If you get the chance this is the best place to go for food in Margate, the homemade chips were absolutely lovely, the tartar sauce was amazing as well, the staff are really hard working and sweet people and your guaranteed a good eating experience in the outside seating near the sea front and in the sun or shade. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

After heading down to Margate for a Bike Show we discovered Po'boy whilst wandering along the seafront. Safe to say best Fries I've ever had with seaweed salt for seasoning and the Fish Tacos again best I've had in the UK! 10 out of 10 recommended and great customer service with a smile 😊

What an absolute find! I was thrilled to have stumbled across this amazing place. The staff were wonderful and I was completely blown away by the choice of food. I was so indecisive but one of the ladies suggested that she choose something for me and I'm so glad she did. It was flavoursome, tasty and probably something that I wouldn't have ordered for myself. I would love to come back here and eat again.

Asked a simple question about vegan options. Was told to look at the menu. When queued again to order I was asked by one of the team ‘you are looking at me, is there something you want!?’ And then pointed to another queue. I decided to spend my money else where.

We had our family here from London for the day, and this place was very handy for both the beach and the train station. We had two portions of spicy Fish 'n' Chips, one traditional Fish 'n' Chips, and a Prawn Salad. Not the cheapest, but of good quality, worth the extra money. Food arrived within a reasonable time, was well prepared, hot, and most importantly very tasty. We sat on the Sun Deck, and could mix the food and drinks from the other outlets.

Couldn’t recommend the food more. The Cajun fish and chips are a favourite of ours, as are the deep fried pickles . Our three year old loves the kids fish and chips too so perfect family food. Always served by really lovely people too. The Cajun spice is delicious, goes perfectly with the fish and its crispy coating. The chips with seaweed salt on are the perfect accompaniment to dip into a variety of the moreish sauces they have. We’ll be going back again and again!

I couldn't give an honest enough review on how tasty the food is because words aren't enough, you must try for yourself. I recommend this place to anyone I know visiting Margate. I've not stopped thinking about it since my last visit. The food is 10/10 along with the service. I'm praying a Po' Boys is opened in Deal soon!!

So pleased Po'boy is back! Always incredible food, fresh and so so tasty. The fish is perfectly cooked and the chips make such a nice change from the bog standard chippie chips. Great value as well, really fills you up, felt very satisfied. It's really popular but well worth the wait, very friendly chefs. Side note, this is not regular a fish and chip place. If you don't like spiced and interesting food, then perhaps go elsewhere.

I went there the first time today and ordered the creole fish and chips. The chips were really salty and the fish was covered in spices so that you could not actually taste the fish. After a couple of bites I had to throw the food away as I really didn’t enjoy it (and I’m not usually picky with food). I wouldn’t recommend it. If you fancy fish and chips just go to an ordinary fish and chips shop.

Stopped by for lunch at a weekend. Their Creole fish and chips was a cracker. It was at its heart a really well cooked fish and chips, but the addition of spices and a sauce with a feal zing, helped it really stand out. One of more interesting fish and chips I've ever had. Quick service and sensible prices completed a very good meal

The cafe is located near the sea front with some seating outside. They're very well set up for social distancing. The food is tasty - creole fish was particularly good, the po boy sandwich wasn't like any I've had in the past but was great with a good level of spice and the samurai tofu salad was really filling with excellent flavours. The chips weren't as crispy as we would have liked but not a deal breaker - I'd still recommend the food here. The staff were really friendly too.

Fresh air and fresh fish, all very nice but unfortunately not quite perfect.... Fish and chips for nearly £10.00 is not exactly cheap but the fish was very good, chips were not bad, a bit soggy. What I did not like was the accommodation, hard bench seats and rough tables, no plates, just cardboard trays, disposable knives and forks, no serviettes , you get the picture, the presentation was poor. A nice sunny day was aslso a bit spoiled by some screaming little kids, however that is not the fault of the Café. Anyway on the whole a good experience and worth a visit if you are near the seafront.

We had a late lunch here and it was perfect, the children had fish fingers and chips, real fresh battered fish, I had the creole fish and chips which was amazing and my daughter had the prawn salad which she said was the best thing that she had ever eaten! One look at the menu posted on the fence put it at the top of my list of places to eat. I'm in Margate two nights, and I'll be back there tonight to try the lime scallops. I had the Samaurai Prawn Salad - wonderful flavours and colours. As a pickle fan I had to have a side of battered gherkins ... aaah. The young woman serving was really nice and very helpful. Thanks.Sitting at a table on the promenade overlooking the sea on a sunny evening eating this wonderful food. What could be better.

4 hungry punters transcended all the way from old town, down to the sundeck, Roughly a very pleasant 10 minute walk. We had heard excellent reports on how good Po'Boy is and I'm very pleased to say we wasn't disappointed. We had Creole and Traditional varieties which were thick cuts of fish with the crispiest of batters and both coming with wonderful skin on thin fries, served with either homemade tartar sauce or mango and lime sauce.....delicious. We really couldn't recommend it highly enough, Fantastic food, service, sundeck and views, keep up the good work and I look forward to coming again.

Had our lunch here facing out to the sea on a lovely but windy day. The menu was exciting to read, but we knew straight away what we wanted. Scallop Po'Boy and the salmon salad along with a small portion of seaweed salted chips. On reflection, I think we would have both had the salad options. Having said that all the food was utterly delicious, the dressing on the salad was delightful, fresh and super tasty. I had a can of rhubarb pop and my sister had ginger-lively and lovely! We liked the food was served in recyclable tableware and the knives and forks we're wooden. Having just done a beach clean the two top items we picked up were Plastic forks and straws. Made me quite cross.Very happy to rate as 5 stars

Wonderful little snack shack cafe overlooking Nayland Rock (which is a great place to forage for old steamer crockery and other treasures, at low tide). The food is great fun and very tasty. We went last weekend on a cold day and sat indoors with lovely spicy mackerel rolls, and those excellent chips. It really comes into its own on a warm evening. Incredibly friendly staff too. What an absolute treat it is to eat here; the Bang Bang Tofu is amazing (as is the Samurai Tofu), and I love that you can have your meal as a salad or a po' boy. Po’ Boy is our reward to ourselves at the end of the brilliant Viking Coastal Cycle Trail! The setting, right on the sea-front, is glorious but the food would not be out of place in the finest restaurants. The fish is wonderfully flaky-fresh and the panko coating, both Creole and Traditional, is crisp, dry and delicious. Do not confuse this food with regular, soggy fish ‘n’ chips, it’s on a different level altogether!!

We arrived at Po Boy Margate and were greeted by the most animated young man called Tom who actually owns it! He is passionate and engaging and was telling us all about his traveling that had led him to open Po Boy. Menu looked really interesting and full of creole flavours so we went for a less traditional version of fish & chips & had Cajun crusted and fries, with mango and chilli salsa. The crust was thick crunchy and incredible but critically the gorgeous piece of fish inside was flaky and moist. The salsa wasn’t at all bland, you could taste the mango. Minted peas finished this off nicely although the ‘guac’ peas would have been just as good a choice. Scallops, prawns and more traditional flavours were available too making it kid-friendly but definitely provided something more adventurous for the fish and chip lover.

Came here for lunch with friends on their recommendation and very pleased we did! The small menu is still varied and interesting, with something for everyone - catering for vegan/vegetarians too. I opted for the special Po’ Boy, the Bang Bang, which was delicious - fantastic creole flavours, light and crispy batter on the prawns and crunchy Asian slaw. Really well balanced and excellent value for money. I’ll be back to try the fish and chips next - they looked delicious!!

Now we officially tried all the food outlets on the Margate's revived 'Sundeck' and Po'Boy like it's neighbours was Fantastic! Lovely fresh fish served in Creole style batter - not to spicey, just really really tasty! The Chips? Cooked to perfection with Seaweed- so nice! Kids portions are available also and are served with juice. Some could say £9 for a portion of fish and chips is expensive? Maybe, but the atmosphere and all round good family friendly vibe of the sundeck makes it all worth while. It is just that little something different away from the Old Town & Cliftonville. The staff are really friendly and are more than happy to help! Cant wait to get back and try the Crab Burger! Keep up the great work guys.

Just stopped on a whim to share a portion of fish n chips with my partner to tide us over until the evening stew. Had the creole fish n chips, and it was sensational. Chips were a french fry cut, but double fried, and were luscious. The fish was super-fresh tasting, and the spiced crusty batter was lush - a really nice combo of fresh-tasting spices, which didn't overpower the cod: really nicely done! To top it off, it came with a small pot of amazing limey salsa, with a great hit of chilli.Would love to be able to make this - appears to have banana in it: I bet it's top secret!

Well this was an interesting evening, I am giving it a mixed review , we were a group of 16 for my daughters birthday , we had booked weeks ago so expected it to be smooth but it wasn't . Sadly the restaurant was far too warm and everyone was uncomfortable. We were told it would be two tables of eight but when we arrived it wasn’t so they had to rearrange the tables . The service was slow and we didn’t get our starters for half an hour after sitting . The starter portions were all very small for the price they charge - for example I think £14 for a minuscule portion of salmon is excessive , same with the scallops , we asked for bread and were charged £5 for a chunk of bread !!! Steak was ok but really nothing special for £28. Monkfish was nice but again nothing special for the price , the sole was nice but overcooked as was the lobster . Most of the staff were friendly and helpful . Sadly we felt it was very overpriced and the food just ok , we won’t return anytime soon .

This is a hole in the wall place its one of the best places i have been to in Southend. The name lets it down as you would not think its a place to eat rather a bubble tea location. The owner is from Hungry and her food speaks of where her roots are. The food is all homemade even the burgers and the rolls. There is food for everyone to eat. Nomadic Chef

Really bad. Got seated quick enough when we arrived but waited 25 minutes for our drinks which was a bottle of beer and a coke. 25 minutes is a long time when just sitting at a table trying to get someone's attention. The people next to us were waiting even longer. Didn't get asked about allergies even though the receipt said we had (my wife has a diary allergy.) Good job she knows what to order. Lots of other unhappy customers. Wouldn't waste your time or money. Had to go and ask for the bill as server more interested in doing anything other than talk to the customers. This is my a cheap place to eat out anymore so the service really needs to be on point. Poor.
