Playyard in Weymouth and Portland

Travelled to weymouth on Sunday 26 May to celebrate my brothers brithday. Booked tables in advance as it was bank holiday. Recieved booking confirmation. Arrived at playyard to find its not even open on a sunday!

Maisie behind the bar was so friendly and accommodating. The cocktails were amazing. Would highly recommend. We went with friends and had a great time.

Nice interesting cocktails! Pretty small venue so can be bit overbearing if a big group comes in. Not the cheapest either but lovely staff

Great time here. Staff are very knowledgeable about their cocktails. It's a great 'intsa' photo opportunity. Book a table to avoid being disappointed as it's small and popular.

Me and my fiancee came down for some drinks after dinner, after being a bartender myself for 5+ years I can say wholeheartedly that the cocktails are not only some of the most creative I've seen for a long time but also some of the most delicious, definitely listen to the staff they have a great insight and are genuinely lovely people. Would come back again in a heartbeat.

A lucky find we stumbled across this place. Cocktails were fantastic. Great staff. Live music. Funky bar but cozy. Not over priced. Great selection of cocktails. Owner was friendly and gave us local information. We were told there can be a wait to get in here in busy summer months. They do a selection of take away cocktails too when they are unable to seat you.

The cocktails are delicious and very creative: skilled staff who are friendly and work hard at creating an electronic atmosphere. Brilliant date night in the best looking bar I've been in, very insta friendly.

We had a couple of the most amazing cocktails ever. Not the cheapest but well worth it. There was a good girl singer in there when we went and it really added to the superb experience. If in Weymouth a must see place for a drink

Firstly I will say that the young lady that served us was lovely ... But the rest of the staff seem to have a bad attitude... the 1st drinks we had were pina coladas.. we tried them and they tasted funny.. we stirred them up and still tasted funny ..our freinds then arrived .. and I got them to try it ... took them back the young lady tried them and said they were definitely off ... she had to have a conversation as to whether we could have replacement drinks.. ( but as we had drunk some of them ) they were replaced with a different cocktail .. one of the males that came over wasn't listening to what I had said.. about these being a replacement drink .. he then went to do our drinks.. did not take the order for the other couple that were with us .. they had to go to the bar ( they do table service ) 10 to 15 minutes waiting for a drink ... when we finished our drinks we asked about having another .. and were told the table was reserved in half an hour .. we said this was fine .. the young lady spoke to the barman .. he raised his eyebrows and said one more only ..but with attitude .. I told them not to bother and told the group to leave ... we are local residents.. and will not be going back .

Me and my girlfriend came to Playyard on the off chance to have a nice cocktail, our expectations were blown out of the park, the cocktails were amazing, the music was sick and the staff were amazing, it’s hard to find such passionate and friendly staff with such a knowledge about what ingredients are in the cocktails (as my partner is vegan, it can be hard sometimes) in these times and Playyard owe it to the two gentlemen behind the bar who know how to shake a cocktail and to be so welcoming and polite, would recommend to anyone in Weymouth to pop in and have a great cocktail at a reasonable price. Will be back soon!!

We hired the PlayYard for our daughter's birthday party. Andrew replied quickly and extremely helpful. Great to have the venue for private hire, amazing cocktails with magical steam (great for the selfie generation). The staff are friendly, the whole team make your celebration one to remember and a fantastic evening. You won't be disappointed for private hire or jut popping in for a cocktail. Beautful decor, PlayYard a touch a magic for Weymouth.

Friendliest bar staff in Weymouth town. If you're looking for some where to get unique drinks (smoking and magical) at that this is the place to go. A warm welcome as soon as we came it. 10/10 will definitely be back.

10/10! Complete magic and theatre! It’s a full experience and not just a bar! I had the tackytini and a happy chemical red! They were amazing! I’ve been before and tried so many. Friends had a Mary Poppins and a strawberry volcano! Music is good. Great decor. Staff are so attentive and kind. Even kind enough to snap some great photos of me and my pals! Have been back again and again and will continue to frequent this venue! Thank you

Firstly id start by saying, i wish we had a bar like this in Gloucestershire. The flair, the drinks, the ambience is extraordinary and for the many years of visiting Weymouth I only dreamed a fresh and energetic bar would come about and now it has. The smoked old fashioned I was made was by far superior to any other I had tried and the bartender Tom really knew stuff and even gave me tips on how I can make it home. Fabulous service by the staff and hats off to the creators of this fine establishment. Will be sure to visit every time I'm down. 10/10

Some really great tasting cocktails with plenty to choose from on the menu, the strawberry volcano was especially good and the grow your own was fun to watch. The staff were friendly and the music was good. Definitely worth a visit.
