I have been transported back to the green bus station in Southampton all those years ago. My husband has bought Plesed Pies and a couple of sausage rolls from the pie shop in Bittern'e Triangle from a lovely lady called Karen. For those that remember the wonderful taste and the gravy which went down the chin if you couldn't wait till you got home is the same. Thank you so much. Good luck with the shop. From a new and will be back customer. Heather. Xx

Should not be eating when behind the counter serving, as she was asking me would I like some else food was being spit out all over the place.

Couldn't wait to try a Plested pastie from the just-opened Plested Bakehouse at Bitterne Triangle and it was every bit as good as expected. I went back for another. And they have a great range of pies, bread and cakes.

wow how this pie shop has gone down hill so fast, I saw a really nice looking saugage roll but was told it was vegan so was shown these other ones that were apparently meat "dont make me laugh the vegan ones must have more meat than their actual meat ones so i asked are these proper sausage rolls as they look like cheap prosessed ones, the lady who spoke broken english asured me they were real meat ones so once i had bought it i broke it open and all i see was soggy, frozen, sh#t so they now serve exactly the same horrible cheap frozen sausage rolls as greggs utter tat. and the cornish pasty are no better than one from a service station. hardly any meat and the veg is stewed and soggy. it kills me to say this as I hate greggs and how they have crippled the proper bakers but dont waste your money on cheap frozen processed sh#t at plested pies, if thats what you want just walk 20 yards up the road and pop into greggs

I had a steak and kidney pie,had a lot more gravy than I remember from the ones i had years ago . I remember them as really meaty. May not have as much seasoning as we'll . Pastry taste a little bland. Still good as you get in southampton. Please try for yourself and review.

Mince is not steak, but Plested Pies seem to think it is. If I buy a steak pasty/pie from any supermarket/bakery/pie shop, I expect it to contain what they advertise. I’ve never bought something that is meant to contain steak and contained mince instead, I genuinely thought I’d mistakenly bought the wrong thing. Assuming it was my error, I went to purchase from them again and asked for a steak pie and double checked that it was steak not mince. They looked confused and said they only sell mince, not steak. When I queried why they label them steak, they told me mince is steak. Can you imagine going to a restaurant and ordering a steak and getting a plate of mince instead? Really disappointed, I wanted to be able to support a local business but looks like I’ll get my pies from Sainsburys down the road.

I live locally and have been meaning to try Plested Pies for ages. Today I popped in and picked up an original Plested pie and a slice of bread pudding. I was not disappointed by either. The pie was genuinely the best I can ever remember eating, so tasty and full to the brim with meat and gravy. Please please ignore the person that said to go to Greggs instead!

Delicious vegan sausage roll straight from the oven, and a scrummy huge cherry pastry for myself, and a chicken curry slice and a chocolate doughnut for my husband. All highly recommended. Thank you

The original Meat Pie is a part of my childhood. OK, there is a lot of gravy... that is the style... it is a learned skill to eat it... that's the fun. They do , however, supply an almost endless choice of fillings too numerous to go into. You will have to try them all, including the Pasties & fruit options. NO YOU CAN'T GET A PORK PIE HERE. as one idiot mentioned in a review. Pie shops don't do pork pies, you complete moron. Go to the Supermarket for that. For excellent pies with a unique style & flavour, Come Here!

It's nice to see an old company still thriving in the modern high street. Selection of meat pies etc. The recipe has changed over the years since I first started buying their Steak&Kidney pies, the meat is more minced these days and the gravy not as thick as in the past, but still tasty and filling

I've been enjoying the classic Plested meat pies for around 35 years. They're just the best pies I've ever tasted. There's nothing like them. It's a no-frills shop, hasn't changed in years. Staff are always friendly. But it's all about the meat pie.

I visited the place with my friend and a 7 months old baby. Well, we wanted to go to Greggs initially but saw this pie shop so we decided to check it out. We bought 2 steak pies and 2 teas as you would and we asked if we could have hot water to warm up our baby food. We only wanted half a cup of hot water but the lady said they don't give out hot water for that, she suggested we could get the baby a slush puppie instead .... 11 March 2019? a cold day? slush puppie? 7months old baby? ... To cut the long story short, I then asked that my tea should come with no milk, no sugar and no tea bag. The lady charged me happily for two steak pies and two teas .... Will never visit this shop again. The steak pies did not have any meat in them!! it was gravy pie. GO TO GREGGS INSTEAD, Its just down the road.

Was visiting Southampton, and Shirley area in particular, I called in to Plested Pies to see if they were still as good as I remember. Had an individual, hot S&K pie - absolutely delicious - exactly as I remember from the Hants and Dorset bus station (and then from East Street). These are the best you will ever get. I then bought 5 to freeze. As other reviewers have said, this is not a restaurant and the pies are very specific although there are others than S&K such as pasties, etc. Anyone who has lived in Southampton since the 60's knows what type of pies these are - unlike one reviewer who wanted a pork pie. Go to London pie shops and they are also very specific in what they sell. Long may Plested survive against the likes of Greggs. Fully recommend. Pies turned out to be expensive as I must have handed over two new tenners stuck together and didn't realise until I got home :-(

I can remember as a child catching a bus home with my mum always buying us a pie as a treat, this was when the pie shop was in the Southampton bus station ( back in the 60's), when I go to the Shirley shop now I always buy a dozen pies to freeze as I cant get there very often.... this is the best pie shop in England... love them... also now enjoying their fruit pies especially the cherry one... long may you continue

For an all day breakfast this is the place for you. Friendly enough staff and good breakfast food. Availability on the lunch menu was a bit sketchy.
