incredibly kind, catering and flexible to our large booking and managed to re-arrange our day for only a few days later with a great understanding of why a few people now could not make it. The venue is beyond beautiful, and the food was incredible. We can’t thank Pontis enough for such a great night with great service. We would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you for making our night so special.

Despite deep snow the staff came in and delivered their usual excellent service and food.

Food was brilliant but the service was absolutely diabolical! Two ladies cared more at looking at there phones and it got to a point we didn’t want to order anything more as when we asked it looked like a chore. It completely spoilt our visit here.

We went here for a family get together for a birthday meal. The food was really nice and the service was great and really friendly. There weren't any deals on the menu in the evening when we went, but the food and service were worth the prices. I would recommend and go again. I won't mark them down but the only odd thing was we sat on a large table at the bottom of the stairs and we kept getting drips of water on us, but we're not sure why? We did inform the staff about it.

Got here in the evening of boxing day and were very happy they were open and had a table for us so we took a break from driving. Food was amazing, real Italian way of cooking. We were served by Jacob who was a pleasure to meet and who've done a great job.

We went for breakfast and they had limited gluten free options, the option they did have on the menu they didn't have in stock and I only found this out because I had to go and ask them because they never came back and confirmed. At this point they were ready to serve the rest of us. We decided to leave as we wanted to eat together not 3 of us then have 1 person sat hungry and waiting so we could go somewhere else so they could eat. I understand that not everywhere can cater for people with some allergies but when the items on the menu are not availible it would be best practice to let customers know as they order.

I booked for a party of around 70 for a surprise 60th birthday party. Booking it and getting it sorted was made very simple and stress free. The venue itself is gorgeous and did not disappoint- we could play our own music and could have brought extra decorations if we had wanted. The food was wonderful and plentiful. The bar staff were very polite and efficient. We couldn’t have asked for a better night. I would highly recommend for any special occasions.

I had a surprise 60th party arranged for me in the top function room. On arrival I was greeted by Sandra who was polite welcoming and attentive understood the food in depth and when I said grazie she gave the proper Italian response. I had a notion of what I wanted to eat but Sandra helped with meal selection and wine selection to complement the meal. The food was quick, absolutely delicious fresh and healthy. The staff were polite and efficient. The upstairs venue had superb decor was classy and spacious. There was this side room that was constantly replenished with food. The balcony has wonderful views of fox valley. It’s the best room I have ever been to for this large number of guests. Toilets are top notch Thank you Pontis for a wonderful evening in an amazing setting to see family and friends with the best food and drink

It is a real shame that my favourite pasta, the salmon tagliatelle, got taken off the menu recently. It would be fantastic to get this item back but the waiters requested it for me regardless which was very kind!

Nice restaurant decor wise, however the food and drink is massively overpriced and very very average. I honestly have no idea how there are so many 5 star reviews because there are many many better quality restaurants in Sheffield. I think they probably enjoy the benefits of a captive audience in the valley, particularly since Dransfield forced the far better McGilverays out of town. The staff are ok, and the restaurant is is very well done, but the food is pretty bog standard and expensive.

Nicole was an absolute gem, serving us a delicious although very allergen/ingredient restricted meal. We sat out in the sunshine and thoroughly enjoyed watching the world go by.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We celebrated our wedding here today with our three children, and it was perfect! The atmosphere was lovely, and the food was delicious. The service was friendly and welcoming. A special touch was the complimentary champagne, which made our day even more special. The tuna steak cooked medium was amazing—one of the best we’ve ever had. Thank you for making our day memorable! We’ll definitely be back.

A lucky find - cozy rustic atmosphere and fantastic service from Jacob! Stopped in for a glass of wine and stayed for dinner. There is a lovely patio with comfy chairs - it's a wonderfully relaxed dining experience! Highly recommend!

The menu offers a variety of delicious dishes, from classic pasta to flavorful seafood. Our server, Jacob, was exceptional, providing excellent service and knowledgeable recommendations.

We had a lovely family reunion for 30 people in the upstairs restaurant area. The setting was perfect and the staff did a brilliant job of serving everyone with all their different choices. The food all came out at the right time and was excellent. The area was big enough for the children to play and for all the guests to mingle and chat. We have been coming for five years now and every time the event has been a huge success. Thanks in particular to Amy for arranging it and Emma and the young man on the bar who were great. See you again next year!

Not very special food. Small menu. High service charge. Table was on the way of stuff. Crem brulé and risotto were disappointing. Mixed starter was too expensive for its content

We went to Ponti to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday from Making the booking to the end of the meal. I can’t fault the service form Emma and the team. The table was lovely, the food was tasty the service was great thank you to all the team🤩

Absolutely divine food, taste sensational. I had the beef & mushroom tagliatelle and my daughter had the margarita pizza. Our food was delayed so we was given a complementary drink on the house. The service from the staff was impressive and friendly and these guys know exactly how to run a restaurant and keep its customers happy. Blunders can happen to everyone, but this team know how to fix and satisfy. Look forward to coming again for my birthday treat. Well done. Review well deserved.

Top place to go pay for what you get excellent service

What a hidden gem, tucked away in Fox Valley, South Yorkshire near Stocksbridge. The setting is relaxed and informal, but nice enough to dress up for a date night, the food and drinks were all authentic, house made and cooked perfectly. Our waitress for the evening Sandra Prince (big shout here for Sandra!) was incredible, and a delight for the entire time she was attentive and nothing was too much to ask, we had three courses and rounded it all off with some amazing limoncello, first time visit here and won't be the last for sure, we will also be adding a review on our YouTube channel (check our profile for the link)

Went with dad for lunch. Great place with great staff and excellent food. Had calzone for the first time since I was a kid... and it was delicious. Dad had lasagne and loved it. Table next to us had the antipasto for 2 which looked stunning. Staff were lovely - table staff were happy and light hearted, floor manager was something special.

For my son's birthday we went to Ponti's for cocktails - specifically our favourite limoncello martinis, which they do so well. We were served by Phebe who made the whole experience extra special with her kind and attentive service. Thank you.

Stunning Italian food with a summer party vibe. This restaurant truly makes you feel you are in downtown Bardalino. The food is simply stunning and oh so Italian, with its fresh and quality ingredients taking full stage. Lily served us tonight and she was fab, so nice and attentive to service. This place is consistent and has a brilliant atmosphere.

The steak was excellent, highly recommend the Aberdeen Angus to anyone who is a steak lover. Phebe was excellent as our server. Highly recommended A+

food was mid for the expensive price table was unclean found a long hair in my lasagna and the manager had an awful attitude about it would not reccomend to anyone 0/10 waste of time waste of money

food tasted like it had just been collected from the recycling bin and put in the microwave for 5 minutes, all of what seem to be the ‘higher’ staff and dare i say mostly the males are extremely rude, if it’s wasn’t for the nice waitresses i’d have probably burnt the place down on my way out, wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

1st time visitor. The exterior is very inviting - outside seating on both the ground floor and upper levels but was a bit too cold for that on the day we went. Warmly welcomed & seated. It's a place with very high celings, well decorated and with authentic features throughout. Very clean as well. Service from start to finish was very good - attentive but unrushed. Didn't go for starters - an Italian burger and a pasta dish for mains. Both were extremely tasty and well presented. I did feel the 'crispy pancetta' on my burger was a bit too crispy though - quite hard to bite into. Only my dining partner had a dessert - they were very much looking forward to the chocolate brownie but described it as quite underwhelming and not worth the price. Sounds petty as well but the plants on the table (which was a lovely touch) were bone dry - so much so that a lady on another table used her water to try and revive hers ! Toilets upstairs - very clean and some interesting nostalgic pictures on the wall going up the staircase. All in all, a very enjoyable visit in lovely surroundings and we will be back - but will probably avoid the dessert menu.

Head waitress took our order, and gave us larger drinks than we asked for, made no effort to make this good and still charged 10% service fee.

The food at Ponti’s is always fresh and delicious. I’m vegetarian, and it’s nice to have several options on the main menu. The staff are very friendly, and it’s the perfect atmosphere for everyone; couples, families, friends, at any time of day. Highly recommended.

Absolutely impeccable service, lovely food and a charming atmosphere. We visited Fox Valley on a bleak, wet, and windy day; but Ponti's was a welcoming place to have lunch with the folks. A three-course dinner for four with drinks came to around £180.00 and we all felt we'd had our money's worth. Thank you to all the staff at Ponti's for making Mother's Day lunch a success. We'll see you again soon I'm sure.

This was our first time eating at ponti's Italian but definitely not the last , we went to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday , we were very impressed with our server charlotte she was polite and friendly and more than happy to take pictures for us, the atmosphere was great and the food was delicious especially the pork belly and the tortellini, the tiramisu dessert was amazing, i noticed some reviews said the food was pricey but for the quality we thought it was well worth it and we will most certainly go again.

Called in here for an impromptu meal - staff were so friendly our waitress Ellie smiled and looked after us - food was gorgeous I had pizza and my little one had a choice of menu which included home made lemonade garlic bread & pizza - they even bought me out a home made brownie with a candle for my birthday such a nice experience xx

Great place for events , I had my baby shower here upstairs in the small room. It was beautiful and so accommodating for orders and drinks and allergies. We've also had large family meals downstairs where they're accommodating for children too. I have on occasion when popped for lunch or booked with a couple of friends found services a little slower and staff can forget amendments and sides. But on the whole a lovely place to treat yourself too.

Why - Staff were good but service model is flawed: 'Antipasto is the traditional first course of a formal Italian meal. Usually made of bite-size small portions and served on a platter from which everyone serves themselves, the purpose of antipasti is to stimulate the appetite' (Wikipedia) - It is not a 'Starter' At Ponti's the Antipasto Bruscetta portions are too large (order 1 for two people) Also they will serve it with your starter course - so if you have ordered 4 courses (like we did) you have to eat your appetiser then your starter straight away otherwise the hot starter goes cold. This means you are too full for your Secondi! Which came only 5 minutes after our starter (We could not eat all of ours) We raised this with the Manager who said this was the way they normally served. He offered us a complimentary desert. But our meal had been ruined. Top Tip - be explicit with the waiting staff that you want the meal as 4 courses with time between courses. Atmosphere - decor is nice, however accoustics are poor which means it is noisy, where we sat was like a corridor and with a private event in the 1st floor that means at least 60 people going passed your table. Would we go back? Probably but not straight away.

The best Italian restaurant we have been to for atmosphere good service and fabulous food. Yes a bit pricey but if it’s that good we don’t mind. We are so lucky to have this authentic Italian restaurant in Fox Valley.
