Pollocks in Bath and North East Somerset

Not the most appealing of places, but serves generous portions of fish and chips. The mushy peas and chips are great, however, the fish is very average. Not the best batter, although it's edible. I wouldn't class it as a treat, but more of a bite to eat if you're lazy to cook. The prices are very reasonable though, so it kinda makes up for it.

Had a problem with delivery address, rang the store to update and was laughed at and told they couldnt contact their driver, offered zero help. Terrible customer service!

I spoke to a very nice lady called Meg, she was very helpful when I tried to order online, as my order wasn't going through.

Amazing chips, they are lovely and crispy, not soggy like so many places. Highly recommend. I've had chips on 3 different occasions and each time they were delicious, highly recommend.

Perfect for gluten-free! My partner is coeliac and this is probably the only place is Bath that always have gluten-free. They've also confirmed that all the chips are cooked in a separate frier so no chance of cross-contamination. Quick service at the window and always good sized portions

Place has some of the nicest fish and chips I've had in a long time, cheap for bath too. Service was extremely lovely aswell which was the icing on the cake.

Will never use this skanky place again. Upon delivery the driver sends a message saying "I've left your food on the bench" funny how we don't own a bench! Didn't bother knocking the door or anything.. We then obviously phoned for an explanation and they effectively said we got the order.. They then proceeded to end the call and not answer again. Top fish and chips. These days only a takeaway service but if you arrive at the same time as a few delivery couriers you could be in for a long wait.

Chips are crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. Tasty fish. Good portion sizes. Real vinegar. Good old fashioned place, none of that fancy upmarket style. This fish and chips shop is legit.

Had to wait 40 mins to order and collect food. Outside in the cold as they only took care of online orders.

Ordered via Deliveroo and turned up on time, that’s where the good bits end. I think they had a different cook on as what we ordered had been sitting there a long time, the large cod was far from Two small bits put in a box , the chips were overcooked and old been I think sitting there a while nothing was fresh at all. In fact the only thing they didn’t ruin came in a can Let’s just say Disappointed!!

Lovely haddock and chips, freshly cooked and at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly but, best of all, the chips were both chunky and crispy outside with soft, fluffy interiors. I wish all fish & chip shops could be like this. Oh, and it is attached to a pub, so you can eat in the pub and enjoy an ale. On Friday they do a meal & pint deal. What's not to like?

No point order in advance as they still make you wait + 40 mins for your order on the side of a busy road.

Ordered food for 6 pm and didn’t get it until 6.30! Priority given to Deliveroo orders which is totally unfair when I’d ordered. Won’t be going there again

Had a large cod ... mince meat pie and chips plus tub curry sauce ... cod and pie were almost cold :( chips and sauce plenty of heat ..cant recommend due to how cold food main food was ... plus only live less than 5 min from place so no excuse ..not a good meal :(

Eat the chips here very time I go to the pub, delicious! Not greases but crispy and firm on the outside and fluffy in the middle, would 100% recommended. Staff always helpful.

Chips were fine but ordered Large Cod and got 2 thin pieces of fish which were overcooked and there was way too much batter for the fish. Was expecting one nice piece of fish. We wont be ordering from them again and think the wording on the menu is misleading. When I called to ask if there had ben an error, the person I spoke to implied we were somehow lucky to get what we did. You can see how thin the fish is from the photo - around 1 centimeter including batter.

Just had fish and chip, speed good chips and Batter hot. But I am Afraid that it was hunt the fish, what fish there was thin dry overcooked. Not a good takeaway this time.

Apparently two small, thin overcooked pieces of cod, really oversized fish fingers which were mostly batter anyway, constitutes "large cod" at £6.50. Save your money and go to Bath Fish & Chips or Cod Down.

Just had food delivered from Pollock's and the quality was superb. Curry sauce to die for, chips were crisp not greasy, fish was beautiful with light crispy batter. I'll definitely order from here again.

Really good fish and chips. Just a shame it's in the middle of nowhere with no parking. Apart from that chips were crispy and the fish was well cooked.

i ordered from pollocks a few weaks ago the fish was rubbery and hard at the ends chips were like concrete food left a horrible aftertaste you could tell they hadn't changed the oil in a while just ordered again tonight to give them the benefit of a dought we will see if its an ongoing issue but what i will say is food was fast and in abundance and hot price is decent service was excellent food a bit lacking dogs loved it though i hope tonight's food is alot better i will change my rating if it is

Had high hopes after reading all the reviews but was left disappointed. The fish is fairly small and very thin and the chips were overcooked and hard, had to leave alot of small hard bits. My search for good local fish n chips continues.

Keep in mind I am an American, but as a person that often makes my own fish and chips these were some great high quality fish and chips. The staff was really friendly and the wait time for my order was really short.

Cod & chips, fried kalamari were good and plentiful.

I've never been but have had it delivered to my house a few times and the chips were the best I'd have had in a long time and the fish was uber tasty too.

Lovely fish and chips, with gluten free batter available every day. Not greasy. Good chips with (my favourite) little crunchy bits. Friendly service. I always phone ahead to order as gluten free takes about 20min. #glutenfree

Came in here on a Thursday night with my wife for food. Well what can i say the food was excellent the service was excellent definately be coming back again. This was my wife's first ever visit to the pub and yourselfs impressed her well done and thankyou see you again

The fish and chips here are not greasy and fresh and delicious! Also try the British-style kidney patties. The ingredients are fresh and the crust is loose, which can be compared with Hong Kong-style egg tarts. Fresh cod fish and cheap. The taste is good but not oily. The yummy kidney pie is fresh and crisp topping, as good as the egg tart in Homg Kong!

Delicious, I was expecting chopped up fish and chips but they gave us this whole fish and I was taken away.. the batter was a light texture batter.. the cod was a moist not fishy tasting meal worth your time. Definitely a bang for you buck.. hope your hungry... I don't get full easily but this filled me .

Frozen fish, frozen scampi and a 3 times mix of different frozen potatoes (roast, wedges and chips) for a portion of chips. Now unwell from what I can only presume is that food. Not happy, will not return.

The worst chips, well can't really call them that, I've ever had. It's like they have been deep fried enough times so that there is no potato left in them or they have battered them then fried them 6 times . I'm not sure what they do to them but we have just thrown everything we bought in the bin. Absolutely horrible will never go back

Food wasn't hot on receiving, barely warm, the batter on the fish was as flat as could possibly be! Chips very chuncky and dry! Customer Service was awful, with the process of trying to have your salt and vinegar as you like it, this seemed impossible and such an inconvenience for them. Wasn't even given the opportunity to put it on myself. The whole meal lacked flavour and did not satisfy! Not a place I would ever reccomend, had much better service, fish and chips elsewhere for cheaper!!! Awful experience.
