What a surprise, food fantastic nice little restaurant inside. Some unusual dishes, great Bangla beers in bottles. Will visit again, a must if you live local...

Would never go back there. The food was tasteless and the service was disgusting. We visited Planet Spice on 30/07/24 for my husbands birthday. The food was very bland and my chicken was way overcooked too. We had just finished our main meal and the waiter came straight over to clear our table when all of a sudden we were waiting to ask for the desert menu when the waiter came over and slapped the bill on our table and had the card payment machine in his hand!! I the. Asked for two Decaf white Coffees and the waiter snarled at me and said… we DONT do Defaf Coffee!! I was so disgusted at the way we were treated that I complained to the manager. Never have we ever been treated with such disrespect in a restaurant and will NOT be returning. The staff need to learn some people manners! I was so upset because my husbands birthday meal had been ruined!!!

I ordered a takeaway menu on Christmas Eve. The food was delivered exactly on time, was very hot and extremely tasty. Will certainly use Planet Spice again. My family are still saying how good it was.

Just had another wonderful takeaway from planet spice. Delivered on the dot by the nicest delivery guy. Our food was hot and so tasty again. Plenty left for hubby to have for breakfast!!! Wether eating in or taking away you won’t be disappointed xx

We were passing and decided to pop in for dinner. The food was delicious. The staff were very nice. Great service and great food.

Regularly use this takeaway. Sauces are all really good, service is friendly and the price is fair. Had some bad experiences locally but never here. One slight criticism is that the chicken in their curries can be a bit rubbery.

We popped in tonight for a meal. It was lovely my wife had dopiaza and I had a Bhuna. The mains meals and accompaniments were lovely. Very good service. The restaurant was lovely and clean. The staff were very attentive. A great evening , we will definitely return.

Worst curry ever! Watery, bland, dry, tasteless. Terrible! We had different dishes and sides and all were poor. This is the second time going to plant spice and shall be the last!

My first experience of Planet Spice by ordering a take away which took nearly 2 hours. Had to cancel and someone slammed the phoned down on me at the restaurant when I cancelled. Dear Planet Spice up to an hour is fine but 2 is definitely not. If you are too busy don’t take the order.

Amazing little restaurant one off the best curries ive had for a long time go here quite often and this one is definitely the best we’ve have eaten

This was our first venture out for dinner after Lockdown (July 15th 2020) and I have to say we had a lovely time with delicious food. Social distancing is clearly taken very seriously as is leaving details 'in case'. Definitely looking forward to going back to Planet Spice.

Didn’t know the takeaway was even in Godmanchester, a friend told me about it, said it was amazing, the best they had ever had. Ordered our usual, prawn purée, a little dry but tasty, hubby had chicken pathia very tasty, I had chicken bhuna, sadly completely tasteless, very disappointing. We also had the aubergine side dish, a little bland compared to other take aways. Will try again and have the Parhia. Quick and friendly delivery

On a business trip overnight and trusted TripAdvisor to try a local restaurant in the locality. Nice welcome, good food and drinks. Very pleasant young waiter and good conversation. I will be returning at the next opportunity. Most enjoyable, thank you.

Ordered a take-away for the first time tonight.everything was fantastic, and very reasonable. The food was delicious and plentiful, the delivery driver was very courteous. Will definitely use them again.

We moved from Godmanchester 5 years ago, but still come back to eat at the great little restaurant by the river

visiting family we had to go to their favourite indian restaurant! Very busy and lively but we had a great meal and great service. Thoroughly recommended

Ordered a mixture of side dishes to get a meal with some variety. Each was very different, beautifully prepared and very tasty. The service was excellent and eating in this restaurant was a really pleasant experience.

Went here with family as they know that we love Indian food. Everything was very good, the restaurant was nicely air conditioned, not too cold, the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Choices meant that everyone was catered for. Service was excellent, lovely hot plates and food warmers on the table when the main course was served. One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to, looking forward to going to visit family again so that we can go here again. Highly recommended.

Visited again for evening meal,and once again had excellent service and excellent food very busy but food came very quickly, So nice to get wet wipes which were hot and also chocolates at the finish of the meal.

What a lovely place to eat. The staff were friendly and polite. The food was nice and tasted good. Service was a bit slow as they were short staffed but it didn't matter as we all had a great catch up!

One of the best Indian restaurants in the area. Food is always good, service with a smile.However, seems as though there has been a recent change of personnel and service has become a bit gap hazard. Slow and a tad disorganised but I'm sure they'll get it right.

I ordered one portions of KING prawn and receved two portions of prawn. They charged me for two portions of KING prawn. Hugely expensive and the food just tasted peppery and bland. Really disappointing. I threw the meal away because it was inedible.

We love Planet Spice - we’ve been here many times since moving to the area. It was the first Indian restaurant we tried locally and the last.

Visited again with friends and once again the service food and drinks were excellent,staff were very friendly and helpful,makes a change to go to a restaurant and have really hot plates.

My father ordered a takeaway from this restaurant, he ordered for me a Chicken Tikka Masala (as it’s my favourite curry) and when we got the curries home they completely got my order wrong after they said the order out loud to my dad on the phone, in the restaurant to pay. Instead of getting my favourite (Tikka Masala) I got a horrible Korma which doesn’t have the flavour I enjoy and love plus it tasted a bit sweet and it generally wasn’t a pleasant experience in the eating of it. Also the naan bread was well over done and it wasn’t soft it was more like a mix between a poppadom and a naan and the edges were completely chewy and inedible. Completely ruined my curry experience and can safely say that I WILL NEVER BE USING THEM AGAIN for my curry needs

I came here for my birthday back in September and was so impressed that I came back this evening with family. Staff are very attentive without being over the top, fantastic food, great atmosphere. I would highly recommend booking as it is a popular place. Look forward to my next visit.

We visited for a birthday and had a large table, there were a few things that happened throughout the meal like drinks being spilt on us and a mix up with the naan breads, different ones being brought out to what had been ordered. Majority of the staff were lovely but it seems they were a bit stressed with a large number of people to serve. I am quite fussy when it comes to Indian food and have a favourite restaurant we tend to always compare to which never helps but i cannot fault the taste of my curry it was lovely. Really fresh, meat wasn't dry as it sometimes has been at other restaurants, the portion sizes were good. My naan didn't taste too much of peshwari but I really enjoyed my meal. It is a small restaurant so I would highly recommend for small groups of people. More space, larger groups I'm not so sure.

I very rarely write reviews despite eating in many restaurants the length and breadth of the UK due to my job but I wanted to write one for this place.

The food was ok was served popodoms that tasted like they were left over from the day before. The service was slow and got the drinks order wrong twice. Food overall was ok.

It was approximately 2130 and I was really hungry. I called planet spice and specifically asked what time they close and if they accept taste card. I was told they close at 23:00 and they did accept taste card. We arrived at the restaurant and it was not overly busy. The ambience was nice, nothing special, the place was clean and the staff polite.

Todella hyvää intialaista ruokaa. Siisti paikka joskin hieman ahdas. Palvelu pelaa hyvin. Hinta-laatusuhde on erinomainen. Tämä on hyvin lähellä olla kätketty helmi. Suosittelen!

Great food and service, good pint of Cobra. Nice ambient lighting , comfortable and , I think, very good value for money. I went on a Monday when it was quiet but i bet you have to book on a Friday or Saturday....very nice surprise

We wanted to try a new take away so thought we’d give this a go. When the food arrived, the two mild dishes we ordered (yes I know but we like mild dishes) were sooooo spicy. So much so I couldn’t eat mine. We called to feed this back and the manager was aggressive and rude and drove to our house to inspect the food!!! He gave us a refund but his awful attitude doesn’t make up for this.

First time here. Was recommended by friends we visited Planet Spice twic in the last week. Great food, really nice people. Will definitely be going back again

Our first visit tonight,the food was of a fantastic quality and very tasty. The only negative would be they need more staff it was very busy and there was only 2 people working(extremely hard)will definitely be returning very soon😁

Had a takeaway from here recently and the food was really good. The pathia was very tasty and the lamb was really tender (can be a bit hit and miss in some places). Wifey enjoyed her usual chicken tikka massala, would recommend.

Planet spice has Amazing food which is very reasonably priced and lovely staff. We go there for our party’s and we love it x

Me and my wife craved for some good Indian food and decided to give this restaurant a try. We were definitely not disappointed, I ordered the Lamb Pasanda while my wife had the Lamb Jalfrazie and both dishes were good with flavorful. As sides we ordered the Chana Massala (I could had another bowl or two of this) and the Mushroom Bhaji. The only slight disappointments were the Naan bread that did not taste as they had been baked fresh and one of the Popadum sauces that was extremely salty. If in the area would not have a problem returning to this restaurant for another dinner.

Very expensive for a takeaway with 6 pieces of overcooked chicken in what I expected to be Butter Chicken but...

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. The food is out of this world and the staff are friendly and welcoming!! This is a little gem in Godmanchester.

We have given this place 3 chances now. Each time we have had our dips wrong or missing. Out rices missing and this last time a main dish no dips and half the popadoms missing. Called to ask for what we have paid. Told it would be sent back out. A hour later it arrived. What's the point after waiting 1hr for the food we aren't going to wait another hour. Absolute joke. Don't waste your money on this place it's such a disappointment and they don't care one bit. Oh and I might add the dishes were so oily we had to drain them , and even then was full of oil was really disguisting.

Working in area and couldn't find many Indians but this one was great nice simple menu and really affordable too

Called for takeaway tonight and got quoted £25 for delivery (maybe you should put that on your menu!)

If you are looking for a fabulous Indian food Planet Space is the place.They have never let us down. Delicious food, friendly and very efficient service. My top 3 are: mint sauce, tandoori mix grill and tiger by the sea.

Went here with a group of friends and had a really excellent meal. Couldn't fault it. I had probably the best Chicken Tikka ever. It was melt in the mouth! Peshwari Nan was also excellent. The waiting staff couldn't do enough. Well done lads good work!

I have been away for the last year and couldn't wait to get back to Godmanchester and have a curry from Planet Spice & they did not disappoint. I always have the same thing as I'm not actually too my much of curry fan and it always tastes great. The plates and food are piping hot & the staff are friendly. When we go in a big group of friends they never get the order wrong and even offer us a free drink at the end.

Never been in, but takeaway is good. It varies on the days for the same dish, poor consistency. It is affordable, so you get what you pay for.

Food was lovely and well priced. Service was very friendly however was a little slow but not unacceptably slow. It took a couple of attempts to get a drink.Would recommend for the food but just don't go if you are in a hurry.

We called on a Sunday evening..the restaurant was quiet and there was plenty of room without needing a reservation. I would describe the quality of food as quite acceptable. The restaurant itself it quite nicely set out comfortable

Ate here with three work colleagues, one been from the States, and not had a sit-down-curry before!We booked, on the off chance that they were busy, however it was quite the opposite, we were the only customers in the place! Perhaps that's due to it being a Sunday night and not many people eat out, I'm not sure...The place is typically furnished for an Indian Restaurant, but their draught Cobra Beer was on point, great pint!We had a few poppadoms while we decided what to have/order, which the only fault being, that there was no mint yogurt, and the diced onion wasn't really that, it was more rough chopped onion with no seasoning - perhaps work on those!We shared some starters for starters as we had our USA friend with us. For main, I ordered a naan bread, pilau rice, and a chicken madras. My food (and my colleagues food) was spot on! couldn't fault the mains! The service was fine too, maybe just the fact that it was very quiet, and the mediocre pickle tray, they'd be my only faults but not bad at all!

Service great but food way too seasoned with some kind of pepper, it really was over powering. Chicken like rubber. Sorry won't be returning :-(

Pretty average food for lunch. My Tikka Marsala was too sweet. Im sure the rice was reheated. My uncles Prawn dish was average he said. Too expensive for what it was. Will not return.

I use Planet Spice as my go to place for a cheeky takeaway curry. Food has always been lovely. Soon found our favourites and stick to them!! Restaurant can get very busy at weekends so I would always book. Vegetarian selection is good.

Have eaten at planet spice many times over the years and each time we go cannot fault the food, service and friendly staff. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Awful Service we were told that It would be 60 mins. Instead No food turned up at all and instead we ended up having beans on toast instead. Which I have to say was tatsy.

Great value we shared between 4 : 2 starters 3 pilau rice 2 naan 6 popadums and 4 curries, 4 drinks ALL for £54 ! Very friendly and nice restaurant. The quality of the food was excellent and the service today was good. Will come back again!

Took friends early December after our local in Huntingdon closed , went again early New years Eve and although very busy the guys kept pace with service and once again food was top qualityWould recommend a visit

Each time we order it seems the quality is getting worse, tough dry chicken, watery sauce, and this time our lime pickle was a used pot of some kind of brow watery Chinese style smelling marinate, it's obvious someone picked up the wrong pot. So our meal was ruined as we love eating with lime pickle. We are big indian food lovers and this was really disappointing we couldn't believe it ws given to us. Was off putting , doubtful will reorder. see pic I took after opening the pot of our supposed "lime pickle".

Four of us visited tonight,took sometime for the order to be taken due to lack of staff and being busy when we got our meal it was good and plenty of it.

Decided to get Takeaway from this restaurant.. The person on the line was very abrupt and when asked for options of curries was only given a few choices. I was told that I could pick up food in 60 minutes which is quite long on a weekday.. There were only a few guests there having dinner and not sure why it took so long. On returning home noticed that there was no Nan bread we had ordered. On calling the restaurant hoping they would rectify the error by bringing some nan bread home, was shocked to be told that I could have extra Nan bread free the next time I ordered.Had to eat curry with white bread loaf.. Not happy. Only good thing was the tasty chicken biriyani. Shame, I Wont be going here again.

I called for a delivery: whoever answered was very abrupt and rude, needs training. Food arrived within the hour but was very watery, both meals lacked any texture in consistency, obviously cooked very quickly with no thought. Most places give popadoms for free with the meal, not here. Overall poor and won't use again.

I phoned a few weeks ago to be told to ring back as he didn't have a pen !!!! Took my money else where. Tried again tonight as the food is amazing. To be told they don't open till 6. Fare enough but he was so rude. What would have been wrong with taking my order and putting it through 20 mins later. Or just don't answer phone until 6. I snapped and told him I have never come across such poor customer service and would never ever use them again. His reply HE COULDN'T GIVE A TOSS !!!! Clearly........

Foods nice, I've had better, but there in London. So as this one us just up the road, I booked a table for 7 o'clock, a table for 4, me my husband our daughter & grandaughter, when we walked in, it was chaos, there was a crowd of people standing waiting to be seated & people waiting to be seated, the place was packed, we were shown to our table after a while, we ordered our drinks & food, the phone was constantly ringing, as soon as it was put down it rung again, it just rung & rung & rung, people calling for take always... I spoke to the waiter and said, I have come out to eat & relax & have a enjoyable evening, I said the phone is driving me insane & could he put some music on to disguise the constant ringing of the phone, he smiled & put the music on, didn't make no difference really. We waited for our food & we waited & we waited & we waited, it was now 8.45 & we still didn't have our food, my granddaughter who is 4, was getting miserable just sitting there. We got up & left with no food. For this reason I would never waste my time in going again

Reasonable priced food, cooked promptly. Staff courteous. Even a slight deviation request to a menu item was no problem.

Went here with a family group and friends for a family member birthday meal. They were able to accommodate our party of 14 without a problem. They have a wide variety of choices on the menu, with some good specials in addition to the more common and usual dishes such as Tikka Masala etc. Service was good and quick without feeling rushed. They also offer take away service. I will definitely return.

Want to like this place as at its best the food is reasonable. Service wise though it's becoming hideous , walked out tonight after being ignored for 20 minutes by everyone. Muppets.

Well visited twice in 7 days ,with different friends , both sets of friends live in Hurghada Egypt , and over here for a visit , no good Indian restaurants in hurghada ,so a must . the food was excellent ,starters very good , mains were lamb dansak chicken pathia and 2 others really very good . will be back again , Thank you .

Telephoned a takeaway order Monday afternoon 1pm was told he couldn't do it I asked wat time do you close he said 2pm I asked what the reason was he said nobody was in kitchen I mean HELLO shocking we are working down ere for the next 5 months 12 of us rail work we will be taking our buissness elsware

Since Planet Spice opened we have never been disappointed, the food has always been excellent, the service is good and the location perfect for us. Try the Duck grilled Bhuna!

We had a lovely meal here last Saturday evening. First visit for me and I will certainly return. The service was prompt although It was very busy. Booking is advised if you want to eat at the weekend.

My husband and I were passing on Saturday night so thought we would ask if they could seat us. They found a table for us despite being very busy. The food tasted good and was served quickly. The staff were efficient but friendly. Definitely somewhere I will visit again.

My first visit to the takaway. Disappointed with the food. Lamb Tikka Biryani tasted of chilli powder and Lamb was tough.Won't be giving it a second go.

Have used the restaurant and takeaway a few times as food is generally good but today they really let themselves down and were shockingly disrespectful... Ordered at 8.30 told food ready in 25 minutes arrived after 15 so paid and ordered a drink. After asking several times I was eventually given our order at 9.22 no apology not even an explanation in fact the manager just ushered me to the door! Rotten service and it's so easy to get it right!

Another great visit to Planet Spice, Godmanchester. As always the food and the service were top class. The place is so clean and welcoming and the staff are both helpful and discreet. We are so lucky to have this amazing restaurant so close to where we live. Can't wait to go again.

Second visit here and it was not at all a disappointment. Superb Bengali food, beautifully presented and backed up by polished, friendly service. The restaurant is quite small, quite intimate, smart and clean, as exemplified by immaculate toilet (not an insignificant facility in a restaurant). I will certainly be back and I am happy to recommend this place to others.

I don't live a million miles from here and would love to be a supporter. I used to visit weekly mainly take aways. I'm miffed that there is always something wrong with the order to a point that I have to just visit and stress to them what I would like. On my last visit they offered to bring my take away to the humble pub next door, but 45 minutes later never did. I moaned politely and they just said they were too busy. No apology, so I eat cold food. Thank you Muppets

Excellent food at a very reasonable cost. Usually busy which is a good sign. Locals frequent this establishment and always plenty of take-away traffic - another good sign (repeat business.)

I use planet spice for both take aways and for sit down meals.Friendly staff nice decor but more importantly the food tastes wonderful.I've tried the bhuna and the butter chicken.It is the best in the area I always go when I want a good Indian experience.

Stopped over during our roadtrip from Essex to Manchester on Sunday evening. We wanted to have a proper meal rather than motorway service station. It was easily accessible from the motorway and located right in front of a park with pond. The little still to the restaurant was very picturesque. We enjoyed food very much. Service was very good too. One thing to mark is that they had a spotless shiny loo.

Took a while to decide what to eat but the waiters were really helpful especially about our concern that we didn't want to over order. Although my husband and I are meat eaters, sharing an evening with my veggie brother and partner we wanted to choose dishes we would all enjoy. The idea was to dip in and out of a variety dishes but those that would compliment each other. Apart from poppadoms and accompaniements we requested the rest of the dishes chosen arrived together. A veritable banquet and the table groaned - we loved every mouthful & finished the lot!
