It's the only chippy in Polesworth, but it a good one.

Brief review - Chips - soggy mushy mess, yuk Pizza - bland and tasteless, yuk Hygiene - not for the chap behind the counter! He "messed" with his nose then proceeded to touch raw food items. He used his bare hands to moved uncooked prepared pizzas after doing other tasks within the shop no sign of his hands being washed at any point. Unacceptable Prices - higher than most places I have used in various areas across the country. Exaggerated by the poor quality of product being sold. Queueing - not if you obviously know people behind the counter, you just nip to the back door and get served in front of everyone. Tax payers - (this is not an accusation merely an observation) maybe tax dodging as the note on the counter requests "cash as a preferred method of payment" I certainly would never use this business again.

Absolutely amazing chips. The best I've had in years. This will be our new regular chippy from now on. Worth travelling from Tamworth. Being vegetarian can't comment on fish/meat dishes. I will be recommending to my friends and neighbours.

Nice to try some different chip shops locally, Polesworth is a gem. Wonderful food well cooked and the family loved it.

Server was pleasant but food wasn't great. Pre-ordered and it was pretty much ready for collection. Food was only warm and chips texture suggested they were old and kept warm. Overall, quite disappointed especially as it cost over £45 to feed two adults, two 7 year olds and a five year old 🤷‍♂️

Recently moved to the area, this plaice is my local chippy, and after a few visits, I can honestly say the food is great the service is spot on and the prices are fair.

Do not use very often, but when we do, never let down. Greatmenu, good variety! The only thing I would say but down to personal choice, would rather when you order mixed kebab meet in a tray with salad, the salad actually comes in the container with the meal than wrapped separately... but that's just me.

This Chippy was recommended to me by a local person, popped in for Chip and wasn’t disappointed, crispy and well fried, I would recommend if you like your chips 🍟.

I do like Polesworth chippy, great food! Knocked 1 star off because it is categorically the most expensive chippy I've been to aside from coastal areas. It's the only option in Polesworth, they hold the monopoly.

Awful food microwaved my chips with curry sauce £7 for saveloy and chips waiting for chips to be cooked and still not fully cooked extortionate prices and poor quality food

Thought it was expensive. £6.10 for child's fish and chips and £5 for large portion of chips which wasn't that large. Had to wait a while too.

Excellent chippy. Great choice of fish and haddock was cooked fresh with a really light batter. The best I’ve had in a very long time. Husband said his chicken kebab was amazing as well 😊 We’re on holiday or we would be back all the time 😊

Fish and chips ok but I won't be having pizza there again I counted 6 slices of pepperoni the rest was just like cheese on toast absolute rubbish

Cold chips and donor meat. Very cold fish and chips. Microwaved curry sauce may have been the only half decent bit! Overall a very bad experience. Should have known as staff didn’t know what they were doing all had fake nails and jewellery on. Any one in catering should know that is a big no no!

The food is amazing here and the staff are so nice and friendly.Would highly recommend this place. I go here all the time and it’s just so welcoming with good prices too.

Absoultyl horrendous got cold kabab meat over charged and jus an overall poor experience. Only person with manors and capability was the young girl in there.

The chip shop is in a great local area and the food is delicious. When collecting it is fast and easy. Would highly recommend.

I've used many take aways over the years from the UK to Indonesia but never before have I ever been charged for a little side salad on a kebab. Bit of a p**s take to be honest and using the fact that they are the only chippy in a small village to charge outrageous prices for a sub-par lever of not only service but for quality as well.

Quality of the food is average yet over priced and portions are poor, they also go my order wrong so I would not recommend.

Had fish cake, cod bites and curry sauce. Stayed hot for when I got home and was delicious

Have been a regular customer since we moved to this horrid area. Went in today and waited around ten minutes whilst the miserable staff dawdled to serve the queue. When it got to my turn, the more miserable of the ladies serving chose to serve the people behind me. When I stated that I was first I was totally ignored. Place needs a restaff and some manners. Me nor my family will ever spend our money here again.

Went here last week for fish and chips. I asked for a large fish as there weren't any ready so he said he would cook me a fresh one. As I was waiting I was looking at the prices. £2 .40 for a large curry sauce!!!!!! £2.40 for a medium chips!!!!!!!! £5.60 for a large fish. That's about par I thought for a large fish. However, when it was cooked the lady hid it from me. I caught a glimpse and it looked small so I asked if it was a large to which she replies yes. She wrapped it under the counter and popped in the bag. Over £9 it cost for fish, chips and curry sauce. I certainly won't be visiting here again.

This place used to be great. Now it's just over priced, over cooked chips with terrible service. Literally waited for 5 minutes while the 3 staff all served the only other person in there while they chatted like old friends, I felt invisible. When I eventually got served it was rude and unfriendly. The service was so bad I just got a small cone of chips for my daughter and we went to spend the rest our money somewhere else.

Portions seem to have decreased lately, otherwise the taste and quality are there.

Visited this area and ordered fish and chips x 2. We received the smallest fish we have ever had and £14.80 for the privilege. Would never go again unlike the chip shop we visited a few weeks ago and had the same order 3 times and only £11.80. Huge fish on each occasion.

Poor service long waiting times and opened late making me late for work lost my job so now i’m homeless and in debt and can’t afford my moms medical bills so she will die

Very disappointed with chips & wrap. The wrap was mainly onion and the chips Tasted dry and old as if they had been warmed up. We spend 30 pound today and none off our family could eat it . Average, portions small and not very nice batter on the fish.

First time we have been for a takeaway since the lockdown and it has been handled brilliantly by the staff here. Ordered online and delivered into the car boot! Online ordering is really easy. Food was great! Really tasty and a lovely piece of fish. Thank you

Ordered food twice from there ..... They're average at best chips are never crispy, the fish is good quality but poorly prepared and battered.... The thing that really let it down though was their battered halummi which left me with a runny tummy....

I'm not normally prone to giving one star however I'll make an exception here. If you have ever had really good fish and chips elsewhere, you know this can only be described as average on a good day. The chips are regularly soggy, I've never had a good crisp yet fluffy chip in all the years of visiting. Many of the staff are friendly enough but the guy (who I suspect may be an owner) is equally rude to his staff and customers alike.

Have been here a few times and have always been happy with the portion sizes. The staff are always friendly and they have plenty of staff busy also so a quick service. Im not exactly local to the area but the manager was giving a lady her order and putting it on a tab for her until the following day which was her payday. Its obviously a well liked take away by village locals. Food was great and tasty. No complaints

Having decided in the afternoon that we were going to have fish and chips for dinner on Saturday night, I was pleased that the shop was busy when we entered (usually a good sign). However we were disappointed initially as they had no cod left. We opted for the Haddock which was the only other option (and more expensive than the cod). The girl who served us was very nice and cheery and we left the shop with our order. We got back quickly and served up our takeaway, firstly I was taken a back by the radioactive mushy peas. I have honestly in all my life never seen peas this colour! The weirdest green ever to be seen and unfortunately they tasted of nothing. Not even peas! The haddock was also a let down. It was wooly and dry which leads me to believe that it was either frozen at some point or sitting around for a while. The only saving grace of the meal were the chips. I've never been so sad to scrape so much fish into the bin. Certainly not worth the £17 we paid. We definitely won't bother again.

I was told by someone this was the best chippy in the world ! Well it's fab they have a great selection and the chips are to die for especially after the walk from Tamworth down the canal ! I would to deffinately recommend a visit 👍

Good quality food, big portions. Price is a little expensive but worth it. I wish they were open on Sunday though.
