I purchased 2 lemon loaf cakes for my sister. These were displayed on the counter top in a bag. On speaking to her the next day I was told that they were extremely dry, stale! The next time I visited I mentioned this to the staff who were totally disinterested and informed me that the cakes had been discounted as they were the last 2 and had been on show behind the glass counter for 4 or 5 days! At no point was I told that the they were not fresh. Is this their normal practice to sell on the stale food at discounted prices to unsuspecting customers?

Highly recommend Poma. The food is delicious and the staff are always polite and helpful. My daughter is Gluten Free and we’re often served by Olivia when we come in for ice cream. Olivia is always extremely polite and helpful with explaining which ice cream/desserts are available as GF.

An amazing cafe with the best ice cream for miles. I have lived in Beverley all my adult life and wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. The coffee, scones and ice cream are absolutely delicious. There is a vast choice of ice cream, sweet treats, lunch options and drinks at reasonable prices . The atmosphere is always pleasant with hard working, polite and friendly staff. If you are visiting Beverley it’s a must ,you won’t be disappointed.

Went for breakfast on a quiet morning and was served a mouldy sandwich...which was only discovered half way through eating. We raised this with the waitress who inspected the sandwich and gave a quick apology. A replacement or refund was offered, which we got for the sandwich as we wouldn't want to eat it again, but there was no reassurance of kitchen policies, a full apology from a manager, no offer of a full refund or gesture of goodwill for what had happened. We may go for ice-cream but I don't think I'll ever eat any food there again as I wouldn't trust the food preparation or storage. Hopefully they have improved their food safety and hygiene as well as customer service. Such a shame.

Ice cream great - service so so I went for an ice cream with my daughter and wasn’t too pleased with the service I must say. The ice cream was delicious and because of that I’d return. Was served by a young blonde girl who wasn’t very talkative. I expressed my concern about my daughter’s severe nut allergy but didn’t feel like she was listening. I didn’t get a response or whatsoever. It felt like I was talking to someone being programmed doing their job.
