Pizzeria Valona in Poole

I have to say that this place won my heart, simply one of the best pizzerias in the town. Excellent service, everyone was super smiling and made me and my friends feel at home, they were super friendly with our dog and everyone in the restaurant were happy to have her there. The food is beyond words, the pizza made in the wood oven makes all the difference. 5 stars, I recommend trying this incredible place.

Absolutely delicious pizza. We ate here last night and cannot fault it. I couldn’t finish my pizza and could bear to leave even the crusts! I took them home and had them for lunch today and they were just as nice. The atmosphere was great. Music not too loud and service was attentive but not invasive. I highly recommend! Sorry no photos I was too busy enjoying my meal.

What a lovely pizzaria. It was our son's 4th birthday and he picked Pizza for his birthday tea. The food was gorgeous, the service was excellent all with a lovely atmosphere. Was the perfect way to end his birthday celebrations. Thank you. We will certainly coming back.

It was simply fantastic! Excellent bruschetta, one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten and a delicious salad for my companion - followed by homemade tiramisu and tartufo of the finest quality! Thank you for the very attentive and extremely friendly service and for letting me buy a bottle of the phenomenal balsamic vinegar. It was a very successful evening!

Great tasting woodfired pizzas and the pasta mamma mia(creamy chicken and mushroom) was delicious. We also had some prawn starters which was very tasty. Very polite and helpful staff.

Took both my boys a month or so ago then last week took son and a friend along. Both times absolutely delicious, pizza is totally traditional and tasty. Also the waiter is lovely and very attentive. 5* definitely ❤️

Visiting from Canada - Arguably the best pizza I've ever had in my life, and the balsamic they use is without a doubt the best I've ever tasted (outstanding on salads - they very kindly let me purchase a bottle)! Our repeat server/host from Naples was the best, but great service and hospitality all around which is why we returned multiple times for meals while visiting Poole. Wish there was a spot as good in Canada; can't wait to return.

A lucky find after pubs on the front were no longer serving food. Nice and sheltered away from the windy front, fantastic service and amazing, freshly cooked food. Francesco and staff looked after us really well. Highly recommended 👌

You will not find better pizzas in Poole. We know as a group of us go there about once a week.They are amazing, thin crust with plenty topping. We had a great surprise as Nia a waitress who used to work there was visiting and as they were busy she helped out. Excellent friendly service and fantastic pizzas. 5* experience

Super friendly family business. We had no booking but they put us (family of 5) on a table near the kitchen which was still good. Prices are reasonable and we got the best pizza we had in many months since last visit to Italy.

Sometimes you book a restaurant purely based on TA reviews and it not only lives up to them but exceeds! We were staying in Poole just for the night and hadn’t sorted any dinner. A very quick TA scan suggested this place, only 10 mins walk from our room at RNLI college, and they had a table available. Walking past a ton of empty restaurants along the pedestrian street we saw Valona’s and hey, it was the only place brimming with customers! It had been the hottest day of the year, so we got to sit outside, enjoy drinks and fabulous pizzas. It wasn’t quite as picturesque as Sorrento, but the food was equally as good. I’m not sure, given the size of the pizzas, how we managed puddings. We did, but needed a decent walk along the quays after. Ps … Francesco automatically pegged me as a Valpolicella girl - nice work. And thanks for the extra chocolates - you’re a star. It was the perfect pizza Friday - grazie mille!

I had a pizza capriccioza here and It was the best pizza, which I have ever eaten.

Last minute long weekend away down south. Friday is 'Pizza friday' in our household. So this seemed a good choice. And was clearly the place to go, whilst working down the quiet street, on a nice warm summer evening, it was the only place that seemed to have people in. Francesco the waiter was attentive and actually took time to check everything, unlike faceless corporate restaurants. The pizza was simply spot on, properly Italian made, not factory processed rubbish. And we did score the Tiramisu, whilst not quite Sorrento standard, still the best in UK so far. And an actual chocolate after, when mentioning i like chocolate, was then treated to various other chocolate delights. Simple , actual proper customer service. if down south again, would easily revisit.

Francesco enticed us in and we had a really lovelly pizza in a freindly place, well worth a visit, well done, great experience.

Francesco invited us in for lunch, we had an excellent wood oven pizza. Good value, pizza and soft drink for £13.95. Would definitely recommend. Friendly and fast service.

Thank you so much for the lovely meal, we forgot to book a table they kindly found us a table even though they were very busy, wine was good and the food was lovely best Italian tasty food we have for a long while, starters had the olives my partner had the bruschetta which was very tasty, i had the pasta special which was very nice my partner had lasagna the only fault he said too cheesy but enjoyed his mealnand ate all of it, unable to judge the dessert as we was soo full couldn't try it , the atmosphere are lovely and the service was excellent and price very reasonable nice change from having pizza i will come again definitely recommended this place.

Really good pizzas, probably the best we’ve eaten. Proper wood oven baked pizzas with a thin base and a light and crispy chewy crust. Great, friendly service and all this at a fair price. Highly recommended, we’ll certainly be back.

Honestly, the best pizza I've ever had. My dad and I found this place br accident and were so glad we did. It's how pizza should be. The main guy, the waiter, I don't know his name but his service is top notch. He's funny and very professional. The atmosphere is great, everyone seemed happy and full! We were in Poole 2 days and ate here twice. Once in the restaurant and once as a takeaway. We will 100% be back next year. Thank you for creating such a great restaurant and best pizza ever. Heads up warning, this is our mistake, the garlic bread is the same size as the standard pizza they do. We messed up here. We didn't read the menu properly. The garlic bread again though, very very very tasty.

We've were about a month ago on a Sunday afternoon. Very delicious pizza, tasty and right cooked dough, quality toppings.just forgot to take pictures of the pizza's.Nice drinks ,bruschetta,tiramisu and tartufo nero Franceso was very friendly. Grazie

Excellent all round - the bases are a different level. So soft don't think I’ve had a pizza this good in the UK. Family run business.

The gluten free base was one of the best I've had - nice and thin without being too dry. Servers were friendly and attentive, all around very pleasant experience.

The best pizza ever! This is such a lovely spot in Poole, a true gem in the Old Town. The pizza is the best we’ve ever eaten, and the customer service is fantastic, the staff is extremely friendly. Francesco was very kind to us and our little dog, and even ran after us after we forgot the rest of our pizza in the restaurant. Couldn’t recommend more :)

Pretending to be vegan friendly but are not!

We ordered a vegan pizza but received one with salami. After we pointed out to the waitress that it was not a vegan pizza, the gentleman became very unfriendly! That's not how you treat guests! Not recommendable.

Francesco provided a personable, proactive and professional service. We were a big family group and felt at home to openly chatter away. Our two nieces were treated with warmth and kindness. My brother in law is an amateur pizza aficionado, he was impressed by the high-quality of the wood-fired pizzas. Authentic Italian, must visit 👍🏾

It was amazing the food was fast and incredible The service was amazing nice fast we were all cutting our pizza and then he saw that we needed a little bit help so he did something and got a pizza cutter amazing No words needed for the atmosphere that the top notch.

Food was very good, I ordered the meat feast pizza and a limoncillo spritz. Meat toppings were tasty and high quality and the pizza itself was delicious. The limoncillo spritz was a drink I was unfamiliar with but it was very nice. Had a tiramisu after and it was also amazing. Overall a great meal. The food my family got was also perfect, they had nothing but good things to say about the food and the restaurant. The service was great, free grappa or limoncillo on the house after your meal, and the waiter and waitress who served us had great personalities. The restaurant itself was small, but had a nice, cosy atmosphere. I'd definitely go back next year when I'll be in the area again. 10/10

Wow... Just wow... My boyfriend and I had a pizza here on Sunday night. His was a normal pizza, mine was gluten free (with a choice of 3 toppings)... Absolutely THE BEST PIZZA.... EVER!! Big thumbs up from both of us... We will go back.

Great food and excellent service couldn't recommend enough..

Pizza was lovely a nice little touch bringing the childrens pizza out in a heart shape. Adult pizza was delicious. Lasagne was the best weve ever had. Lovely offering of free birthday cake, first time visited will definitely come back again. Small and cosy atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly. Got terrible food poisoning with my fiancé after visiting the restaurant on Saturday evening. About 6h after the meal we started throwing up and loosing liquids. Please check your ingredients. After coming back home next day we spent the day in bed with fever. That was one of the worst experiences in my life.

We came here last night for my sons 8th birthday and we had a lovely time. The food was delicious and the service was amazing! Everyone went out of their way to make my son’s birthday so special xx

Delightful environment, excellent cocktail and delicious vegan pizza. I love that there's an option to get vegan pizza with 3 toppings of your choice on the menu! Also, the service was kind, considerate and generally outstanding. I really hope the bosses give their staff 100% of the service charge that was included in my bill, because they deserve it.

Shocking service, the people in there did not know anything, I asked 3 staff where grand parade was and they did not know, there is a sign 10 feet away, I asked where a shop was it was 4 doors away but they did not know, they seemed to be very rude and it was the case of if you are not buying a pizza i am not going to help, had the "its not my job" attitude, would never go to this place again
