UPDATE: the manager saw this review and phoned me to apologise and issue a refund for the champagne, which I was pleased about and is a good way of restoring goodwill. The food was fine. Fabric of the restaurant a little tired perhaps. It was Mother's Day and we received a glass of champagne without asking for it. Throughout I got the impression from our waiter that we were under ordering. When we didn't order desserts he scrunched up one of the dessert menus in a slightly uncomfortable way. When it came to the bill he stated that we were a Fork customer and underscored the 50% discount on the bill with his thumbnail, again slightly uncomfortably. The bill had the 15 pound glass of champagne added on to it. I didn't want to have the conversation about whether it should be on the bill or not (and I did drink it as my partner- the Mother's Day mother! - doesn't like champagne and had tried to say that before it arrived). The fact was it hadn't been asked for. A mixed experience really.

The food is incredibly tasty, the staff is very polite and serves you with a smile. They have the best pale ale! Reserve your spot in advance we were lucky walk ins but usually in the end of the week is full. Had two wonderful dinners there and when we go back to London a third one will be booked!

We got the 50% off deal from the fork. So our expectation was fairly low to begin with. Food was not exceptional but decent, the tomahawk steak was expensive and dry. The other food was good. Unfortunately, 3 of the 5 in our party got food poisoning. Enough said. No amount of discount is worth getting sick for.

Went there on date night and for the 50% off discount from the Fork App food festival. Service was good and the food is fantastic! Probably one of the best deals you can get for the quality of food and price. However, after asking twice to check about if there was any exclusions on the menu for the deal and being reassured that it was all fair game for the discount on the menu I ordered the tomahawk steak. It wasn’t clear on the menu that it was £45 per person and was charged £90 for a steak and sides. The steak was enough for one person if very Hungry and would have been lacking if it was for two. Mind boggles as to why on earth anyone would pay £90 for a steak whether split or not. The gratuity fee was £26 which is 13 % which I thought was very steep. Because the waitress was new and apparently didn’t realise about the steak fiasco I asked them to knock £10 off the gratuity but they took the whole lot off. £106 overall for 2 glasses of house red, starters and mains is still expensive for a meal out for 2 but considering it was in Chelsea I understand. Would I go back if there was a discount offered? Probably would. The staff were nice. I do think the food for a gastro pub is way over priced though, that being said it was lovely.

I have dined at PJs a few times and it's always a lovely 10/10 meal and experience. However I did the Valentines menu last month and I must say I was a bit disappointed. Our first course was cold and they forgot about our second course so we waited over 40 minutes for it to arrive. I had the duck which was delicious but my partner had the cod which he said was a bit underwhelming. Unfortunately, it was not the usual PJs experience I was expecting - especially when paying a lot for a set menu meal. However I will still be back as this has not totally tainted my love for PJS - just won't be back for Valentines day!

Everything was sincerely great with the attentive service & quality food for our company group booking. Although there is something noticeably challenging about the acoustics of the restaurant, in my opinion the walls seem to bounce back conversation making it quite excessively noisy. Yes we were a group, but ended up having to shout if more then several conversations going unlike any other occasion/restaurant. Many of my colleagues agreed, I in the end found it personally challenging & had to leave the work function early.

I attended a dinner here this week in the upstairs restaurant overlooking the main bar. The atmosphere and decor of the establishment are pleasant, with deep reds and Burgundy carpets and furnishings giving it a warm and cost feel, but the food was a little disappointing. The tuna tartare needed more lemon juice and the chicken milanese was rather bland, probably from overcooking. The service wasn't much to write home about either.

I went for lunch with my family. It was pleasantly busy so you'd better book if you plan to eat there. I only gave 4 stars because the mains (didn't check the brunch options tbh) were mainly fish-based and I don't eat fish so had little options. They do serve steaks but I wasn't that hungry. Some in my party did order steak and their dishes looked amazing. I ordered the cottage pie and it was delicious. The waiters and host were very attentive and they took into account our request in the booking to have space for a pram.

We used to come occasionally when we lived in Chelsea before our townhouse in Kensington, including even on Christmas Eve 2012 when we first started living between NYC and London, so have lovely memories as the space is still quite charming. Unfortunately, we haven't had a good experience the couple times we've come by recently after years of absence. Last week, they attempted to make a drink they used to have on the menu, but it was 100% sugar and 0% liquor which is standard here in London, so can't fault them too much. Came by today as we'd seen their sign for happy hour on all cocktails from 5-6 pm. The bar was virtually empty, so we sat on the side bar seating, but there were literally crying babies, a family with kids and ELECTRIC SCOOTERS inside, screaming the entire time which made it quite unpleasant and needless to say the savage parents nor any staff tried to curtail this behaviour (going on literally just behind us, on top of us). After sitting at the empty bar for quite some time with the staff just standing on the other side of the bar catering to no one, we asked if the happy hour applied to all cocktails as advertised, and she gave us certain pages it applied to. Not anything we wanted, but more concerning, it DID apply to a page called the "faces of Chelsea" and Jamie Laing, who we know personally for over 10 years now, is on there (a D list only in London known by even 2% of the population as a balding - got hair plugs - faux reality character, we know from many encounters in London and abroad), next to actual literary and other icons such as Oscar Wilde (i.e. how embarrassing for them to have an actual joke as a "face of Chelsea"). The bartender didn't come over to take our order for about 10 minutes (with no one else ordering, they were just standing around), so eventually we called her over (where she advised us about the actual drinks on offer for happy hour), and she had to read a manual as to how to make these drinks after we ordered them, in plain sight, at the bar. Needless to say, they were bad even for London, the service was beyond atrocious (even for London, and an empty bar), and gratuity was of course added, at regular priced cocktails. My boyfriend couldn't even drink his and I didnt want to as I already felt ill from my artificial sugar cocktail. A shame as the space is still charming, but not with horrendous service, screaming children, and horrible drinks.

The location and the ambiance is great at PJs. I don’t know if it was the day we went (Sunday morning 10.45) but the food took around 30 mins although it was only two breakfasts with eggs and one fries. We went here because we always drive thru on the way to nothing hill and it’s usually very lively so the expectations were high. The staff were good, helpful and attentive. The portions were very small and not really special in taste. The house ketchup tastes awesome. The coffee was good. The espresso martini, however, not so much. It was very sweet for our taste but might be good for breakfast.

I came in today after a recommendation for my mothers birthday and as we walked in I asked if the table by the window was ok to sit down and the lady with short blonde hair said yes that is fine. There were only a few other tables occupied at 1.15pm and a few people at the bar, so we sat down. Only for the lady to come to our table after she had seated us and given us the menus to look at, to tell us the table was actually reserved and could we move. I didn’t understand why as there was so many tables available and 2 others in the window also. She then carried on to say ‘You don’t need to be rude’ which i didn’t understand ? And walked off. The other girl on shift waited our table and wasn’t very warming either. Gave me the wrong directions to the bathroom and did the bare minimum. It was a shame as it was a lovely recommendation, the food and atmosphere was nice but it started our experience in a very sour way and felt very uncomfortable throughout.

Great sevice. Our server was Andrew. He was very friendly, unobtrusive, attentive, and just a lovely person. The food was great, my daughter, her partner and I had the Chateaubriand and about 3 or 4 sides. I was fit to burst, my best friend had the cod and truffle chips, and her partner had the sirloin. All felt very happy. Oh, and I forgot, the starters were yummy too. Too much choice but wonderful.

Came here on Sunday afternoon and got a nice and quiet space at the corner. The beef tartare starter was pretty good with the sauce and condiments to accompany it. Wife had Burrata and it was pretty fresh. Our main was a bit disappointed. My Sunday roasted beef was just too small portion, barely had much of the vegetables or sides with it. The shakshuka was pretty much tomato mixed up not too flavourful. We requested for more bread to accompany with the shakshuka but only came when we finished the dish. Overall the restaurant is pretty classic historical brasserie. Food wise could improve a little bit.

The oysters were excellent, and the service was decent. However, the lobster pasta was disappointing, with only five small pieces of lobster, requiring me to savor each bite. The steak, ordered medium, was tough and not enjoyable. On the positive side, the fish and chips and the salmon salad were both delicious. We chose this restaurant because of the 50% off deal through The Fork app and its convenient location; otherwise, I would have preferred to dine elsewhere. Additionally, the seating was cramped, and the adjacent table was uncomfortably close despite the available space. .

We came here to celebrate my birthday and had a good time overall. For starters we got the baked Camembert which we highly recommend! It was creamy, delicious and perfectly baked! We also got the burrata and tuna tartar which were good too however the tuna did not fully taste right. For mains we ordered a sirloin steak which came out just perfect, a grilled sea bass filet and Cod which were also both great and good portion sizes however I think the cod could have done with a bit more seasoning/ sauce. We also ordered the lamb rack (3 small cutlets overall) which were delicious but so small that even a child wouldn’t be full after eating them. They were the smallest lamb rack I’ve ever seen. For dessert our waitress recommended the pistachio tiramisu and chocolate fondant cake which were divine!! The service here was great and our waitress was attentive however the restaurant itself could do with an update as it was cramped and super noisy. We were shouting over each other to talk. Overall I’d give this place a 6/10.

Oysters have a wonderful flavor like sea water and are not fishy at all. The scallops are extremely outstanding, the heat is just right, the shell is crispy on both sides and the inside is tender and juicy, and the celeriac puree and accompanying salsa are also very delicate. The fried squid is super delicious and the sauce is very good. Mediocre bread, steak and chips. It's easy to imagine the kind of bistro steak where the meat itself is not bad but the cooking power is not enough, and the seasoning is only salt and pepper. Nothing surprising but not terrible either. The pistachio tiramisu was a bit greasy. The beef tartare was a disaster, it tasted like too much ketchup and was so sour that it hurt my throat. The seafood appetizers are all delicious and can be ordered in two portions. You can order steak or not, but be sure to avoid beef tartare. I personally think this restaurant’s rating was lowered by 0.3 due to this dish. I feel like more than half of the negative reviews are criticizing Beef Tartare.

Together with my partner and our auntie, we went out to celebrate giving birth to my daughter Sophia. We found a free table at the restaurant. Just like the table was waiting for us and the lovely waiter George. He was beyond lovely, and his sense of humour made the evening even better. We ordered fish and chips, which was one of the best we had in the gastropub. The fish was crunchy and fresh, and mash peas were full of flavour. We also had a burger, which has been made up to my auntie requirements. I need to say she is very picky about her food. My partner had steak tatar as a starter, and unfortunately, it was the only downfall of the evening. As Eastern European in our culture is tatar as one of traditional meals back home. We keep it simple fresh shredded beef, chopped onion, chopped gurkins, egg yolk, salt, and pepper. Not mixed just on the plate you as customer can decide how much of everything you would like to mix together. You do not overwhelm your palette with sauses, etc. How surprised we were to have it served with sause and capers. I could not swallow it as taste was awful, same with my partner. George reacted straight when we told him that we were not happy with that dish. He asked the manager and took it off from our bill. I need to say it was our first ever visit at PJ'S, but it's definitely not the last one. Sometimes, people make the place lovely, and in this case, having George as part of your team makes customers come back and remember the place. P.S. My virgin mohito was refreshing and lovely. Nice to see a place where you can ask for a mocktail, and Barman is happy to fit your needs as you can't drink alcohol. Also, special recommendations for desserts (pistachio tiramisu is super delish). Overall, it was very pleasant going out! Thank you!

Good service and lively atmosphere but it was not great value for money based off what we consumed. It’s a good one time experience from my personal perspective. The prices were extortionate (consider it the Harrods Tax). I have had the original Ethiopian coffee and it’s the best coffee I’ve ever had. We noticed Harrods Coffee Bar offered Ethiopian Coffee and I was genuinely excited to try it, even though it came with a hefty price. Ladies and gents, I would not recommend it to anyone, it was the most watered down coffee I’ve had in some time and a bad representation of Ethiopian Coffee. However, the Desserts alongside the staff and ambience saved it from being an overall disappointing experience.

Im thirteen years old As a mega fan of Gordon Ramsay I was let down with the meal. I got the ribeye steak which cost 40 pounds and while the flavor was all there I expected more it was just a steak on a white plate nothing else I had to order a seven pound Mac and cheese for a side just to make the plate feel less empty. Even as a thirteen year old I know presentation is everything and this was just not it. As much as I was looking forward to this meal on my first trip to London maybe it is time that Gordon focuses more on the restaurants and less on the 15 fox network shows that he hosts. In all fifteen of his shows especially next level chef he stresses presentation and this did not meet my expectations. You see him on TV preaching good plating and presentation yet he doesn’t stress that to the chefs at his own restaurants
