Lovely cafe, lovely staff, lovely food. Smashed avocado on sourdough with bacon & poached eggs. Spot on! Lovely sunshine smoothie too. Hard to fault & dog friendly.

Lovely quirky cafe. Excellent service. Dog friendly. Avocado on sour dough toast with bacon, all lovely. Also had a pina colada smoothie, nice but needed to be a little bit colder if I’m being brutally honest. Great visit.

First time caller but will use it again and recommend. Can see the care and effort put in by all involved. The place has a good feel with good food selection, prompt service at a reasonable price. Everything to make it a success.

First time visit on the recommendation of a friend, we weren't disappointed. We went midweek without booking and were lucky to be shown to a table for two, the place was very busy and we'll definitely book for our next visit. The menu choices were good with an emphasis on healthy food . My wife chose a chicken and mayonnaise wrap, she said the chicken was delicious. I had a cheese and ham sandwich which was also very good and we both elected to add a mug of the soup of the day (root vegetable, tumeric and ginger) which was very tasty. We'll definitely be returning to try something different.

Visited with friends for breakfast, really nice place with lots of outside seating and dog friendly. Ordered a vegan breakfast, vegan granola, two avocado on toast, two green machine smoothies, oat flat white and oat matcha latte. Could not fault the food it was delicious and presentation was excellent too. They had vegan chocolate fudge cake and two other vegan cakes (can't remember what they were though). Had a great visit and would definitely revisit, sooner rather than later.

Visited for breakfast, husband opting for bacon and egg butty and I had the vegan breakfast. The vegan breakfast was delicious, I only noticed afterwards they'd missed out the avocado, but I didn't mind as it was so yummy. Lots of vegan cakes to choose from too. Recommend !!!

As a vegan this is a must place to eat , especially for breakfast. It is not the usual veggie sausages and hash browns, here its tofu on toast and avacado on toast with mushrooms and tomatoes. So different and so nice. Enjoyed the chocolate and banana smoothie first. All feels home cooked in nice surroundings. It does get a tad noisy when the place fills up towards lunchtime. Will go again its well worth the drive there and dogs can go so may bring one of my dogs one day

Our second 5 star visit to The Planks. Sunday visit & very busy at just after 10am, if you want a table for more than 2 I’d definitely recommend booking. Staff lovely & cafe is so comfortable. I had Sunshine Smoothie, very fresh & tasty. Poached eggs on toast with bacon & tomatoes, very very good & beautifully presented. One small comment would be that the eggs were very slightly overdone. Quality food & lovely atmosphere.

First visit to Planks Kitchen, it will definitely not be the last. It’s a lovely cafe, so comfortable & dog friendly. Staff very pleasant & helpful. I had poached eggs on toast with tomatoes & bacon. Top quality ingredients, the tomatoes were cherry tomatoes & seemed to have been baked, delicious & sweet. I also had a green smoothie which was fresh & tasty. Brilliant offer, lots of healthy options & the bonus of a lovely shop! Great job Planks Kitchen.

I came across planks for a spot of lunch before an afternoon out with my family After scanning the menu and online I was sold on the cute aesthetic and fresh looking food A strange location and hidden gem with a lovely shop attached Loved how they are dog friendly and the pup is enjoyed treats and refreshments They had a wide variety of bakes which we resisted due to being out all day and wouldn’t stay fresh My parents got orange juice paired with the tuna sweet corn wrap along with plant based platter with added cheese and salmon I’m vegan and was very impressed at the offerings so had to get the açai (normally comes with berries but sadly ran out) They also do a weekly deli bowl full of goodness that I got to takeaway featuring gunpowder potatoes , harrisa slaw , kale chickpea tahini salad and veg Cous cous Overall a great experience, service and food Something for all

Popped in for lunch. Beautiful day so ate in courtyard! We ordered the two platters - meat and vegetarian one. They were both delicious and fresh. Staff very friendly.

This was a lucky find for a quick lunch to break a tedious long drive. The deli bowl was a delicious selection of 4 varied salads. Freshly squeezed juice was vibrant with a good kick of ginger. Avocado on toast was fresh and tasty. It was pleasantly busy, with a lovely outdoor area. We didn’t sample any of the cakes but they looked gorgeous.
