A lucky find after pubs on the front were no longer serving food. Nice and sheltered away from the windy front, fantastic service and amazing, freshly cooked food. Francesco and staff looked after us really well. Highly recommended 👌

You will not find better pizzas in Poole. We know as a group of us go there about once a week.They are amazing, thin crust with plenty topping. We had a great surprise as Nia a waitress who used to work there was visiting and as they were busy she helped out. Excellent friendly service and fantastic pizzas. 5* experience

Sometimes you book a restaurant purely based on TA reviews and it not only lives up to them but exceeds! We were staying in Poole just for the night and hadn’t sorted any dinner. A very quick TA scan suggested this place, only 10 mins walk from our room at RNLI college, and they had a table available. Walking past a ton of empty restaurants along the pedestrian street we saw Valona’s and hey, it was the only place brimming with customers! It had been the hottest day of the year, so we got to sit outside, enjoy drinks and fabulous pizzas. It wasn’t quite as picturesque as Sorrento, but the food was equally as good. I’m not sure, given the size of the pizzas, how we managed puddings. We did, but needed a decent walk along the quays after. Ps … Francesco automatically pegged me as a Valpolicella girl - nice work. And thanks for the extra chocolates - you’re a star. It was the perfect pizza Friday - grazie mille!

Last minute long weekend away down south. Friday is 'Pizza friday' in our household. So this seemed a good choice. And was clearly the place to go, whilst working down the quiet street, on a nice warm summer evening, it was the only place that seemed to have people in. Francesco the waiter was attentive and actually took time to check everything, unlike faceless corporate restaurants. The pizza was simply spot on, properly Italian made, not factory processed rubbish. And we did score the Tiramisu, whilst not quite Sorrento standard, still the best in UK so far. And an actual chocolate after, when mentioning i like chocolate, was then treated to various other chocolate delights. Simple , actual proper customer service. if down south again, would easily revisit.

Great pizza. My husband is a coeliac and he had a gluten-free one and really liked it. It was very tasty! Francesco, who waited on us, was extremely helpful and very friendly. We will definitely be back!

Honestly, the best pizza I've ever had. My dad and I found this place br accident and were so glad we did. It's how pizza should be. The main guy, the waiter, I don't know his name but his service is top notch. He's funny and very professional. The atmosphere is great, everyone seemed happy and full! We were in Poole 2 days and ate here twice. Once in the restaurant and once as a takeaway. We will 100% be back next year. Thank you for creating such a great restaurant and best pizza ever. Heads up warning, this is our mistake, the garlic bread is the same size as the standard pizza they do. We messed up here. We didn't read the menu properly. The garlic bread again though, very very very tasty.

We've were about a month ago on a Sunday afternoon. Very delicious pizza, tasty and right cooked dough, quality toppings.just forgot to take pictures of the pizza's.Nice drinks ,bruschetta,tiramisu and tartufo nero Franceso was very friendly. Grazie

Excellent all round - the bases are a different level. So soft don't think I’ve had a pizza this good in the UK. Family run business.

The gluten free base was one of the best I've had - nice and thin without being too dry. Servers were friendly and attentive, all around very pleasant experience.

The best pizza ever! This is such a lovely spot in Poole, a true gem in the Old Town. The pizza is the best we’ve ever eaten, and the customer service is fantastic, the staff is extremely friendly. Francesco was very kind to us and our little dog, and even ran after us after we forgot the rest of our pizza in the restaurant. Couldn’t recommend more :)

We ordered a vegan pizza but received one with salami. After we pointed out to the waitress that it was not a vegan pizza, the gentleman became very unfriendly! That's not how you treat guests! Not recommendable.

Francesco provided a personable, proactive and professional service. We were a big family group and felt at home to openly chatter away. Our two nieces were treated with warmth and kindness. My brother in law is an amateur pizza aficionado, he was impressed by the high-quality of the wood-fired pizzas. Authentic Italian, must visit 👍🏾

Food was very good, I ordered the meat feast pizza and a limoncillo spritz. Meat toppings were tasty and high quality and the pizza itself was delicious. The limoncillo spritz was a drink I was unfamiliar with but it was very nice. Had a tiramisu after and it was also amazing. Overall a great meal. The food my family got was also perfect, they had nothing but good things to say about the food and the restaurant. The service was great, free grappa or limoncillo on the house after your meal, and the waiter and waitress who served us had great personalities. The restaurant itself was small, but had a nice, cosy atmosphere. I'd definitely go back next year when I'll be in the area again. 10/10

Wow... Just wow... My boyfriend and I had a pizza here on Sunday night. His was a normal pizza, mine was gluten free (with a choice of 3 toppings)... Absolutely THE BEST PIZZA.... EVER!! Big thumbs up from both of us... We will go back.

Pizza was lovely a nice little touch bringing the childrens pizza out in a heart shape. Adult pizza was delicious. Lasagne was the best weve ever had. Lovely offering of free birthday cake, first time visited will definitely come back again. Small and cosy atmosphere and all the staff were very friendly. Got terrible food poisoning with my fiancé after visiting the restaurant on Saturday evening. About 6h after the meal we started throwing up and loosing liquids. Please check your ingredients. After coming back home next day we spent the day in bed with fever. That was one of the worst experiences in my life.

Delightful environment, excellent cocktail and delicious vegan pizza. I love that there's an option to get vegan pizza with 3 toppings of your choice on the menu! Also, the service was kind, considerate and generally outstanding. I really hope the bosses give their staff 100% of the service charge that was included in my bill, because they deserve it.

Shocking service, the people in there did not know anything, I asked 3 staff where grand parade was and they did not know, there is a sign 10 feet away, I asked where a shop was it was 4 doors away but they did not know, they seemed to be very rude and it was the case of if you are not buying a pizza i am not going to help, had the "its not my job" attitude, would never go to this place again

Visited August 2023. Was served by Nia. Would give 6 stars in all categories if I could. The food was excellent, and the staff went above and beyond to make it a wonderful meal out. Would definitely visit again.

As soon as I walked through the door, I was warmly greeted. The owners Ash and Pauline, noticing that I was on my own, striked a conversation with me and invited me to their table. They also created a cocktail especially for me. It felt like being with friends!!! Pauline was so kind and even dropped me off at home! All in all one of the best pizzas I ever tasted (also especially created for me, super tasty, and so good), yummy cocktails and tiramisu! 😋😋😋Great company, it felt like being in friends company. Pauline and Ash went out of their way to make me feel at ease and welcome. I highly and whole-heartedly recommend Pizzeria Valona !!!

Hosted a family party on 29th July. Ash and the team made us feel ever so welcome. Service was excellent and the food even better. Best pizza in Poole by some margin (tapas starters are also delicious). Highly recommended.

Called in on the spur of the moment during our holiday , after seeing the lovely looking pizzas people were eating on the outside tables. We sat on an outside table ourselves. Excellent service, drinks served nice and cold and a free bottle of water delivered to the table without having to ask. We ordered a pepperoni and a ham & mushroom pizza, and both tried each others dishes. Both absolutely amazing. Massive freshly made pizzas with lots of toppings. I had originally been served with someone elses order by mistake , which was quickly rectified before I'd even started it. As we were about to leave we were presented with that complimentary pizza in a box to take home with us. With such friendly and attentive service , and the best pizzas we have ever had anywhere, we would highly recommend giving it try. Will certainly pop in again when next on holiday in Poole.

Well keep walking past this place. Never wanted to go in. But here we go.. Greatest by the staff Nia & Oliwia 5*service and the Boss Ash.. I was well looked after lovely atmosphere.. Great "quality" tasteful wines had the Rose and a red.. And the homemade Lasagne and Tiramasu.. Dddilcous great place don't walk past like l did go in.. One of the best artisan wood smoked pizza's I've had. Topping and selections were brilliant, with a mix of classics and some twists/original takes. Service was outstanding, the right amount of tentative with a solid warm approach. Prices were reasonable and I'd recommend.

Lovely little place! Fabulous food, Nia was our waitress and was excellent. We both had pizzas which were just perfect and large! Reasonable prices and a cosy, proper Italian atmosphere. Our first, but not last visit!

I visited today with my 4 years old daughter. What a nice surprise. Delicious food and wonderful, engaged, young crew. How lucky is this owner... and we will come back with the rest of family, many times. Price to quality ratio is crazy there! Don't overthink it, just go and try!
