Food was fine but the guy that served us was a piece of work.

The guy serving me was extremely intimidating and aggressive, I felt genuinely uncomfortable being there and in hindsight wish I’d just left after the drink and not put anymore money into the business. Noodles were tasty but the portion was depressingly small for the price, same with the spring rolls.

Lunch stop for a cheeky beer (Asahi - on tap), wife drinking cocktails. Decided to eat in as it was mid afternoon, food was excellent and well presented. Local staff had a great sense of humour and made the experience unique. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely shocking service - kitchen completely messed up our orders, served our meals to another table and then proceeded to shout in our faces about it. Avoid at all costs, unless you want verbal abuse. The food they did deliver (that we didn't order) was definitely not worth the stress.

We had a number of issues with our visit on a busy Saturday night. Whilst I understand this is one of the busiest evenings for a restaurant, we initially had issues placing our order; one server told us to order at the bar as they were very busy, but when we actually got to the bar, we were told to wait at our table as it was table service. When we actually got to placing our order, the waiter said the kitchen didn't understand one of the dishes on our order (Char Siu with Rice) even though it's pretty clearly on the menu. Upon pointing at it on the menu, they finally managed to take the order. The manager later came over to say that it was his first day. Additionally, we were told that they required payment prior to our order to be served, as we were sat outside. If they hadn't, I'd think we would have given up with the order, paid for the drinks and starters, and eaten elsewhere. Our starters were fine, but from there it took over an hour to get three, incorrect meals out of the six we ordered. I think the most disappointing part of the evening was the attitude of the manager, who was combative right off the bat, and asked one of my party to be quiet. They also accused us of causing them to be confused, as we'd ordered a couple of sides for friends who were sitting at the table next to us (and paid for them on our bill). This made zero sense to us as the items that we'd ordered were correct on the receipts. He also accused them of eating the food we ordered (we checked, they hadn't). In the end, we got a refund for three meals (but not the service charge), but no real apology.

This was a horrendous experience where the staff conspired to blame the customers for their own inability to understand simple restaurant orders and it took 1h45m to come up with half the mains. Simply unacceptable but the attitude of the staff was honestly awful. Blaming the customer and their new service staff explains all you need to know for how they run their business. When trying to raise a reasonable complaint about the situation (half the food had not arrived, the half that did arrive was completely wrong), I was told to be quiet and hush as they needed to proactively defend themselves. Absolutely awful, ruined an excellent weekend in Liverpool.

It was are first time to Pomela , we went for my birthday meal. The food was excellent and plenty we couldn’t eat it all, I enjoyed that much we took a doggie bag home with us . The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and made feel very welcome, we will definitely be going back again soon .

Great cocktails too tasty too stay sober. And the food is delicious too.

Came here with my partner to eat before enjoying a night out in the Baltic Triangle. Both our dishes were utterly tasteless. My partner always enjoys a Chow Mein and left half of her dish due to being bland and gooey in texture. Please avoid, unless you like Thai crackers, as these were the only item of food that actually tasted of anything!!! Very poor indeed

Came here for my birthday meal and it didn’t disappoint it was really busy and we did wait a bit for food but it was lovely. We had vegetable spring rolls as a starter and Katsu chicken both lovely and very reasonably priced. We would visit again but try something different

Started off brilliant, the bao bun was incredible ! We couldn’t believe how good it was perfect starte. We ordered two spicy chicken udon noodles and only one came out and we had to wait for the next one to be prepared because it had been missed off and they weren’t spicy but the food and service was still good and the smell that filled the air was too good

My partner and I visited last night and had such an amazing time we came back today! Food was delicious (salt&pepper fries are out of this world), cocktails hit the spot and the service was super attentive and warm. Will be back for sure

Staff are friendly and helpful, clean and tidy place. An easy menu selection and good tasting food.

Couldn't fault Pomelo , we were going to the Baltic village opposite to eat, but the queue was enormous so we thought we'd go in here just for a drink , but the smell of the food made us order a fantastic meal served quickly , by lovely staff who made time to ask us where we were from etc , would recommend here, you won't be disappointed.

Couldn't recommend this place enough! The food was absolutely amazing, served quickly and the staff were friendly from start to finish. Will definitely be coming back for the Salt + pepper chicken curry!

Loved my visit here, warm, friendly staff. Mojitis were delicious, food very tasty and plentiful.

Would highly recommend a visit to Pomelo. The staff were all welcoming and the food is delicious and authentic! If you’re a fan of seafood, I would recommend you try the Panko breaded prawns and the Seafood Udon. We will definitely visit again. Also fantastic atmosphere inside the restaurant with air con which was a treat from the heat!! Thank you Pomelo for a fabulous evening!
