Podium Restaurant Bar & Lounge in Manchester

Food is absolutely tremendous…but the people are the best. From people like Lana and Chris for breakfast service…to Bob, Manish, Yannick, and Eliza for dinner service…you won’t find better service anywhere. The whole team is a delight. Highly recommend

I’m staying at the Hilton deansgate hotel and all I can say is this restaurant is just magnificent!. I have a lot of food allergies yet nothing was ever too much for them, they cooked everything separately to avoid the risk of cross contamination easing my anxiety due to my stomach problems and knowing what would happen if I accidentally had something I was allergic too so knowing they cater well for food allergies is very reassuring. The first night I arrived I booked a table and had steak and chips, I cook all the time at home so I’m a bit of a critic when it comes to dining out but I wish I could of spoken to the chef to ask his secret of cooking a perfect steak because despite it was very well done it was the softest steak I’ve ever had and by far the best!. The bar is also wonderful with the most professional and friendly staff, I’ve had lunch in the bar and the food is out of this world and the chips are not just your basic chips they are absolutely delicious. I also hope his manager sees this because if so your colleague Bob deserves some recognition for the incredible customer service, he’s so friendly, polite, kind and a real star in your team! I highly recommend this restaurant as its 5 star service and the most incredible food!

Manish was absolutely amazing, so attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. We started with the bread course with cheese custard, onion tea and marmite butter which provides a unique experience. Starter was the Cornish crab with Thai green sauce - beautiful presentation. Main was the duck breast and duck bao bun - juicy and delicious! Finished off with the coconut mousse and mango sorbet which was so refreshing and light. Would definitely recommend and rate service and food 100%

The food was absolutely incredible. Presented beautifully and tasted heavenly. Manish our waiter was brilliant too. He wished us a happy anniversary on our arrival, gave us complimentary Prosecco. He took the time to explain each dish that was brought to us and he also recommended some cocktails which he got spot on to what we wanted. Overall, he made our dining experience 5 star!!! Had two meals here this week and both were exquisite! Lovely atmosphere, food and drink. The portions are just the right size (providing you get one side). Beautiful presentation and incredible flavours. Manish is a regular waiter here and his level of service is excellent.

I really enjoyed the food here. We had an issue with the bill, but the manager was quick to sort it out after. It would normally be a good spot but the large TV in the Hilton lounge with the football did come through a bit.

I had an amazing time at the restaurant, the service was magnificent and I’ll definitely be coming back! I want to thank all the staff for a great experience, especially Manish, who looked after us, kept us updated throughout, made sure everything was in order and made our dinner even more special. We left the restaurant talking about how good a host Manish was and made sure we left a review to shout him out for his good work!

This was a below satisfactory experience. The food was very poor to the extent where i couldnt even eat any on my main course which was a Buffalo Chicken burger ordered from the bar menu. Very over priced and the quality does not reflect this. I would never recommend anyone to dine here as the food is so poor. Not impressed at all.

I had so much fun last night at Podium with my husband. I was there for my birthday. The package and food was really good. Manish served us. He was OUTSTANDING. He recommended the best dishes for us according to our likes and dietary requirements. He knew each dish and the ingredients so well. I had the Rhubarb dessert and it was scrumptiously sublime. I wouldn't have chosen Rhubarb but I am glad I trusted Manish. He studied food and hospitality in the UK and India. We were lucky to have him last night. Thank you again Manish for a wonderful evening.

Fabulous catch up dinner with friends! The cheese custard it’s to die for- lovely touch as it was served by the head chef! All food (which we were told was launched a week ago?) was amazing! Marco- our server was fantastic- we felt very looked after! Definitely will come back!

This is a great place for a fine dining experience. I loved the vegan menu. It was nice to have more than one vegan option for all courses and sides. Manish, the waiter was attentive, polite and professional. He talked me through the menu and helped me choose what to have. I would definately come here again with my family.

This is a high quality place. Going to set you back a few £.. But could be Michelin star

Very expensive and not much to show for it. All four of us had starters, main and dessert. Miniscule portions not even that nice. The waitress looked down her nose at us. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. Its not even that swish although they like to think it is. Never again. This place really thinks it is something it is not.

Manish was a brilliant waiter, helpful with regards to my allergy, attentive to our needs and incredibly friendly, nothing was too much. Overall a wonderful experience at this restaurant, the best dining experience we’ve ever had at a Hilton and we’ve had a few. The manager was great, very informative and personal, perfectly pleasant. The cocktails in the Cloud bar were the best we’ve ever had. All in all a wonderful dining experience from pre drinks through to the main meal.

Very polite and welcoming staff ensuring our first experience at this venue was truly enjoyable. Seth and another gentleman in particular catered to us during dinner and were charming and helpful. The cocktail lounge also exceeded our expectations with fantastic views and attentive staff .

We had the ‘wine dine and skyline’ deal which was great value for money at £90 for two. This included a cocktail each in Cloud 23 followed by a 2 course meal with wine in Podium. Delicious food, wonderful ambience and fantastic service by Manish and the others in the Podium. They were so helpful and approachable making a special evening even more memorable.

We went for aneversery dinner. The food was very good but specially desserts was amazing, but most importantly our evening together made our waiter Manish,he looked after us very vell and the we tarts with chocolate piece from the restaurant was a very nice touch. Had a great night out for a birthday meal. The venue is beautiful and the menu caters for vegans. Plenty of options on the menu. Our server Jonathan was very polite and attentive which made the evening a success.

A group of us ordered 3 lots sough dough bread, one came incomplete without the cheese spread etc.. when we asked the waiter he said the 3rd one was on the house..but it appeared on the bill. Please check if you're being given tap water or bottled water.. and 6 bottles appeared on our bill. Not too impressed. Steak and about 3 chips.

Only put food as 1 star as I only came for a drink, I ordered a basic martini, and had 2 bartenders not know how to make one… to be honest I expected more from Hilton… guess not :/

Came on a valentines meal, our waiter was great and made lovely conversation with us. However it went downhill from there, we ordered a steak and venison and a side, this took 50 minutes to “make” before we actually got our meal. We saw another table who were seated a 30 minutes after us get their steaks so i tried to get the managers attention who decided to ignore me. Our waiter had to ask us what we ordered again and said the reason its taking so long is because of the venison but i doubt it takes 50 minutes to cook and as a restaurant i would assume you prepare for dishes like that before service. When the dinner finally came the venison was two tiny strips, not filling at all, and from their excuse couldn’t have taken that long to do two bite sized portions. And the steak was so dry, i asked for medium rare but it was well over well done. We didn’t want to send back as obviously we had already waiting so long. Then while we were eating the manager kept asking us if we were alright, but it just made it awkward due to the fact they knew they messed up but didn’t offer any discount off the bill. Instead, the restaurant sent us a £10 the next visit voucher whilst we were still sat down. Disappointing evening

Warm and friendly serving. But the Cloud23 bar needs to respond faster because the drinks in our valentine's package weren’t served until I asked for twice.

Arrived for a coffee which was £4.20 expensive but I thought I'd treat myself. Server bought my coffee which was filled right to the top .so I couldn't add milk and she charged me £4.60...I said no service charge she looked at me in shock and said she couldn't take it off .I politely said service charge is optional. She was very insistent that she couldn't have it took off. I eventually asked the manager who had a quite word in her ear ...I said ur staff need to be trained properly. I poured my milk in my coffee and it just over flowed.. Bad experience all around

Although food is expensive, it was good. Drinks were ridiculously priced. Unless your business is picking up the bill, avoid. There are great pubs locally that you should go to.
