They have a coffee machine that sounds like a road drill. For conversation you need to sit outside, if you can find a seat!

This has been taken over recently. Gone is the friendly atmosphere. Not a very nice place to be now as the new owner is constantly watching the staff, putting them on edge and not allowing their personalities to shine through. Dawn and Nicole have both gone and with them goes the experience. Food isn't as good as it was. Used to be my regular when Paul had it but I will be going elsewhere from now on.

Waw Waw Waw. This is a lovely little food business. They sell a lot of "lunch" styles of food. I've been 3 times now and all three times were amazing. Even the water tasted *and looked* appetising. Five out of five stars rated. Seats are nice, staff are nice, everything looks good inside the shop, but most importantly...the food is sooooo scrumptious. Highly recommend a visit.

We regularly visit Plaza cafe and the food is always lovely and fresh, made for you there and then. The big Menu boards have a lovely variety of really tasty wraps, sandwiches, baked potatoes etc.- no plain old sarnies here!! The coffee is good and they have nice herbal teas, not to mentined yummy traybakes to follow. Lots of comfortable seating with some sofas down the back. Staff have been there for years and are always cheery!.

By far the friendliest sandwich bar in Co.Down. Massive choice, daily specials, sandwiches, wraps, panninis etc etc. Great coffee and tea (including Suki Teas), cold drinks. Great staff. Only downside is that luchtime,1pm ish, can get very very busy.

Popped into the Plaza for a bite of lunch with my wife today. A great friendly greeting when we arrived. Ordered Luxury BLT sandwich each and a pot of tea. Service was quick and friendly, and the luxury BLT sandwiches were very tasty indeed. Luxury because of the addition of Brie and sun dried tomatoes. Highly recommended.

Me and my 3 year old son called in for lunch and we were not disappointed. He had a kids meal which was fantastic value for money. He ate all his wrap and He loved his ice cream. My Christmas wrap was really tasty. The staff were friendly and very helpful. This will be our regular cafe for lunch from now on.

My girlfriend and I have been eating here for years now. Plaza have a wide variety of food but we always end up eating their fantastic paninis every time. The quick and reliable service also means we can quickly have our lunch here in less than 15 minutes, handy for school students who only have a 45 minute lunch break. Highly recommend Plaza to anybody.

This was originally the Streat, and Paul has taken it over and it still has it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food, and coffees, cold drinks and buns!! My family and myself go pretty regularly for lunch, usually a Saturday, but find now the "Smoking Fogeys" run by 'Eyebrows', take up all the seats outside, even get seats kept for them and go and do shopping and come back to "their" seat. They all usually sit there buy 1 coffee and get free top ups until around two o'clock , I also notice they are also doing this on a Friday!!! A lot of them aren't even from Newtownards!!! This is kinda putting us off going back at the weekend?? None of us smoke, but on a nice day we would like to sit outside too!!!!

I drop in at least once a week for a light bite. It's always warm-even in the depths of winter. As soon as you go in you find the customers are so friendly and always someone will have a chat with me. I've never had a bad plate of food and it's inexpensive It's always cooked well and the presentation is superb. I'm in a wheelchair and as soon as they see me at the door there's a member of staff opening the door for me. Then they'll see me to a table and rearrange the chairs to settle me in. All staff are so pleasant and polite and really make you feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. In my opinion they're the nicest in the town. Plaza is a fantastic 5 star café.

Called in for a late breakfast early lunch. The cafe is still as good since it opened as the Plaza. The staff very friendly and the food is still of a excellent standard. Spoke to Paul the owner he is still has time to speak to you. Good to see the standards and decor haven't fallen. Keep up the good work. Will return.

We visit Newtownards every 6 weeks or so and usually have lunch somewhere. We like the market and the good variety of shops. Today we decided to eat in the Plaza. Very busy place but there were a few tables. The varied menu is all on blackboards so it take a while to read them all but we were not rushed in any way. OH decided on a half monty which is basically a small fry. I decided on a salad. As I do not eat red meat I left it up to the assistant to make up a salad for me. The food was very reasonably priced and was delivered to the table. No complaints at all with the food.. Salad was a generous portion and Monty was not in the least greasy. OH said his Americano coffee was delicious.

This is a great wee place and usually I couldn't fault it however as a non-meat eater I have now been stung twice with meat in my soup. I recently bought "vegetable" soup but on getting back to work I found it was chock full of shredded chicken and today I got "butternut squash" soup and got back to work with it to find it full of shredded ham. You need to disclose these things!

I love this place. The coffee is great and so are the Danish pastries. The food is freshly prepared and the staff are very friendly. Centrally located in the recently re landscaped square in Newtownards. It is a nice place to watch the world go by.

Called into the Plaza for a quick cup of coffee and a scone. It has changed from The Street. I am glad as it seems much brighter and different menu. Some of the same staff is still there. Paul was the previous owner and ran a tight ship then. I never saw him today and hope he is still there. All staff very pleasant and professional. It had live music playing in the afternoon in aid for macmillan charity. Sorry I miss it.A good supply of daily papers and magazines. The coffee and scones still excellent. Must try it for lunch or brunch. You can see the kitchen and it is always spotless.

Called in for coffee and a snack. plenty of staff behind the counter but felt like they were all running into each other. Maybe could be a bit better organized. they seem to do lots of carry out stuff and doorway got a bit packed. Anyway coffee was very good if a little on the cool side. Danish was just okay. I would go back but would hope for it to be a bit less noisy.
