Cheap nasty breakfast, made the boys sick all day bacon that was gone over date , tastes dead sick

Nipped in with my mam after a busy day to get some food we had fish, chips and curry sauce. I never leave reviews but I had to because honestly it was the NICEST fish and chips I’ve ever had. Fresh, tasty, and the staff were so lovely 🥰 definitely be back ❤️

Cafe with an above average service and food. It may not look much from the outside, but this bustling little cafe offers much more on the inside. The servers are quick and efficient, the food is great value and the coffee served from the espresso machine, well that's tops off a great meal.

Stopped by while my car is having its windscreen replaced by the nearby National Windscreens - quite an unusual (in a good way!) cafe which also doubles up as a shop / news agents. Not seen anything like it before, quite a tidy little business model. I had some food in the cafe, jumbo sausage in batter and some chips and the portion size was fantastic and really filling. The chips were really nice and not greasy like some places and the jumbo sausage in batter was also cooked to the same perfection, plenty of taste and not greasy. Would recommend a visit and would return in future if I am ever in Bridgend again 😄

My regular for a chippy tea ever since I moved to Bridgend 6 years ago. Happy to travel from Broadlands, despite closer Fish n Chip shops. Had double cod and chips last night, huge portions, freshly cooked and perfectly cooked chip shop chips. Great value considering increased takeaway prices over the past few years. Really cheery and friendly young lass served me too.

Lovely food, massive portions! Could definitely have shared a portion of chips between two! Fishcake were very tasty and the curry sauce was the best we’ve had. Two portions of chips, two fishcakes, a bread roll and two cans of pop came to £15.

Used to love this place when I worked in the area so popped in today when passing. Lady serving had an attitude and charged me extra as I wanted my battered sausage wrapped separately to my curry chips and cheese. Overall was very poor value compared to how it used to be £7.85 for small chips curry sauce nd cheese with a battered sausage and portion was very small. Ohhh well I wont make a detour next time im in the area.

Food was very nice how ever as we are sat down eating our breakfast one minute late one of the staff comes round with a hover and we couldn't even enjoy a conversation

Excellent cod & chips, and very good value (half what you might pay in London). Suggestion - options of fish other than Cod would be great. The best f&c I ever had was Alaskan Pollock. But even Haddock would be great, and takes the pressure off the poor old Cod!

Decent cafe not great food but good 😋

The opening times are wrong. The café is open much earlier than 11am. I recommend the freshly cooked breakfast. 👍 Edit: just paid another visit. Small price increase but still a great breakfast.😋

Breakfasts are good. Fish and chips are average though. Batter on the fish is very floury and has no crispness to it.

Great for breakfasts, mags, fags and booze. Fresh sandwiches and salads made to order.

Not bad at all for a nice breakfast, only problem is it can get quite busy at times and that can lead to a lengthy wait. Other than that it is good value for money & plenty of parking right outside.

Chips, cheese and beans - best place to get them!

I dined in and the food is beautiful you won't eat in a better place and the staff are so polite and helpful me and my son love it there we go for our fish and chips every Saturday it's worth every penny and everything is fresh I have tryed breakfast rolls and their full breakfast beautiful food

Lovely fish and chips cooked while you wait. Very generous portions, excellent quality. Use this place fairly regularly always satisfied. Considering cost of living, supply increases etc, price is not too bad.

Come down Wednesday 2 of December had small fish and chips and a can of coke was charged 11 20 which I thought was deer didn't say anything because they were very busy will definitely watch next time

Great food, good prices and big portions. Staff are friendly and good service is guaranteed. Probably not the place you would expect to find a fish and chip shop but it works! Park right outside and if you need to wait, you can go back to the car and have it brought out to you! The "plaice" to go....(!)

Very lovely and prompt service. Offered my son a wet wipe as we'd just been for a hair cut. They had no small sausages left so gave my son a jumbo sausage which he was extremely happy with lol.

Phil's Cafe was the first place I called on my way home from 9 months working overseas. The best value for money fish and chips in the Bridgend area. I wish they would open up in Dubai.

Food is good but it is getting to be too expensive there. When I order the same order the price ranges from £3.75 to £7.65. I always ask beforehand how much it will be so I can change my mind if they decide to charge whatever they want that day!

Lovely chippy. I was starving at work and decided to have a pie and chips.

Pay way to much for a small breakfast.Coffee way to strong with no extra milk on tables. I wouldn't recommend.
