Slight issue with temp of food but this was quickly rectified bu a very apologetic chef. Appreciate they were busy as had a wake on in back room and the barmaid was doing her best but you would have thought extra staff would have been on with the wake present. Loos are "old and tired" . Definitely return again once pub has had its refit for the tasty food

What a great Pub. I did not realise that this place had such a great range of Beers, took a while to decide! Great staff and a really nice atmosphere in here. Folk music on a Tuesday in the back room, sounded good to me. Opted for the Three Tuns XXX, Worth it! The food menu looks fantastic, 10 choices! Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.

Best Sunday dinners in town.!! This pub deserves more attention than it gets, whenever I go in it seems quiet and I don't understand it's a great traditional pub, the food is bang on the beers good! Caught it on the news a few ago that the owners of this pub were concerned about the pub trade, we can't let pubs like die folks ! This is my go-to pub for a dinner it should be yours too!! 👌

Just been there for a meal. What a dump.we used to go regularly about 7 years ago.I wouldn’t let a dog eat in there. It was freezing cold people had the jackets on and one woman had a blanket wrapped round her.The curtains were hanging off the windows the plaster was falling off or on the walls and mould and water coming through the gents toilets. The food come out the chips for half cooked and gammon which i had was cold such a let down.so definitely not coming back to this place.

Not good! So, schools holiday and thought I’d treat the family to a meal at what used to be a good eatery. Drinks were reasonably priced although wine was served in a stained glass. So on entrance, the place is now run down to the point of being embarrassing, decor just doesn’t work anymore, urgently in need of upgrade, to the point of no need for ‘Halloween’ decorations as it’s already ancient. Toilets are a lot to be desired to the point of not having any soap in the dispenser in the men’s toilet. Ordered food, order was delivered incorrect to what was specified. Youngest had a pizza which was, well not good as he eats any kind of pizza but even he did eat it!! Eldest had chicken nuggets which he said was rubbery. We used to eat there regularly but the place has gone downhill fast & after what we’ve been through in the last 18 months I don’t want to hinder anybody’s income (especially someone in the hospitality trade) but the old adage is ‘my money, there service’ and in this case the latter is certainly lacking. Wouldn’t advise it to anyone and won’t be going back in the near future which is a shame as it was always one of our favourites.

Terrible. Staff are kids with a terrible attitude that's too much trouble to serve you. First drink took 20 minutes to arrive and the second took another 20 minutes to be seen. We were told that the kitchen closes at 21:00 (this was at 19:55) staff had blinkers on and just did not want to serve customer (must be too much hassle for them) attitude of bar staff showed no level of customer service I would not bother giving them your money if you want good timley service go to the foresters down the road. I could go on but this place does not deserve custom. Management need to review your staff and level of customer service offered by the children you have employed. I hope this changes so that you do not lose your customers as you have lost some today. Today the pub was empty and they could not cope, no management presence and a need to retrain and rehire is my advice. As I said about better pubs around so Do not bother with this one

We have dined here many times as it’s just up the road from us and always been happy, but as it was during the ‘eat out to help out’ period we decided to book. When we arrived we were taken to the back of the pub into a little dark room which felt like we were in a dungeon (in hindsight should have left at this point) Our table was booked for 7 but it was after 8 before we received any food. We got 50% of the bill due to the promotion but it wasn’t a nice dining experience 🤦🏻♀️ If we Ever go back again I will check first that we are dining in the main room. Feel we should have been advised when booking that we would not be in the normal dining room 😏

Dropped in for an impromptu Family meal last night after reading reviews on here. So disappointed!got there about 6:45. There was one other family just finishing there meal so wasn’t busy at all. We ordered our meal, the waitress who was lovely, writ everything down & repeated it back 2 us so we knew she had all correct. 3 steaks were ordered 2 medium rare 1 medium, asked for the tomatoes not 2 b grilled. When the meal arrived noticed the tomato was grilled! The waitress offered 2 change it which she did. Then I cut in 2 my steak which was medium to well done, I complained to the waitress she apologised & did offer to change it, I refused as I did want eat alone we came out as a family so we should eat as a family! Again there was an apology. The point is there was no excuse for this as the pub was very quiet & the order was confirmed by the waitress. The chef/cook made no effort to see us & explain why he/she couldn’t follow a simple request. Sorry but this is just not good enough!!! We paid for our food( in full I mite add)& left. Won’t b going back!

We have just returned from a visit for Sunday lunch. We ordered 3 beef dinners and two of them came out with the scrag ends of beef. One in particular was just a lump of fat with a tiny amount of eatable meat. We asked to speak to someone and they sent the waitress. She took the dinners away only to return to say chef says it’s the same piece of beef and it’s all the same. Strange how the third meal had two lovely slices of beef on it. I find this ludicrous as they were continuing to serve beef dinners after this with nice slices of meat on. Seems to me that they need to find a chef that knows when they are serving substandard food and has the bottle to admit, say sorry and serve up what the customer ordered. Shoddy customer service which had resulted in us never returning. Clearly they don’t need the custom or they would have put it right.

We saw the posters for a real ale festival weekend and decided to visit on the Monday afternoon. We took two fold up chairs to sit outside on a really Hot,not warm ,balmy day. When we arrived at 3.30,there were 20-30 customers in and around the garden area on good garden seats . The layout of the musicians on one side of the garden, the outside drinks bar, consisting of numerous Gins and several real ales, complemented with blackcountry snacks,at the rear of the garden al added up to a great venue. Real ale and menu were also avalible inside. What a great day. It was free music and entry. At 4.00 it was heaveing, great music for all and a real family atmosphere . Perhaps if this is an annual event ,next year, the management arrange a better glass collection and stock more glasse as they continuously did no have glasses avalible at the bar, despite mega empties being around all areas not collected. Hope to return again as this is a great event.

However, when the young lady brought our food out we ordered 2 drinks, one wine and one coke, the young lady came out with a strange response that she doesn't do drinks as she is too young? My wife and I visit the Plough most late Sunday afternoons for dinner and a drink or two. Living in Wollaston, we walk past about half a dozen pubs to get there which says alot. It's a proper pub with an authentic vintage decor. The beer is kept very well with a great selection of real ales. The food is faultless. £7.95 for a big Sunday roast! The regular menu is good too. Staff are mostly young but very friendly and attentive. All in all it's a nice place to relax on a Sunday afternoon.

I do enjoy a meal at the plough as the food is always delicious, however I do think they need to work on their service. When we arrived for Sunday lunch, yes it is a carvery but we had to queue at the bar to order our meal before we were allowed to our table and the line was so long it felt very cramped and unprofessional. I know it's a carvery and it is expected to be quicker than a normal Sunday lunch but we felt rushed and didn't enjoy the food as much. We also did not go up to the bar to get more drinks as the queue was again to long it was simply not worth it! This place has the potential easily to be 5 stars as the food is obviously lovely and they are always booked up I just think they need to hire more staff and work on their service a bit more.

With the possible exception of Chequers Inn (Wetherspoons), Stourbridge seems to be sadly lacking in eateries that offer decent pub grub or anything more than a sandwich. We were fortunate to find the Plough Inn after stopping at 2 other possibilities (we hoped)that didn't sell any kind of food at all-not even"salt'n'vinegar or cheese'n'onion" as another advertismentoffers. What a find! The food was sublime, all homemade, and exactly the right amount for a lunchtime pub grub meal. The apple pie for dessert was to die for as well and the waitress who served us was wonderful, very jolly and nothing was too much trouble. It was such a change to find a pub too where you don't get wall to wall sport - the Olympics are on - or pop music thst is designed to deafen you. It may be 13 miles from where I live but it is definitely worth the trip. It cost less than half of what we paid yesterday for 3 Sunday lunches that you could sole your shoes with! but I'm not naming names as I was treated to the meal. Would I go again, you bet I would. I'm going next week with my daughter and granddaughter.

Stopped off here for dinner on journey home just before end of service on a Sunday evening. The staff were pleasant and friendly enough, but the food was the worst I've been served in a very long time and I eat out fairly regularly. My husband and I both ordered vegetable lasagne with salad and new potatoes at £8.95. The pasta was swimming in a watery, tasteless tomato sauce with only a couple of miniscule squares of red pepper in it. My husband fared slightly better in that he also had a couple of green beans in his. The new potatoes were lukewarm, spongy and grey inside and had obviously been cooked a long time before they found their way onto our plates. The salad, at least, was fresh, and was the only part of the dish I ate. Upon sharing my views with the manageress, she immediately told the bar staff not to charge me for the meal. However, no apology or explanation was offered. I will not be eating here again and would certainly not recommend it.

Considering the prices for food are not exactly budget prices the food here is well below par. Me and my partner came here today for a meal but it was spoiled by the quality. I ordered the vegetable canelloni - the pasta was undercooked and hard, and the sauce was bland. There was no flavour at all. The chips were soggy.. Ive had more flavoursome water! The service also needs working on. The young lad serving us, was friendly enough but we had to repeat things quite a lot, and we werent even offered a desert menu after, so we left. We wont be visiting for food again

We booked at The Plough for a family meal om Saturday 14th to celebrate a birthday after being recommended by a friend but we were very disappointed with the food. One of my daughters ordered gammon which had to be sent back as it arrived stone cold, my other daughter's steak was requested med/rare and was blue. About a quarter of my steak was pure gristle and myself and my wife's meal should have had a portion of onion ring and mushrooms to accompany our steaks, but we received only two onion rings each and four small pieces of mushroom, hardly a portion. Needless to say we will not be returning to The Plough Inn.

Have visited this public house many times before, but today was terrible, we waited a very long time for our order....the food was very nice, but the service was not good, again we had to wait for desserts.Too much chatting going on in the pub and not with customers.I felt very disappointed today, and shall not be returning

We attend this pub on a monthly basis, for dinner. The food is good, traditional pub grub for a reasonable price. Service is good on the whole with pleasant polite staff, bar one rude older female who was quite rude and arrogant towards the younger staff on one occasion - it was most unprofessional and quite unnecessary. Suitable for family or couples. Would recommend.

We recently visited the Plough for the first time and will certainly be returning. Our party of 6 all enjoyed well cooked meals from a menu which was interesting and different to the normal "pub grub ". As a piscatarean I was pleased to see a good choice of dishes and was very impressed with the specials board which offered a choice of meals for under £5. The staff were friendly and helpful. I shall be recommending this to friends and hope to return soon.

I regularly eat and drink in this pub and have not got a bad word to say about it. Fantastic beer selection if that is your thing, but I am much more of a wine/spirits girl and I always find they have a variety of affordable options for me. Delicious grub which is also amazing value for money, and as a veggie i always feel I have plenty of choice, and nothing is too much trouble! You will always have a great time here, the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, the epitome of a true British pub!

When you've lived locally for a few years and had a drink in the pub but then get challenged for parking there! Awful. Just awful! Do we complain to the council about your noisy customers? Never! Avoid this pub. They've lost sight about what Wollaston is all about

Great welcome, value for money food and excellent service from Gracey and Geanie, always pleasant, and very hard working in view of low staffing levels. Enjoyed the food, all cooked by the Manager as the chef off sick. Already booked for a return visit.

The meal was delicious, however, the cookie dough was less than ½ inch thick, which was disappointing. Considering the price, I had anticipated a more substantial amount of cookie dough.
