Very enjoyable Italian food served by friendly staff. Good to see the owner chatting with customers and making them welcome.

Wonderful staff and atmosphere and food was delicious would absolutely recommend and would eat here again me and my partner loved it ☺️

We came here twice during our visit to Dumfries and I'm glad we did! First, we tried a different Italian restaurant which turned us away saying they had no tables despite there being plenty of empty tables, and so we came here instead. The restaurant did not disappoint. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food is authentic and delicious, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. A big, special thank you to Rachel for being so fab! We will definitely be coming back here the next time we are in Dumfries, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody.

If you want proper Italian food and a brilliant atmosphere and top service, you can't go wrong with Il Fiume! Everything is perfect, food is all made fresh from scratch with fresh ingredients and you'll not be disappointed.

Got some panzanelle to start which was really nice with the garlic sauce it came with My fillet steak was cooked exactly how I asked and had a perfect chargrilled flavour, the peppercorn sauce was brilliant and the chips were lovely too Got some profiteroles for dessert and they were delicious Overall an amazing meal and worth every penny, will definitely be back

Very disappointed with our family meal here😔food was at best very basic, absolutely nothing special and absolutely will not be back⁹spent a fortune and went home very dissatisfied, such a shame as have been here in the past and did enjoy it then.

First time in Dumfries. No idea where to eat and so glad I came across this place. A hidden gem. The food is excellent. Got the pizza and pasta. The owner and waiters were all a pleasure. Very popular so try to book in advance.

This is a great wee hide away has a rustic italian home feel to it I can see the feel they are going for , had the king prawn salad which was way better than I thought it would be the flavour was amazing so juicy. Would have been better to have fresh olives tho that was a downfall for me if going to an true Italian I wouldn't expect jared olives but the rest was amazing

Excellent pizza and solid Italian wine selection. Friendly staff, who were welcoming and kind. Great location. Some parts of Dumfries are a little run down, but this is a really lovely area. Would highly recommend.

My cheese and Mac was so good but there was no salt but it was ok my fried pizza roll was amazing the waiters/manager was really nice he was hugging me. Hope we can go again

Very dark and dated food wasn't anything to write home about side plates were dirty and the drinks were hot not chilled wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Started with sharing their cheesy garlic bread, which is real authentic Italian and large like a pizza, not like the supermarket style. Following that, we had the lasagna, which was delicious and came with fries but was very filling. I sampled one of their large fresh pizzas, which had excellent taste. Rounded off with a glass of red house wine. Our Italian hosts, including Pierro, were very attentive throughout the meal. The atmosphere I found was peaceful and out of reach of mobile signal - yay ! Will visit again soon. Oops enjoyed so much I forgot to take photos for you.... Next time !

Probably the best pizza I've ever had. A sumptuous cheese, tomato, garlic and oregano delight. Great cosy atmosphere, very friendly staff and a top location adjacent to he Nith. What more do you need?

Accommodated us at short notice just before kitchen closed, good food, prices and service.

One incredibly attentive waiter, one waitress who seemed almost angry at us The pizzas and chicken were lovely and the Tiramisu incredible, the sticky toffee had been over microwaved so impossible to eat

Great authentic pizza, nice location near to the river.

There were 14 of us booked that night, and we found the service, meal, and company, were excellent. But we were all very uncomfortable as we were far too hot eating our meal, even though they had air conditioning. We asked for the window to be opened, and they did that, but it was still very hot inside. We also had difficulty reading the menu as it was really dark inside too. It got that bad some of us had to go outside for fresh air to cool us down. But all that it would have took was to switch on the air conditioning unit and open the curtains so we could see properly. But here's the bit we couldn't understand, is, they switched on the air conditioning as we were leaving. To be honest it is a very reasonable wee eatery, but they need to consider us the customers.

Had a takeaway last night and I must admit it was amazing the steaks where cooked to perfection will defiantly be back

Pleasant Italian restaurant. Wide menu. Excellent pizza cooked in a proper wood fired pizza oven . Lost a star..too much salt on the chips but otherwise very good.

Went for my friends birthday. It was a Tuesday nice so it was quiet but still a cosy atmosphere. All staff were lovely and attentive. Food was delicious, I had the calamari to share and a pollo picante pizza. Just wish I'd had room for pudding. Will be back soon.

Walked in and asked for 2 drinks and angry little man (manager) walks out and says if you are not ordering food go to a pub and stormed back in. He clearly has issues.

Sadly I did not enjoy the food. A party of 3..no one overly happy with the food.Presentation of a pollo parmigiana was very poor.White chicken breast covered in too much white sauce which solely tasted of flour. Burnt starter which had to be returned. Pitzas tasted ok but nothing to rave about Totally overprice Amenities could have been cleaner . On a positive note we were welcomed enthusiastically.

Saturday 3rd of October visited wth my daughter atmosphere the service and the food was fantastic staff where 1st class also price was very reasonable will visit again

I heard really good things about this place and the reviews gave me the confidence that I had made a great choice. Unfortunately the linguine wasn't as appetizing as I'd hoped for. The focaccia was great and a very generous portion. Slightly alarmed at the London style pricing - perhaps I ordered the wrong thing and should have stuck to the Pizza? Service was on point throughout and I can't speak highly enough of those who were on hand to help our indecisiveness - we were very well looked after. I would give it another try next time i'm visiting.
