Needs a bit of attention, a bit rundown

Not too bad of place a group of us nipped in for a couple of pints, average beers really

Got told that we were taking up space and stealing heat from the fire as we weren't buying enough drinks - v.frosty atmosphere/strange behaviour - would not reccomend.

Very Friendly staff the pub is very cold only a fire for heating. Freezing in toilets

We didn't eat here. Just passed by and popped in for a drink. Wonderful greeting by the hosts, homely, warm glow from the real fire too. The regulars were chatty, so lovely to be in a real pub, not many about now.

Wasn't planning to visit but as I walked past was drawn in by the warm light spreading from the two bay windows. Inside I was served quickly with an excellent pint of Abbot and there were many other to choose from. Thursday evening but still about two dozen punters. Great to see a wet pub doing well

Let me be the first to put a review on abiut the NEW LANDLORD AND LANDLADY of the Railway Inn. The best compliment I can give them is to say I wish it was in Blackpool where I live, it would surely be my local. These two people are naturals in the hospitality industry. They will soon have the locals flocking to this quaint little hostelry. I wish them ever success for the future. Alan Murdock

Great real ales, large car park and outdoor seating. Real fire, darts, dogs allows

Good, old fashioned pub. Six beers on draft on my visit; had an excellent pint of Bass & Titanic Cherry Porter. 1970s music/video but not loud or intrusive. Superb pub!

Decent local pub - nothing special but good, regularly updated beers and pleasant staff. A definite stop over on my way into Alsager for a meal

Always friendly, great selection of Ales, and if the dog picks his walking route usually where we end up!

Popped in for a quick drink, the pub was very empty apart from a group of older men. The atmosphere was not great, we could not escape from the groups vulgar language - it was very sexist and out of order. After numerous ‘C’ words we felt we had to drink up and leave. Safely to say we will not be returning.

Excellent choice of proper beer,with added bonus of Greek food stall.

Asked for a simple favour. The staff was not interested in helping. The plumper over the road kindly helped me out though.

This venue was friendly and inviting with a great atmosphere. The barkeep were friendly, the place was clean and they accept card aswel as cash payments, oh and they have outdoor seating. I look forward to popping in again the next time I'm in the area.

Brilliantly kept beer, never a bad pint. Bar staff always friendly with a smile on their face . Landlady runs a tight ship, no yobs.

Went to watch the England and got told to keep the noise down when england scored. Our table just got pin pointed from the moment we arrived even though everyone else was also being just as noisy

This is a little gem of a pub. Great beer on draught and very attentive staff. Lots of seating outside too, so fabulous for a sunny day. My only gripe would be the lack of cider on draught.

Fantastic local. Beer was top quality. The landlady bev friendly and efficient. Surroundings lovely. Prices good. All covid restrictions adhered too. Can't fault it

A quaint little pub with lots of attraction inside, I loved the pictures and decor that gave a view of life gone by. The friendly staff made us very welcome and if I lived more local this would be a pub we would happily frequent.

It's a "Local" pub you are not made unwelcome but it's hard to strike up a conversation with the people, it's a cosy clean place with a great choice of beers

Busy little pub near the Railway as its name implies. Great selection of drink especially the huge array of gins.

Great venue, always a welcome there, very friendly, love singing there, Sid Saint John, Motown and Northern Soul singer.

Don not read the other reviews. This pub does not have dinning. They have a very good selection of ales and lagers, nice atmosphere, but all there is to eat is bar snacks.

Spent an afternoon in the pub with friends for my birthday. Great little pub that is trying to do something different and keep a real pub feel. Good range of ales but poor choice on cider. Nice venue that has been well done out.

Called in yesterday for a beer with friends. Was going to stay for one, ended up staying 5 hours. Great live music on a Wednesday, sports on TV, showing two different matches, large selection of well kept ales, and great bar service. What more could you want?
