My wife and had a fantastic carvery. Prefectly cooked meats and veg and lovely and fresh, made even better by friendly staff, Karen in pertular was so lovely with us, will definitely be returning.

Absolutely lovely experience. Have not visited before. Welcomed by the lovely Franki and taken care of by both Franki and Karen. Such lovely, attentive staff and service. Food was amazing and great value for money plus a play area for the kids to let off some steam. Will definitely come back!

Hadn't been this pub for a long time took the grandkids they loved the inside and outside play areas staff friendly.

What a wonderful place the carvery is the best we have ever have, the children had pasta , garlic bread and corn ate everything. The staff make sure you are made welcome especially Steph she's so good with the children. Many thanks to you all.

Great place for a meal with friends and family, staff lovely, clean and tidy, nice toilets clean. Good atmosphere, we enjoy going there.good play area for the children too. carpark too.

I came with my daughter and 3 grandsons yesterday 2.9.24 From bar staff to floor staff and in particular Karen who was delightful. Lovely food , just all pleasant,helpful and service from each so helpful. Lovelybexperience. Hope to repeat when over this way again.

Poor service had to get the drinks myself , and laughed at my brother (who has a disability ) but the food was average ! I will not be visiting again !

Enjoyed a lovely meal here with the family. Carvery was delicious. Karen was lovely, she provided proper old school Customer Service and we felt like we had been truly looked after. Will definitely be coming back again.

We visited today as a group of 6 and from the moment we walked in we were treated impeccably! The floor staff were attentive and faultless in there attitude towards customers,I have to mention Francesca in particular,she went above and beyond for us, but she was like that with everyone she served. We came for lunch and rebooked for tea! The guy on the carvery was talkative and happy in his work, and the bar staff were jolly,just what you want when you go out as a family! Well done to the plough your team on 17.8.24 were 10 out of 10!

I have updates my review for two reasons. On reflection I was grumpy yesterday, the service was really good. They took the time to reply to my review, so they obviously care. I lived in Alsager in the 80s and The Plough was my regular. I guess my trip down memory lane was spoilt a little by change! Not the fault of the pub. The area I sat was a bit grubby and the table was sticky.

I took my grand daughter and her nan. My grand daughter wanted to have fun in the play area and we then all had food. A good size play area in an area away from the main pub but we were able to order and eat food in the area.

The waitress Karen was amazing and really funny. She definitely made the day more pleasant! Also a big thanks to the chef and barman for great food and drinks!

I went for my lunch and had a carvery, I have been many times and have always had a good and tasty meal, my server Frankie was very polite and attentive, she helped me at the Carvery and then carried it to my table as I am in a wheelchair so I could'nt carry it for myself. Despite it being very busy Frankie has a happy attitude and a pleasant smile on her face. The Plough Inn has got a brilliant member of staff in Frankie and I enjoy my visits. Frankie has 5 stars from me.

Poor quality food with a greasy taste, especially the pigs in blankets, they were awful and oily. Made with cheap sausage and bacon, then left in the fat to soak it up. The meat was ridiculously small portions and just enough for a fork full of each. Was refused a shandy for my 11 year old, which I thought was allowed with a meal... They wouldn't even make a shandy with alcohol free beer either. It's not often i give a poor review, I certainly won't be going back again.

We came for my nephews 5th birthday and booked the Whacky Warehouse but on the day it was closed. We had to wait an hour until the food was served but we were all happy with our food (party of 6) we were exceptionally happy with our service from Frankie. She made us welcome throughout the whole service, entertained us all with colouring pictures and words searches to pass the time for us and entertain the kids. She even sang happy birthday to my nephew. Nothing was too much to ask from her. A credit to your team.

Came out for a carvery and it was fabulous. Sam and Frankie are very friendly, highly recommended! Went above and beyond with everything!

Karen is was is such a delight to talk too. She is so attentive and really looks after us whenever we come in. Fantastic service every time, can never fault it. Food is always good. This is our local and feel like apart of the plough family whenever we walk in . Thanks to all.

Sunday carvery is excellent and good value I go at least once1 a month can get very busy as people find out how good it is.

BIG FAT SHOUT OUT TO OLLIE (in the resturant). Who gave my little girl a big bag of ice for her wrist when she hurt it in the wacky warehouse. We went through for some ice and he got her the biggest scoop of ice, wrapped it in blue roll, then in a bag, and gave both my kiddos a j20 each. Such a kind, caring, friendly guy. An absolute legend. Such a nice guy! Thanks Ollie!

Very welcoming pub to eat for families with a whole kids menu and also very tasty food for adults. They have a playground and also plates & cutlery for kids. Perfect for a short stop from the M6 to north or south

Incredible carvery! We were greeted straight away, it was lucky that we were as the carvery was just about to close. We were served Dylan and Karen who were both amazing! I wasn’t expecting much considering the carvery was minutes from being taken off but the carvery was the best we’ve ever had. Amazing selection of fresh selection of veg and meats. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

7 of my family and I came to you for dinner today and loved it the food was lovely and the staff were superb,friendly,helpful and very attentive especially frankie she couldn't do enough for us. Thank you all for a lovely meal.

We have been coming to this lovely venue for many a year and bringing the grandchildren since they were little, now there grown up when they come to visit its the first place we go for a meal , never been disappointed with the food staff are always helpful and so friendly.

We hosted a wedding here on Friday 10th May. The staff were absolutely lovely and sectioned the back space off for us and even put the decorations out for us. They looked after the cake for us too and were generally all round wonderful. They cater for vegetarians if you choose the carvery and were all so polite and helpful. The kids loved the playpark and the wacky warehouse. Thank you for making my Dad’s wedding day meal a success =)

Called in tonight as waiting for grandson who was playing football nearby, ordered fish and chips x2 , they did say there wasn't enough fish but would make up with scampi, well when it eventually arrived what a disappointment, fish was dry and 3 pieces of scampi, a spoonful of mushy peas, Terrible food , won't be calling again

Top notch service tonight we come regularly but came for my daughter's birthday meal tonight and the staff really looked after us and went beyond food was brilliant these guys deserve the 5 stars

All the staff Any time were are here the assistants is first class went for me neices birthday all though the ball pit was closed the staff made my neice feel very welcome and were brilliant in bringing out her food and cake, we will definitely be back again soon chefs and waiting on staff are first class and a credit to you, keep up the good work, and lovely atmosphere well worth the visit

Second time visit and standards are high. Large portions sizes. Served by Karen and Franki who were fantastic. One of the best Green King pubs.

Best Greene King Carvery to date great service and food very good Yorkshire Puds made on site. We had Medium carvery at a weekend £11.29 weekday £9.79 great value. 2nd visit just as good ...love Karen (she needs a new name tag)😃 excellent friendly staff indicates good training and happy workplace. Food was very good. We ate at another GK at Market Drayton last week nearer to home, it wasn't close to this standard. Love the new tea coffee and cake deal great idea .

Hate writing reviews like this, and debated whether to post or not. Lovely little place! Just a shame about the atmosphere and the lack of team members. It’s not their fault. But the company should sort out the labour! One barman, one manager and one server. And by the looks of it only two kitchen TMs. Went for a carvery and it was fairly busy. Didn’t know whether to sit down or wait to be seated so asked the floor TM and he didn’t seem best pleased and rushed off his feet. Quite rightly too! A lot of decent tables were reserved so wasn’t much choice especially for people with accessibility issues like us! Then once we ordered we weren’t sure if we needed a ticket or something for the carvery. So went straight up, some guests before us had a ticket so I then panicked and went to the bar to enquire. Bar man was busy but was preoccupied by some guests chatting about beer prices and that they should be lowered to get more people in (not how it works but I like the idea!). Didn’t even acknowledge me waiting. So I went and asked the floor TM instead and he said I could use the app as a ticket so we did! The poor guy on the carvery station was legit in and out of the kitchen constantly. Food was absolutely beautiful though. Really looked and tasted like a homemade roast dinner! Only other thing that let it down was some of the guests. Just sat there drinking ignoring their toddler. It was heartbreaking to see and hear as they were right in the front of the restaurant and were very loud. The poor kid just wanted to play not be stuck in the corner. Even other guests weren’t comfortable with it at all. The whole experience made me very anxious and I won’t be coming back in a hurry unfortunately which is a shame! 😣😣 Again, I don’t blame any of the team members on duty. They did what they could given the tools at their use!

Only one member of staff doing drinks and taking orders at the till needs 2 people long queues!!! to order and pay! Good carvery though.

Went for a carvery for the first time today ,must say best carvery I have ever had ,every thing on my plate was excellent and will definitely go back ,thank you to the staff to who were very friendly and attentive, going back soon xx

During a recent stay in the area we popped in 3 times and placed an order through the app. The first time we had to be refunded due to the kitchen closing a lot earlier than advertised. The next 2 visits we had to be refunded as the items on the menu were unavailable. Very disappointing. The lady behind the bar was very apologetic, it wasn’t her fault. It either regularly happens here or we were extremely unlucky

Visited here regularly, foods nice and reasonably priced. Service I've only given a 3 star due to the ONE member of staff who is really lovely and friendly the other 2 I came across where very rude I think one might have been management aswell! She was unbelievably ignorant. If it wasn't for the one waitress I would have gave a 1 star.

Always been very happy coming here over the years and no complaints as of yet towards the food, staff etc etc However after booking a table on the Sunday just gone to be told 10mins after we arrived that there was a hour and half wait on food was a first. We ended up leaving and eating elsewhere; hopefully this won’t be a reoccurring thing.

Decent option just off the motorway with football on TV, decent food for the price and a good children’s play area. A solid alternative to motorway services when travelling North/South.

Happy to pop in for a quiet cold drink,A very hospitable polite friendly lady in Frankie,,made yo feel welcome,and spoke to you In a nice friendly manner,,can't say the rest of the staff would even try to attempt to interact,serve you and thats it,unless they know you as a local,otherwise I felt like i got the cold shoulder,,biggest reason I go in is to see Frankie and the beer is nice n cold,refreshin,which is the only two reasons I go in,oh and the toilets are clean,it's dog friendly I've not stayed for food,don't think I will for the time being

This is a lovely pub, that has an all day carvery and menu. We often visit with friends for either lunch, or meal before going into Crewe for a show at the Lyceum Theatre, as only ten minutes away. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is good, never had a bad meal in the 5 years I have been going.

Went here for the first time. To meet up for the breakfast with my mates from 58 signals. Had a great time and had a great breakfast. Abs it was great to catch up with my signals family hopefully see you all there next time.

Went here with family for a birthday meal. My husband had a chicken and bacon “salad” if that’s what you can call it. It was lettuce leaves no other salad items. Myself and my daughter had steak asked for it very well done.it came rare blood oozing out of it. Portions were like a children’s meal. Some of us had eaten half the meal before others came. Deserts all came out at different times. Some of the staff were polite but we definitely won’t be returning here again.

We had a bad experience here on Saturday 3rd Feb. We arrived 10am for Breakfast at the Soft Play Area to be told there weren't enough chefs so no food available until 12. We drove down the road to Chatwins to get Breakfast, came back at 1145 to the Soft Play, there were two groups ahead of us in the queue. The both get in, it comes to us and we're told they're fully booked and no more space. What a waste of time. We won't be going back.

Meal was terrible .. juicy burger was dry .. cheese should have been melted was just a plastic cheese slice on top .. the bap was toasted was rock hard .. could have broke my teeth on it .. however it replaced and done proper was lovely 😍 Was gutted they stopped doing the Yorkshire pudding dessert .. however we did get one lol 😆 😂 that's the main reason I go

Visit very often for a carvery which is always really tasty, lots of variety of vegetables and choice between turkey, beef or gammon. Warm and friendly atmosphere with excellent service. All the food is delicious although the Turkey is always succulent and absolutely mouth-watering 😋 This time I had the Gammon and Beef - both of which were absolutely delicious.

It,s gone downhill. One member of staff I had not seen before, a lady, was very rude. It was her fault how she went about it then took it out of us. No skills at all. Will not eat here again. Regret going.

Steak done rare, blood coming out everywhere, instead I asked for medium not rare. Peppercorn sauce was watered down disappeared when poured over the meal like water, waitress brought the meals, we had to chase the sauce and she was rude bringing it, stalling our meal, then the sauce replaced when 3/4 of the meal had gone and that was hanging about eating for waiting. Won,t go again, been in Alsager for 55 years should have known better but only ate here for having my dog with us otherwise would not have been in here. Unprofessional and a waste of £27 with a coffee.

Pigs in fat We went for some food here last night 4/12/23 we had ordered two large carvery's and two pigs in blanket for a starter we went to the carvery to get food and we were told we could only have turkey as the needed to keep other meats for a Xmas party they were hosting later, sat down for food starter arrives 5 minutes later 4 pigs in blanket in a small bowl i suggested to the waitress we ordered two starter and she stated that, that was both of the starters in one bowl sausages wrapped in bacon fat no bacon at all I never even tried them the look of them knocked me sick.
