PJ's American Coffee Bar in Newark and Sherwood

The food was ok, but the bacon tasted like cardboard and wasn’t very welcoming & the portions are Not the best as you do pay a bit for a Breakfast. I would go next door to the butchers I think it would make the meat better quality.

Absolutely terrible called in for a latte and a scone ..firstly scone was red hot as was the plate just awful not quite sure what that was all about .. next up the coffee was served in mug that was way past it’s use by date.. it was glass the edges of which were rough on the mouth ..I sat outside it all looked grubby and upon ordering the inside looked darkish and dingy .. time for a revamp I think .. first and last visit .. food and drink un finished .. not good

we had not been for over a year, so we went for a gander.meals and drinks ok not a lot for your money staff ok. loud elvis music on.

Mainly came to say I was appalled to see the confederate flag on display in the cafe. I would strongly suggest that this be taken down as it is a racist symbol. Food was average.

Visited this place end of february.First impression not the best had to look for clean table ast there were still dirty from last customers and they had just opened.Ordered hot dog whichbwas fairly good but the bagel with scrambled egg was awfull.The egg tasted watery the bagel was soaked in butter and the salmon looked and smelled as it was off so dont even tried it.

did not get one of the coffees right,meals good.staff polite, the place is a bit tatty, worse upstairs. better and worse places in newark.

Went out for the day shopping and found this diner and it is a great place. Makes you feel like you are In America. Very well thought out. Had the frankfurter with fries and homemade coleslaw. I am fussy with fries but they were very good. The whole meal was tasty and huge selection on menu, so much to choose from. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere in there too. Will be visiting there again and would highly recommend.

i have walked past many times, so thought it time for a look.i had a burger and chips very nice, friendly and polite staff.i will go again and try some thing else.

Really nice little American style diner in the heart of Newark. Massive double quorn hot dog with fries, home made coleslaw and salad. Jacket potato with veggie chili, cheese, home made coleslaw and salad. You sign in and hand sanitise, then order at the counter. Very good value. Meal came with a little metal bucket containing ketchup, brown sauce, vinegar and hot dog mustard. Prompt service, friendly staff. The place is decorated with American diner memorabilia, pictures of Elvis, vinyl records, guitar, American football shirt and helmet. Bright red and white decor. The booth seating needs upholstering, as it was so saggy, but the staff let us move to a different table with firmer seats. All tables and seats sanitised thoroughly between customers. Rock n' roll music playing. Great place! :D Visited Wednesday 21st October.

Good price and absolutely beautiful to eat would definitely recommend to anyone who is wanting to visit

Had a good lunch here. You had to go up to order at the counter. The woman who served me throughout was pleasant. The food portions were generous and the food was good. Would eat here again.

Popped in with the daughter for a quick lunch bite and a cup of coffee. Friendly staff, super quick service and really tasty food to top it off. Little one loved her chocolate milkshake too! Will definitely stop again if we’re passing.

We came in today for late lunch and the two women was more interested in their own lives than serving! Made our visit very unwelcoming!

Lovely place to have a latte or a bacon sandwhich. The pancakes are devine. Only thing i can complai about is its always cold in there.

I am really surprised to read bad reviews of this cafe. We were welcomed by friendly staff and enjoyed delicious food. The fresh banana milkshake is amazing! It's unique and has some good ideas on their menu. I'd go back, definitely.

The foods not great but the coffee is, this cafe is spoilt by having no fan extractor so the windows steam up and your clothes end up smelling of greasy fat, not good value for money and potions small.
