Just had lunch here with an old friend. Thought we’d try out the new location & that is certainly not disappointing, lovely location & plenty of room. So initial thoughts were good. But, after a considerable wait for our drinks, we were offered the wrong starters to begin with. They were taken back & once again, we waited for the correct gougons to be served, which were delicious. Our steaks were ok, with a tasty peppercorn sauce. But, we’re asked for chips & were given sauté potatoes! We didn’t object as by this time we’d realised there were quite a few meals being returned etc & time was getting on. So, will go back, but wait a while for things to settle! There are 2 loos, one gents and one ladies. Short sited in this day & age of unisex as the clientele were 75% women at least. Also, there was a Henry cleaner sat against the wall? Why? This place will be popular because of its location, but don’t get too cocky please? Keep up the standards & ensure staff are well trained? They were pleasant but not entirely efficient.

We had 7 tapas between 2 of us and there was plenty of food. We hadn't booked but were given a table that was booked for 8.30. As we arrived before 7 this was plenty of time for us to eat and vacate the table. The food was good and the staff knowledgeable. It was a Friday night so they were busy. The selection of fresh meat and fish on display looked really good. Would try next time when in Bridgend.

Braseria El Prado

01/06/2019: Stayed recently in Laleston and came upon El Prado. From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel extremely welcome by the owner and his wonderful front of house man. We loved the way the uncooked food was laid out so we could see exactly what we were choosing. The set price, 2-course dinner was excellent value and the fish dishes we chose were imaginative and delicious. The owner came over and chatted with us - a very interesting and friendly guy. Would recommend eating here unreservedly.
02/06/2019: This place is nice, but could be much better. The next day I went to El Puerto near Cardiff, which I though was great. My steak was not particularly tasty, although the mushroom sauce with it was fine. My partner's hake was excellent. Poor presentation of meat on a plate, begging the question, is that it?
